Name: Tachibana Miyako
Bloodline: Nanjirou (Branching family)
Age: 13
Physical Description: Miyako is slightly tall for her age, an early bloomer among her peers, hitting a growth spurt before joining the academy. She is lithe, a frame that evokes a degree of gracefulness becoming of a swan, though she dreams to fly further than her ancestors before her. She is very athletic. Light muscles painting her pale-ish skin, a tapestry of hard work overlaying her lean body. She wears her platinum blonde hair in a ponytail, so as not to have it get in the way of combat. She also enjoys wearing flowy, baggy clothing and is typically seen in a hakama, though she enjoys pretty kimonos as well.
Personality: Tachibana Miyako can be described as diligent. Frighteningly so. She takes all of her assignments deathly seriously. When she’s on a mission she pushes everything out, a single-minded determination to succeed no matter what, scolding anyone for mistakes that could jeopardize the mission’s success..She strives for perfection in all things and is exceedingly ruthless in combat. That’s not to say she isn’t kind or compassionate. Miyako understands her personality is scary for basically everyone around her, so she tries her best to be funny, cracking terrible jokes to try and alleviate tension. She doesn’t mean to put anyone down and deeply cares about being loved and admired by her peers.Despite all of that she’s a pretty typical girl outside of what she sees as her duties. She loves playing games and hanging out with other kids her age if they’re not too scared off by her. Miyako likes to picture herself as this perfect adult, trying to look after the younger kids, where her sweet nurturing nature can shine. She always wanted a younger sibling, having grown up an only child.
History: Tachibana MIyako is from a legendary line of samurai, namely, the legendary sword masters known through the lands as the Nanjirou clan. Well, sort of. Her family definitely shared a common ancestor, but somewhere down the line someone branched out. The Tachibanas are essentially nobodies. A clan of swordsmen that are in no way renowned, lacking in any legacy of their own and not even recognized for their fabled bloodline, something which has haunted the clan for as long as Miyako is aware. She started training at an early age, like all Tachibanas before her, a strict regimen that would be followed day in and day out as a child. That’s not to say that she didn’t have a loving family, that allowed her to be a kid and have fun on occasion. She loves her parents and grandparents very much and wants nothing more than to make them proud and she is fully confident that she will, but Miyako has her sights on something more. She wants to evolve past some ancient legacy of only being the best samurai, so on her thirteenth birthday she went to her grandfather, the current patriarch of her clan- she always was a grandpa’s girl.
It surprised her, but it didn’t even take that much begging and pleading. She really was so spoiled by her gramps. Miyako was going to go to the academy and learn all about the ninja arts, to try and take her clan’s bushido to the next level and make the Tachibana name world famous. She squeezes her gramps tight and hop-skips to start packing. It was a new adventure. One she would bravely take of her own volition. When the day comes to bid farewell, her family gathers for a ceremony, a sort of coming of age for their little girl who would soon be setting off on a journey all by herself. The legacy of their family would be passed down to this child whose sights were set not on the distant past, but of moving forward into a future filled with new exciting things. Her grandpa steps forward, imparting their ancestor’s treasured katana, Kanzashi no Hebi. With tear soaked eyes, she waves her goodbyes and steps out of her comfy abode to conquer her destiny.
