A happiness that was stolen away in the night by hounds that escaped their prison within the depth of hell. A hazy dream with spectral images that he can't quite recall, whether its due to the madness or trauma makes no difference to him. He'll never forgive the monsters for what they did. His only vivid memory of those days are the screams. The ghastly howls that snuffed out the cries of family and friends alike. Trying desperately to fight them off in a futile attempt to save your loved ones. The splattering of blood as it hits the wall after teeth sink into flesh. That nightmare fuels him to keep going forever and always, so that not a single person will ever have to go through that again. Laying there helplessly as you slowly bleed out listening to everyone you care about being devoured by monsters, until finally...
You wake from the nightmare in an unfamiliar bed staring at an unfamiliar ceiling. Your body is not your own, resembling the monsters that plague your only tangible memory.
A patrol had arrived at the scene of the attack just in time to save Goro. Just Goro. He was blacked out, suffering from extreme blood loss and the curse was taking hold. His body cracks and contorts, bones splintering to morph his features to resemble that of a canine and his hair and newly grown fur turns white. Luckily for Goro, the head of the Ryuu clan, Ryuu Rei, had taken a special interest in him, using the Ryuu 1000 Layer Dragon Seal to combat the effects. The only hypothesis for why he was able to remain sane despite his transformation is the two curses fighting for dominance within his body. The doctors and medical division ran extensive tests on the wolfboy, trying desperately to understand the currently incurable nature of lycanthropy. He spends day after day being used as a guinea pig, under careful surveillance in the event that he went feral. Months pass after the attack and things seem mostly fine. The quiet whispers of a gnawing hunger does exist within Goro, but it is drowned entirely by his human desire for vengeance against the monsters of the world that would so mercilessly trample over people's lives. Goro begs his clan head to let him serve Kumo, to use this life he's been cursed with for a little bit of good, or at the very least sic him on the monsters that terrorize the innocent. He'd dedicate his life as a loyal guard dog. He trains exhaustively, his lack of talent for Ninjutsu and Genjutsu persists, but a newfound tenacity and endurance in his new body more than makes up for it. His fascination for tools translates wonderfully to weapons with his madness and intellect taking hold in how to more effectively refine weaponry to kill monsters.
