Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Character's Physical Description: Jie's height is a mere five feet and six inches, that coupled with his youthful appearance belies his true age. His hair is black, and medium length but spiking upwards rather than falling down. His eyes are a reddish brown on average. Opting for simplicity, his attire at any given time never brings much attention. At his heaviest, Jie couldn't be any more than one hundred twenty to thirty pounds. His right hand is often seen bandaged, going all the way up to his bicep beneath the length of his sleeve. All in all, there's nothing exceptional about Jie at a glance.

Character's Mental Description: Although he's often mistaken for a teenager, Jie's long passed youthful interests. Despite his given name meaning "Mercy & Love", he doesn't give off the most warmth at first. Typically keeping to himself, his attention is more focused on his belated growth as a Shinobi. Polite by nature, it's still not rare to see him being rude every now and then. Most people will never know what makes him tick, as he seems adept at shielding his innermost thoughts from the world. Instead, people are more likely to misunderstand him due to his rather dry and candid responses to most things.

Few things have value to him, and among those things none happen to be material. Almost intrinsically spiritual, Jie has been known to get philosophical from time to time. With little interest in combat for combat's sake, he often supports other Shinobi as a strategist more than anything else. Beneath his generally cool exterior lie a myriad of problems, but nothing he's willing to share with the world. Displaying a good sense of justice despite his shortcomings, he clearly has a bigger heart than he shows off. The true depths of his intellect and perceptions are usually kept under wraps as well. Jie appears to be no more than average, and has shown very little sense of nationalism. It's commonly thought that he has very little ambition as well.

Multiple Personality Application: N/A

Character History: Few people would expect a boy that survived and graduated the academy at twelve, to still be a Genin at twenty six. After earning his rank, Jie often chose the most menial of missions. Whether it was simple recon, or posting guard somewhere, he never seemed to want much. It appeared that only the bare minimum needed to remain active was done. Remaining largely unimportant throughout his time in Kumogakure, he'd spend much of his free time alone. Friends were hard to come by, as dishonor had long stained his family name. His father had become a Missing-Nin, abandoning his family and village in the process, around the time Jie was six or so.

The Endo clan he'd descended from had become technically defunct, most having died in The First Great Demon War. Even before then, the clan had fallen from grace as they threw away traditions in favor of quick fixes. With the advancements in technology and new methods of teaching emerging, the slow pace of the Endo ancestors seemed useless. Nobody wanted to read through stacks of books, interpreting philosophical scripture and theosophy. Not when there were other roads to strength, ones that didn't come with the weight of... Expanded consciousness. Strengthening the body was one thing, and using one's will and emotion to control the elements wasn't too different. However; turning the mind's eye in on itself was a work beyond the reach of many. Decades if not centuries had passed since the Endo began deviating from their foundations, leaving only few in possession of the ancient knowledge.

After many of the Endo were slain in the war against the demons, the Endo compound was nearly empty. Hidden, buried, and scattered about were old scrolls left unread. As a child, Jie would explore the compound and empty homes. Though his father never cared for the ancient ways, Jie fell in love with the poetry and the concepts he would find. With his father having gone rogue, and never playing much of a role in his life to begin with, Jie developed quite differently. About the only thing they had in common would be a tendency to stay away from home, and supposed loved ones. Throughout the years, he's spent much time unraveling the secrets of a clan that had forgotten themselves. Even while on duty, his mind would wander back to a scripture, quote, or dissertation on this topic or that. The ancient elders had so much to say about so many things the modern world considered irrelevant, but Jie found understanding amidst the buried.

Over the years he's battled with his own demons in silence and darkness. At twenty six years of age, he's emerged seemingly victorious. The fourteen years of almost purely mental and literary expansion would be put to use. Knowing the nature of demons, as written by the ancient elders, would be instrumental in his fate. Training alone in the dark and forgotten Endo shrines wasn't enough, his spirit was growing and his body needed to keep up. Although the demonic invasion that made many famous ended six years before his birth, Jie had come to the understanding that a new evil would eventually rise. It was on the night he prayed for strength, wisdom, and understanding that something awakened inside him. With every fiber of his being, Jie hoped to become an instrument of good and banish the evil that pervaded his world. He wasn't perfect, and was perhaps the least worthy candidate of all if not for his heart. Whatever experiences he'd had, mistakes he'd made, and suffering endured hadn't broken him.

When he emerged from the underground temple at the heart of the Endo compound, the atmosphere had changed. The air and space had once been heavy with unseen grief, pain, and abandonment. Spirits of the ignorant had silently wailed in lamentation of their past mistakes, but now- The ruins and crumbling rocks that spread about the compound emanated hope. It wasn't a thing one could see with their eyes, but something they'd feel in their heart and with their soul. Breeze swept through briskly with a light and crisp feeling, filling his lungs and bringing a soft smile to his face. Gripping his sheathed blade by the hilt and resting it over his shoulder, Jie would finally start pushing for more. No longer would he be an unseen side character. With the same resolve that defeated the demons of his self, he would seek to understand and stem the evil in the world as well. With more focus on universal concepts, Jie shows little care for nationalism of any sort. Knowing his limitations, Jie would play to his own strengths. While others may be far more powerful than he is, Jie's ability to innovate and think outside the box makes him an anomaly. Despite his past and his convictions, sticking to the role of a supporting ally is where he's shined.

Clan Request: Endo

Death/Retirement Thread: I'm keeping Jin'ichi as an NPC, and one that will continue to be an active Genin. Doubt I'd need to RP retiring him since from an IC point of view nothing has changed. He hasn't quit his job.

Re: Takahashi Jin'ichi → Endo Jie [Early Retirement]

And where is that clan compound located again?
The Endo clan compound would be located somewhere in the Ancient Forest. If I can't do that I'm requesting it be in the Cronopolis. Either way, it's a small residential center, now mostly abandoned. Similar to the Uchiha sector in canon material, for comparison reasons.
