Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

    There has always been something about my song that has eluded me. The heartbeat of the earth a natural percussion and the gentle woodwind of the breeze and the trumpet call of every living beast. The world was an orchestra and I its conductor. During my tenure as a human, my skillset seemed odd and I tried my best to emulate humanity with their gesticulations that somehow called upon a power from within. Ironically, it worked despite my lack of a chakra center, vortex or whatever term mankind affixed to the energy surging throughout their being. I tried to be like they, using my alien abilities the best I could but there was something wrong or rather never right with how I tried to reject reality and make my song an illusion.

  2. Shinobi 101: Genjutsu DC for Unarmed Taijutsu accuracy. Adding this.

    Physical prowess was never a strength of mine and in these hard times one does need to learn to adapt. To evolve. I have done such, I learned how to make things appear where they were not. How to make someone else believe. How to crush them with their own faith. A tragic turn of events for the faithful who were not rewarded. This human form is strange and limited, but the power of my will... my manipulation... my illusion remains. My arms are short, but perhaps not quite as stunted as they appear to my opponents. Inches are miles in terms of combat - if you miss it does not matter if it is by millimeters or kilometers because the results are the same. Similar could be said of evasion, a conservation of motion and energy in combat demands limited motion. Perhaps you should move centimeters more.

  3. Illusionist removal

    She was never one for the shadows, that was a tactic of the Deep Court and of her 'human' self thinking it was best to hide in the dark rather than fight under the sun. There was utility to such clandestine attacks surely, but the truth of the matter be told she did not need to hide. Well, she would not need to hide for much longer. She had better things to spend her time on. And when she finally won, she wanted Sousuke to know it was her. That SHE won. That he was not going to take away the one thing she had left -- her freedom.

  4. Gain Sensor

    She could 'see' everything, even before she regained her vision. Every heart beat. Every churning stomach, every dissatisfied rumble. The creak of an aged leg and the gentle rustle of cloth or even the groan of leather. It was not impossible but it was difficult to hide from one who could 'see' everything. The world was full of 'noise', the roar almost deafening. Inside that box - not a good place to hide. Behind that wall - not a good place to hide. However, even the most delicate of senses can be overburdened. Where a pin drop sounds like a shattering glass, a scream is mind-numbing.

  5. Strategist removal

    Preparations was really more Sousuke's strength than hers, this was part of what made her afraid of him. Now that she and the Steward were no longer seeing eye to eye, there would be nobody to assist her in this manner. It did not matter greatly of course, she was a more reckless fighter than most and all of that gear was weighing her down. When you can create an entire world with a simple spoken word, what need did you have for a stack of kunais? She would still keep some things, but she would soon learn that traveling unorganized would mean that she would have to travel lighter.

  6. Elemental Illusion gained

    Her word and her will created a world, a world so vivid that it seared into one's soul. Her anger, her pain and her malice, things she was only now after all this time able to outwardly display. She had been alone for such a long time and even now as she prepares for war and attempts to gather allies she is still alone. She and the Deep Court Lord did not share a nature, herself and the Senju who might or might not be one her her kind could only be identified by his hunger for human souls. She did not trust any of them, but she trusted herself and the world she created with her song.

  7. Elementalist removed

    Humans are if nothing else ingenuitive, it has done nothing but astound me. I remember emulating this myself when I thought I was one of them - it was strange how the mind plays tricks on you to the point where you obtain a new nature. I never much cared for my new nature of course, I found myself pathetic and needy but I did learn a few interesting tricks along the way. Sadly, I do not think along the same lines any longer and because of that I have seemingly lost a meager skill I garnered as a ninjutsuist. Amazing still how humans were able to touch every element but by nature but by somehow willing it. I can still do -that- it would seem, with my hands and not my word. Strange still.

  8. Contract Master gained

    Demons were strange creatures. She had recently come into contact with one such elusive entity. There was nothing but anger left in her, perhaps that was what it fed on. This anger that festered like a cancer, eliminating whatever benefit her time with humanity had given her. In isolation without friends, sometimes you have to make new alliances if you want to survive. Demons might make terrible allies but they also made powerful ones. Time would only tell in what way she would be betrayed, but for now they were an asset and not a hindrance. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

  9. Economizer removed

    What is more unfashionable than cargo pants: a fanny pack. With disgust Shiori removed these woeful fashion choices from her closet one by one. A purse would do just fine, it could hold poisons and a knife. What more did she need besides a bottle of ninja mace. A designer name brand was another bonus that her Ninjaco backpack never gave her. Simple, elegant dresses, even the occasional traditional garment or casual pair of bluejeans was acceptable. But never never cargo pants. Come on people, take some pride in your appearance! Wear a dam bra in public and do not go out shopping in your bedclothes. We all know that is what they are.

  10. Healing Factor gained

    Ancients live forever. Yes, they 'die' in a way but it is not for long or at least in consideration of their very long existences. Prior to Homura and Fuujin's death, it was not believed that an Ancient could in fact be killed. A terrible concept for some, but perhaps not all. The constant toil could be tedious. I for one do not wish to die. We gain sustenance from our element - much like Fuujin and the sun and myself and the earth or Homura and his flames. We ate other things as well, mostly souls but that came late in our existence. We can even eat 'food' but it really gives us no actual benefit beyond the pleasure of taste. We live, thrive and heal by being close to what we are.

[spoilername="Steadfast Core Ability Table"][fontsize="12"]The Steadfast ninja is one who doesn't go down easily. They are tough and durable, able to resist heavy amounts of damage and defend their teammates. They are also incredibly determined, and it is impossible to ever truly break them down.

Maximum Defense<i></i> - Modification (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Defensive Technique
A Steadfast can learn this variation on the Defensive Technique once they have practiced it to its full potential. Instead of dodging around like a flea, they can focus on guarding all of their weak points in order to reduce they amount of damage from attacks. As an alternative, they can almost completely forgo attacking, throwing all of their energy into evading enemy attacks instead.
Effect: When using Defensive Stance, you can trade 1 point of Accuracy in order to reduce oncoming damage by 5% instead of gaining a dodge bonus (to a maximum of -2 accuracy and -10% damage taken), or you can trade 1 point of Accuracy for 1 point of Dodge up to a maximum of 6 (as opposed to the previous 4).

Great Fortitude<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
A Steadfast that learns this has mastered their ability to take hits without injury, making their bodies almost impossibly strong. It takes quite a bit to make them actually feel an attack, and even then you might not illicit a reaction.
Effect: Ignores damage each round. How much is reduced is based on your character level, this skill reduces 75 Damage per level each round.

Stand Fast<i></i> - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
A Steadfast who learns this particular ability is able to tap into a great reservoir of inner resolve, temporarily becoming able to suffer huge amounts of damage without incurring any serious harm to themselves by taking an absolutely defensive stance.
Effect: For one round, the user reduces all damage against themselves by 75% but cannot attack in that round. Usable only once per combat. Does not take any more Damage reduction buffs. If the user is not hit during the round this is used, it will not count as being used.

Human Shield<i></i> - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Body Switch
A Steadfast is excellent at taking blows, but not everybody else is. Using their natural ability to soak damage an extension of the Kawarimi (Body Switch) jutsu, a Stalwart can leap in front of an ally and take attacks for them, perhaps preventing them from being harmed.
Effect: The Steadfast can switch places with an ally that is attacked at a cost of 0.5 AP (they cannot switch places with an ally when they are being attacked). Allies that are aware of this ability and can Body Switch with real clones can designate the Steadfast as a target; if the Steadfast is unwilling to switch, then the jutsu automatically fails. The triggering attack is resolved against the Steadfast instead, who can attempt to dodge it normally.

Awesome Power<i></i> - Modification (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up, Requires Hidden Power
A Steadfast ninja with the ability to bring forth a deep seeded power within them will often test that power, pushing to themselves to the limits at all times until they have mastered those reserved abilities. When they are pushed again, you can expect the backlash to be severe.
Effect: The user gains +1 to their Secondary stats rather than +.5. This caps at +4 to their secondaries.

Willfull<i></i> - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can only be purchased a maximum of two times
A Steadfast ninja has willpower beyond that of anybody else, able to beat away enemy illusions and maintain focus on their goal. A Steadfast nin is one who possesses not only fortitude of the body, but of the mind as well.
Effect: +1 Genjutsu Save

Second Wind<i></i> - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
Just when enemies think they've got the Steadfast one down, when they've hit their limits and can’t fight any harder, that’s when it’s time to use the Second Wind. Due to training, those with Steadfast have amplified their natural ability to recover to extraordinary levels.
Effect: The user regains 20% max HP, and cancels all Bleeding. This is usable only once per combat.

Free Will<i></i> - Passive (2 points)
Those with Steadfast are not easy to detain, able to break out of jutsu and traps that would seem completely foolproof by sheer willpower. They simply cannot be held down when they've got a goal to accomplish, and you’d be a fool to try.
Effect: The Steadfast gains +2 Dodge/Save against binds, and has an additional +5% chance of escaping.

Indomitable Spirit<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
Through raw training and persistence, the Steadfast ninja has a will stronger than their body. No matter what torturous pain they may be going through, they can overcome and fight on.
Effect: The user ignores one point of debuff from any and all sources (so a Blinding Flash that causes a -3 to Accuracy and Dodge only causes a -2 to the user). In addition, they are not influenced by any fear effects.

Poison Immunity<i></i> - Modification (2 points)
Restriction- Requires Poison Resistance
A Steadfast ninja who learns to resist poison takes things a step beyond what normal people would do, putting their excellent health to the test and continuing to poison themselves where others would stop. Nearly killing themselves, the Steadfast gain incredible resistance to poisons of all sorts.
Effect: Increases bonuses from Poison Resistance to Immune to Weak Poison, +3 against Strong Poison, +2 against Heavy Poison’

Undying Warrior<i></i> - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- B Rank and up
This powerful skill is the penultimate technique that any Steadfast ninja could learn, allowing them to increase their resolve to a level that defies imagination. By focusing all of their attention, energy, and willpower on one target, the Steadfast ninja is able to stave off even death until that enemy is laid to rest. This is best used when they are in desperate straights, as a final act of will.
Effect: When the Steadfast ninja starts their turn unconscious due to having 0 HP or lower (but no lower than -50% of their Max HP), they may choose to revive and act again. They receive +2 to Accuracy on all attacks against the opponent that felled them. If their HP drops below -50% of their Max HP, they fall unconscious again and cannot use this technique unless their HP rises above this value. They lose 1500 CP at the end of every round they act while having less than 0 HP (if they run out of CP, this is taken from their HP), and this technique can be used for a total of three rounds in a battle.

Resilience - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
Steadfast ninja push the limits of the human body, ignoring pain and pushing on to absorbing more damage than their heartiest allies. This helps them to defend their allies as long as possible by extending the time they can remain fighting.
Effect: +2 HP modifier.

Reciprocate<i></i> - Jutsu (1 point, 1 point to rank up)
Restriction- A-Rank and up
This deadly jutsu unique to the Steadfast taps into the muscle memory of their body, taking the pain that they've suffered and turning it against an opponent. With a solid hit from their palm, the Steadfast transfers all of their pain and injury into the enemy’s body, sometimes with interest.
Rank 1: Deals all of the damage dealt to the Steadfast in the past two rounds (including damage that was negated), at +1 Accuracy
Rank 2: Deals all of the damage dealt to the Steadfast in the past three rounds (including damage that was negated), at +2 Accuracy
Cost: 3 AP, Costs CP equal to 50% of the damage Dealt
Note:</I><I> Usable at any time; does not require to be declared 2-3 rounds beforehand. Max damage is at 6800. This cannot be buffed. Uses melee accuracy.[/fontsize][/spoilername]

In addition, as per my training thread I have no mastered 50% of the WILL genjutsus and therefore should have a minor in this as well as VISUAL. I mispoke last time and said WILL and had WILL put up instead of visual. Not that it matters now because I have both.

There was something about short, white leather dresses that she absolutely loved. The cool, smooth material bleached cotton white material fit her like a glove, but there was a one problem -- no pockets. For the most part there was no problem, she had a bra and bras were made to carry all sorts of things. There was that problem with one boob looking bigger than the other but she was getting better at filling her cups evenly. Kunais were still problematic but that was what sheaths are for. She did have to leave a few things at home, such as a few EMP grenades and some aerosolized poisons that she had no real use for. There were a few sacrifices she had to make. WC 124

Time was a tedious thing. Her time as a human gave her a new appreciation for the passage of generations. The patience she once had seemed limited. She did not want to wait centuries to be what she once was. While she did not have the same pride as the other courts, her death(s) were painful and her fear and cries were witnessed. Her dignity was shattered when that happened. She needed to get better. To get stronger. She did just that. She practiced her jutsus and she made them more powerful than before. More powerful than intended. The seals were the same, a bit more cumbersome but in the end the power unleashed was terrible. WC 117
 
Advanced Elements. No cost Dust (already had); Photon (no cost as it is one of the 4 she can obtain via this method); Mirror (no cost as it is one of the 4 she can obtain via this method); Poison (no cost as it is one of the 4 she can obtain via this method). She has Sound due to her Hashigaki BL. Her fourth would be Sand which she has already mastered all the techniques from.

Photon [Major Wind + Minor Lightning]

The Photon element is often known as the 'Light' release, and involves converting chakra into rays of light itself. Both incredibly bright and fast; Photon techniques are known for being almost impossible to see and even harder to avoid. All of this is true, but more important than that is the fact that it allows her to see what otherwise would be left unseen. She was paranoid in a sense, while she was allied with the Deep Court Lord and his progeny she had no trust for them. Their uncanny ability to hide in the darkness, sans form meant she needed to be prepared in case they turned on her. Something she knew they would do in time if given reason or opportunity. She was a woman without a true ally in this encroaching war. Pure electricity sparked at the ends of her fingertips, illuminating the space before her. Then a gust of wind, the resultant conflagration was near blinding. Her pupils constricted as did the shadows, leaving the world naked and bare. Nobody could avoid her gaze. Nothing could hide. Perfect, she had a plan B in case things went awry. Let's just hope that she never has to use it. -- WC 202

Dust [Major Wind + Minor Earth]

Dust, an advanced element that utilizes chakra to manipulate substances on a molecular level. Users of this element to have the ability to disintegrate matter into fine particles of dust, and reshape it into various forms for their jutsu. A sister technique to the one she was the most intimately familiar with: Sand. Only finer than her base element. Ground to the finest of granules and blown on the hot Sunan Winds, dust is as much a part of the desert as the sand and the sky. Like Sand, she had mastery over these fine bits of earth. It was a skill formerly lost to her all those years ago when she first died and fell from grace but with time and a bounty of souls she was slowly climbing back to her previous height in power. She was no longer willing to be satisfied with her limited profile, however. She wanted more. She wanted to have everything. She wanted the winds to sing, the earth to crumble and the skies to clamor in her approach. She wanted the world to sway in response to her demands. She could not trust her fellow Ancient. She could not trust the tribes of man. She had to be self-reliant. -- WC 207


Mirror [Major Wind + Minor Water]

Mirror Mirror on the wall... WHO is the loveliest of them all. Not the woman beneath the thin shell of porcelain and clay, but the form she had chosen was rather beautiful. It was sad that it was so easy to change the wrapping and not the contents. Her heart was poisoned as was her mind with hate and rejection. Still, there was something about mirrors. Mirrors were perhaps one of the more unique elements of Ninjutsu. The Mirror element seemingly had no true form or properties on its own, the mirror was a reflection and it directly changed and took on the nature of the environment and opponent. It was something she did to "fit in" and she did this well. She looked human. She sounded human. There were times when she even forgot that she was not entirely human. It was a skill worth expanding upon. She could do more than take the role of a pretty woman and make it her own. What if she could take on the skillsets of her enemies and use their strengths against them. It was a worthy subject to explore. And with that she started molding wind and water, her intent was to see a bit of herself and a bit of them staring back at her. - WC 216

Poison [Major Wind + Minor Fire]

Nothing but taint and corruption. She possessed a number of dark energies that proved toxic to humans but there were a number of them that could endure her virulent touch. There were some things that humans could not get used to -- poison being one of them. Poisons were given such a name and a designation because they were intended to destroy, unlike her touch which was more of an incompatibility between the worlds of man and Ancient. What would happen if she were to introduce poison to her techniques, not just any poison but the kind someone had to purchase, The kind that was intended to disable her opponents. Something would happen when she mixed fire and water, a foul cloud of smoke and a plagued aura would emerge and become something particularly lethal and toxic. It was something that even caused the Ancient's knees to buckle when she was exposed. It felt as if her body was on fire. Yes, this would do. This would do nicely. Sousuke would be her first target, potentially followed by Kaza. After all, practice makes perfect. Perhaps she would have to test this out of a few unfortunate visitors first. she wanted to do this right. - WC 204

Elemental Illusion to replace Human Anatomy *gasp*

Illusions are sometimes better than reality. In her mind she could control the entire world. Something she planned to also do in the physical realm, something that would take time. YEARS likely. Until then there was the canvas of her mind and what she saw inside of there was both beautiful and terrible. It was the world as she remembered it. As she saw it. She did not remember the world the way it actually was, the world as it actually was happened to not be very different from this one. The built and they fought. They loved. They hated. There were masters and slaves. She would sometimes lose herself in this world she once knew. In this world that existed as it actually did once exist but there were rose colored lenses that saw the world as a place of perfection and harmony. It was not, it never could be. Still, she wanted that world and she wanted the power to mold it and make it reality. She would find herself lost in these memories for hours at a time while her body simply sat there; she simply stared off into space. Perhaps her aim had diminished during this time, everyone gets a little rusty. If she needed to, she would learn again but not today. These memories seemed to sway her intent and her powerset. Her imagination was certainly powerful, she would make this world the same as the one in her mind. - WC 243

      • She was not a medic any longer and she had not been one for a very long time. There was a time when she was rather proficient in healing her allies and patients but over time she learned that she was better at ending lives rather than saving them. Time had made her a better killer. She was never intended to be anyone's savior although there was a time not terribly long ago where a part of her wanted to be the wonder people remembered and not the monster she knew.       • This Ancient was very good at hiding. In fact Shiori or rather Mother Suna had been in hiding for years. There was a time when she could lace into her opponent's mind one of her insidious illusions. There was a time when she could do this and remain hidden. Of course, it was then that her illusions were nothing more than a gnawing tickle in the back of someone's subconscious. A nagging thought. A reluctant conscience coming forth. It was easy enough to ignore as it mustered some strength and grew, but now her illusions were becoming more potent. It was like being hit in the face with a cast iron frying pan. It was simply something that would not go unnoticed. Her hiding place revealed, her victim would know she was there. She would have to get better at hiding, she did not want to be found.WC: 151

      • Have you ever woken from a dream that was so real that you could feel the heat? Even after you wake you can still smell the smoke as if it had burrowed into your clothes. Your heart is still beating fast, you survived a near death experience, the adrenaline is still pumping through your body and you feel as if you could lift a truck. That is the thing with illusions, when an illusion seems to be too real... what you think happened feels real. And perhaps that superstition is true -- the one where if you die in your dream you die in real life. If you asked her she would tell you the truth: be careful what you think you see and what you believe you know. That superstition exists because there was a time when that was true.       • "A good scout is always prepared" -- she had no idea where she heard that saying or why she cared if she was a good scout. The problem with being prepared is the fact that you need to have pockets... a LOT of pockets. It is not often that a man appreciates her choice of attire. OK, well there is plenty of appreciation but of a different sort in this case. Short leather form-fitting dresses had their advantages as well as their disadvantages. There was no pockets and if there was a pocket discreetly sew in place it left an unseemly bulge. Having people wonder why one boob was bigger or wonder if the hilt of that hidden dagger was truly some sort of personal excitement led to some awkward discussions, made it harder to blend and of course was simply troublesome. So she stopped. She stopped making new, hiding places. Preparing vials of poisons and stuffing the laced blade down her shirt, when the hilt came lose and cut her it again led to only more difficult and uncomfortable discussions. WC: 178

      • Being able to find or even know you have a target is the first step to being able to combat your target. This is something Shiori learned early on. Shiori, or rather Mother Suna's keen sense of sound made hiding from her nearly impossible. She could hear the rustle of her opponent's clothes, the sound of their breath blowing in and out. The churning of the intestinal contents. Even the faint beating of their heart, so slow and so rhythmic, it was unrelenting. Suna would always find them, even in the pitch dark black of night. She could find them even when they were hidden behind boxes, around the corner of a wall. She could find them and she would find them. That was the point of seeing without sight.
