Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Name: Takeshi, Surutameni
Nickname: Suru
Age: 10
Crow Companion: Unmei
Physical Description: A little on the light side for his height of 140cm, Surutameni weighs in at 31.5kg, although he has a well toned physical appearance and is not considered to be underweight at all just by looks alone. Suru's skin tone is a pale but some-what tanned color thanks to his exposure to the sun on a regular basis. His black hair is usually kept short though his bangs have a tendency to cover his rich amber eye color, that he does his best to hide due to the lingering gazes of many awe-struck mothers and classmates. His usual outfit is a tight fitting solid black half-sleeved undershirt, a grey and white hoodie with the right shoulder covered in crow feathers, that also only has one sleeve, that being his right, comfortably fitting black and white shorts that are just about knee length, and a pair of black open-toed sandals.

Mental Description: Surutameni is a distant and quiet boy who opts for the company of his crow, Unmei, over the company of another child. His mysterious nature and brooding looks make sure to keep the other kids at a distance, prefering to spread rumors about him and his birth-parents than to approach him. The distance Surutameni keeps between himself and the rest of the Academy students allows him to do the things he prefers most, practicing the lessons from the day, sword techniques, and spending time with Unmei. He doesn't readily make friends, but those who he lets get close enough will gain his loyalty and affection, and he will protect them at all costs. Even if it costs him his life.

History: The life that was given to Surutameni was not one that was wanted or cared for. He was tossed to the grim coated steets of the slums of Sunagakure when he was just a baby. Unable to care or fend for himself he slowly starved as the days went by. His life was on the brink of destruction when an elderly woman heard his weakened cries over the cacaphony of noises that were brought on by the heavy flow of the poor shuffling back and forth during the peak market hours. As she approached the emaciated infant, she saw that he was just barely clinging to life and quickly but gently lifted him into her arms and raced to the orphanage. As luck had its way, Suru recovered quickly under the care of the women that ran the place. He was fauned over as any baby should be and his life started to take a turn for the better when a newly wed couple arrived and decided they would take him home.

Suru, now six, had settled into his new home. His parents were as kind and caring as they could be when they were home, but that was a luxury Suru never fully got to experience. They were always away, leaving the house a mess as they never really had the time to clean it with how much they both had to work to keep the family fed. So Suru would spend most of his day out on the streets, walking where ever his little feet would take him. More often than not he would walk to a small area that was commonly infested with crows scarfing down whatever scraps they could get their beaks on. Suru would sit and wait patiently as the birds finished their meals and then flew away in a flurry of feathers. The soft black objects would float slowly to the ground in front of the boy, who stood in awe of the animals, not knowing that many viewed them as an omen of death. He made a habit of collecting the feathers and would bring them home to store them in a small box that he had been given from the time he had spent at the orphanage.

During one of his many adventures to the crows of the merchant district, Suru saw a small red haired girl darting through the merchants and stuffing her pockets with whatever scraps she could. He was rather confused with her behavior and abandon his feather collecting to follow her around as quietly as he could. He kept up this ritual for a couple of days and noticed that there was always one place she returned to and stashed her riches. He decided that he would leave a feather for her every day as he returned home for the night, regardless of if she ever knew he was the one leaving them.

Weeks went by as Suru wandered to the crows and the boy grew attached to them. He began to bring them bread that he smuggled into his room away from dinner and soon enough the birds started to approach him. They stopped flying away when he arrived, opting to hop towards him and squawk at him, expecting their daily feed. Suru didn't mind, he enjoyed the company and attention the crows paid him as he had no friends and his parents still weren't around much at all. On his ninth birthday, something of a miracle happened, while on his way to his avian companions, Surutameni stumbled across a crow chick that had fallen from it's nest. The little bird was still alive, although its wing was broken and if left on it's own it would surely die. The boy took it upon himself to rescue the animal and picked the frail thing up, holding it gingerly in his arms as he rushed home. Once there, he was suprised to find that his parents were home, they took one look at the little bird and scolded him for bringing it home, saying it could have diseases and make them all sick, as well as the fact that the bird was a bad omen. Suru begged and pleaded to keep his little feathered companion. Eventually they gave in, knowing that they were never home and that he could use a companion. Happier than he had been in a long time, Suru named the crow, Unmei. His parents helped the boy set Unmei's wing and made a sling to make sure that it would heal properly. Suru didn't venture far from the house for many months as he felt that some thing would happen to his bird while he was gone. He no longer visited the other crows as he had his own to take care of, although he still made sure to leave a feather for that red haired girl he had seen a year ago.

A year went by without anything else memorable happening, and on his tenth birthday, his parents came home with two presents. They were wrapped in simple brown paper, but the fact that he was getting anything at all, was a shock to Suru as he understood that the family did not have a lot of money and must have been saving for a long time for this. The first gift was a simple grey jacket, it had only one sleeve, which happened to be for his right arm. And the second gift was a beautiful katana, on either side of the hilt was a small crow shaped metal piece wrapped within the bindings. The folds of the blade were shaped into a wing type pattern and cut into the blade-guard were the shapes of feathers. Suru marveled at the blade and looked to his parents for answers as he was unsure of why they purchased him a weapon. They informed him that he had been enrolled into the Shinobi Academy and had been able to afford the weapon now and were not sure if they could afford it later on. Suru's happiness soared, he had always dreamed of becoming a Shinobi, and now his dreams were starting to come true. As he started to head to his room, his parents stopped him and told him how sorry they were that they hadn't been able to be around as much as they would've liked and handed him one more small gift. It was a simple coin with a square cut into the middle. They told him it would bring him luck in the years to come. That night he didn't sleep, he took the box of feathers from under his bed and attached three of the largest to the blade's hilt with some of the small black ribbon that had tied the jacket into a nice clean package. The rest of the feathers he slowly and methodically applied to the right shoulder of his new jacket. The coin he was unsure of where to place it he did not want to lose it, Unmei pecked at the metal thing in interest and gave Suru an idea. He used what was left of the black ribbon to tie the coin to the bird's leg. As the sun was rising Suru fell asleep with Unmei perched on his side, content and ready for whatever life had to throw at them in the years to come.

Now, Surutameni and companion, Unmei live at the Academy, taking the weight off of his parents and dedicating his time more to practicing his abilities than to exploring.
