Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

The two were back on their way, sliding down the path in a hurried manner as they rushed to make sure Azure was still alive and well. A worried aura emanated from the two of them, for obvious reasons, but the feeling of worry quickly turned to urgency as he noticed something through his extended vision. Two life forces glowed off the edge of the cliff beside the path they were on, and judging by both the size and familiar features of both of them, the young Byakko instantly knew what was going on.

"Excuse me Ting." There was no time to explain, and the boy quickly lifted the otter up off the ice, slung him over his shoulder, and leapt off the cliff. Undoubtedly, his ally would question his sanity, but with the situation taking such a dangerous turn, they simply couldn't wait until they reached the end of the path. The cold air chilled Yanjirou to the bones as he cut through it, but goosebumps that appeared on his skin was in anticipation for the fight. It was already clear to see that the two before him were fighting on equal grounds, but the minute difference in strength between them would ultimately decide the victor. Azure, unfortunately, was not the one with the advantage.

As they neared the ground, Yanji pumped as much chakra into his legs to try and soften the landing for the both of them. Despite his successfully managing to prevent damage, he was unable to prevent himself from falling to a knee, and breaking the ice beneath him. Already being as on edge as he possibly could be, the young Byakko was practically prepared for just about anything that could have gone wrong during his fall, and immediately hurled Ting toward the fight just before being submerged into the icy waters below. During this time, he was unable to see how things played out, but he could only hope that their - Yanjirou's rather - insane actions would be enough to catch Kuzo off guard, and end the fight as quickly as possible.

Already feeling the affects of the freezing waters, Yanji barely managed to pull himself back onto the ice. From here, his first priority was to raise his body temperature, which he did by once more building up as much chakra as he possibly could to prevent freezing to death. As he did so, he looked toward the fight, hopeful for the result - and praying to Byakko that the two would be alright. He couldn't afford to lose people he'd grown to appreciate like them, the emotional impact would simply be too much for one as inexperienced as he.

Azure was still in dead lock with Kuzo, he was coming with another uppercut with his free hand. Azure's eyes widened and shifted into that direction, he pulled into Kuzo and pushed off, spinning to his right he retracted his sword. The otter tucked the elbow of his equipped arm into his ribs and stepped into Kuzo swinging his blade upward. Kuzo's reaction time was off, Azure was shifty for his size, still Kuzo was able to turn fast enough and take only a minor flesh wound above his left shoulder and responded with an arm extended at Azure, palm out. A thin high pressure tendril of water extended and wrapped around Asure's free arm, crushing it to a sprain. He yelped out.

Kuzo was trying to intensify this but was whacked by a flying Ting who crashed into him. Luckily he had arrived in time. Ting fell to the ice lightly, and slid. He was quick to recover, although Azure's left arm was limp at his side.

Ting: "Brother I am here!"

Ting wielded his Sai and looked to Azure then at Kuzo who had recovered, his wound even healed and sealed itself shut as he chuckled. He wondered where the boy was, but didn't look for him. He focused in on his otter prey. Kuzo performed more hand seals, creating five water shark bombs that spread out toward the two otters.

Ting and Azure cringed in unison, Ting equipped his Sai's once more, covered with an icy exterior from channeling his chakra and hardening the water to a stronger form. Azure then revealed his trump card, encasing himself in crystal, still his left arm was quite inactive.

Kuzo: "Funny tricks... Heh"

A curse mark began to seal itself around Kuzo's pattern, creating a strange pattern like tattoos all around his body, turning his eyes black with a white hue. His skin tone even turned from a light grey to a matte black teamed with the glowy white curse mark. A dark aura of deep grey surrounded him in a shroud and seemed to tug at near by chakra sources to absorb them.

Kuzo: "Now we dance!"

Ting dashed, within range Kuzo rose his left hand, so effortlessly a wave of water broke the ice in the form of a fierce of dragon crashing into Ting, a well time sneak attack catching him off guard and pummeling him into the icy cave ceiling and he squealed out. Azure was worried but was dashing too and it couldn't stop to think as he had to press the attack. But he too, met the same fate when Kuzo's left arm rose sent Azure crashing into the ceiling as well, except the water encase and trap them both, solidifying them in ice. Kuzo would turn to face the recovering boy.

Yanjirou watched the quick exchange from a distance, shivering violently as his internal body temperature slowly rose, and clothes dried. Although their little surprise attack was a success, it did not achieve much--Kuzo's ability to recover being far better than the boy had anticipated. Their desperate struggle to hold the creature off was difficult to watch, but it would be worse for three of them to die due to his own impediment.

"Interesting..." It was certainly a surprise to see the shark-man's form change so drastically, but Yanji had to stave off his own curiosity and end the fight as quickly as he could. Seeing the otters slam into the ice, he knew that he wouldn't have much longer before Kuzo targeted him, and just as his shivering calmed down enough for him to operate, the boy crouched down slightly and prepared to attack. It was now or never; the only real way for the young Byakko to escape this place and ensure they get the pearl back now, was to face the beast that was the cause of the whole mess.

Taking a deep breath in, Yanji spoke, "I will not allow you to harm those otters, or their allies, any more. I have promised them that I would retrieve their pearl, and I intend to do so before leaving here. If you're smart, you'll leave this place and never return, if you aren't... Well, let's just say you'll be dealing with something far more dangerous than myself." This was more of a warning than a threat. Yanji had experienced the malicious power of the demon sealed within his blade, and it was certainly nothing to scoff at. If he were to fall here, then the already dangerous Water Country would become exponentially worse.

Once he'd informed Kuzo of the dangers that came with fighting him, Yanjirou shot a burst of chakra through his legs and launched himself at the beast, breaking the ice behind him and leaving even less room for them to fight. The moment he was within range, he unleashed a flurry of chakra infused blows to attempt to stop the flow of whatever sinister aura was spewing forth from his opponent. Now that he was within melee range, the aforementioned aura became sickening to him, but it was simply something he would have to endure. At the end of his combo, the boy would unleash one final attack, utilizing both of his gauntlets simultaneously to send a massive burst of chakra through Kuzo's chest, before shuffling backwards - remaining close enough to be able to initiate another attack at moment's notice.

The boy's plan was simple, use as much of his chakra before his opponent had the chance to absorb and use it against him, and he hoped it would work.

Ting struggled but to no avail. Azure faced the same defeat. They were rendered useless for the time being. Kuzo was getting the stronger by the second and now commencing battle with the young boy who he already had intel on. The kid's chakra suppressing prowess was one of a kind.

The kid closed the distance fast, he handed seals from Kuzo summoned an ice wall jotting from the ground up, partying the flurry of strikes with his chakra blast would burst through only to be weakened by the ice and ultimately absorbed by Kuzo's daunting aura.

Kuzo: "Bahahaha! I know those tricks already Boy!"

The boy was in stance again, ready to attack once more. Kuzo would complete full hand seals now and erupting from an icy geyser was large dragon formed from high density chakra. He would have been to cocky and rushed the move, if Yanjirou was paying attention he could easily avoid it. But it even that, was followed by yet another cascading dragon! This one too would also miss its mark but shattering the platform on the battle field. Kuzo would have to focus chakra in his feet to stay afloat, now snarling that two of his attacks clearly off target.

Kuzo closed the distance with tai now, any contact could result in Yanjirou's chakra being drained to fuel more of Kuzo's high powered ninjutsu. He would send a an overhand right with his blades fin. This would have connected with a critical hit. He'd follow up with a left and a right upper cut, a one two. These would have missed its mark should Yanji be agile enough. Kuzo would click his teeth and create distance.

Kuzo: "You pest! Feed me your chakra!"

Yanji was disappointed to see that the entirety of his attack had failed, this creature would be more difficult to take down than he'd anticipated. The chakra absorption he was capable of was simply a nuisance, however, as Yanji was taijutsu oriented. Ice cracking at his feet alerted him to the water dragons about to break through, and the boy quickly jumped backwards, only to have the ice beneath him break with the second attack. His quick thinking allowed him to catch himself just before he feel - once more - into the freezing waters, but he did not manage to prevent himself from stumbling. The split second that he opened himself up for an attack, Kuzo closed the distance and sliced the boy across the chest, causing large amounts of blood to spill from his body.

Grimacing, the boy began to crouch down in pain, only to lean into the next to attacks - both connecting to his fresh wound. The young Byakko was thrown back, barely managing to stop himself on the surface, vision still blurry from pain. He couldn't slow his breathing, each one feeling more laborious, more painful - it had been a long time, if ever, that he'd taken a hit like this. There was no giving up though, there was no way for him to escape Kuzo's wrath should he try to run away, and no way to escape the guilt of abandoning the otters, no, the friends, that had risked life and limb to not only keep him safe, but to try and retrieve the pearl for their overlord.

"Hmmmm, good. That's the kind of determination you need to master us..." A voice spoke to him... Oddly familiar, yet so foreign - he felt as though he'd heard it sometime in the past. "Do not allow yourself to fall here, go. Bring honor to your name." A sensation of tranquility washed over him for a moment, his claws glowing a brilliant white as they slowly grew up his arm - to the shoulder. He knew he recognized that voice... It was Tetsuyaiba, and it seemed things were dire enough for her to pull the same stunt she did when fighting Onimaru.

"Very well, I wont disappoint you!" Yanjirou shouted, smiling as steam rose from his chest. The energy that now flowed through him accelerated his body's healing, and the gash on his chest ceased bleeding, and slowly began to close. Rising from his knee, the young Byakko focused his sights on the demon before him, it was time to banish him from this land...

Taking a few steps forward, water-like chakra began drizzling down his form, and - just as before - he launched himself forward to close the distance. This time, he would reappear beside Kuzo, attempting to drag him by trapping his neck in the bend of his right arm. If successful, he would throw the demon toward the surface of the water, and follow up by punching him in the chest with his left - sending condensed, needle like water into his being. With the extra assistance from Tetsuyaiba, Yanji's speed and prowess with ninjutsu were greatly increased, and would hopefully tip the scales.

Kuzo struck and he struck deep! The young boy was bleeding crimson upon the crystal blue icy surface and into even into the freezing waters. The boy looked as if he was ready to give up, Kuzo gave out a loud maniacal laugh tilting his head back. Ting and Azure were still fighting the ice when it just seemed to crack.

The orcas who were once held captive by Kuzo's genjutsu had come to aid in the battle. They struck the icy bonds with their glorious tridents until the otter companions were freed!

Ting and Azure: "Choujo! Sura!"

Choujo and Sura: "Ting! Azure!"

Choujo: "Sorry about earlier guys ya kn-"

Sura: "No! There is no time! It is of the essence now! We must prepare!"

Sura the female Orca warrior silenced everything and took stance to fight Kuzo. The rest of the marine mammals did as well stoically. They turned to face a Kuzo who was on the defensive and worried. A rejuvenated Yanjirou was coming fast!

Kuzo was caught with lariat and tossed down, seemingly right after he felt almost a piercing feeling in his chest, his mouth gaping spewing blood and saliva, his eyes widened in shock.

It was completely solid hit, a move that would seal a good amount of his water chakra away, as a result his curse seal went ballistic and immediately rose his body temperature. Kuzo would disappear into the water beneath them, masking his chakra. He took a moment to recover his chakra networks before he would attack again.

The marine mammals rushed over to Yanjirou. The Orcas having their heads down ashamed about earlier. Ting and Azure were ready to fight and encouraged the Orcas.

Azure: "We must act now! He cannot heal himself!"

Everyone took a stance, each of the animals performing a flurry of over 20 hand seals of different water friendly elements.

Choujo: "Crystal Style!"

Sura: "Vapor Style!"

Azure: "Ice Style!"

Ting: "Storm Style!"

The orcas' appearance went unnoticed as Yanji's attention was solely on the fight. His attack had landed, but it was clear to see that the beast was still alive - whether he was conscious or not. The boy simply nodded as the group approached, it was indeed the time to end this fight. There was no more room for failure, the attacks to come - from either party - would likely decide the outcome, and that simply left them all with a single option. Hit the bastard as hard as they can to ensure that he won't be able to heal himself ever again.

Are we ready then?" Tetsuyaiba questioned, seeing its host begin to gather his chakra.

"Of course..." There was no need for any explanation, the two were in synch enough to know what came next. Crouching down low, Yanjirou began accumulating chakra in every one of his limbs - enhancing their strength with every little bit he collected. Veins in his arms and legs began to push against his skin, making them visibly glow from the chakra. Emptying his mind, the young Byakko began to listen to every tiny noise in his surroundings, eyes darting from location to location as he searched for any sign of his foe's reappearance. The moment Kuzo reveal himself, he would dash toward the beast and attempt to impale him with both hands - ripping out his heart to prevent his healing factor from reactivating.

With his chakra now at its peak, and his senses keener than they'd ever been before, Yanjirou prepared to unleash his final attack. This encounter would likely be a story to tell for ages, its not every day you come across talking sea mammals after all...

Kuzo lay waiting, gathering himself. A sudden surge of immense energy from the surface made him more fearful than confident. Whatever was happening atop, was surely coming to a fast conclusion. That little brat's last attack left him wounded with minimal time to recover. He wasn't at his top strength, so taking the full brunt of this attack in a revenge counter would more than likely kill him before he could deflect it and launch it back. Kuzo held his head down with a defeated smirk. 'Heh, everyone has their limits right?' He coughed a thick clot of blood and mucus, his blood was draining faster than his healing abilities could help.

'At least.. they weren't a group of pushovers.' These were his final thoughts before his eyes grew wide and attentive. Adrenaline kicked in, this was his last breath. Kuzo inhaled, curling into a ball, his chakra levels would TOO peak, the young Byakko would notice this. Kuzo's own shadow of light emanated from the deep icy waters. Ting would shout to everyone, "Do not falter! Ready yourselves!" Kuzo would burst from the ice a deep purple flame encasing his body, it was his curse seal to revitalize him for a short time before it would eat away at his dying chakra coil.

Kuzo: "My final moments are here! COME WITH ME!"

Yanjirou's hyperactive reaction time lead him to be the first to strike. And his strike was true, except upon collision would be embraced and grappled by the dying fiend who coughed and winced at the piercing pain. Kuzo would drain some of the boy's chakra, though not a lot for Kuzo was already weakened beyond a state of healing, until he was high enough Kuzo would reveal a mouth full of sharpened teeth to sink into the shoulder of the boy, a ferocious bite, one to inflict a wound to remember. Before his pinnacle of height would release a chakra burst that would forcefully release Yanji from the shark, heart on gauntlet, but the curse seal still overriding Kuzo's physical and mental.

The first to react of course was Ting, who used the icy waters from below to barrel towards Kuzo in spiraling tendrils coursed with an electric current, these spirals quickly turned into what almost looked like sharp arcing lasers, a barrage of water infused lightning bolts! Azure was next, who's hands began to glow a snow white absorbing the icy atmosphere's source of water until it formed a giant Fuuma shuriken that then solidified into a snowy ice! "Azure Ice Style! Wottsu Shuriken!" Azure would toss the shuriken attached to several chakra strings to be guided if the initial strike would miss. At this time, Kuzo would burst out with chakra and send showering purple flame meteors at the warriors.

Next up were the Orcas! Choujo was quick at work, his chakra sprayed outward in a ruby mist and then solidified into a cloud of crystal shards that he could control and intercept the meteors with, protecting his comrades. Yet his main jutsu was not finished. After his hand signs he slammed his hand into the ground screaming, "Obsidian Twin Dragon Jutsu!" Suddenly arising from the ice, two dark crystal dragons of the same nature entered this plane of existing roaring loudly and flapping their massive wings. The cave they were in began to crumble, the walls cracking and degrading form ensuing battle. Choujo jumped onto the back of one his dragons, Sura jumped on the other and they closed in on Kuzo mid air.

The lightning bolts struck true, Kuzo yelled out in pain being stifled, his left arm was soon severed by the Fuuma shuriken, Azure redirected it once more with the chakra strings and impaled him in the back, more blood spewing from the shark man's mouth. Sura and Choujo were closing in having some near misses but thanks to the crystals they were saved, still a bit scorched from the shrouds of dissipating flames, but they trekked on. Choujo charged forward while Sura finally completed her seals. She gave a hard, "Hmpf!" as she was seen punching nothing but thin air... Moments later one would see in the near distance of Kuzo a pressurized vapor hard as solid rock had formed from seemingly out of nowhere and struck Kuzo who gave out his last bellow, being sent flying into the Orcas. Kuzo would glow once more, from a dark shadowy figure to a bright light. His was done, out of chakra. But his cuse seal's explosive nature left a last trump card... Self detonation.

Although happy to see that his strike had struck - hand already wrapping around Kuzo's still beating heart - the feeling was fleeting as Yanjirou's chakra was drained. A sudden feeling of exhaustion came over him, even the small amount that was absorbed was enough to tip him over now - mostly due to how taxing it is to sustain his connection to Tetsuyaiba. Unable to respond because of this, the beast managed to take a bite out of the young Byakko's shoulder before a chakra burst would separate the boy from Kuzo - heart still in hand, and gushing blood with its final few beats.

Quickly losing consciousness as he fell, Yanji was unable to properly catch himself or observe the volley of attacks that would ultimately be the end of the fiend they faced. Time seemingly slowed down as his shoulder struck the ice beneath him first, mostly breaking the fall and preventing any fatal damage. Laying unconscious for a few moments, the last remaining bit of his energy would allow for his own healing factor to heal his more serious wounds slightly, before Tetsuyaiba returned to its dormant state and clinked against the ice as it reverted to a small curved dagger.

Once Yanjirou came to, he would see that Kuzo had been defeated, letting out a sigh of relief and placing his hands behind his head as support. The cold of the ice did not even phase him after the battle that had ensued, likely nothing would for quite some time. After allowing himself a moment's rest, he would sit up and look for his allies, wondering if they'd acquired their pearl in the time that he was unconscious. Struggling to his feet, the young Byakko would approach the group of sea mammals and smile as a sort of congratulations.

"Well we did it, and with no casualties it seems. I don't think we could have asked for a better outcome." He said, coughing up a small amount of blood as his body still struggled to repair what damage had been done. There was no denying that the wounds inflicted upon him today would leave a lasting scar, especially that last bite... Clearly, Kuzo did not intend to die without one final struggle.

Kuzo's detonation left with a boom. The cave rattled but the explosion was diverted with the floating crystals. The aftermath left the mammals winded, heaving for breath. Each took a look at the fallen Byakko who eventually rose to his feet. His comment of triump was backed up with head nods and thumbs up. Ting was already retrieving the pearl and did so successfully.

Ting: "I've got it! Let's high tail it out!"

The Orcas look to him with concern, Sura approaching Yanjirou slowly. She'd offer him a hand to help him stand and escape the collapsing cavern.

-If Yanji take the help would be tossed over the shoulder of the Orca.
-If Yanji denies the help will have to fend for himself in the escape.

Sura: "Let us make haste!"

Azure: "Well, have you decided? Will make you a pact with us, Yanjirou?"

Swiftly the mammals began to dart out of the cave, pearl in hand. It would be a clean escape weaving through some twist and turns, occasionally dodging icy stalactites falling from cavern ceiling. Once free and above ground in the frozen wonderland of mist. The question would be asked again.

Ting: "So, Yanjirou?"

Ting would hold the pearl outward to him.

-If Yanjirou accepts and signs, via chakra with his finger, the mammals would document this and bid him farewell, immediately returning the pearl to the overlord.

-If Yanjirou denies, the mammals would bid him farewell and good luck, but remain in the said position to talk.

Haziness prevented Yanjirou from being able to tell that the cave they were in was beginning to collapse, but the worried expression that he was barely able to make out on the Orca's face was enough to tell him that something was wrong. Taking the whale's hand, he was quickly thrown over its shoulder and carried out, spikes and chunks of ice narrowly missing them as they fled.

Upon resurfacing, the boy was set back on his feet, where he allowed himself a moment to recuperate and think of an answer to their offer. It was certainly enticing, but...

"I appreciate your offer, but I have already been given enough payment for my assistance. I recognize your powers, and understand that an alliance could benefit me greatly, but that it simply not what I sought by coming out here." Perhaps his explanation would not make much sense to the mammals, it didn't make much sense to him either, but that was simply how he felt. They granted him the opportunity to learn more about Water Country's depths, as well as two separate contracts. "Truthfully, I feel it is I who should be indebted to all of you, for giving me such a fine tour." Yanji attempted a laugh, only to cough as his injuries still restricted his body. Standing as straight as he could - hoping to prevent concern - the young Byakko would turn and begin walking away.

"Perhaps we will meet each other again some day, but for now I must go. Farewell, dear friends. Keep safe." These would be his parting words, as he located the smoke from his fire that still burned. That would be the start of finding his way out of this wonderland, and it was likely that he left something behind...
Contract Refused, Topic Left.
It was fun! :D
