Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Physical Description
Rinko is a small child with short brown hair and large brown eyes. She wears glasses as an accessory. Just like her father, Tanuki Kechi, Rinko comes from a long line of Tanuki shinobi. Though her blood is certainly weaker than her ancestors, she still retains some of their trademark features, most prominently in the form of ears and a tail. However, knowing that some don't take her seriously with her more furry-esque appendages, Rinko will use transformation jutsu to keep them hidden during dealings with more important individuals, or with those that seem uncomfortable with her youkai features. She often wears simple shirts, and skirts with pantaloons. Occasionally she will wear more traditional Japanese attire to impress people that prefer that style. She always has her handy dandy notebook to write down any money dealing she makes for the day. She also has been seen carrying around a smoking pipe and a jug of alcohol. This is not for her own use or consumption, but is instead used by her to sweeten up adults when she tries to swindle them.

Character's Mental Description
Eerily similar to her father, Rinko is a greedy little lady. The acquisition of money is her top priority, and little else keeps her interest. That being said, she has a very cheerful disposition. She has a friendly smile for all she meets, though it is unsurprising that she holds ulterior motives. She will chat with anyone, though the topic will usually find its way to money eventually. Emulating her father as best she can, Rinko looks to the future rather than the present. A loan today will lead to profit tomorrow. However, despite her above-average intellect, Rinko plays the fool. It is far easier to claim ignorance if others believe her to be of lesser intelligence. However, this facade on occasion will fall to reveal a rather devious demeanor.

History
Rinko never knew where she was born or who her mother was. Her earliest memories are of her father and the Tanuki family household. When she was old enough to question, Kechi gave her dismissive answers. "She's a lovely woman. You have her eyes. She has a great set of personalities." It didn't take long for Rinko to learn not to ask. While she couldn't deny her curiosity, in the end she didn't care to push the issue. Her father was a fine parent, and when she couldn't get attention from her father, her grandfather was always around to entertain her.

It was inevitable that she would be placed into the academy. She had been born with her tail and tanuki ears, a sure sign that she had plenty of chakra potential even in her infancy. It was gradual, but by age ten she had fully realized her youkai blood. While she couldn't take on a demon form like her father and grandfather, she had the same aptitude for Genjutsu that they did. After officially being enrolled into the academy, Rinko's father began teaching her the finer points of being a money savvy demon. In order to put people's minds at ease, Rinko was first taught how to hide her demonic traits with transformation jutsu. Once she had mastered that, Kechi moved on to strengthening his daughter's mind. He used simple Genjutsu on her to fortify her mental resilience. While some might see this as cruel and unusual punishment, Kechi never used it in a malicious way. Rinko understood this, and was accepting of the training. Less mentally strenuous exercises came in the form of tail whipping. While fighting with their tails was not the preferred way the Tanuki family fought, it made for a wonderful last resort should they find themselves without their usual weapons.

Two years later and Rinko is continuing her academic studies. What the future holds for her is yet to be seen.​

[fontsize="12"]Tanuki Aura<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
A person in touch with their greedy side is completely surrounded by a pervading feel of luxury that inspires avarice in even the strongest of shinobi. Though this gives them the power to make their enemies spend money before them, the aura of stinginess does make it hard to win the trust of others.
Effect: At the start of each round, the user checks their Genjutsu DC vs the Genjutsu Save of all individuals in battle. Succeeding this roll grants the user Alignment Advantage over the target (normally +10% Damage dealt to, -10% damage taken by), including against Holy targets. This automatically affects Clones/Creations, does not stack against targets the user would have advantage against anyways, and does not apply to those with the Fearless ability or other similar effect. Lasts for the duration of the round.

Third Eye<i></i> - Modification (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up, requires Sixth Sense
By unlocking the mortal restraints on their mind, the tanuki shinobi can gain use of the third eye, the super sense beyond all senses.
Effect: Failing an Awareness check grants a single Re-Roll with a +1 bonus in the user's favor. This doesn't stack with similar effects, and only works once per round.

Dreadforce<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
The very chakra of these tanuki shinobi is tainted with greed and eats at the wills of those around them. A tanuki has no trouble using this to their advantage to evoke hallucinations and other nightmarish visions to those in their presence.
Effect: The user's Genjutsu are considered Cursed. Cursed Genjutsu may target individuals even if the user is unaware of them via a Blindshot. A Genjutsu that succeeds through this effect is always considered Partial Hit, even if fully effective.

Mind Ripper<i></i> - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
By grabbing a victim’s head and channeling greedy energy and miserly will into their mind, a tanuki shinobi can traumatize their opponent, lowering their will power. The constant mental pain is enough to wear down the wills of even the most courageous of would-be heroes.
Effect: This costs 1.5 Ap. This makes a basic strike Called Shot to a single target's Head using Melee Accuracy. On hit, this inflicts -3 to Genjutsu Save for 3 rounds. During this time, the victim becomes vulnerable to Demonic Aura (if the user has it), even if the victim has the Fearless ability, or other similar effect. This is treated as a B-Rank Will Genjutsu that does not take up a Sense Slot, but may be healed and dispelled as such.

Avarice<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
The unrivaled greed of those with Tanuki Ancestry is a terrifying sight to behold, and this passion can be channeled into highly destructive bursts of energy that only grows their stinginess, often to the point where simply being nearby can be enough to cause trauma.
Effect: For +15% Cp, a Cursed Taijutsu or Genjutsu attack becomes infused with malice, dealing +5% damage against a target that has hit the user during the current round. If the user has the Demonic Aura passive, those under its effects will automatically take illusionary damage equal to 10% of the damage dealt (This is not an attack, and is not Cursed damage. Uses highest damage dealt if the attack hits multiple targets. Does not affect the original target).

Midas Touch<i></i> - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Nothing is perhaps more terrifying than a desperate tanuki. By embracing their greedy powers in a dire situation, these shinobi can easily turn a grim situation into their favor via sheer terrifying strength.
Effect: For one full round, any Cursed Taijutsu attacks which utilize Melee Accuracy have their damage and CP costs doubled. While under the effects of Death Touch any other damage bonuses the user has are ignored. Death Touch can only be used once every other round and twice per battle.

Wealth's Embrace<i></i> - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can be taken up to two times [Taken 2/2 Times]
Those with Tanuki heritage are often gifted with enhanced capabilities in some shape; perhaps manifesting as an odd mutation, or special ability of some sort. Over time, someone with tanuki heritage can learn how to best use this skill in many ways to suit their situation.
Effect: The user chooses either Genjutsu or Taijutsu (stated in their Dojo); when making a Cursed attack of this type, the user gains a +1 bonus; this applies to checks, as well. Taking this boost twice does not increase this to +2, but instead grants +1 to both types if they are Cursed . This +1 bonus applied to Demonic Aura as well.

Tanuki Blessing<i></i> - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can be taken up to three times [Currently Taken 2/3 Times]
The mind of a tanuki is much less susceptible to attack than that of a mere mortal, restricting Genjutsu from targeting them too easily. Being so alien to most forms of chakra, a practitioner of the mind arts will find them harder to snare.
Effect: +1 Genjutsu Save.

Tanuki's Trick<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (3 points)
Greedy shinobi are cunning by nature, and often cannot help but enjoy catching their prey off guard. To let one's guard down around them is to give the tanuki an open invitation for all kinds of sales pitches.
Effect: By paying +20% CP on both, the user may combo a Taijutsu and Genjutsu. The order does not matter, but the follow-up Jutsu will target all those hit by the preceding Jutsu, and cannot be a higher rank than the Jutsu used prior to it. Cannot combo a Taijutsu with a Taijutsu, or Genjutsu with Genjutsu. May be used every other round.

Natural Weapon - Passive (2 Points)
Some shinobi have more than their blood to show their heritage, some even developed such traits that can be used as an actual weapon, ranging from sharpened claws, deadly wings, or a powerful tail.
Effect: The user designates a single weapon in their Dojo; this weapon is treated as passively equipped whenever the user is not wielding any other weapon, and does not prevent the usage of handseals. Attacks with this Natural Weapon are considered Cursed. Natural Weapon is immune to effects which may cause the user to unequip or change weapons, and if multiple 'passively equipped' weapons are present, the user must state one.

Form of the Tanuki<i></i> - Jutsu (1 point, 1 to rank up)
Restriction- A-Rank and up
This technique is the ultimate incarnation of a tanuki ninja’s tie to his or her miserly ancestry. Releasing all bonds and restrictions, they unleash their true greedy nature, becoming a terrifying being of power and awe. The after affects are disastrous, however.
Rank 1: While active, the user is considered Cursed, and remains so regardless of what other techniques are used during this time. Additionally, they have +1 Secondaries and deal +5% damage. Damage taken by the user is reduced by 10%; this reduced damage is converted into CP for the user. Lasts up to 3 rounds.
Rank 2: While active, the user is considered Cursed, and remains so regardless of what other techniques are used during this time. Additionally, they have +2 Secondaries and deal +10% damage. Damage taken by the user is reduced by 15%; this reduced damage is converted into CP for the user. Lasts up to 3 rounds.

Cost: 3 AP and 2,400 HP to initiate. 4% Max Hp/Rnd

- This counts as a Chakra Armor.
- The user is considered Dark, and remains so regardless of what other techniques are used during this time.
- Can only be used twice per battle, and requires a full round of cooldown between uses.

Class 1: Swordsmanship Basics: The Art of Blade

Day of Devotion Kissing Booth = Rinko opens a kissing booth in hopes to swindle singles out of their money. Instead, her emotions are manipulated by the Empathetic twins Saka and Soko. That day, Rinko receives her first kiss from Suzuki Setsu. Will this blossom into love? Or will Setsu become a toy for the tanuki?

Being a "Model" Citizen = Rinko tries hosting a photo shoot. When no one shows up, Rinko's motivation takes a hit. Perhaps she was kidding herself in trying to be like her father.

No Bear Gives a Care = After her devastating failure, Rinko shuts herself away in her room. During that time, she devotes herself to self-study and slowly begins mastering jutsu. After a month, she is finally able to perform metal, paper, sand, and wood jutsu. Upon witnessing Rinko's display of power, her father and grandfather worry for her future. Kechi decides to be more active in Rinko's life, while Koukatsu devises a devious plot.

Chickety Chakra, the Chakra System = Rinko was forced to take a class taught by her father. There, she met Haku Hasumi, who she tried to make her friend. Suzuki Setsu also attended the class, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. That is, until Setsu transformed into Rinko for his final class participation point. Furious, the girl attempted to smack him with a Wood Hammer. Instead, the two had their second kiss. Will this be a running gag? Or will Kechi find a way to separate the children?

Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience = Takaki Saeko was tasked by her roommate Osuteno to find a mednin-in-training that was within the Magdalene Order. When she went to Tanuki Koukatsu for the forgery needed to enter the order, the old man instead wrote in his granddaughter. The two made their way to Sasorigakure where Rinko was entered into the cloister and given a new name, Novice Sister Emiria. The tanuki girl did her best to seek out the kunoichi and gain favor with the other novice sisters. Things were proving difficult and she was almost dragged away from the mission by Saeko. But within the short time she'd been there, Rinko had grown up a bit, seeing the world in a perspective she'd overlooked for a long time. She offered for the girls to come to Kumogakure, but was politely declined by all. Rinko was understanding, believing that all the girls had their reasons and didn't question. Little did she know, most of her new friends would eventually face her as enemies.

Holly Jolly Profit = Kechi and Rinko attempt to start a new holiday in Kumo. When no one takes the bait, Kechi reveals a secret he's been keeping about Rinko's mother. It seems Rinko has been cursed like her mother to be incapable of handling money. Kechi reassures Rinko that he will not leave her like he did his lover, and the two part ways for the day in a melancholy mood.
