Type of Mission: Self Mod Mission
Mission Rank: E
Expected Participants: Sara
Brief Description: Range Field Maintenance: Students at the academy practice with kunai, shuriken and other ranged weapons on a daily basis. Well, the fields used, mostly the targets, tend to break down over time. The job is to repair the targets and fix any broken equipment. As long as the job gets time, there is no time limit set except to finish by the end of the weekend.
Another E rank mission for the books. Sara had no problem doing such, as it brought in some much needed money, and occasionally, some training in some manner or another. The last few missions she was given dealt with an elderly woman that she was helping with a few chores around the house. What she learned from there was minimal, as she had decent enough people skills. Respect the client, and be courteous. Fortune smiled on her as the client was quite gentle. Though, she would like to think if the client had been a little more, barbaric or harsh, she would have dealt with the situation in a proficient manner.
This time around, she was going to be doing some basic maintenance on the training grounds of the academy. She had never put much thought into the matter, but it made sense to her. Everyday, for hours and hours, students and perhaps even graduates came to these fields to hone their skills in weapon throwing or bow shooting or the sorts. Someone had to maintain the field, fix what was destroyed or whatever. She had never seen anyone repairing the mess that was the range. After all, students weren't great at the trade just yet. Even she missed constantly, taking out chunks of the target from missing or having to pull her kunai from the wood, not to mention the straw targets.
This time around the lesson was going to be a little less forward. She was helping the village and students out. It was a lesson in public services. Sara watched as several students were tossing kunai at several target down range. She walked behind them, watching as they hit the second inward circle of the target again and again. She was still working on hitting the outer circle, making most of her shots at least on the straw target, usually. She watched there form, and methods of throwing, some different from others. Some bouncing out, but hitting the center, some going fast, some straight, some spun, some spiraled. Most hit home, but she was surprised in the different methods. One guy was throwing two at a time pretty well. It was interesting to watch.
After about 20 or so minuets, the group cleared out, and she grabbed a basket near a storage room to the side and headed onto the field. She first picked up the straw that was strewn about. That it was the targets turn. The targets were bigger than her. She looked passed it barely, making sure no one was entering the room. It would have been easy to miss her, and see a moving target that would be a nice challenge. After taking down half the targets, she grabbed a new covering and re-stuffed them, making sure they were flat on the front and back by jumping on them. Than she had to head over to the targets and check if they were in good shape. Seems someone had repaired them not long ago so she just reattached the targets to the poles and repeated the assignment on the others. Just as she pulled half down, some academy students walked in. She greeted them and asked them for some patience. She finished the last target and they helped her put them up so they could begin sooner. It was an easy mission, and she managed to finish it in about two hours, leaving the range to head to her home for some much needed studying. She had a lot to catch up on for the next day.
