Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Nobu leaned against the bar casually as he looked at the noise going around him, the betting floor was busy and the hustle and bustle of the day to day running of the Casino, the tables had the ladies behind them as he scanned across looking for any trouble, the sound of chips clattering on the table was beautiful to Nobu as he took in the whole scene around him. It was clear that he was going to have to be careful running this place but that was only half of the operation, as he sat at the bar, normally spending most of his days inside of the office he knew full well that he did need to get hands-on and experience the real world around him.

"Sir, at the moment the Casino is nearing capacity, it seems that today is a busy day and the tables are nearly full should we open up more of the tables, I can swap the girls walking around and move them onto the poker tables?"

Nobu glanced across to the girl, as he looked at her the huge bunny ears made him almost laugh, but they all knew that the girl's outfit was just to attract more attention, as he looked down the red one-piece outfit shined in the light, unlike the other girls in black she wore red as the floor manager. The black fishnets finishing off the look with some heels. He did admit that the choice of clothes had been down to the girls, but the uniform wasn't something he would complain about. Since the changes, the girls had felt more confident in themselves and already had been making the betters lose focus on the game and thus lose focus on their money. With profits on the high, a wage increase had seen the staff happy to work here with him.

"Please do Kiko, also nice work this month the girls seem to be making more tips, and the clan has seen a huge uptake in money coming in. I must admit you can run the floor well, after all, I expected nothing less, see the girls take home an extra payslip this month for their hard work and that includes for yourself."

"Thank you Nobu, I am sure they will all be pleased"

Suddenly her happy-go-lucky face dropped as a more dark demeanor came over her as she leaned into him brushing up across his cheek to his ear as she whispered the following words.

"We have had new shipments in, and frost has given us a tidy offer towards purchasing of weapons, the trade just needs your seal of approval and we can get that trade agreement sorted. The profit is huge and the margins of error would below, I am sure you will approve and the numbers are good"

Leaning away from Nobu she went back to her dirty sell and smiled at him giggled and walked away the heels tapping on the floor as she did so. It seemed business was good these days.

The girl walked through the streets of the city's entertainment district, they were flooded with neon lights that bathed the streets in sickly bright shades or greens and pinks, she knew where was heading but in the early evening, the district looked completely different and Sumiko was doing her best to keep her bearings, there was a pain the fill her as she walked, not physical pain, but the phantom ache from the procedure, she still had nightmares about it but with the help of Za and Shion things were starting to get better but it was going to take a while before she would stop waking them up screaming. She could hear the music and the noise of the patrons that sat inside through the oak door, it was good to see that Nobu managed to find a replacement so quickly and one with suck high quality, pushing the doors open she was instantly assaulted but the overwhelming stimulation inside, the cling of coins and chips, the sound of the band playing, the scent of vanilla the filled the space, the golden finishes and fixture that made the place look like a palace than a Casino.

Nobu, you have been busy She smiled letting herself soak in the atmosphere, while Sumiko didn't know an awful lot about gambling she knew a lot about luxury and he had managed to capture that perfectly, and after all you make a man feel like a king, he will spend like a king. She walked down the grand staircase into the main floor looking at the patrons as they were fussed over by the female staff. The outfits are a nice touch she giggled to herself as she made her way over to the bar seeing Nobu waiting there, he sat there oozing charisma.

"I like what you have done with the place," While her face would have been that of confidence, her voice would tell another story though she was hoping the Nobu wouldn't notice "Looks like business is booming though, I'm impressed," She raised a gloved hand signalling to the bartender for a drink as she took a seat next to the male.

Nobu listened to Sumiko turned up to the conversation, she seemed to have changed a lot since the last time that they had a conversation and even he knew that she had changed the question was how had she changed, and what was she actually hiding, that would be what Nobu would have to find out, after all, it was his job to make sure he knew about everyone in the clan, as he looked towards the crowds he nodded as he listened to the talk about business coming through for them, after all, it was clear that he had been expanding the casino reach out there to make sure clients enjoyed their time around each other. As he looked towards Sumiko he lifted the glass up for her as he gave her cheers slightly.

"Indeed, you will take over this operation and I expect it to stay busy, but that isn't the reason I brought you here Sumiiko, I actually wanted to talk about this issue."

He waited for the split second the bartender passed a glass over, Sumiko hand would come out it was only human nature, as he flashed forward pinning it to the bar, his free hand grabbing a knife from the belt he wore, as he brought it down directly through the top of her hand, driving the knife into the table it pinned her hand in place as Nobu's eyes never left her's as he smirked to himself leaning back he let her take care of removing it before sipping his drink and speaking the next few words.

"Shall we talk about why there is a lack of blood? Or more importantly, the fact that you are probably still needing to understand how this whole situation works? At the moment I would put you at less than efficient correct me if I am wrong?"

Sumiko looked Nobu in the eyes as the knife was driven through her hand, she looked down at it a sighed pulling to from the bar and giving it back to Nobu, raising her hand up she looked at the ruined glove before taking it off and leaving it on the surface in front of her.
"These were new you know," her voice was one of an annoyance than anything else. "You know you could have been like "Hi Sumiko, heard that you're a human puppet now," rather than just stabbing me." She laughed a little, the lack of feeling was still something she had not quite gotten used to.

"I would rather not go into details as to how this happened if you don't mind, still a sore subject," She picked up the glass, drinking the contents, she couldn't taste but she was sure it would have been one of the finer liquors. "Looks like nothing gets passed you though, I have been struggling to say the least, up until recently I couldn't even walk but things have been improving day by day, Za has been a big help but I feel like I am not recovering at the speed I want to be, don't get me wrong I am in no way incapable of looking after myself or the Clan but I do notice that I am not a capable as I was," She knew that there was no point telling Nobu how broken her mind was, he was not the emotionally invested person if you could fight you were useful and Sumiko didn't want to become obsolete "So if you know any way to help me get back to what I was or heck even better then please, I am open to suggestion, She turned in her seat to face Nobu

Shrugging at her words he looked to her as she spoke it seemed that she was still adjusting and frankly in the eyes of Nobu he was not happy to see how long she was taking to adjust. He needed speed and people he could rely on to work within the Clan, Sumiko was failing in both those aspects with this recent change, first hiding it and secondly not knowing how to use it. He sighed to himself as he stood up from the bar sliding the drink cross to the man who gently placed it away. He knew full well that something had to be done to rectify this issue.

"Follow me, I think I can at least get you up to where you were, and you're not understanding how much you are actually lacking in both abilities and patience with yourself. This issue should have been resolved as soon as it became apparent, yet here we are in a situation like this it's not a good situation to be in and one that I need to sort out if I do say so myself."

Nobu stood up and walks with Sumiko taking her to the office and shutting the door behind both of them, as he gestured for her to take a seat on one of the couches he went over to a bookcase as he began to run his finger across the spine of each of the books knowing full well that each one had knowledge that was hidden from most people. That didn't matter to him as he was fully aware that the keys to this technique were inside of one of these books. Grabbing the book that he needed he brought it over to the coffee table and sat down with Sumiko. Leaning towards the woman he opened the pages to try and find the correct ones. Stopping on a page he turned it around and looked towards her.

"Here, see this it is instructions on how this new Chakra network works, we need to get you to be quick to control every limb, these strings need to move before you need them to, you need to let them flow to every joint, recover seconds before you do, it needs to become your body and for that, the work we have to do will be key so let's start, I want you to summon a puppet, make it dance, elegant without noise, you won't be able to straight away that is a fact, but slowly you should be able to control it, at the same time as you make this puppet dance. Read the book, one sound, you start from the beginning again and go back to the start."

Nobu leaned back in his chair with the instructions given to Sumiko it was now only a matter of seeing how well she actually did the task that was given to her, the key was patience and learning this would be hard for someone like Sumiko borderline infuriating.

The female got up and followed Nobu into a back-office she was going to lie the man's words hurt a little but at the same time she was pretty sure that it was what she needed to hear, her method wasn't working so maybe it was time to switch things up a bit, she watched a Nobu pulled a book from a bookcase and hand it to her, she took it from him skimming over the words a little as he gave her further instructions, to her it did seem an impossible task, her puppets were made of wood, getting them to move silently wasn't something that she thought they could even do but at this point, she was will to give it a go. She took off her jacket and rolled up the sleeve of her shirt before summoning Odoriko, she held the book in one hand and the other she tried her best controlling the Charka strings going to her puppet, Sumiko managed to get about a paragraph in before the puppet made a noise, she rolled her eyes and started again as Nobu ordered. She started again, twisting and manipulating the puppet as it danced on the ground it was going better than before, however, Sumiko was aware that she was focusing more on the puppet then on the book, turning her attention back to the page she almost instantly lost her focus on the puppet hearing it clatter about at the end of its string, she sighed this time, getting more and more frustrated, she didn't have time to play Nobu's games, she wanted to be a useful member of the clan again not a puppet dance expert.

Fighting the urge to throw the puppet at the wall she took a deep breath, from what little information that she had gained from the one paragraph that she had read about a dozen times, the skills that she now had didn't need hands to control puppets, they could be directly controlled via another method, it was a shame that she couldn't seem to get that far in that texts to gather what that other method was.

Nobu leaned back in his chair as he continued to watch Sumiko try and understand any of what was happening currently to herself. As he looked at her he just leaned back in the chair it seemed that things would be getting difficult from here on out. AS he leaned back and just took in the sound she wanted to see how far she would really get, it was all about understanding, patience, and learning how the threads really worked, after all without an understanding of ones own abilities and the task at hand, it would fail every time it seemed that slowly she was getting further and further each time.

"Practise is what this will require, control more than anything you need to be purely focused on the strings, what you are doing with them. You will fail every time without that, and without passing this there is no place inside the clan for you Sumiko. Think of it as harsh if you want, but without control over your own body, how do you expect to have control over anything. A Casino is very much like you should be working, strings making the whole thing connect to one center, and that center must be calm and collect, without that center is will break."

Nobu went back to just watching her and seeing if she would take his words on board the book would help her, but realistically in any of these situations, you can only help yourself that was the way the world worked and even Nobu understood and acknowledges that. He waited for a few moments to see what would come next and see if she would understand the truth behind the strings that she controlled. If she could understand that she would excel in the future. Sumiko wasn't on her own but she did need to understand that she was the only one that could make these changes possible.

Sumiko wasn't going to pretend that wasn't getting frustrated by this but Nobu's words cut through her like a knife, she had nobody left but the Clan, they were her family, the only family that she now had she couldn't lose them too, she couldn't lose Za. She clenched her fist, she was filled with a new sense of determination and drive, this was now life or death, she had already rolled over and given up once she was not about to do it again, she closed her eyes taking a deep breath clearing her mind of every doubt every though, every lingering fear of what she had become, this was her now, there was no going back, no returning to hows she was before, she needed to embrace what she was or she would never be able to go forwards. In the darkness Sumiko let herself go, breaking apart the pieces of herself that she was before and letting them go into the breeze, it was then the saw light, bright blue strings creeping from her chest towards the lifeless puppet.

Slowly, Sumiko opens her eyes, feeling connected to her creation like never before, she moved the puppet left to right, feeling the same sense of control as if she was moving her own limbs, she smiled, finally, she was getting somewhere. She started to move the puppet dancing elegance and grace as if it was herself dancing in front of the man, she picked up the book reading over the paragraphs and pages with confidence, a few minutes passed before Sumiko place the book on Nobu's desk, only then discovering that the book had nothing to do with had he wanted to do, it was her that needed to learn to let go to learn to improve.

"So what now?"

Nobu looked towards Sumiko as he watched her slowly learning, slowly understand in those few seconds it took time and he knew and understand that, it was something that she would have to get used to and only she could do that given the fact that her body had completely changed. He leaned back in the chair as he looked towards her as she spoke it seemed that she was wanting direction and wanting to have all the answers handed to her in a place, unfortunately, that wasn't his call to make or an answer he could actually give Sumiko accurately and even he knew that much.

"I honestly cannot give you an answer to that question Sumkio, what now is down to you and you alone. Take the book away with you and make sure that you understand it fully. You need to come to terms with everything that is happening and need to make sure that you are aware of how the world will be changing, Learn to control this power and make sure that you understand it that is the key to survival Sumiko, I have given you the ability to learn the secrets with this book, it's down to you to do the homework and the hard work moving forward."

With that Nobu stood up leaving Sumiko to her own thoughts and own decisions to make on the matter, he could only guide her hand she would be the one that had to actually choose what to do with that information and how to use it. At the end of the day, this was her responsibility and he knew full well that she would excel at learning to control this power. He knew full well that the future would be interesting for the Clan they had all changed since growing up and he understood that.

The girl looked at Nobu and listened to him speak, the words he spoke for correct, she had to make her own way now, she had a freedom that she had never had before, it was down to her now. It was a daunting feeling but she had already been through so much to get to this point she was sure that she would be fine, watching the man leave the room she looked at the book that she has placed back on his desk picking it up, she knew that this held at least some of the answers to the questions that she had but it wouldn't hold all of them, those answers would only come in time, Sumiko walked back over to where she had left her jacket, rolling down her sleeves and putting in back on, taking the time to examine the room.
This is going to need some redecorating before I take this place over She smiled to herself looking at the none ruined glove that was still on her hand, she took it off placing it on the desk, she knew that to help her come to terms of what she was not she would have to stop hiding it, walking towards the exit Sumiko took one last look at the room before returning to the main floor there was a lot that she needed to do.
