Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

After the long bouts of travelling Tatsuo decided that, at least he, would sleep in today. A happy change for Yaboi he was sure but he wondered how Ryo and Saito would take it when there sensei wouldn't have left the bed by noon. At one point he ended up calling up room service to the room to change out the blinds. Considering one was just a bit too bright when the sun hit it just right. Every shinobi had to catch up on their sleep, Tatsuo included.

After a long morning of doing absolutely nothing at all, Tatsuo finally felt the motivation to rise from his bed and begin the day. Stretching his arms over his head he made his way out of bed and over to the small kitchen area that was included in their suite. Still lazy eyed and drowsy he walked over to the fridge. Opening it up and starting for quite a while to no avail. He wanted food but didn't feel like cooking. Finally settling on cereal he grabbed both the milk and a box of Ninj-o's. Pouring himself a hearty bowl overflowing with milk he went to the table and began to eat. Finally he would start to figure out what all the Genin were up to.

While he wasn't ignoring them per say, had they tried to bother him this morning, mostly Ryo and Saito as he was sure Yaboi was enjoying sleeping in just like his sensei. He would've ignored them for the most part. But after some hours of sleep and some food in his belly he finally felt strong enough to speak to people. Speaking idly, hoping one of them would listen to him and do the work in wrangling up the rest, he said "So I think today we're going to work on teamwork. Not that ours is bad or anything, but in a fight we've got to be able to work together. I know Ryo and Yaboi have it, but the rest of us haven't really meshed together." Taking another bite of his cereal he thought to himself on how to word it. "But we've all got to get the point where we know what we're good at and know what we're bad at. That way, eventually, when we're in trouble we'll have a plan of what to do."

Ryo had spent the entire morning throwing a Kunai at the wall, and it had left scarring, not his fault that Tatsuo chose to sleep in rather than do anything with his team, he would throw it and retrieve it. He would have continued hitting wall over and over, looking out at the window thinking about how he’s wasted the day. He went up to the marks and shrugged, ‘Tatsuo-sensei will take care of it.’ He does know wood jutsu no reason he won’t be able to repair it by himself, hopefully no one’s a tatty tale….

Hearing Tatsuo finally get up from his bed he quickly moved over to placing his kunai into his bag, looking around the room for a chair, he quickly grabbed one and dragged it outside with him to the balcony and sat out there looking at the city and closed the door closed and sat outside absorbing the sun’s rays with great leisure, he smiled and tilted his head back, closing his eyes he felt relaxed, the sun kept him warm and he kicked his feet up to the railings, he moved his hands behind his head, He turned to look back to see what Tatsuo was doing. Watching him eat his breakfast, he reassumed his original position. “If Tatsuo-sensei wants to do something he’ll come out and get me.”

Saito had been up for hours, and with Tatsuo sleeping in all morning, the young cloudie felt like the suite was just... too small to contain him. He did all his normal things -- ate a small breakfast in preparation for what he hoped would be a much larger breakfast later, read his books, and otherwise did his best to occupy himself. Eventually he went to the balcony and just watched people go by with their morning business. He hated sitting around doing nothing cooped up in a building, no matter how luxurious it happened to be.

The child looked at the condiment shaker system and chafed a bit. Not being able to go off on his own proved incredibly bothersome, it turned out. Yaboi couldn't possibly be up, which left Ryo... and Ryo seemed a bit busy apathetically marking up the walls with his kunai. Saito didn't care about the walls -- Tatsuo would deal with that later -- but still felt full of energy.

"What's up with sensei today? He doesn't want to do anything with us!" he asks the young Uchiha, having walked up the wall to the ceiling and begun playing with the chandelier. It looked delicate, and proved to be a little bit breakable. Oops. "Maybe that means we're free for the day? Let's go out and do something, he'll find us if he wants to do anything. Let's go eat at least!" If Yaboi woke up before Tatsuo got himself together, he'd be invited along. The suite was so boring today!

Depending on whether Ryo and/or Yaboi were game, some of not all of the boys would knock over their salt shakers and be nowhere to be found when Tatsuo finally started talking about team exercises, exploring the city and definitely eating something tasty in Saito's case.

The day prior the young Yaboi had procured a few extra bed sheets, blankets and pillows and spent a small portion of the night constructing the ultimate hyperbolic sleep chamber. Also known as a pillow fort. Within the deep dark reaches of this monstrous pillow fort lay the dreaming shinobi Yaboi, happily resting his head upon a pristine feather filled pillow and wrapped up in two large blankets. The boy was happily snoozing away the early morning hours without disturbance from Tatsuo for once, quite the odd timeline. It was actually so odd that it had disturbed Yaboi's inner psyche and woke him up 'Something ain't right..' he thought to himself as he rolled over onto his left side on the bed. The boy wanted to close his eyes and fall right back to sleep but that strange feeling at the back of his head was keeping his attention elsewhere. 'This has to be a trap..' the young shinobi thought, sitting up onto his rump as he looked around his pillow fort for any disturbances to its walls. There was nothing out of the ordinary and after a few more minutes of inspection it was quite evident that today was simply a miracle by his standards.

'Well I guess he isn't up.. But I swear I hear movement and talking..' the boy whispered to himself within the confines of his hyperbolic sleep chamber. It was decided that whatever mischief that was going on outside of his fort was not something he needed to take part in, not with such a prime opportunity to catch up on the sleep the young boy so required. Curling back up into his blankets Yaboi fell back to sleep and would rest until disturbed or a few hours pass.

Hopefully with all of the students gathered around he could really get to it and start the training for today. He wanted to make the excuse for sleeping in, as a favor to Yaboi, but a part of it was selfish. It was hard being a Sensei all the time. With Tatsuo finally awake he would walk around the apartment, hoping to find all of the students but because of Saito's potential shenganans. Who knew what he would find. If they weren't there and there salt shakers were indeed knocked over, he would just take it as an excuse to lounge around the suite.

“I think Sensei does want a day off.” He stretched from his chair, he was tired of doing nothing. I didn’t expect Tatsuo would give us a day off. He thought of things he could do, maybe they him and Saito could train together, and they could get Yaboi to tag along, but he was sure that Yaboi would be in deep sleep by now, no reason he would pass up a day off away from training. He yawned, maybe it would be best to spend the day off sleeping. Ryo turned to look at Saito “Out something to eat?” hearing his stomach growl, he quickly nodded his head, “Sure, we should get something to eat.” He thought about where they should go to eat, perhaps the same place they went last time or somewhere different this time around. He was unfamiliar with the layout of the city, he was unsure of where they last ate.

“Where would we go? I’m thinking we should go somewhere different. You know try out what Tea country has to offer. I’m sure there are wonderful places out there we can eat from. I’m feeling like something other than burgers this time around.” He quickly stood from his chair and went to his bag retrieving his bag of money and went to his bureau and reached in to take his headband. Placing it on his head he fastened it and nodded to Saito, “Let’s go.” Going to follow Saito he turned to look back at the Shakers, he considered leaving them up to get back at Tatsuo for leaving them alone for most of the day, but he didn’t want Saito into trouble because of Ryo’s petty actions and went to push is over. Following Saito he wondered where they would go eat today.

"Kurosawa has pretty much whatever kind of food there is! If it's traded, that is," Saito cheerfully responds to Ryo as they dash over the rooftops. Urging Ryo to pull out his city maps as they ran, he pointed to the various areas that sold food according to however that part of town was organized, either by culture or by wares or by region of the continent. "Everything gets traded here! Let's try the food aaaaaaaat... here, in this part of the city!" he suggests, pointing to a small section of the map he'd heard to be culturally focused by native traders from the Moon country. They'd likely have all sorts of delicious seafood prepared in ways neither of them had heard of before, Saito said, and they hadn't really eaten seafood yet on their trip. "Have you ever been to the Moon country? I definitely haven't... but I read a little bit about it, it's an island... so it has to have seafood! I'm gonna try something I've never seen before!" Assuming Ryo had a good stomach for seafood, the two boys would head across town to experience the delicacies of a part of the world they'd never been.

Arriving in the segment of the city dedicated to the Moon Country, the two boys would explore what proved to be the culture of a deeply spiritual people in their hunt to find breakfast in whatever form that came. Through looking at maps and talking to people from that country in their search for a restaurant, they'd come to discover that although the Moon Country is an island, high mountains and death-defying cliffs block access to nearly all of its shorelines, so little shoreline seafood would be had. Any interesting food would come from areas dominated by forests and plains, meaning meats, grains, fowl, and the like. The 10-year old cloudie received this news stoically, his mind had been set on seafood but such a breakfast would not come to pass. "Let's look around for something else then, Ryo! Where do you think we should go?" The people Saito and Ryo had spoken with recommended all sorts of yummy Moon Country breakfasts, with favorite spots enjoyed by the area's residents recommended all over the area. "My treat, for pulling you all the way out here looking for seafood! But I think we've gotta decide fast," the cloud genin laughed, a hand rubbing his head as his stomach croaks its loud, insistent call for food. Their exploration of Moon Country culture notwithstanding, the hunger beast residing inside Saito's belly would not tolerate its satisfaction delayed for much longer.

It wasn't long before Tatsuo noticed the mess that Ryo had made. The cuts up and down the wall from obvious kunai marks.. why would he ever do that? What reason on this whole earth did he have to do it. Tatsuo face palmed and sighed, thinking of any reason they would do it. He wasn't sure WHO did it, but Yaboi still seemed to be napping which was convenient, it'd be easier this way. Perhaps this lesson would be a bit different but Tatsuo hoped they knew how to hide well. Forgoing the Flak, he dressed himself in plain looking shinobi gear, bringing up a mask past his nose. He kept the headband at home and by all cases he just looks like a random man.

Tatsuo knew his students well enough to know that if they left the house it was probably for one of two reasons, food or adventure, considering the time of day, they probably hadn't gotten their full yet. So the market place was probably where to go. It shouldn't be too hard to find two kids running around Tea Country would it? Moving over to the counter where they kept the salt shakers he knocked his over, as par his own rule, and made his way outside of the building. Scaling down the side, as ninja do. Within moments he had broken into a jumping sprint, from house to house, building to building as he searched for his students. Once he grew closer to the market place Tatsuo would perch himself up on top of a tall building and start gathering up some natural energy. It was a decent way of finding things, especially those who he was close to. He got used to their energy and what they were capable of, but with all these people it could be difficult for even him.

Taking in a deep breath with his hands clasped together he tried to focus. He could feel everyone's energy for a moment but there were only two he was interested in. Saito and Ryo's and with his mastery over Senjutsu it wasn't terribly hard for him to track them down. But what would be the fun in just ending the game here. A devious smirk appeared on his face as he brought his hands into a tiger seal and performed the transformation jutsu. While he stayed mostly the same, face looked drastically different. A blonde with blue eyes, but the rest of his appearance remaining the same. He then waited for them to make their way into a less populated area and that's when he would prepare his attack.

At Saito’s urging he quickly pulled out his map, he unfolded it and opened it up in front of him and Saito, he nodded and made marks where Saito pointed out there would be food, “Mhmm.” Finishing up marking his map, he quickly folded it and placed it into his back pocket. “Moon Country? Never heard of it. But it sure does sound like an interesting place. I wonder what they got there in their country. I wonder what seafood from Moon Country taste like, how different will it be from what they served in Konoha.” He thought about his home village and thought if anything significant changes had occurred in the time they made their way over to Tea country, Hopefully nothing big has happened yet he thought.

Following behind Saito, he wondered what sort of seafood would be served there by its vendors what delicacy would be up for offer by the vendors. But as they continued he looked over his map which showed the larger world and looked for the Moon country on it, he spent some time as Saito spoke with the people they encountered to look for, he was intrigued to see where this country was at. Taking in every bit of information that was given to them, he used it to pinpoint the location of the moon country location. Finally locating it, he looked at the island on his map with interest, what could be on there and what adventures could Team 11 have there, he was excited that Tatsuo took them out of the village to see the world. His mind wandered from that to the growing hunger that had been building up since they left their apartment in search of food.

“At this point I’m fine with anything, as long as I can eat it and not die. It’ll be good.” He went to place his map back in his back pocket and turned to Saito, “Let’s just go to the closest spot, we can’t go looking forever.” Ryo thought about the marks he made in the apartment out of sheer boredom and had begun to feel guilty for making them and a petty little act made over his sensei’s laziness, thinking about coming clean to Tatsuo he thought about what he would do and remembered how Tatsuo would probably go overboard like the time he made Saito and Ryo return to knock over their shakers when he went out with them.

The nearest restaurant in the Moon Country region of Kurosawa turned out to be a little hole-in-the-wall place a block and a half away, that an old local woman said would have some of the best spiced beef they'd ever eat in their lives. "Home cooking! Can't go wrong!" she said encouragingly, her smile bringing life to her wizened face. After bowing to the old granny, Saito shrugs to Ryo before following her directions and finding the place. Far from a polished and perfected franchise-like establishment, this "restaurant" basically appeared to be someone's home with a sign put up over the entrance: "Shrine's Own." Saito looked a bit askance at Ryo, before entering the converted eatery. The front door was open afterall.

Inside looked much like one would expect of a small home, a single large room that contained a living room, dining room, and kitchen all in one open area. A big dining room table sat in the middle of the space, ringed by a large number of seats. Some of the seats were unoccupied, but most had a customer sitting in it, either eating a delicious dish, waiting for food to arrive, or paying their tab on their way out. And a number of individuals, all appearing to be related by their similar features, served their various guests. A pair of ladies, one of them likely being the mother of the family and the other perhaps a sister, kept busy in the kitchen filling orders. A pleasant tune played in the background as the room bustled with life. The old woman out in the street wasn't merely describing the food when she said "home cooking." The cooking apparently actually took place in a home.

By all appearances, if Saito seemed unnerved at this interesting turn of events, he didn't seem like it for long. The reasoning, quite plain after a moment, being the rich, delicious scent of stewed meat hanging in the air and the customers' eager devouring of any edible morsel in front of them. Any sort of hesitation wiped away, the young cloudie waved over what looked like a younger brother of the family, about his and Ryo's age. "Hi! I heard this place has the best spiced beef I'll ever eat in my life! We want two of those please!" he said with his typical upbeat attitude, Kumo headband catching the light occasionally. The boy bowed and sat them, but continued to sneak looks at the two genin throughout their time there, his face full of awe. Looking around, Saito noticed no one else wore headbands or even appeared to be visitors from out of town, they were people of the neighborhood, families themselves or otherwise locals out for a bite. Many of them looked at the two ninja kids sitting with them, not threateningly but with curiosity. They clearly hadn't seen too many genin in these parts.

"I think we've found a real secret spot, Ryo!" the young cloudie murmured to the Uchiha, grinning at the prospect of doing something very different and eating as well. "I hope the food is as good as it smells! Hey did you even want the spiced beef or should we ask for a menu?"

Tatsuo held no true ill will towards the Genin in his squad but he realized that they needed to be kept on their toes. He trailed them for a long while, from building to building, ducking behind alleyways and taking cover in corners he was able to track the two with little difficult. Over time he realized what they were up to and just as expected the grumbles in their stomachs was what sent them on this goose chase. He still needed to find out why in the world they would do such arbitrary destruction of property then just leave as if nothing was wrong.

It wasn't long before the duo stopped at some sort of establishment and Tatsuo realized he would have to enter if he was going to keep an eye on them. Luckily he still looked like someone they had never seen. Tatsuo walked to the front door, but never took his mask off and with a few conversations regarding it they finally allowed him in under the stipulation he didn't cause any issues. It wasn't uncommon for shinobi to wish to hide their identity but they weren't used to having customers who were shinobi.

They sat a transformed Tatsuo down across from the two boys. Looking over to the two he furrowed his brows and stared at both of them in an attempt to make them uncomfortable, if they were going to ruin his morning he might as well ruin theirs. When asked for what he wanted, he just ordered a quick side salad and a water and continued to stare at the two. Bright blue piercing eyes never leaving the two.

Ryo sat in chair and looked at the menu, he ran his finger across the menu and thought about what he could have today, smacking his lips together, he nodded in agreement with Saito, spiced beef did sound delicious, at this point he was ready to eat a horse as the saying goes. “Yeah, this spot looks great, I can’t believe we found it. Nah, I’m good, that beef sounds like something I have to try!” Ryo would have liked to spend the day training with Tatsuo, Saito and Yaboi but this was just as good, spending some time and having some fun was a great thing. An idea coming to mind in his head, he quickly turned to Saito with enthusiasm, he looked so excited he could barely control himself, “We should spar sometime, I feel like we can both get a lot of that. Ever since I fought this crazy samurai guy I hadn’t really been in a proper fight. Maybe we could do it soon.” Waiting for Saito response he was able to understand whatever his answer was.

Looking around at the table he took notice of the stranger watching him and Saito he leaned over to Saito and spoke to him in a hushed tone, “That guy has been watching us for a bit, I don’t know why but he’s giving me the creeps.” He quickly turned to look at his food as it arrived, smiling that his hunger would finally be satiated. But as he was preparing to dig into the food, he thought if maybe he should speak to Tatsuo about what he did and take the punishment. Maybe after they were done eating. But what would he say to him? Something he’ll have to think about while he eats, maybe he could ask Saito to help him out. All of this filled the Genins mind maybe he’ll come up with the right answer soon

Saito had certainly thought about sparring with Ryo before, ever since he first met the Uchiha along with Yaboi, Shinzo, and Arashi. Though he more vocally challenged Shinzo that day, he did it more to boost the Seikon's confidence and help him look good in front of Miyako. Ever since being teamed up with Ryo and Yaboi, however, the young cloudie strongly desired to test his strength against both boys. It would be vital to their teamwork afterall, they'd have to learn each other's strengths and weaknesses, and support each other. So when Ryo suggested it, excitement plain in his face, Saito couldn't help but mirror the same excitement.

"You know I've been thinking the same thing? Ever since I fought this weird archer zealot from the country. That fight was too hard! I can definitely use the practice. Plus it would only help our teamwork, which would make Tatsuo-sensei happy..." Then Saito frowned, a thought crossing his mind. "Maybe he didn't want to hang out with us today because we're not working hard enough? I bet he'd be really interested if we sparred! He seems to want us to get into fights anyway," the cloudie continued, a worried expression at displeasing Tatsuo passing over his face like a cloud passing across the sun.

He snapped right out of that as the food arrived. The spiced beef, fresh and covered in a delicious-looking brown sauce, changed the direction of his thoughts near-completely. "We'll eat, then spar... how's that sound? Should we go back and tell Tatsuo-sensei first? He'd probably be happy to see us training hard either way!"

The food tasted exceptionally good, and Saito wasted no time in assaulting it. Eating at a moderate pace, he enjoyed every bite, his pleasure at eating the food plain on his face. It took a moment for Ryo's comment about the creepy guy to register, after which the young cloudie looked up at Ryo with food stuffed in his face and gave the Uchiha an audible "Huh?" Eyes flipping over to the creep for a quick moment, Saito did notice the burning blue eyes intent on them but he kept on eating anyway. "He can't touch us in here, though we should be prepared if he follows us out," the boy quietly murmured back to Ryo between bites. "Wonder if he wants something?" he continued in low tones, audible to the Leaf genin only, as he carefully kept his eyes focused on his meal so as to not arouse suspicion.

It wouldn't be a whole lot longer until both boys finished. Saito paid and soon both boys would be on their way. On their guard.

Tatsuo couldn't stop from smirking at what he had just witnessed. While he wanted to be mad, he wasn't really any good at that. Standing from his table, he made his way over to the two and pulled down his mask. They still had no idea who he was and mostly because of how proud he was of the two for setting up all this training and stuff he sort of forgot that he was in a transformation. "That's great to hear guys, i'm happy you're all training!" he went to place a hand on Ryo's head before looking at his own and hand and realizing he was still in a transformation jutsu.

Turning pink quickly he laughed and brought his hands together where he poofed into a cloud and turned back into the sensei they knew(and loved.) "I was pretty mad about the mess you guys made back there but, after overhearing you two talk I remembered I don't stay mad for long. ..Mind telling me why you did it, at least? You two are going to have to fix it, but I think you guys need to learn a lesson on respecting other people's stuff. It'd be different if you broke your ninja tools or whatever, that happens, but just ruining an apartment someone is letting us stay in for much cheaper than we should be paying? C'mon, explain it to me."

Tatsuo wasn't angry more just confused, he knew the two were good kids so he was honestly suprised when they had made a huge mess for no reason. Had it been them ordering too much food, or them causing a ruckus somewhere he probably wouldn't have cared all that much. But wanton destruction was something Tatsuo never appreciated and hated to see in his students.

“I’m glad you agree.” He was excited to continue to test himself, he knew that he would someday become a strong Shinobi. He turned to Saito when he brought up going back to Tatsuo and nodded in agreement, “I think he’s ready to train, hopefully. I just hope he isn’t asleep when we get back to the room.” He looked around the room, and turned to look for the boy who had been watching them earlier but he had lost sight of him, shrugging the strange boy probably meant no harm to the two Genin, sighing with relief he turned to back to his food to eat.

Feeling the hand be place on his head, his eyes immediately widen. Oh my god, came to his mind as he turned to look up at Tatsuo, he was the strange stalker, he shook his head to remove Tatsuo hand from it, he sure was a strange one, he would rather follow little kids around rather than confront them when they did something wrong, maybe it was a strange way of getting them to admit what they did or some twisted version of getting the truth out. Hearing him speak about the mark he’d make on the walls, not wanting Saito to get in trouble for his mistakes he knew he’d had to come clean for what he did. “I did it, Sensei. I was bored and really wanted to train, and I didn’t know this place that well, so I just trained with my Kunai to hit the wall.”

"TATSUO-SENSEI??" Saito shouted in surprise when he dropped the transformation from the creepy blue-eyed guy to the Leaf Jounin. Their team leader's appearance shocked the white-haired cloudie out of his chair, the boy fell over and hit the ground with an audible *THUD*. Getting back up after a bit, Saito scowled up at the teenager. "So you can follow us around all day but not train us? You're weird, Shinrin-sensei." The cloudie seemed a bit annoyed for a moment but that passed quickly. I guess we should take whatever attention we can get when sensei is having one of his unannounced lazy days.

When Tatsuo confronted them about the kunai marks on the wall, Ryo admitted to it swiftly and that seemed like the end of it. Saito would let Tatsuo pay, since he put in all that effort to find them, and they'd pick a good, empty field or something to spar in with Ryo's map. The three ninja left the restaurant soon after, both younger boys more than excited for what would come next.
