Name: Tenrai Kyousuke
Age: Eight
Gender: Male
General Description: Kyousuke is a vibrant amalgamation of youthful constituents and heritage; bearing the rounded facial form often attributed to striplings, as well as traditional and hooped jewelry suspended from his wet ears. His irides boast enigmatic russet-hues, that when lit, seem to bear tales of antiquity. His hair is unkempt, untamed and auburn- few shades off the hue of his eyes. His smile is temperate, but genuine. He is not of an imposing stature, standing at a modest 4'5'', and his traditional garments are testimony to his lineage. Kyousuke can rarely ever be seen without them.
He tends to subvert most the normal conventions regarding what should be expected of an eight year old boy.
At the very least, he shares the inquisitive and adventurous disciplines that often define a boy's primary motives. It is assumed that whatever persona the individual develops from then on is either an interpretation or a contortion of those fundamentals. But to say he 'trumps all trends' is not entirely accurate. Most of his personality traits are shared with the younger members of his clan, which is in no small part, due to the manner of upbringing that children, of the Tenrai, are subject to.
The most prominent differentiation from the norm, would be his unusually diverse personality. Unlike children who either find delight in the joys of excessive chitchat, or retreat to their own timid recluse- Kyousuke interchanges between long-winded drivel and being curtly concise, depending on the situation as well as the degree of interest he has in potential discourse. On the topic of auditory communication, he has oft been known to construct sentences in an archaic fashion from time to time. This is more due to the fact that he socialised with elders a lot more than he participated in the indulgences of his own age group. He has a penchant for epigrams and is still learning how to make some of his own.
His deeper interests lie in a pious and almost self-harming pursuit of morality. A peculiarity for a boy his age. He is fond of questioning those deemed wise and experienced, or of great authority, and gleaning what he can about righteousness, justice- and what fundamental values/elements of life take precedence over others. He does not yet understand the danger of pursuing ideals, and is hesitant in his decision-making. He is also emotionally stable and has apparently never shed a tear.
History: Kyousuke was brought into the world under justifiably fortuitous circumstances. His mother, frail and slight, had fallen terribly ill before he was born, and there was much dispute as to whether she would be strong enough to give birth. He was born stilled, and bereft of the usual wailing induction into the world. It wasn't until a few minutes later, that his previously limp and lifeless body became animated in his mother's tear-soaked arms. This, added to the fact that his mother's bloodline for at least 20 generations, had been all female by birth- made the boy nothing short of a miracle.
His father, was a felonious maverick, who fled at the thought of having to feed another mouth besides his own. He was rumoured to have been a former clergyman of the Tenrai's sacred and most esoteric pursuants of faith, defecting after adopting a radical outlook that contradicted the teachings of old. Becoming a devious and conniving vagabond, to mask being lost in his own insecurities and unsure of his purpose. Yet Kyousuke's mother refused to admit to ever being sullied or abused by the man. Just as she saw goodness where no one else could, she stood against the odds to raise Kyousuke by herself.
Kyousuke was understandably emotional and empathetic in prior years, but the sudden illness and eventual death of his mother threw him down a different path. Instead of surrendering into the clutches of doubt and uncertainty as his father before him, he astounded elders and citizens of the clan, by embracing it. He decided, after much contemplation (and due to his mother's teachings)- to follow the path of a Shinobi. In order to distinguish between good and evil, he also needed to become 'one who endured'.
