Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kushin had left the hospital under his own power however from a medical perspective there was much to be done. Normally these tests would take a week to be sorted, waiting in line for their turn. Word from on high had come down however and Kitsune, one of the medical shinobi who was highly regarded for her knowledge of chemicals was placed on a C-Rank mission to go about testing these samples immediately. If something was seriously wrong with the Medical Branch Sennin then it needed to be found out sooner rather than later.

There were several soft tissue samples, taken from Kushin's muscle when he was unconscious. They would be needed for testing.

There was a pint of blood taken, Kushin's Chigokai bloodline letting those looking after him feel this was a safe quantity as it regenerated almost immediately.

Finally there was also a test tube of Kushin's pure chakra. Though chakra would be found in decent quantities within the blood itself due to his bloodline, this was deemed a requirement as they had been draining him of chakra throughout the procedure anyway and that had seemed to be the most successful means of treating him.

Because of this it was assumed that there was likely a link between Kushin's chakra and whatever it was that happened.

Eri, a medical shinobi of equivalent Chief rank amongst Kushin's Harvesters had taken the notes in regards to the chakra. The following was there.

"While draining Kushin of chakra it was apparent that there was a large quantity of foreign evil chakra in his system. The foreign chakra was thought to be coming from the cursed seal which had activated of its own accord while Kushin slept. The seal is a Hell seal and the technique known as Morality Sealing seemed to have no effect on it which is remarkable in itself. Significant traces of this evil chakra will be found both in the Blood and the Chakra samples. Whether this is also the case in the cells is unknown and exactly to what extent this chakra is affecting his chakra and blood is required to be checked."

Eri wasn't very well known amongst the medical branch, though that he existed in the Harvester Squad would be easily found, also that his specialty was in chakra and chakra absorption techniques was also on his record.

Kitsune had been chosen for her research skills and chemical knowledge, she now needed to go about trying to find out all she could. Kushin was out of the village already on a mission of his own, low level to take his mind off of the issues. Though outside of the village which leave the council uncomfortable. Knowledge asap would be appreciated.

That morning Kitsune had no idea that this would be one of those days. One where everything just seems to go wrong at first, but then they turn out to go right in a manner no one expected. True to being a typical Monday, Kitsune fell out of bed, stubbed her toe on the doorframe, nearly slipped in the shower and cut herself when she was slicing bread for her breakfast. She shook her head as she let her body handle the healing of the cut as she was indeed a quick healer. ”This is gonna be one of those days, huh?” she wondered out loud as she finished making her breakfast: Eight slices of bread with various cheeses and meats, a bowl of mixed fruits, a jug of cloudy apple juice, a glass of milk, and a single wafer thin chocolate. So, all in all, a light meal… For her. Can’t be too full when going to work, right? ”Lets see… Bread, fruit, juice, milk, chocolate. Yup, I’m all set. Time for breakfast~!” she exclaimed in joy as she dug into the rather large amount of food.

Half an hour later, when she had finished, she went and got dressed for work in her newest favorite attire: a pair of red silk panties hiding under a pair of denim hot pants, a light green tank top covering her red silk bra and her leather jacket along with her knee long high-heeled leather boots. Of course, when she got to the hospital, she’d exchange the leather jacket for a white lab-coat, but even so, she loved her new outfit. It went well with her new look. Especially her new earrings.
As she dashed out the door, she grabbed her keys and her nametag and went off to the hospital. After a short uneventful journey, she arrived at her office, unlocking the door and entering her office, so she could hang her jacket off the coat rack and put on that white lab coat of hers.

*Knock knock*

Kitsune spun around upon hearing the knock on her door, and loudly said ”Enter!”. And as prompted a very official looking secretary type woman entered, clipboard in hand. ”Shinrya-sensei. You’ve been selected for a special assignment. Details are in this envelope.” she said without an ounce of emotion and handed the envelope over. ”The Council expects your full cooperation in this matter, Shinrya-sensei. Good luck.” she finished before giving a short bow and then leaving as swiftly as she had entered.
I wonder what that was about was all Kitsune thought as she opened the envelope and unfolded the papers within.
Letter said:
You are to perform experiments with certain tissue samples, blood samples and chakra samples. They are stored in Lab 31, Sub-basement 3, Karubin-wing. The samples were taken from Medical Sennin Isaki Kushin. It is your job to find out what is happening to him, and report back to us once you have made progress.
Eri’s notes said:
"While draining Kushin of chakra it was apparent that there was a large quantity of foreign evil chakra in his system. The foreign chakra was thought to be coming from the cursed seal which had activated of its own accord while Kushin slept. The seal is a Hell seal and the technique known as Morality Sealing seemed to have no effect on it which is remarkable in itself. Significant traces of this evil chakra will be found both in the Blood and the Chakra samples. Whether this is also the case in the cells is unknown and exactly to what extent this chakra is affecting his chakra and blood is required to be checked."
She raised an eyebrow at the information she had just gained, and then grabbed a couple of vials from her cabinet as well as her violin, and then strode out the door, locking it behind her, and then proceeding to the subterranean laboratory so she could get to work on the samples.
As she arrived, she noticed that a single person stood guard outside. She flashed her nametag and was allowed access to the lab. As she entered, she was a bit surprised at the equipment in the room. It was state-of-the-art chemistry equipment, all that she might need for her job.

Wasting no time, she placed her violin on the table and then placed the vials down next to the distillery-looking glass apparatus which she’d be using fairly soon. ”Think think think…” she said, and then started with the blood sample, immediately noticing that there was chakra in it. Probably due to Kushin’s bloodline trait. She poured a bit into the top of the glass apparatus, along with a few drops of the liquid she had brought with her. It was a chakra separation agent, made to separate chakra from whatever it touched and with the blood full of chakra, it worked wonders.
The chakra flowed down one tube, while the blood flowed down another. What Kitsune could sense from the blood was that there was still chakra in it. It was probably the evil chakra that Eri’s note had mentioned. She decided that if she were to obtain any useful results, she’d need to separate that chakra from the blood so it could be examined alone, and thus, she gave it a second treatment with the separation agent, only a bigger dose this time. And it had worked, splitting the evil chakra into a separate beaker.

”Hmm… If this is the cause of the Council’s concern, I’d better focus on this…” she mumbled to herself, and then took up her violin, playing one of the more famous pieces of classic Lightning Country music for a full minute or so. Ah! Of course. she exclaimed and then decided to take a closer look at the tissue samples. At first they looked perfectly ordinary, but then she put them under a microscope, and behold! They suddenly didn’t look normal anymore. It was like they had changed ever so slightly. Not much, but still… Kitsune couldn’t place her finger on it, but it bugged her. And, with Chakra being the do-all-end-all of this world, she applied some to the tissue, but to no avail. It didn’t do diddly squat. She signed and slammed her fist into the table, slightly annoyed. If only she hadn’t done that, as it caused the beaker with evil chakra to tip over, and spill onto the tissue sample under the microscope...

As the evil chakra hit the tissue sample it was apparent something was happening to it. The sample was too small to show many effects but the small glass slip that sat atop it was moving ever so slightly, which it really shouldn't do.

Looking down the microscope Kitsune would notice that the evil chakra was entering the cells much like normal chakra did. Apparently normal, the difference was that the cells themselves had become unstable. Some were splitting into multiple cells, others were simply vibrating. Energy amongst them was high, higher than they should have been and clearly the cells themselves were confused as though they didn't know exactly what they were meant to be doing.

If she were to touch the glass plate another sign of the energy transfer taking place as there would be warmth coming from the cells.

As the dark chakra got used up however the effects would lessen and the cells would revert back to their original number and state.

Kitsune felt the energy radiating from the tissue samples, and that piqued her curiosity and so she looked through the microscope. What she saw disturbed her immensely. ”What the…” she mumbled as she saw that the cells were vibrating and splitting uncontrollably kinda like cancer cells. As she kept watching, she saw that the evil chakra had saturated the cells, and she pressed a finger against the glass and felt the heat being generated by the cells. As she looked, she saw the cells return slowly to normal at the same rate as the evil chakra dissipated. ”So… The evil chakra. Which comes from the cursed seal he has… Causes this change in his cells.” she mumbled and noted it down on a piece of paper. ”I wonder if his normal chakra does as well…” Kitsune took the beaker with the pure chakra, and applied some of it to the cells, and watched in the microscope and almost anticipated something happening. But alas. Nothing did. Either way it was definitely progress. She had discovered that the evil chakra was the cause of the changes.

”Time to test out what it does to his blood when none of his normal chakra is involved…” she said to herself and grabbed the beaker of purified blood before pouring some into a petri dish. ”Lets have a looksee…” she mumbled and looked into the microscope again, after replacing the tissue sample with the petri dish. She saw what looked like additional defensive cells, and she figured that it was because of Kushin being a Chikogai, but without the chakra they were likely dormant.
She poured some of the evil chakra into the blood and watched for a reaction, if there was any.

This blood had none of his chakra in it from his clan. As she poured the evil chakra into the petri dish of blood there were changes visible to the naked eye. They seemed to multiply by themselves, something Blood certainly couldn't normally do, and it was to an extent where it was visible. The volume of blood inside the dish flooded over the sides. Yet not like water would.

It didn't pool like normal, but perhaps coagulate like blood would over time into a jelly like substance. At least that was how it would look as it was shiny to look at and with the blood replicating it moved like that. After a short time it stopped and once more like the soft tissue cells shrunk back to the original amount. Yet not all inside the petri dish unfortunately.

If Kitsune had touched the growing "gel" she would have found it to be solid. A hard, glassy, substance formed from the uniting of the blood and chakra.

Under the microscope after the two had been joined the cells would look like normal blood cells once more.

Kitsune jumped back, startled at the sudden growth of blood, and as she watched, it flowed out of the petri dish, onto the table and then it suddenly stopped and looked… Solid. She poked the blood and found it to be solid, something that also surprised her. ”This… I-Is not normal.” she stuttered before the blood kinda just… Fell in on itself, leaving blood on the table, but it looked like normal blood. She dipped her finger into it, and then licked the blood off. It tasted like iron, so like any other blood. It seemed that whatever was happening to Kushin, it wasn’t dangerous, and it was only when chakra from the cursed seal escaped into his blood streams. ”Perhaps it’s a mutation of the seal.” she pondered out loud as she once again grabbed her violin, placing it against her chin and then started playing, this time not a classic Lightning Country piece of music, but one of her own design, so to speak.

After half an hour of playing on her violin, she stopped and sighed deeply; it had cleared her mind, and prepared her for the final few tests she’d like to run. Kitsune took the tissue sample, the blood sample, and the chakra sample, and tried mixing it all together in a sealed off environment so she wouldn’t be hurt if anything happened. After mixing it together, she took the single few remaining droplets of evil chakra, and added to the, probably, volatile mixture. She was completely unsure of what was about to happen, but hey, nothing risked, nothing gained. And the gain in this case would be more information. Both about what was happening to her boss, and general research knowledge.
Kitsune had to admit, that she really wanted to do a kinjutsu surgery at some point. Or, well, not just do one, but do a whole lot. She wanted to master all fields of surgery so she could be the unchallenged Chief Surgeon.

After a time of thought and consideration Kitsune decided to mix all three together. With Kushin's own chakra in the mix there seemed to be no reaction at all. Under the microscope the soft tissue wasn't buzzing, the blood mixed with the chakras easily. The chakra blend of evil and Kushin's seemingly not allowing the evil chakra to have any effect on anything. This would be the more natural form of existence, and would explain why Kushin isn't a walking mess.

Kitsune observed the changes, or, well, she observed the lack of changes, and raised an eyebrow. ”Well. That’s interesting to say the least. So without his own chakra to keep it in check, he’d mutate into something hideous. But with his chakra, nothing happens.” she said to herself as she noted her findings down. ”That means it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It might even end up being a good thing. Perhaps.” she added and sat down at the desk, and began writing her report to the council regarding what she had discovered.
Council Letter said:
Upon examination of the evil chakra, I have discovered that if added to Isaki-sama’s tissue, or blood, without the presense of his own chakra, it will cause the tissue or blood to mutate. The tissue’ cells started vibrating and multiplying without any restraint. While the blood seemed to swell up and harden into a stony, solid form. But when the evil chakra dissipated, the two samples returned to their normal self.

Finally, I tried mixing them all together. Tissue samples, blood samples, chakra samples, and finally the evil chakra. And to my surprise, nothing happened at all. In other words, Isaki-sama’s own chakra is capable of keeping the seal from doing horrible things to him.
She paused a bit in her writing and looked up. ”I wonder if I should try one final experiment.” she mumbled… Then she shook her head. Nah. It wasn’t necessary. ”It’ll be just fine. I’m sure of it.” she finished and resumed her writing.
Council Letter said:
However. In the absence of Isaki-sama’s own chakra, i.e. if he has been drained completely, the seal; which is the cause of the evil chakra; will most likely cause his body to begin a transformation. And from what I’ve seen so far, it won’t be a pretty sight.

Signed,
Shinrya Kitsune

The council would receive the letter. The results entered into the database on Kushin in the hospital. After all they now knew what it was that was the issue, they would need to know how to treat it should the worst happen.

Within council it would suggest a false alarm, Kushin could handle it, he should be okay. In all likelyhood it was simply a case of the seal developing. They were known to do that, but when done to a member of the village authority it had to be taken more seriously, just in case.
