The adventure begins [Requesting Exit]

[Uchiha Takeshi]

Takeshi stood at the gates as he looked up into the bright morning sky, he allowed a smile to come to his face. He was dressed in the simple white and black robes afforded to the Sennin his mask slung on the inside of the robes as he awaited the arrival of those that would be coming with him. It was clear that he needed to make sure they were prepared and he had given them time to do so. His summons had called for them to meet now as they prepared to undertake the journey that they would be going through.

Lets see if they got the message, this shouldn’t take us to long but its better to be prepared than caught off guard

Takeshi knew full well what would be expected of them, as he looked down at the three passports that he had prepared, one for himself and one for each of the members that had been assigned to his team for this mission. Something that they would need to not have any trouble passing form village to village it was a key part of what was required of them when travelling and of course the hunt was on.

I wonder how far ahead he got, or where he went, it feels like I am on my back foot now all I can do is try and catch up.

Takeshi waited patiently for the arrival of the others to get things sorted before the departure knowing full well what was expected of them.

Manzo walked towards the gates. He was not moving as fast as he used to. It seemed that the entire world moved slower now. His speed was now was normally just as fast as the normal person, thought today he seemed to move a bit slower. He was likely moving subconsciously slower today because he did not want Takeshi to see the shape he had gotten in.

He was wearing a black cloak overtop his armor with his ape ANBU mask hidden underneath. He could have always simply used a jutsu to summon his mask but he preferred to have a physical representation of his station. Practically with the task at hand. This trip was a somber one and symbols took even more meaning for it, at least in Manzo’s mind.

Approaching Takeshi, he took a deep breath of trepidation and called out to Takeshi. He was still fighting his depression of losing his abilities but he still wore his usual smile. He had decided to fake it until he made it. Hopefully this trip would help with his state of mind. He was also hoping that the travel would help with the extra weight he had gained since the last time Takeshi would have seen him. He looked as if his short; five foot one frame had been transformed into a sumo wrestler. Now was the time to see if Takeshi said anything about his change in physical appearance.

”Good morning” he told Takeshi. ”Are we ready to begin this trip?” He really should go on a vacation some time, other than just a work trip.

Maki was back to his normal outfit for this trip. Black boots covered by red suneate, black pants that had matching red haidate, a black shirt with a red jacket ending at his waist, red han kote over his forearms, and two katana sheathes at his right side. He looked every inch a warrior, which wasn’t an incorrect look for the former Mednin of Old Konoha, then former wandering mercenary, now present ANBU of Konoha. He walked with an easy stride that spoke of a well tuned body and a grace that came with heavy training. His hair, a mix of dark brown and black, was cut a bit lengthy for a male, coming down across his face but not going past his cheeks. His eyes were currently bright gold, as he was thinking and planning.

”Well, I see I’m the last one here.” His voice was the same, yet different. It was soft, yet one could hear the hardness hiding under it. The phrase ‘silk over iron’ sprung to his mind for some reason, but he dismissed it. ”Takeshi. I’d like to request point. My….natural talents might be able to help us here.” Takeshi himself wasn’t even aware of Maki’s born potential. He knew of the feats he could perform after the soul absorptions, but not of what he could before. Still, he hoped his friend would trust him not to lie about his capabilities.

Looking at the two who had turned up he allowed a small smile to come to his lips, it seemed that they were both willing to answer his call and he could use the help of both of them right now. Checking Maki and Manzo out his eyes glanced to Manzo for a few seconds, taking back with what he saw he laughed slightly at first though. It seemed the shock of the new man appearing was apparent but he wasn’t bothered about looks, only in the skills of those that he had requested to attend this team.

“Looks like you let yourself go a bit Manzo, but as long as you can fight I don’t care. Just don’t let me down when it comes to crunch time. I guess I should tell you the reason for us being here and then we should get under way.”

Takeshi let his hand go into a pocket, as he drew a black book out he turned his attention to the pages turning them slowly and glancing at each one, as he stopped he found the bio of Baba the man they were currently out here to bring back home. Allowing his hand to turn the book back he showed both Manzo and Maki the description, identity, time since missing. All information that they could probably use.

“Our task is set by the Hokage, we are to go and capture Baba and bring him back to the village alive. Without hassle and without a problem. If he resists we can use any force necessary but I would rather do this with words than with fists in this situation. We bring him back alive and we achieve the outcome we wanted in this one.”

Takeshi allowed the book to snap shut in a split second before it returned back to his pocket, he smiled to both of them before producing three more documents, each one it was clear was a passport for the team. It would be required for the travel that they were about to commence in, he was aware of this much at least.

“This is your passport, please keep it safe it will allow travel to the locations we must go and as a team I want us to move together, no running off ahead of course but the other villages will require this to allow for us to travel into their realms”

Takeshi handed the two of them a passport each as he held his own, waiting for them to be let out of the village his last words were towards his new friend, listening to his own words he smiled as he nodded.

“You take point, your skills will be helpful here, plus I want to test you out. I have faith you will be able to track down the man that we are looking for.”

With that it was now a waiting game for someone to let them out of the gates so they could begin the hunt so to speak.

Yawning, Umashi walked towards the gates wearing very simple medical robes. In fact, if anybody noticed, they would have noted the fact that the jacket didn't even have his name or insignia on them. How the Hokage had happened to be in the possession of some random medical ninjas robes would be a mystery of the ages but what could easily be discerned was the fact that he didn't want to be up this morning for gate duty. Being a good Hokage though, Umashi answered the call to personally escort the ANBU Sennin out of the village and with doing so, came the end of his mini vacation. Rubbing at his eyes, Umashi yawned once more before finally getting to Takeshi and his crew. Sleepily opening the file that he needed to hand to them that contained all needed passports, papers, redundant bingo book files and maps, Umashi didn't bother to say "good morning" before he was trying to quickly get back to his previous whereabouts.

"You know . . . I was really enjoying stay-cation and here you went and dragged me outside for the first time in days. Did it ever occur to you that I might be in the middle of a marathon session with a beautiful woman, hrm?" With Umashi being a known rambler and spoken thinker, it was just as likely that Umashi was making something up as opposed as telling the truth but he moved on with the purpose of getting back to whatever he was doing. "So yeah, you paperwork is all inside. Oh, and I added another file about a certain Uchiha Anatsu who's been impersonating good Konoha folk, so . . . if you see him, bring him in too. His being dead or alive isn't nearly as important as bringing in Baba alive." Forcing the documents on Takeshi and looking at the company that he had with him, Umashi assumed that Yuki was being left in charge and so he nodded at the team and began to turn around and walk away. "Remember, if you find yourself in Kumo or Suna territory, doing the dumb thing will get you all disavowed." Wagging a finger in the air, Umashi quickly was gone from sight as he rushed back to where he had come from.

Takeshi looked over to the Hokage who was now in the process of letting them out of the village, as he allowed himself to look to the man who spoke. He had to give him credit for it wasn’t often that they had the time to be blunt with each other, he appreciated the facts and the warning it was better to have told them than find them out without any warning, he allowed a small sigh to come to his lips as he stepped forward wanting to reply to Umashi quickly he turned around to see the Hokage was gone already from their company.

Well as always he is a busy guy, just get this done and get back that is the mission that I have been assigned.

Turning away from the gates Takeshi began to walk slowly as he looked at the two men that he would be with for a while now, it was clear that they had a lot of catching up to do with Baba. The head start the man had was beyond a point of funny and right now they needed to make sure they were quick and accurate with how they spent their time looking.

“Maki, you take point, scout the outer village zones and see if you can pick up any clue, ask people if they have seen a man, just a general bearing would be acceptable on this one”

Takeshi smiled as he continued to walk heading out would soon see them on the move.

Interesting how the hunt expanded just as they were leaving. The truth was this was a long time comming, there were too many rogue shinobi out in the wild. Though in Manzo’s mind a single one was too many.


He had thought about responding to Takeshi, but he almost wanted to scoff at him. No matter what he looked like or what shape his body got into he would always be able to fight. But scoffing at that would not have been good for his honor so he refained.

Taking his passport, he placed it in his his pocket. This was not likely to be a quick trip, unless they got extremely lucky. Though he was truely curious what kind of skills Maki had that would help them in this hunt.

As the duo set out before him, Maki nodded once to the Hokage and moved ahead of the other two to take point. What he did next, Takeshi would likely be able to see clear as day, but seeing did not equate to understanding. To those whose eyes were attuned to the realm beyond, ghostly images would begin coalescing around Maki. For the nonce they told him nothing that the ANBU Report on the gates from the guards that night didn’t already include. He stops briefly at the guardhouse to compose a message, handing it off to a guard to take to the Aviary for him.

With that done, he motions for Takeshi and Manzo to follow him.
