The City of Amnesia . . .
Peering through the magnifying glass at a particular set of papers, he blinked once, twice and then leaned back as he groaned of the pain caused by bad posture. Rubbing the side of his head while he sighed, he closed his eyes and sat the magnifying glass down. The scientist before him was expecting to hear something from the senior before him but Umashi was taking his time to figure out just what he wanted to say. A project that had been started after the fallout of the attacks at the gates, Umashi had vowed to never be in that same position ever again if he could help it, and so he’d gathered a team with the intel that he had and had started on what he hoped would save them all.
Unofficially called “K2”, the project had no official name as it wasn’t supposed to exist. He could hardly see the village leadership getting behind such a project but the general gist of it was that he was building what amounted to a very large puppet. Giving the man a firm handshake and commending him for his work, Umashi handed back the schematics as the man rushed off to complete the necessary changes needed for the next portion of the armor. Turning around, he looked at the miniature replica of the large puppet that was kept on the back wall and got up to inspect it. So far they were on schedule to complete the project by the first snow of winter. Hopefully there would be no setbacks or attacks before then.
Looking something akin to a child’s toy, the idea was that with a semi-automated creation would be large enough to pack a punch hard enough to keep the creatures from beyond the wall from getting past the walls, that along with sparing the defenders of the wall from a large amount of casualties. Not much into the world of the puppet arts himself, Umashi had an idea of what he wanted to accomplish and he left the rest to the experts. Funding came easy when you knew the right people and at the end of all the secret discussions, he’d managed to assemble a team that knew their way around a battlefield. Elemental channeling, blades made out of the strongest metals that they could find, Umashi spared no expense in making the prototype as close to form as possible. Hopefully at the end of it all, they’d look back and thank them for it.
