[legend="[size=4][b]The Cats and the Curious[/b][/size]"]It was an excellent day for Chi, it was the day that she would perform her first mission. She was asked by a friend of the family to acquire three of her cats which had escaped in Maruishi. She was quick to start the mission, she felt it was one of the first steps she needed to become a real Shinobi. She felt she could use this mission to fulfill her mission requirement for school. The only problem was that she didn't know where to start. All she knew was they were named Cuddles, Cookie, and Christopher Jenkins Wallowits the third (Chrissy for short).
With just that information, and pictures of each of them in her memory, she took to the streets. She searched high and she searched low for these creatures. The first one she found was Chrissy, but he quickly shot away slipped out of her sight. Then she managed to find Cuddles on Aventuine Street being shooed away by a shop owner. She quickly caught him and returned him to his home. On her way out of the housing district she saw Cuddles coming towards her.
She went to pick her up but the cat quickly darted away. Chi gave chase, but she isn't the fastest 10-year-old girl. She followed Cuddles to a person's house where he climbed on top of sort of statue of a creature with wings. She put a finger to her bottom lip like she does and gave it a quick thought (not much thought mind you, it was very quick). She did a few handseals and shot a fire jutsu out at the statue. It was strong enough to not get destroyed by the jutsu, and it also scared the cat right into her arms. She had no time to congratulate herself as the owner of the house can out yelling at her so she had to scurry.
Having acquired two out of three cats she thought it would be a cinch catching the last one, Chrissy (which she saw and lost earlier).However, hours went by and she had no luck finding him. She decided to ask a few shop owners if they had seen him, which led to her traveling down a dark alleyway late at night. She was a little scared, but she pushed herself through so she could finish the mission. Then suddenly a trashcan fell over and in the dim light she could Chrissy running towards the exit.
"Christopher Jenkins Wallowits the Third, you get your booty back here!" She yelled, but of course the cat didn't listen. She let out a sigh and gave chase again. She chased him out of the alley and into the streets, running past shop owners closing their doors for the night and random drunks getting their pre-drink on. She bumped into some people and knocked over a couple, making sure to apologize without stopping as she didn't want to lose Chrissy again. As she rounded a corner she saw Chrissy in the arms of a stranger wearing red.
"Is this your cat?" She asked.
"No, it's a friend of my family's. It's my job to get him back!" Chi returned cheerfully, very proud to have 'such an honor'.
"Oh, well aren't you special?" The women leaned over and placed Chrissy into young Chi's arms.
"Thanks! And, if anyone asks…" She looked around to make sure no one was listening and whispered, "I caught him myself." The woman gave a little wink and watched Chi as she ran to return the cat (and get out of Maruishi before it got too bad. The woman watched her run away, putting a finger to her bottom lip in a manner similar to the way Chi does.[/legend]
