Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

“Finally ditched them. Now, where can I find some tasty green tea pudding?”</I><i></i>

Suika hastily dashed toward the Susukino District with her village map wide open. Along her speedy stroll, she stuck to the more shadowy areas of the trail to avoid any unwanted attention. Suika wasn't necessarily in hiding, but she was actively avoiding being found by her excruciatingly peppy Kumogakure tour guides. Since being recently recruited into Cloud Village's shinobi academy after one of her performances last week, she's felt smothered and bombarded by all the information shoved down her throat by Kumo's shinobi. She's met so many people during this small time duration and had to memorize so many names, probably more than she ever had to in the entirety of her life. “And at least it was easier in troupe. Everyone was named after a fruit.” And that wasn't even the worst of it.

<I>“They had to assign me the literal incarnations of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Those two won't let me breathe."<i></i> Her tour guides were two very excitable citizens of Kumogakure who felt the need to escort Suika everywhere she went and give her an in-depth history lesson about the several sites in the village. Every twig and branch in this damn village had a story – literally everything. She had to escape them before her ears bled out. Being sold to essentially become a soldier for a militaristic nation was one thing. Having to endure their constant banter was another. After several minor attempts, she was able to slip away from the pair as they engulfed themselves in lore about some statue or fountain named Aion. She didn't know the importance – she honestly didn't care. She just wanted green tea pudding. “Green tea pudding. After all I've endured, that isn't too much to ask for, right?”<i></i> she thought to herself as she shook her head irritably.

Having lived as a nomad for most her life, she was proficient at navigating through the unknown. The fact that she had a map made it all the better. “Finally here.”<i></i> Suika's eyes brightened as she saw the radiance and vastness of the district. It was evening by the time she reached the square, so the lights gleamed beautifully over the marketplace and gave it an indescribable type of life. She wasn't really a people's person, so was instantly turned off by how crowded Susukino's District was – but she was in awe of how pretty and grand it all appeared. Her troupe mostly performed on the outskirts of towns in Lightning Country, so she never had the opportunity to experience the aesthetics of the night life. “Focus, Suika. You're on a mission.”<i></i> She tippy-toed and scanned the area. Which shop would sell green tea pudding? Do they even sell that here? Suddenly, her eyes became fixated on a flamboyantly colorful sign. It kind of reminded her of her troupe, Ringo's Emporium of Flavorful Fruits, and their advertisement sign. What set this apart, however, was the picture of pudding on it. This had to be it. Without a moment's hesitation, she darted toward the stand. It was show time.

“Excuse me, mister.”</B><i></i> she cutely sang as she leaned toward the small, bald-headed man at the pudding stand. “You wouldn't happen to sell green tea pudding here, right?”<i></i> The man, without too much expression, nodded and answered plainly. “We do sell green tea pudding. Are you intending to buy a cup?”

“A cup of your finest green tea pudding? Why ye-!”<i></i> She almost choked. Suika was so focused on getting away from the Tweedles and retrieving dessert that she forgot one crucial component to the success of this mission – money! Her tour guides were entrusted with her funds as of now. Without them, she couldn't purchase much of anything. “Sir...”<i></i> she laughed nervously while twirling her braid, “...I'm actual flat-out broke.”<i></i>

“Broke? Then beat it, kid! Being a cute girl doesn't give you a free ticket to puddingville. Come back with some form of acceptable currency, or don't bother.” Suika nearly fell over – he was so harsh! She was half tempted to bring out her dagger and give him a piece of her mind. But no, now was not the time. The young gypsy was still in the act and the show wasn't over quite yet. “I am so sorry, sir!” she bowed apologetically, although she was truly not. “How about if I earn my pudding?”

“Go on.” he answered as an odd smirk grew on his face. Suika was no stranger to this look and knew exactly where his depraved mind was going. It pissed her off and her fists tightened in reaction; however, Suika's own cheery expression remained. “I was a dancer and I can give an artsy, fun show to draw people to your business. Will this be an acceptable payment?”<i></i> She knew the man was disgusting, but she needed green tea pudding. It was for the sake of her present sanity. His smirk widened. “Sure. Give it your best show.” Perfect. Suika did what she did best for survival; the dark-skinned gypsy girl began to dance. The Magenta Twirler was back in business! “Gather 'round! Gather 'round! Come get the best pudding in town!”<i></i> she grabbed a few cups and juggled them rhythmically within her dance. She even added a few acrobatics to the mix. Her improv routine wasn't too flashy, but she was amused by how quick-witted her jingles were. <B>“Chocolate, caramel, and green tea – can't choose a flavor? Why not all three!”

Re: The Chronicles of the Pudding Dancer [Open]

Without paying much attention to the miniature dancing girl. Shieo passed through the crowd; still adorned with his Chūnin attire, it was fairly safe to assume he was in-fact just getting off work. Arriving to the counter,
he was greeted by the shop-owner with a smile and the typical facade of friendliness. While it wasn't completely bought by Shieo, it wasn't worth the extra effort needed to really weave around the social nuances that each interaction carried. "The usual, just fill it up." Lugging an empty bag to the counter, the shop owner gleefully started filling the bag with the store's stock of green-tea pudding and mocha flavored pudding.

Reaching up to his vest, Shieo had pulled out his wallet and sifted through the needed currency; once accounted for. He handed the man the money and gave a quick respectful dip of his head. Shouldering the bag which was now filled with his filling food; because eating healthy is for crazy people. As he was about to leave he looked at the girl juggling the puddin' cups finally, arching a brow. "Er... Aren't you a bit young to be doing work, kid?" He had stopped at the entrance, giving the young performer a side-long glance of discomfort.

At the same time, the shop-keeper called out to Suika "Hey girl! We've sold out on that pudding you were after! Sorry, better luck next time!" At the same time, he was drafting a sign of 'Sold Out: Green-Tea/Mocha Pudding'

The voice in his head spoke, specifically to him. Seems like you might have destroyed a kids goals, you're improving. Replying mentally, while his expression seemed to display some irritability, not necessarily at anything in particular either. Not like I'd have known, I get this stuff all the time.

After his response, the voice in his mind seemed to grumble, drifting off. Shieo's expression resumed to it's typical half-lidded dour eyed state; he looked like the biggest care in the world was the fact he didn't care, was a bit depressive all-in-all.

Re: The Chronicles of the Pudding Dancer [Open]

“Too young? You're never too young for a hustle.”

Suika continued her pudding-dance performance, smiled cheerfully, and ignored the passing man's comments. She was used to feedback, both positive and negative. Regardless of people's unneeded insights, the show had to go on. It had to. She needed her green tea pudding.

And then she fell on her back. “Sold out?!” she cried as she stared into the sky with disbelief. “That wasn't the deal, creepy man!” She hopped on her feet and scowled at the short, perverted bald shopkeeper. Suika never fell out of character, but at this point she was slowly losing it. All she wanted was green tea pudding – it's all she longed for! She didn't mind being practically held against her will in this god-forsaken village, but to be deprived of the only sugary good she loved in this world was taking things too far. She marched toward the man with a violent expression and practically snarled at him as some starved animal. He waved his arms in what appeared as a nervous gesture. “Now, now, no need for the explosive expression. Why he, that man over there,” he shakily pointed toward the guy who made the comment earlier, “took the last of the pudding. Why not go ask him for some? He seems nice enough.” The gypsy girl stared at him with aggravated intent. She didn't break her leer until she made up her mind. “Fine. I'll deal with you later.”</B><i></i> She snapped and made a one-eighty turn around toward the man's direction. She patted her face, smiled cutely, and hopped toward him.

The man she was confronting was over over a foot taller than her. There was nothing too stand-outish about his appearance. In fact, he either looked irritated, bored, or tired. Maybe all three? She wondered, for the briefest of moments, what type of mundane life he led to warrant such a look. She didn't really care to dwell on it, as long as she got the goods she desired.

“Excuse me, good sir.”<i></i> she sang as she trailed to his side. <B>“There seems to have been a misunderstanding. I was dancing for the reward of green tea pudding and it seems that shopkeeper over there accidentally sold you the last batch.” She looked down with a blush, clasped her hands , and anxiously kicked her feet together. She wasn't actually so bashful, she was just feigning innocence. “Do you think you can give the pudding to me?” At that instance, she glanced up at the man with her legendary cute-girl technique: puppy dog eyes no jutsu! Would it be super effective?

Re: The Chronicles of the Pudding Dancer [Open]

It wasn't long after the girl marched towards the shopkeeper, that Shieo had already started making his departure through the streets; while they were crowded, they certainly weren't anything terribly difficult to navigate through. So even despite all this, he eventually found himself being called out too.

"Excuse me, good sir."

"Mh..?" After he had stopped to look over to the petite voice that lingered close to him, and seemed to make his spine crawl. The sort that suggests that despite all hopes and dreams, that voice was directed to him. He held himself rather still, hoping it would go away as it stood there looking up to him, explaining the situation of 'her' pudding.

Look, it followed you. Think I can't see that? A very, very subtle twitch of his left eye suggested something bothered him; though his presence didn't seem to suggest that he was inherently upset with the girl. Upon making the claim of accidents, and making the request of all the pudding; whether she intended it or not, her words conveyed such things. This left him to arch a brow, it was clear he was a bit amused.

Upon her revealing her secret technique, he simply used his free hand. Clenched it and gently 'bopped' her on the top of her head. "Nah. I paid for it, kiddo'." You trying to break a young souls heart? You really can't make up your mind on what you live for. Gently coughing once, as if it was forced to interrupt something. "Er.. Look, I don't typically do hand-outs. Since life is dumb, mean and generally speaking isn't free. But here." He fished a single pudding out of the bag and handed it to her. And begun to stroll down the street again, giving a brief wave with his off-hand.

Re: The Chronicles of the Pudding Dancer [Open]

With a small bop on her head, Suika clenched her teeth. She kept her cutesy expression intact, but she was a straw away from a broken back. Her mind painted violent images... forcefully take the pudding in front of her? Hunt down the talkative duo and sew their lips shut? Set fire to this village in glorious ablaze? She wasn't so sadistic to actually be serious about those thoughts, but her most primal instincts were kicking in. Then came the rejection.

“That's it...”

The gypsy girl slowly reached for a dagger holstered under her dress. Before she made it there, the man casually offered her the pudding. She scratched the side of her leg to play it off. “Oh...” she murmured as she reached out to receive the packaged good. His generosity caught her off guard - it truly did. She was used to most people being selfish jerks, more particularly the douche who raised her. Suika didn't know this man's intentions, but he gifted her, with what felt like, the gift of life. “Thank you, sir.” The tired looking gentleman strolled off without much word. Normally she'd feel a bit indebted, but the man reminded her of herself. Maybe he preferred to be left alone? Perhaps honoring that was the best form of repayment? The thought was abruptly interrupted when she caught the unsightly image of the Tweedles within her peripheral vision. “Shit... they're on to me!”</I><i></i> Two studly, big-chested looking women scoured the District frantically as they held a picture of what looked like Suika. Her obnoxious and overbearing tour guides were on her tail... the time to act was now.

“On second thought...”<i></i> she again joined the man who gave her the green tea pudding. “Oh, sorry sir, I hate to be a bother yet a second time...”<i></i> she forced her eyes to grow watery as if she was about to break into tears, “...the real reason I approached you is because I'm lost. I figured someone who'd give up their dessert to a child could be trusted for help.”<i></i> She knew that the complete opposite was the truth - creeps have been using sugary goods to lure in stupid, unsuspecting children for centuries. <I>“I rather take my chance with that than being found by those two.” Besides, the man looked harmless enough.

Suika felt somewhat guilty for harassing the poor fellow yet again, but this was a matter of survival. Even the green tea pudding given to her wouldn't be enough to save her from the inevitable torment of those two blabbermouths. "Please sir, help me get home."</B><i></i> she pleaded as she took a cautious glance back. <B>"We have to hurry." She held her pudding cup up. This was the closer. "Momma's sick and my siblings are hungry. Thanks to you, I found dinner."

Re: The Chronicles of the Pudding Dancer [Open]

As the intentionally-ignorant and unsuspecting Shieo continued his stroll; ultimately towards his apartment, where he could resume life as normal~ alone. A dream really. He ended up hearing the dreadful pitter-patter of a young-child, whom in which; was a rare sound or sight to be had in the Susukino District; or at least alone. Guess who? the invisible shadow to the rest of the world, spoke into Shieo's mind. It was grinding and clearly intent on trying to bother Shieo. It would be far too hopeful to say the gingerbread man... Why couldn't I just ignore it and have it go away?

We both know kids don't operate like that. Shieo had only responded with a long exhale through his nose. It didn't stop him in his tracks either, he continued on acting as if he hadn't noticed. Up until she eventually caught up next to him. With her beady, ever-growing anime-girl eyes, he had given her only a momentary furtive glance.

“Oh, sorry sir, I hate to be a bother yet a second time...” Forcing herself nearly to the verge of fake-tears. Shieo had rolled his eyes, without looking at her simply to avoid insulting her too much. “...the real reason I approached you is because I'm lost. I figured someone who'd give up their dessert to a child could be trusted for help.”

After her last spoken sentence, he sort of paused. A stifled 'ach' as if he was trying not to make a sound of utter disbelief. And then he abruptly turned to face her; crouched down to eye level and stared her in the globes of her world. The dullen, black eyes that the man wore; were clearly, the kind that were too exhausted to expend more than the minimal effort to even see~ But she could tell, he was staring into her soul.

"Loo-" As he was about to speak; she continued her plight. Breaking out the hunger, sick, family and various other tactics that any half-assed parlor monkey knew to at least try. Simply giving a squint of his already half-lidded eyes, he was trying to find words. They were hidden, buried; or perhaps he simply didn't want to say them for the sake of saving some face. The boiling feeling in his gut just could dwell any longer.

'Aaaah...' he let out a long exhale, not force; or obnoxious. But it was as if coming to terms with the situation. And so, while his bag of pudding hung by his left arm; he reached out with both hands and pressed them with just a bare-minimum amount of force against her shoulders. And held her there for a moment, not trying to impose; but to grab her attention. "Heh... Look, I can tell you're not from around here.
But you can't be serious either~ A person's eyes tell a lot, and you're not as innocent as you play~ And if you actually were dumb enough to trust some random stranger; you'd kinda' deserve whatever happened next,
neh? So. Deal with your problems, they're not mine to juggle."
And he finished with a flashed strange, completely out of character smile. As if he simply played along, and tried to make her think everything was alright.

And that was when she realized something peculiar. At the end of his smile, she noticed he simply... Vanished; not only that, she was about a hundred steps back, and in-front of the shop where the pudding was originally being sold.
From her back, she heard a familiar voice of the shop-keeper. "Hey kid! Scram, I told you we don't have any of that pudding left!" He had been waving a fan in her direction, as if trying to 'shoo' her away.

But perhaps, the strangest feeling of all. Was her eyes felt heavy, strained even; and a sickening sense of Deja-vu just occurred. And the two dumdums, weren't far off; still looking for her. And were about in the same spot she last saw them before her encounter with Shieo.
You're getting the hang of using me for your Genjutsu, mh... Think she'll be fine?

Several blocks away, the pudding bag slung over his shoulder. One hand tucked away in his pocket; he shrugged nonchalantly. "Dunno, not my problem off-shift."

“Blablabla”

A bead of sweat fell from Suika's head as she continued to smile cutely.

“Blablablabla”

Her eye twitched a little as her expression began to crack a bit.

“Blablablablabla” is all she continued to hear or, rather, what she chose to process. His tone said it well enough.

Regardless of the slight shift in her demeanor, the young gypsy girl wasn't too affected by the man's words nor was she hurt by them. In fact, she felt all too calm as he spat his disapproving words at her. In honesty, part of her was pissed and longed to rip his big, fat head off, but another, more rational side understood him completely. He did not owe her and had extended enough kindness, especially to a stranger such as herself. More than anything, she was more upset that every second he spent lecturing her was another one closer to getting her caught. Suika was also bummed that her little charade was so easy to see through, too. Despite the grumpy man's visible fatigue, he definitely carried more insight than she anticipated. Either that, or her desperation to hide from her tour guides made her a little sloppy in execution. Maybe it was both.

Before she could be impressed by how much outward composure he kept throughout his obviously irritated reaction, she found herself magically transported back to the pudding stand with the grumpy man no where in sight. Her head span a bit and the pudding-man's words felt like an echo. Deja vu?

“And why do I feel so... so exhausted?” she thought as she yawned and stretched out her arms. Her eyes felt heavy as she drooped away slowly. Did the man do this? Was she drugged? Or was this some type of shinobi art? The tan-skinned youth had a few questions surface, but most of that was clouded by whatever spell she fell under.

“One thing's for sure...”
she muttered under her breath, “...I'm going to kick his ass someday. Him, Ringo, and all the other stupid adults out there.” She grinned halfway, amused by the thought. As she made her way into the crowd for cover, she lifted her hand up and noticed the green tea pudding cup still in her grasp. “Score!” she yelled, despite her fatigue. Normally, she'd never react in such a way to draw attention to herself, but she was a green tea pudding fanatic.

“Suika?!”
called out two very familiar voices in unison. Uh oh.
