Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

I. The Beginning

The early days of Wind Country and the humans who inhabited it have been lost to the ravages of time. Upon the race known as the Ancients taking control of humans as their subjects, humanity's written history was erased with not only extreme prejudice but thorough execution. While it assumed, and in some instances proven, that many tried to maintain the stories before the subjugation by the Ancients through verbal and illustrated accounts, upon being discovered those who were identified as the main culprits, or sources of the stories, would disappear from existence. Either swept up to serve as a plaything or food for the Ancients and the fortunate few who would be killed on the spot. Because of this, many viewed the history, the stories of the times before, to be a curse, as it was clearly outlawed by their new overlords, so many avoided it like one might a plague. It was forbidden and it was forgotten.

As an Oracle, it is not my place to provide a personal perspective. It is my place to be an objective recorder of history. I will say, in this brief moment where it seems so ever relevant, that one of my largest regrets is knowing that a large chunk of the history of this world will remain discarded and unused. What a truly wasteful thing to do, what a truly foolish thing to do. I do not blame humans for abandoning their past to survive their present, I merely wish that more could have been done to preserve those tales.

When did humans appear upon the sands of Wind Country? Were they all one tribe? When did humanity start to mold and utilize chakra, was it ever before the rise of the Ancients? What was their language, their culture, their customs, their literature, their calendar... there are truly so many questions I wish I could not only ask but could have answered. It is frustrating. There is a rumor that at least one Ancient Court not only took in artifacts of humanity's culture before their domination but also collected records of the history... but in poetic fashion, the chances that humanity destroyed the very vaults and libraries of these Courts in their reclamation and decimation of the Ancients is almost a certainty. That is the painful circle that was sowed, where one race believes themselves to be superior and wishes to break the will of their conquered. From predator to prey, back to predator, back to prey... so on, and so forth. If such vaults might still exist, they would most likely be buried heavily below the desert expanse. Such archeological hunts would be admired but would be folly, as there is no guarantee in what you might find but is a guarantee you will experience hardships in such a pursuit.

This is the end of my subjective rhetoric, and I apologize for divulging my own musings.

What dawn of history that is known in Wind Country is that instilled by the Ancients, such history was maintained and recorded before it would be completely erased in the purging of their kind. Ancients seemed to be the first sentient, thought-having and expressing, creations in Wind Country's borders. Around them, and unclear if before or after them, was a host of various other creatures that could be described as a mixture of natural and supernatural. Before the Ancients, however, there was a single entity, a Creator. This Creator was a powerful being that through their design and craft engineered the first generation of beings that would become known as Ancients. After this initial wave, this Creator disappeared from history and from time. Ancients revered their Creator but that reverence over time would wane and would refocus on their own prominent figures, structuring their society into a feudal system of Courts.

Ancients believed themselves to be the caretakers of this land, and as such not only unified themselves under their fledgling Court system but corralled the various other natural, supernatural, and spiritual creatures within these borders into their fold as well. They would take notice when a new form of life would emerge, especially those who showed a similar aptitude as themselves. One such creation in the early stages of their rule was a growing sect of beings who would later become known as Demons. While not as powerful as the Ancients, even in the infant stages of their culture, Demons seemed to be a much more mischievous race than the contemporary other races and species. Seeing this as a nuisance that could grow into a threat, for the first time the young Ancient society would enact their first campaign of forceful domination. Demons, unlike humans, seemed to be able to remove themselves from the persecution by creating a rift into another plane. Demons would then mostly disappear from the landscape of Wind Country, biding their time for either the weakening or the fall of the Ancients.

More information on the specifics of the Ancients, their early stages, and specifics of their history will be found in a different collected work dedicated to them.

From what is known and collected, and remained preserved because it was entered into the historical recordings of the Ancients, would be that humanity would appear slowly at first and then very rapidly in pockets throughout Wind Country. At this time, the Ancients' society was fully formed and had been the ruling hand of Wind Country for some time, but even under such a watchful eye, there was no answer to where and when humans started to appear. They merely just seemed to be present and were spreading. Ancients viewed this as a thriving little creation at first, one physically and spiritually weaker than them, but grew more cautious and concerned with how quickly their population began to grow. This growth wasn't just their number, with each passing day the humans seemed to learn something new, gain some new trick or advancement, and within no time those at the top of the Courts saw many of the markers within this fledgling creation that they themselves possessed in their infancy. This was viewed as troubling, as it meant that this race could potentially grow to rival them, something that was unheard of and would upset the very balance and order they have been created and blessed to maintain.

Yet, this did not cause the Ancients to act harshly, there was still a belief, like all other lifeforms they had tended to within this land, that they could peacefully blend these humans into their already formed society. It wasn't until the Ancients started to notice the signs of humanity growing outside of Wind Country that they started to view those within their border as something more menacing. Unlike humans, Ancients were specifically tied to this land, the borders of Wind Country seemed to sustain them in a way that the land outside of those borders could not. The humans, however, continued to grow both inside and outside of those very same borders, something that they could not, and therefore were no longer viewed as a fledgling race but as a parasite, an infestation.

By accident, by misfortune, or by experimentation, it would soon come to be learned that humans possessed something that they referred to as a soul, that gave them a power known as chakra, and that seemed to be a highly nutritious consumable for Ancients. From this point onward the views of Ancients upon humans would continue to morph, now seeing what they believed to be the true purpose of humanity; cattle and livestock for their existence.

Humankind would initially try and fight back, but their oppressor held too many advantages. They, the Ancients, had already conquered and understood this land, they could outmaneuver and outwit the humans who seemed to be running blindly in defiance. It would take no time to completely round them up and begin the process of completely subjugating them.

This would be how humanity would exist for a few centuries; caged, oppressed, consumed, hunted, toyed with, and domineered. Many would attempt to rise up, attempting to motivate their fellow humans to revolt. Each time it would be harshly met with a swift end. Over time, the submissiveness believed to be instilled in humans and the arrogance, one of many traits that did not seem to reside in Ancients until they began to consume humans, of their rulers would cause an illusion of victory. As such, humans, while still firmly under the heel of the Ancients, would begin to receive more relaxed treatment. They would be allowed more latitude to establish colonies within territories of the various Ancient Courts. For the Ancients, this was to give their cattle a chance to give birth to the next generation of meals and laborers. For humans, it led to some level of stability, even if a facade.

These tribes and colonies, while separate and harshly controlled, would continue to plant seeds in the hope of giving birth to a savior, even if it was merely a facade they used to trick themselves into escaping their reality. Little did they know, and far too late before the Ancients would discover, but a day would come when finally a bud of hope would break free through the harsh soil...

...and his name was Primus.

Sunahoshi Noh, the First Oracle, and her creation of the Oracle Order collected and transcribed many of the works found in not only this passage but all other passages. Sadly, in 203PP, the Great Libraries of her and the Orders collected works would be damaged as the libraries were razed all throughout the countryside during the time known as The Plague Wars.

Timeline covered in this passage: The Undocumented Time (time before the birth of Primus) to Titan's Reign 1 (alternatively used as 1TR)
