Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been a few days since Fujimoto Shiro had ventured to the academy. Now that he had a grasp on the village layout, he decided it would be a great time to venture out some and visit the Aesculapium. Ever since his visit to the Bibliotheca Conscientiae, he had been curious about local medical practices and how he could help. He decided it would be best to volunteer his time helping younger children and the elderly. They were the ones who needed the most help as they were the most fragile of the bunch. Plus, the young ones would probably think he was cool and the elders would bestow upon him new knowledge.

He approached the vast building's courtyard and proceeded to enter through the main lobby doors. A stark contrast to the world outside, the hospital was at the bleeding edge of innovation. Shiro could see himself enjoying his time between these walls. He strode into the lobby and attempted to catch the attention of a passerby that appeared to carry some authority. This could be a long wait, but he was willing to dedicate his afternoon to doing so.

"Alrighty! Check, check, And check." Junko said walking down the halls of the hospital. Holding a clip board, he just finished checking on a series of patients. Considering the busy day, it was actually a walk in the park. People were being easily transported and taken care of.

Entering the lobby, Junko wore his normal medical attire consisting of his white jacket, suit, tie, watch, and glasses. Looking around, everyone seemed to be on the move and taking care of business. Giving a nod, Junko leaned on the lobby desk. "I might be heading home early." Junko mumbled with a smirk.

"You wish."

"Hahaha, a man can dream right?" Junko said looking at the receptionist in a joking matter.

"That wasn't a dream though. That was a thought of something that'll never happen."

Shaking his head, Junko sighed. Taking a look amongst the people, Junko noticed an odd pipsqueak amongst the crowds of people that maneuvered through the hospital. Apparently, he was trying to get someone's attention. "I guess I'll help the young lad out."

"Someone should, he's been standing there for quite some time."

"And you didn't help?"

"I have work to do."

Placing the clipboard on the desk, Junko smiled. "Well, here's a little more. For all you know, this could be a future medic of the branch. We do need recruits." Junko said making his way towards the kid. "May I be of some assistance to you pal?" Junko said giving the kid eye contact, immediately noticing his distinctive eye colors.

Fujimoto Shiro had waited in the lobby for what seemed like forever, but upon checking the clock on the wall realized that only an hour had passed. Again, he had plenty of time. As he was contemplating how much longer he should stay before leaving to grab some supper, he noticed a doctor stride into the lobby. He was older than Shiro obviously, but not old by any stretch of the imagination. His short, black hair and snappy dress were the first things Shiro noticed. As the man approached the lobby desk, he began to eavesdrop a bit as this doctor and a receptionist began making small talk. As soon as the man stated he would see what Shiro was up to, the boy's face lit up. *Finally! Somebody noticed me! And this guy has a white jacket, he MUST have some sort of pull here* the young boy thought, not noticing that the man had turned around and was now confidently striding toward Shiro.

"May I be of some assistance to you pal?" The question went in one ear and out the other. Shiro snapped out of his line of thought and rejoined reality. He gave a slight nod to the man and spoke.

"My name is Fujimoto Shiro. I just recently came to the academy, but training and classes are not all that life has to offer. I want to help out around here during some of my free time and learn what I can from the doctors I meet. I especially want to help children and the elderly. They need the most help with the little things that someone my age can actually do! So what do you say, doctor...doctor...what was your name again?" Fujimoto Shiro had just realized that while trying to act intelligent and impress this young and confident doctor, he had forgotten to allow the man to introduce himself after Shiro had done so. This was a tad embarrassing. It appeared there was nothing Shiro could do right! Oh well, at least it was better than falling flat on his face as he had done before.

"Tsuyoshi Junko" Junko said with a chuckle. Looking at Shiro, it was one thing Junko could tell, he sure was energetic with a eager passion to help others. A good trait to have, especially dealing with the medical branch.

"Well, you seem quite serious about this." Junko said folding his arms and looking at the pipsqueak with an eyebrow raised. Kneeling down to his level, Junko smirked. "Say, Let's get out of here and talk about this elsewhere." Junko said holding up his fist for a fist pound.

If Shiro would give Junko a fist pound, Junko would wave for the kid to follow him. "You are correct by the way, classes and training isn't all what life has to offer, but they are essential in this shinobi world we live in. No matter how old you are, theirs always room to learn." Junko would say as they walked through the halls of the hospital. Heading down and entering the cafeteria, Junko would receive several greetings.

After replying with a "Hey" or two, Junko would grab a table. "I'll take the usual and give him whatever he likes." Junko would say with a smirk. Just as his sensei did him, he'd do to others. First some food and drink, then get down to business.

Shiro saw the man extend his fist in front of the boy, waiting for a reply. This was his chance, and there was no way he would let this opportunity slip. Fujimoto Shiro made a fist with his right hand and, after reeling back a couple inches, made contact with Tsuyoshi Junko's fist. *He is SO cool* Shiro thought. He saw Junko wave at him, indicating they would go elsewhere. "You got it, doc!"

They walked down many corridors eventually settling in a cafeteria. Shiro heard Junko say that he would, "take the usual," and left the boy to order whatever he pleased. He was feeling adventurous today. "Surprise me! If you have a soup of the day, I will take that. Also, some water is fine." Shiro did not want to impose, so he kept his order short hoping for a pleasant surprise. After taking a seat, he stared at the young doctor awaiting a response. Shiro was not too big on small talk, but it was becoming clear that this would be a skill he would develop in the near future.

Upon Daisukes death, the medical branch lost a valuable member. Losing that member weakened the branch, creating a need for more medical personnel. In a recent meeting, kitsune brung this to the attention of the branch. "We need people like him. He's young, but he has potential and a drive to help. Quite a unique trait." Junko thought as a red bag was placed in front of him with a cold glass of milk.

"So, you want to volunteer, help the children and elderly, and obtain information from various doctors." Junko said leaning back in his chair. "Sounds like a good idea." Junko said with a pause. "But, dealing with the civilians of kumogakure, it'll take more than walking these individuals across the street and calling it a day. You know this right? After all, this is a hospital." Junko said opening the red bag and pulling out a fresh chocolate chip cookie.

After licking his lips, Junko took a small bite as a bowl of delicious mouthwatering chicken noodle soup was placed in front of Shiro. Giving him the proper silverware and his glass of water, his food was served. "Wow, maybe I should've gotten the soup." Junko said astonished. "I must ask, are you trying to pursue a true career in the medical field?" Junko would ask before Shiro started eating.

Shiro nodded as Junko asked his first question. Of course volunteering at a hospital would be more than just shuffling the young and the old around. He was ready. Ready for something more in his life.

He watched as Junko pulled out a cookie and take a nibble. *Maybe he is not as cool as I thought he was* Shiro mused. *A grown man with cookies and milk? Even I am too old for that.* Soon after this thought crossed his mind, Shiro's soup and water were placed on the table. Before he could take a bite, Junko's second question was fired right at the boy. Direct and to the point, maybe Junko was not too fond of small talk either. Regardless, this blunt question required an equally straightforward answer. Unfortunately, Shiro did not have one prepared. "Oh, I have no idea. I have never thought of a career up to this point. I just read this old book that just really made sense to me, and it inspired me to help others along my own path. I want to become a scholar-warrior, a traveling monk of sorts. At the same time, however, I would really like to run my own spa and help those with the more quotidian maladies." At this point Shiro was just showing off the large vocabulary he had acquired under the tutelage of Old Tanaka and realized he had far exceeded the response required. He stared back at Junko. "Sorry for the long-winded answer. To be honest, I have no idea what I want. I just know that this is the place I want to be right now." And with that, Shiro took his first bite of the chicken noodle soup that had been placed before him.

Listening to the boy, Junko nodded. It was perfectly understandable to not know your career at such an early age. Long as his head was screwed on right with good means for the future, Junko was good with that. Hell, Junko probably would end up visiting his spa one day.

"Well, when I was your age. I met someone to assist me and help me become the individual I am today. God bless the dead, that man went on and became the medical sennin and recently passed. If you ever get serious and decide to pursue a career in the medical field, then stop by the hospital and I’ll get your foot in the door. After you pass you're genin exam, I can register you as my official trainee if you wish. We could always use more mednin, so spread the word if you have any friends or siblings who're also interested. I can handle your training personally if you want. Both your medical and shinobi training, I mean. If you’re interested, of course." Junko said with a pause. "Starting off, I can even give you various assignments during your volunteer work, but you won't be able to do anything extreme unless you acquire the proper medical knowledge." Junko said before taking a few sips of milk.

Putting the glass down and revealing his milk mustache, Junko chuckled a bit. "Coming to think of it, my sensei almost told me the exact same words I told you." Junko said before eating another cookie.

Fujimoto Shiro was floored by the young doctor's proposal. He had not expected to receive such a generous offer even though it came from a grown man snacking on milk and cookies. Regardless, Shiro knew he could not pass up on this opportunity. "When do I start?"

"When do I start?"

Looking at the peculiar eyed boy, Junko raised a brow. "As soon as you're sure that this is what you want to do. Moving as a medical branch personnel or my pupil, you'll be taking a road were you can't look back." Junko said with seriousness.

"Once you're sure, we can actually get you started today without a problem, but don't rush it kid." Junko said with a smirk

Nodding, Junko finished off his last cookie. Taking his last sip of milk and setting his glass down with a thud, Junko eyes changed to a serious manner. "Well, let's get down to business then. Time to make this arrangement official." Junko said Putting his hands together.

"So, let's get this all down on paper." Junko said raising his right hand to his right ear where his earpiece was.

"Kitsune, I have an individual by the name of Fujimoto Shiro that I would like to register into the Medical corporation. I require your consent and the proper registration form. We're located in the hospitals cafeteria." Junko said radioing the medical sennin.

"Time to meet the new medical Sennin." Junko said bluntly.

[Calling Medical Sennin]

Kitsune sighed at Junko’s lack of using honorifics and made a note to lecture him later. ”Coming.” she simply said into her microphone before grabbing the needed registration form, and then leaving her office, headed for the cafeteria. It was a short walk from her office, and she arrived within minutes. ”Tsuyoshi-kun, you really need a course in etiquette.” she told him, as she then turned to face the kid ”You must be Fujimoto-kun, so lovely to meet you. The process is fairly simple.” she explained and presented the form to him.

”Simply fill out this form with Tsuyoshi-kun here, and you’ll be registered as a Medic-nin-in-Training, or MiT for short. At the same time, this means you’ll be recognized as a genin-ranked shinobi of the village. Then, when you’re done, simply turn the paper in to me, or my assistant.” she said and then turned to Junko again. ”I’m glad to see that you’re taking on a pupil, Tsuyoshi-kun. Make sure to train him well.” She winked at him and gave them both a smile. The future looked to be a bright one. Hopefully Junko would impart all of his knowledge on the new kid, and the branch would gain a great doctor.

More doctors… Always a good thing. We kinda need the staff. Kitsune thought to herself and gave Junko another glance. ”By the way, Tsuyoshi-kun, do you still want to go on that mission you requested? Or would you prefer staying here and training your kouhai once the form is approved?”

*She is so beautiful* Fujimoto Shiro thought of the woman in front of him. *Now would be an awful time to make an embarrassment of myself.* This woman must be the Kitsune to which the young doctor was referring. She seemed to have a commanding and captivating presence. Shiro was enraptured.

"Make sure to train him well," she said. Shiro returned back to reality at this point and looked back at Junko. Shiro heard the woman ask Junko about some mission or other, but he was, once again, no longer paying much attention. He was really doing it now. He was committing himself to a greater purpose. Hopefully this opportunity would result in his achieving the dream of becoming a scholar-warrior. Surely a mednin would have to be quite knowledgeable about a great many subjects in order to heal the ill and save lives. They must also be mighty warriors in order to protect those in their care, especially if that means aiding them on the field of battle. No doubt young Shiro had a lot to learn, but he was eager to begin.

To Junkos surprise, the old lady arrived quicker then expected.

”Tsuyoshi-kun, you really need a course in etiquette.”

Listening to her words, Junko actually smirked. He was much different from the beginning of his sensei's death. He no longer had the reaping look in his eyes with a heart of despair. Instead, he Had closure thanks to Hito. After their meeting, Junko had time to think and sort things out. Coming to a conclusion that Daisuke trusted the lady before him.

He gave her the title of sennin, and the title of sister when he gave her the feline contract. That wasn't enough for Junko to truly trust her, but he could tolerate her to some degree. "I apologize, but it'll take some getting use to." Junko said in response.

”I’m glad to see that you’re taking on a pupil, Tsuyoshi-kun. Make sure to train him well.”
”By the way, Tsuyoshi-kun, do you still want to go on that mission you requested? Or would you prefer staying here and training your kouhai once the form is approved?”

"I've reconsidered on taking the mission actually. I'd actually like to jump into my exam ASAP. That way, I can stay here and train Shiro and strive to become a better medic. I feel as if that's what Daisuke would've wanted." Junko said with a nod. Turning to Shiro, Junko winked. "You want to be a scholar-warrior? I'm going to help get you there." Junko said handing him a pen from his coat pocket.

"Please state your name, date of birth, and age for the record" Junko said, starting his pupil off.

Kitsune smiled and patted Junko on the shoulder. ”Good.” she said and winked ”But you don’t have to go all out with it. Shinrya-sensei will do.” she added before looking back at Shiro ”You’ll be getting an excellent sensei, y’know. Tsuyoshi-kun here knows his stuff.” she said and smiled. This was an excellent development, for everyone. Then, Junko mentioned that he’d prefer getting an exam instead of a mission.
”An exam, hm? Alright. I’ll schedule one and let you know when it is. And where, for that matter.” she told him ”Alright boys. I’ll leave you two to it. I’ve got some paperwork of my own to handle now.” she finished, and waved at them as she turned around and walked back to her office, intentionally giving her hips a bit of extra swing as she walked, just to give the two males something to stare at.

"Fujimoto Shiro is my name. Healing the sick is my game. My date of birth was January fourth of thirteen years ago. You can tell by my youthful glow, doh." Shiro was not proud of his rhyme, but it would do.

Looking at his student with his eyes wide, Junko paused. Breaking the silent moment with laughter, Junko held his stomach. "Nice rhymes, didn't expect that." Junko said rubbing his stomach. Back when Junko was his age, he could remember numerous moments when he joked with his sensei.

"Maybe this is the wrong branch for you. You might need to be in a branch that specializes in taking enemies down in rap battles." Junko said with a smirk. Flipping the page in the registration form, Junko continued. "Time for the interview portion of the Registration. These are questions every MiT goes through." Junko said beginning the series of questions.

"Interview Questions"
1. Tell me why you want to work here?

2. What are your goals for the future, in general?

3. What is your greatest strength?

4. What is your greatest weakness?

5. Describe yourself.

6. Describe your career goals for the medical field. Ex: you expect to be a chief one day and specialize in two or three different subjects.

7. Do you prefer to work alone or on a team?

8. How do you handle pressure?

9. How would you handle it if your boss was wrong?
