Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Magenta colored lightning raged through the training field as Doi let off another of his stronger attacks at the wooden training dummy in front of him. Since he was free today, the young boy left his home during the early morning to train on his own. Doi was set on improving the timing of his new Fissure Slash technique. It was a very strong, mid-range technique that he could pull off unarmed or with his chokuto if he desired.

Blade in hand, Doi brought his chokuto above his head and quicky slashed downwards, unleashing a razor sharp arc of storm energy at the already battered training dummy. The arc of energy sped through the air in a bright magenta display until it finally struck the defenseless training dummy. Instead of immediately exploding on contact, the razor sharp arc cut right through the wooden dummy and continued down it's path. Eventually exploding off in the distance once it'd weakened a great deal.

The jutsu was powerfull and fast. Yet, Doi couldn't help but feel that the timing was still very off. There was a brief opening in his defences as he readied the adequate amount of chakra in his body and went through the proper slashing motion. What he wanted most was to cut off that window of opportunity. It would be perfect if he could go through the motions with blinding speed without having to use Storm Mail to enhance his physical capabilities.

Not long after the small explosion had gone off, did Doi feel a subtle presence near him. As if on cue, one of the bushes to his right began to shake.

What kind of small creature could've been moving around inside the bushes? A rabbit? A snake? He hoped it was a snake; he really liked them. Doi slowly inched himself closer and closer to the green shrub. Doi couldn't see inside the bush because of the leaves covering his view. Bending down to his knees, he reached forward. After pushing the leaves and a couple stray branches to the side with his left arm, the young genin was fianlly able to catch a glimpse of the animal in question. It was a small furry creature with black and white lines vertically going down its back. It looked like a squirrel but was too small to be considered. Might it be a chipmunk? He knew they tend to live around forest like areas like these, so it was very possible.

Sensing Doi's presence, the chipmunk looked up at the boy. It didn't run off, surprisingly, and instead approached him.
"Hey there." He slowly stuck his free hand out towards the furry creature to make sure it wouldn't turn aggressive. The chipmunk squeaked as if replying to Doi's greeting and jumped onto the boy's arm. The boy slightly pulled back in surprise as the chipmunk proceeded to run up his outstretched arm and onto his shoulder. "Safe to say you're friendly, isn't it? Do you live around these parts?" The chipmunk jumped off of Doi's shoulder and ran until it was a fair distance away. It promptly turned to squeak in Doi's direction as if signalling him to follow before turning around and running again.

Doi stood up and began to follow the energetic chipmunk through the forest.

The chipmunk was much faster than Doi'd anticipated. Keeping pace with the small forest creature took more effort than he thought it would. It constantly ran through bushes and other plant life. Doi admittedly almost lost track of it a couple of times. Eventually, the chipmunk stopped running and stood in front of a large tree. Seeing this, Doi dusted himself off to remove all the dirt and leaves that had accumulated on his person while running through bushes. With the small creature's eyes on him, the boy began surveying the tree. He could see there was a small opening near the base of the tree.

The chipmunk turned around and proceeded to enter through said opening. Doi bent down to his knees to get a better view. The opening at the base of the tree lead into a decently sized hollow space. "So this is your home?" He could see various kinds of forest nuts stacked up inside. "All of this is yours?" The chipmunk squeaked back as if replying 'yes'. It then grabbed a small nut from the stack and held it out towards Doi."For me?" The chipmunk once again squeaked as if replying 'yes'. "Thanks, that's very kind of you." Doi smiled as he accepted the offered nut and put it into his right pocket.

"Now, how do I refer to you? Mind if I give you a name?" There were plenty of cool names he could give the small creature. It was fast — very fast —, so perhaps a name related to speed? "How about 'Zoom'?" The small creature shook its head. "No? How about 'Hayai'?" Another head shake followed.

This turned out to be a harder task than he'd expected it to be. Maybe the names he'd chosen thus far weren't cool names? If only the chipmunk could say what name it wanted in a way Doi could really understand. That'd save the trouble of going through a list of names and make things easier. More time passed with Doi going through more names until one finally got a different reaction from the small chipmunk. "How about 'Shinrin'?" The chipmunk didn't shake his head this time, and instead began to squeak excitedly. It appeared he'd finally stumbled upon a name that was appealing to the small creature. Though, after thinking about it... why did the chipmunk like this name exactly? Was it because of the way it sounded? "Shinrin... Alright. We'll go with that then." The young genin then stood up from his position on the ground and stretched his limbs. The position he'd been in while observing Shinrin's home in the tree trunk wasn't painful, but it wasn't very comfortable either.

"So, Shinrin... could you lead me back to the training field where we met?"
He wanted to spend more time with the chipmunk, but needed to make sure he knew how to find his way back. It'd be a hard task in the dark. Squeaking in response, the chipmunk ran out from inside its home in the tree trunk and proceeded to dart off into the forest. Doi quickly followed the small creature; once again noting how fast Shinrin was.

As the pair strolled through the forest, Doi made note of a couple of things he'd missed during the time he was chasing Shinrin. He saw some deer drinking from a nearby pond, a couple of bird nests in the trees, as well as some vegetation he didn't recognize. It was quite the pleasant walk, and it looked like his chipmunk companion was enjoying it as well.

Once Doi and Shinrin finally arrived at the spot where they'd met, the genin spoke up. "Thanks for leading me back here, Shinrin." The teen kneeled before his chipmunk companion and stuck out his hand towards the furry creature. Said palm facing upwards. "I'll be back soon so we can hang out again, ok?" The chipmunk placed both its small hands on the genin's palm and squeaked in response to Doi's; the series of squeaks appearing to be a confirmation of the boy's inquiry. "Cool," The genin said as slowly he stood up and began walking away at a moderate pace."Take care!"

Shinrin happily waved at Doi's retreating form as the young boy slowly disappeared into the forest's tree line. Once the genin was out of sight, the chipmunk turned around and began walking in the opposite direction.

After a brief walk through the village streets, Doi eventually wound up at his residence. The genin used his house key to open the front door and walked up the stairs to his room on the second floor. After quickly storing his Chokuto in his closet, he jumped onto his bed for some shut eye.
