Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Welp, he never thought that the day when he is able to actually run the academy would come, but under the seal of the new Raikage… Maru was now headmaster of the academy. It is quite a promotion since he was a mere substitute teacher, plus he had an official office now and he simply wanted to check it out before he actually made his announcement to reveal the mystery of who the headmaster actually was to begin with. After all, even he didn't know what happened to the last headmaster of the academy but then again he still doesn't know what happened to all the high ranks that mysteriously vanished. Maybe the headmaster vanished just like that too, along with a lot of other shinobi who just up and vanished. Strolling through the halls, Maru began to head towards the headmasters office since that was actually a thing around here, expecting it to be dirty due to the fact that no one's been in there plus he heard some academy students bombed it. Without hesitation he walked up to his office door, used his tail to open the door, looked inside and he was greeted with…..

"Welcome to your new office supreme commander!" LOUD shouted, floating over a lamp next to another of Maru's youkai named Oof who was sitting at the headmasters desk waving at its master. "We just cleaned up the place for you and organized the student files." said the masked youkai. "Didn't find it fair for Commander to have clean his own office, I swear those HOOMANS can be rather filthy at times… Who bombs their own work place!" shouted the small demon hopping out of the seat the youkai waddle over to where the two loveseats were with a coffee table that sat in between the two comfortable seats. The one eyed floating youkai gildes from her place next to the lamp to hover next to her partner Oof. Maru looked around at the place, taking in the sight of how well his youkai cleaned up the place… plus the aura of fear that made the place looks misty made office feel like home. Maru laid on his back on the couch that rested on the opposite side of the seat where Oof and LOUD were sitting. Making a kitsunebi in his palm while he stared up at the ceiling, aimlessly tossing it up into the air then catching the fireball he knew his two youkai had something else to tell him. "So what else, do I get a foxy nine tailed assistant?" he spoke this in a way that made the two lesser demons feel like he wasn't playing around.

"Uhhh… no buuuuuuuuuuuuut...." the purple youkai said then made a huge stack of paperwork appear that was enough to cause the coffee table collapse. "Here's all the backed-up work that needs to be taken care of, future projects, some student request!" she yelled with a hint of excitement, after all she was a busy spirit so work like this would be like Christmas for beings of her kind. Maru sitting up, he looked at the workload then scratch his head then looked at the busy spirit as if to say 'Yeah, no' but the masked youkai produced a book that was labeled as Emna's Book which contains the scores, deeds, and a bit of information on every student that has been or is currently going to the academy. 'Also some records on the student that have been to the academy, figured this will be useful to track down more youkai like… well you!" Maru pointed at the masked youkai. "Now that's something. Tell ya what, how about you look for new youkai recruits while LOUD does all the paperwork." said the fox as if he was giving them a deal of a lifetime while he rested in his seat, but the two lesser demons both gasped upon hearing this. They looked at each other, then back at Maru, and leaned in to ask the million dollar question.

"B-but what will you do!

Maru sat up for moment then rested his cheek on his hands. "Simple, I'll just be right here on this seat trying to empty this cursed wine bottle that I've been fighting with." He said, magically producing the bottle that had hairy goblin legs and one eye. Flailing about as if it wanted to be put down however not strong enough to get out of the kitsune's grasp. Shocked beyond belief, the two lesser demons just stared as their commander turn the bottle up to his mouth, then pulling out his favorite magazine of the foxy nine tailes that he hasn't actually looked through. Handing the bottle to one of his tails which coiled around it like a snake, he opened the magazine up to greet himself with the images of his gamer girl fox while his youkai did his work for him. Obviously he wasn't expecting anyone barging into his office unannounced to him so he didn't bother to lock the office, the door held slightly ajar causing the vapor like aura of fear to leak from his office.

The two of them were mirror images of each other, the only difference between them visible for the eye to see being the colour of their hair and eyes. Other than that, the two of them were identical. Twins, one might assume. That assumption would not necessarily be wrong, but neither would it be the right conclusion. They could be called twin souls, in that they had come into being at the same time, side by side, but typically when humans thought of twins they thought of a bond of blood, not of souls.

Their small pale hands held on to the other, one hold gentle and the other tight. The gentle grip reassuringly squeezed the other, reminding his bonded that he was here for him. The golden-eyed child glanced at the red-eyed one, and red eyes looked back and offered a small smile, and that was enough. “‘Kari…” The golden-eyed one spoke and then trailed off. The small smile answered him. “Yes, Eizou?” As close as the two of them were, they could not read the other’s thoughts. The golden-eyed one, Eizou, shook his head. “Nevermind,” He softly responded after a pause. Still, the small smile did not falter in the slightest.

It wasn’t uncommon for Hikari’s bonded human to seem as if he was about to ask something only to not. He attributed this to two things. Sometimes, Eizou decided now was not the time and place for their conversation. The majority of the time, however, the kami was fairly certain that his human was simply checking to see if he would respond. He always did, of course. Unlike the other entities in Eizou’s life up to this point, Hikari never ignored his human. He would always respond, so long as he still lived. One day, Eizou would be confident in his response, and he would never need to seek reassurance. But for as long as he needed it, Hikari did not mind reassuring his human.

They had been wandering the academy, looking for some sort of authority figure that wasn’t busy. They had been supposed to talk to the secretaries, they were pretty sure, but the secretaries hadn’t been where they were supposed to be. Hikari had suggested that they were on break, and Eizou had decided that made sense, but neither of them felt much like waiting around, so they were trying to find someone else. That was how the two of them had ended up in front of a place labeled the Headmaster’s office. That sounded like a position of authority to Eizou, but he hesitated before the door that was open just a crack.

Encouragingly, the kami squeezed his human’s hand, and the golden-eyed child pushed the door open, only to freeze. The scene that greeted them was entirely unexpected. There were two youkai. Feeling the oppressive aura from the most human-shaped one, he amended that number to three. Neither of them thought there was anything wrong with Youkai, not really, but in their experience, youkai tended to think there was something wrong with them. His parents’ bonded, his siblings’. They had all avoided him at best, been outright cruel at worst.

The human’s grip on his partner’s hand became tighter still. He could hardly process what was going on. The kami waited for a moment, giving his bonded a chance to act before he did. Moments passed, with the human of the two doing nothing. “...Excuse us, we were looking for a person in a position of authority. We were unable to find a secretary in the area designated to us. Do you have a moment to spare, sir? We are new students,” The kami explained, voice soft. His human gave him a nervous glance, but still found himself unable to say anything, not knowing what he would say even if he could find it in himself to speak. Hopefully, everything would turn out alright.

Maru made himself comfortable on his couch, holding his dirty magazine in both hands he turned the page to see an image that he hasn't seen before and he brought the tail that was holding his bottle of wine to his mouth then took in a couple of mouthfuls of wine. It would've been great if not for his one eyed youkai beginning to scold him for not wanting to do what she believed was a gift. "Supreme Commander! With all due respect I believe-' the purple youkai was cut off by an 'excuse us' which caused both of Maru's youkai servants to flinch in surprise and made Maru spit his wine up to the side! Getting the attention of all three, Maru had closed his nudie magazine to turn around to see what his two other youkai were looking at to see that some kid had wondered in his office.. and without knocking.

Maru couldn't quite put his finger on it but from both his youkai's aura of fear and his aura of dread there was a faint aura of calm. A weak presence of holy chakra but still there like a fly buzzing around which how the aura made him feel. Not caring to hide the magazine nor the bottle of wine he held in his tail the kyuubi got up then lazily walked over to where his desk was. "Well… I wasn't expecting any students here today." Maru said as he took his seat at the headmaster's desk then set his magazine off to the side. "Well guess you came to the right place, names Yamamoto Yamaru, Maru for short. And I'm…." the one eyed floating youkai LOUD played on a drum that she magically created from an eye blast to give the moment a special flair before stopping. "The headmaster of this fine academy." Maru announced, taking another swig of his wine before setting the bottle down on the desk while his masked youkai Oof looked through some student files to see if it could find a student that looks similar to the child.

Seeing that one of the twins were looking nervous the masked fox guy gestured his hand to the bottle of wine that looked to be panting, looking at the twins with its one eye. "Want some rice wine from this weird magical living bottle? it never runs out of my favorite booze so it's fine." asked Maru. While waiting for the child to answer Oof found the child's file since it was stacked in with the ones it believe Maru would take a personal interest in, after all being close with the youkai world they are always looking for new recruits for Maru's small gang of demons. Adjusting himself in his seat so his tails were at a comfortable position, Maru proceeded with questioning them in what exactly did they wanted to see a person of authority. "Well shoot, what do you need to see a person of authority for? You need a tour around the academy? Other students giving you a hard time on the first day? Need help finding a class?" Maru asked, his youkai LOUD taking the file from Oof then handing it to Maru. Figuring the children would probably already tell him whatever it was so he set the file to the side and instead pulling a paper fan from underneath his mask to fan himself. Maru waited to see what the child wanted hoping that it didn't lead to more work.

If the human had not already been tense before, he certainly was now. Startling someone important enough to have their own office was hardly a good way to start out. He visibly cringed at the reaction that he perceived as negative, and his grip on the kami’s hand was painfully tight. Hikari squeezed back gently, a reminder that whatever happened, Eizou had his bonded by his side. For now, the kami said nothing, as he watched and waited for the youkai’s response. Surprise was not always negative, the kami knew, but his human was used to less than positive reactions.

That they were unexpected was clear, and it was a statement that only made the human more anxious. There was visible relief on Eizou’s face when told that they were welcome here, and it even helped him to relax some, with a bit of the tension in his form dissipating. The dramatic drum roll prompted a baffled blink from the human for a moment there, before his lips curved upwards in a shy smile. Surely, someone that bothered with a somewhat silly introduction like that could not be too terrible.

The offer of rice wine was met with another blink, before the child hesitantly shook his head. Eizou glanced at his bonded, meeting reassuring red eyes, before looking back at youkai headmaster. “Thank you,” He answered quietly despite his silent rejection of the drink. At the barrage of questions, he gave a hopeful look to the kami, who understood what was being communicated by his human. “This is Gitai Eizou, and I am Hikari, or ‘Kari, for short,” He began with an introduction, feeling it only right to do so after the headmaster’s own.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Headmaster. I believe that we were intended to receive a tour as well as our schedule, sir.” Here he hesitated, as Eizou was once more beginning to look a little nervous. “If it is not an inconvenience, sir, your assisting us with this matter would be greatly appreciated,” He added. All the while the kami kept up his slight yet present smile.

The child politely declined the rice wine, he knew that they probably wouldn't want to drink but hey the law doesn't have anything against children drinking. (Or at least that's what he thought.) He waited for the child to answer him, which Hikari answered while the Eizou guy remained quiet to let his twin answer for him. 'Mhm! Me-di-cal branch!' was the first thing he thought when seeing Eizou. Hikari seemed to have that fire that most students starting the academy always had since he spoke to him in complete confidence, this Eizou guy seemed to be a… sissy. Like, Maru isn't all manly man neither since he was super submissive, occasionally wears school girls outfits, and sometimes shapeshifts into female form but at least he didn't ACT like a wimp unless his succubus wanted him to be a sissy. Sissy as a kink was fine, being a sissy naturally? Medical branch. Maru tapped his cheek as they finished up telling him what exactly did they want then he began.

"Right, a pleasure to meet you Hikari and Sakura." the fox nicknamed Eizou since his name could translate into flourish which reminded him of flowers hence the name. "Well, so now that the introductions are out of the way we don't necessarily set the schedule here. We let Students choose what they want to learn so why don't you look through the list of classes to see what you want to learn…." he snapped his fingers which made his two servants stand up right in attention like soldiers before he proceeded to command the Cyclops to get him a list of available courses. Loud rushed to get the list of classes, quickly giving it to Maru and stayed floating there waiting in case the headmaster needed anything else. Maru handed the child the list of available courses that the academy runs, not including tutoring or special guest seminars. "Here. Look through these, pass two of them, wait until I feel like running an exam and maybe you'll get a headband. Maybe."

::Courses Available::

Affinity Courses : So you're interested in shooting lighting out of your hands? Through fireballs at people? Make it rain with a snap of your fingers? Well you'll probably want to go for Affinity Courses. These are all a student need in learning how to use the elements to their advantage.

  • Chakra 101 : A very basic lecture on how chakra and hand seals work. This explains the science as well as ways to improve a student's chakra control through meditation.
  • Elemental Release : Deals with all or one of the elements used by shinobi from Earth, Fire, Water, Lighting, Wind, and even the jutsu that don't require an element at all.
  • Understanding Alignment's : Some people are born with one, some gain them through forbidden practices. This course teaches students the power of Cursed, Spiritual, and Holy chakra along with the effects they have on each other. While some people may have an opinion on which one is better it's always helpful to learn since in the shinobi world you have to be prepared for anything and everything.
  • Special Bloodlines and Abilities : So you're something special? Need help knowing what you are or just curious on different Bloodlines? This course provides details into different Bloodlines, their strengths, and how most can awaken them. These techniques and special abilities are always changing, so it's always helpful to drop by in this course to see if there's anything new.
  • Clone/Creation Course : Often taught by summoner, this course teaches you about ninjutsu that can create instead of attack. This could range to anything but is not limited to creating weapons, creating beings, to making clones. If you are a master you can just about create anything.
  • Basics in Defense : While most ninja endures, if there's an attack that can be avoided you don't need to stand there and take it. This course teaches students defensive techniques from barriers, to using chakra armor to minimize damage, and to even dodge using ninjutsu. It's not always about how much damage you can do, it's about keeping alive for as long as possible and being one step ahead of your opponent.

Physical Courses : In these courses, it's almost always hands on since these courses deal with everything taijutsu! Here you may be exposed to intense physical exercises, learning how to craft weapons, and a great way for students to acquire free ninja tools. If you like punching, slicing, or shooting you may want some of these classes.

  • Basics in Melee Combat: Need to learn an effective way to hit someone with a staff? Wanna punch harder? How about learning vital areas to slice through? This course deals with all forms of close quarters combat and different forms of the martial arts. Classes obviously depends on your weapon of choice with most classes students will have to endure intense physical training to build up stamina. Though for students looking to get ripped, the basics in Melee is where you'd want to start.
  • Basics in Ranged Combat : When taijutsu comes to mind, hand-to-hand combat is usually what most people would think about. But it you aren't too good at close quarters combat than Range Combat is another choice. This you'll learn how to fire a bow and arrow, learning what you'll need to craft your own puppet, showing students how to throw a kunai and for students looking to branch away from traditional ninja weapons... How to fire a firearm. If you are looking to become a Puppeteer, a Ranger, or even a Sniper this is where you'd like to start.
  • Ninja Tools/Gear 101 : Ninja tools are very important, especially if you get into a situation where fleeing is the only option. This course focuses on devices that anyone can use and the importance of certain ninja gear. Things such as armor, traps, how to patch yourself up if you're bleeding, explosive notes, and a lot more. This class will give you insight on why most shinobi choose to carry tools because these tools might be the very thing that'll save your life.
  • Weapon/Puppet Crafting and Handling : This course is specialized in the art of crafting just about any kind of weapon imaginable. Usually taught by Blacksmiths they grade on whether your weapon can kill, how tough your weapon is, and what kind of items are augumented within your weapon.
  • Stealth 101 : There are ways to catch your opponent off guard, while less honorable this course teaches students how to use the terrain and the visibility of the environment to their advantage. A shinobi cannot hit what they cannot see and cannot defend against something they never see coming. This course is good for some would be assassins and for someone looking to study to one day be a spy.
  • Poison Crafting : Poisons, toxins, and venoms come in different forms. This includes powders, liquids, and gases. Students in this course learn how to craft toxins, apply poisons to their weapons, and explaining how to use powdered poisons so they will help students in stealth mission. Poisons are perfect for young shinobi to use to weaken their opponent and occasionally you'll get a chance to "test" these concoctions on some looney teachers or students who drink them! For science that is....

Sensory Courses : These courses are dig deep on the science of genjutsu. While you won't be killing anyone with genjutsu alone, they serve a purpose in weakening an opponent based on what sense you are attacking. These courses focuses on strengthening and opening the mind of students. Chakra control is a must for a student to apply for these courses, mostly due to the fact that a illusionary attack requires a lot of chakra in order to keep control of the sense that you are attacking. These courses often come off as boring for young shinobi who prefer to use brute force however for students who endure the lecturing and long meditations will soon learn that there is no shinobi they cannot gain the upper hand against.
  • Principles Of Using Genjutsu : Genjustu do not require the amount of physical training that both ninjutsu and taijutsu needs; but it does require a large amount of chakra to attempt to attack and control one of the five senses your opponent has. Student's will be learning different strategies and tactics to using genjutsu that way when they come face to face with an impossible opponent they are able to cripple them without issue.
  • Protection From Genjutsu : While being a Genjutsu user does give you an advantage in combat, the tricky part is avoiding Genjutsu when your opponent uses it. This requires Students to think outside of the box in knowing how to keep powerful genjutsu at bay. This can be solved by barriers, clone confusion, cancelling, and steath but there are some master's who fired out how to attack genjutsu directly when they are casted!
  • Chakra Control and Senses : Chakra control is important when casting genjutsu, knowing what senses to attack is even more critical. This course focuses on senses and the best way to figure out how to cripple your opponent based on what abilities your opponent has while at the same time learning how important it is that maintaining the genjutsu since no one would want to lose the upper hand against their opponent.
  • What is Illusionary Damage: When Student's see Illusionary damage in textbooks, they believed that this damage will just go away since it's not real. While there's no mark on the body, things that uses illusionary damage scars the mind and this damage cannot be healed under normal circumstances. This course is to tell the dangers of genjutsu and how it can be shattered in order to inflict painful damage to the mind that will put you in a coma if you're lucky and in the grave if you can't pieces your mind together. This also goes over other ways of taking illusionary damage such as from spiritual damage, foxfire, and even from Kinjustu's.
  • Applying Chakra Natures to Genjutsu : At a certain point, the users chakra becomes more attuned to a particular element and begins to take on properties of said element. This course teaches students the benefits in applying an element to their genjutsu. Having a fire based genjutsu for example we have will make the enemy believe they are on fire or having a lighting based genjutsu will make the enemy feel like they are being stunned. All the better in weakening your opponent enough to move in for the kill.
::Special Courses::

These courses are for students who are looking to learn in a different topic than the three kinds of course provided. Perhaps you want to learn about Kumogakure history or maybe you want some general education under your belt. Well worry not for the Academy provides students with general education as well as seminars where people from other branches teach children about one of their branches. While most students opt to go to the branch seminars they are strongly encouraged to take some basic education classes as well since they won't be fighting all the time and wars don't last forever. Perhaps you'll pick up some skills that will help in other careers besides being on the frontlines.

  • Mathematics
  • Vulgar Variant (Taught in Library)
  • Kumogakure History
  • Economics

After giving the child a list of available courses, he stood up then gestured for his assistant get out of his way. Scooping up his dirty magazine so he could have a little more entertainment while showing the twins around his school. "Now about that tour, we could get started on that so you know where the classes are. Make sure you memorize where they are Hikari for your twin Saaaaakura here." he teased Eizou again wiggling his hips when he said the child's nickname.

The nickname made Eizou blink golden eyes in confusion, repeating it under his breath with some uncertainty, but he otherwise did not protest it. A pretty flower was a far better name than the actual spelling of his name. His name sounded fine when said aloud, but the spelling of it was off, compared to the usual spellings. After all, who used the word ‘reflection’ as a name? His parents, apparently. His names together looked like a joke, ‘mimicry reflection’. But it was what it was. In comparison, Sakura was a nice name.

They each peered down at their own list of classes. Hikari’s eyes scanned the list faster, and he spoke up again first. “Basics of Defense, for sure. Maybe some of the other Affinity Courses?” Eizou glanced at his companion, then at the headmaster, before hesitantly speaking up. “Anatomy,” He stated with a surprising amount of certainty.

Hikari’s smile widened. “And?” The kami prompted gently. “...Melee and Poison, too…” Eizou bit his own lip, but focused on Hikari and their conversation as he was now, he forgot the headmaster’s presence. “...’Kari’d be a good medic, but…” He paused, before quietly continuing. “‘Kari, what about ANBU?” He asked softly.

Kamis specialized in healing, so Hikari had the natural skills to make for a good medic. But Eizou liked taking things apart, not putting them together. Fixing was what Hikari did, and Eizou knew that was what Hikari liked doing. But simply healing would be ill suited for Eizou. Hikari gave a slight nod. “You can think more about it, but if that’s what you want, we could do that,” The kami agreed in the same soft tone.

Hikari glanced back at the headmaster. “Will any of those classes be available soon, sir?”

As the child glanced at the classes that the academy was holding, the basics in defense was one thing that he for sure wanted to take. Beyond the defense class the child seemed to be interested in… a lot more classes than he thought a child would be willing to take. "Hey take as many classes as you want, the minimum requirement is that you must pass at least two but yanno… The exams might test on something that you aren't good at. That's if and only if the examiner thinks you're ready for said exam ." he admitted that part since he's rejected a lot of students from taking the Gennin exam, mostly due to him wanting to be lazy and use fake examination requests to get out of the office. He was usually a first come, first serve kinda person when it comes to giving exams. Requesting around one to three students to meet him at some place to be tested for graduation and whoever got to him late would unfortunately have to go back to class.

Maru could see that the child was a bit on the fence about joining the medical branch or the Anbu so he decided to give them a little information that should make them both happy. "You know, the medical branch does have a field division that works jointly with Anbu. You even get combat training from those masked monkey's if you want." the fox explained. "I have a daughter like you who went on to become an Anbu… needless to say she wasn't happy in the branch. Just putting it out there." he told the child before letting go of the topic entirely. At the end of the day, what Branch he wanted to join was up to him to decide and if he ended up being a monkey then more power to him. He can't say that he didn't try to steer him into a career he'd be successful in since a lot of children always have this strange mental defect to not give up no matter what was thrown at them. Good for being a soldier fighting for the glory of the village but downright insane to someone who can see an easier path.

Twisting the knob to his office, he opened the door attempting to lead the child out of his office to get this whole tour thing started. That was until he asked him another question on whether the classes will be available soon which made him sigh. "Yes. Yes. All those classes are available, I teach them myself along with a few freaks I've hired. Speaking of freaks….." Maru opened his magazine to a page he hadn't seen before, his eyes widened then he closed the magazine surprised that it wasn't just a bikini picture that hid the more… revealing photograph of a silver haired fox girl. "That's definitely going to be a form I'm gonna take." he said out loud to himself, a bit frustrated that he couldn't look at it longer so he could fully study the magnificent silver haired Youko further.
