Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.
Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.
Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.
The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.
Soft yet reinforced leather vest and pants cradled demonic skin as he sat alone simply breathing in remnants of the collective natural chakra from the leylines beneath the ancient former fortress turned dojo as they fed through the structure and aided the many implements that were housed within. Akuma Kuro the original form of Toraono Kuro sat alone in a well lit chamber resting upon a sandwyrm bone throne that had recently been sealed against the actions of a dark sage. The precautions the Toraono Clan had been forced to take against the incursions of the Daimyo's Sovereign forces. Even with their ever evolving perceptions and knowledge of their enemy they were still two or three steps behind but Kuro had made deals. He had struck bargains, he had gathered allies he was preparing to take the war back to the daimyo before they marched in full upon an unprepared village. With a growing sense of reality as a whole Kuro took a rare moment to rest even as his avatars completed their rounds and duties around Sunagakure. He was prepared for an attack, or even a rush of visitors. He was prepared or so he thought...
A small crowd of people could be seen coming towards the dojo. Most of them looked unwell, others looked weary and tired. Rounding them up in the back was a heavily armoured figure marching. Every once in a while, Kuro would notice this figure checking behind his back, as if he was expecting someone else to be coming. Closer and closer they were coming, and Kuro would in time see the nature of these people. They were slaves, the most important part being were. He would see their wrists chafed and a distant tan line present. It would not take Kuro long to figure out that this was his little baby brother leading these people into the dojo for safe keeping. There was something spiritually odd though. Every so often he would sense his true baby brother's soul flare up - this was present each and every time Sousuke would check behind him, he was looking for something. In truth, the Kazekage expected that he was being followed. That feeling of concern and apprehension was that of Tsume's. A rare sign, as it was a show of concern really. Sousuke had shown concern before, but clearly there was something different here, which was a semi-present Tsume taking effect.
"In we go. We'll make permanent residence a consideration for the time being, but this will have to suffice for now."<i></i> Sousuke spoke to the people with him. "You will be residing in the Household of the Toraono. Fear them not... and yes I realize that may take time, but he is certainly a goodly host. He will not farm those under his roof, unless they desire to harm others under this roof."<i></i> Sousuke would pull off his helmet, and look to his spiritual older brother. Sousuke's eyes were still very much dark. "I'll explain this in a moment. We need to ... provide for these people. I intercepted a slave caravan enroute to Soragakure."<i></i> Sousuke explained. Yes. Indeed little Sousuke had been off doing his own things once again, this time he was taking a small fight to Soragakure.
***
Sometime after getting everyone situated, cleaned, fed, and allowing them to rest, Sousuke would take the time to explain to Kuro exactly what he had done. Sousuke was lying down on the floor staring up at the ceiling. There were three empty bowls of soup that had surrounding Sousuke, who had indeed had his fill of food. "Roku had picked up on a slave trade. I've looked into it and decided to ... do something about it."<i></i> Sousuke's eyes would narrow. "It's going to be a long war ... or whatever it is we're going to be in for."<i></i> He would look over to Kuro, "I suspect the Daimyo will eventually begin changing the trade routes or do something to make us look like the villains." Sousuke would close his eyes for a moment. "In your many years ... has there ever been a line you've decided you would never cross?"<i></i>
Kuro would summon his clan to take the people to be fed and bathed and have their wounds looked over while secretly he would use his enhanced eyesight to check them all for traps, tracking devices, and explosive embedded within their flesh. The Cabal had made Kuro far more pragamatic and for the worst part a bit paranoid but that came stock and trade for diplomats, assassins and of course demon blooded. In Kuro's case he was all three and then some. As the recently freed slaves were taken to warm medicinal open baths and given fresh clothing, food, and drink. Kuro would wave his brother over to sit with him upon the massive throne. "There are a few lines I will not cross but there may come a time when those boundaries are tested. What is it that makes you worry besides the obvious Sousuke-chan?"<i></i>
Sousuke would sit up collect his bowls and place them on the table. He considered taking another bowl, and that he would. Miso soup was always good. He would sip from the bowl as it was still piping hot. He looked to Kuro was was sitting on the throne. He would walk forward and take a seat on the steps. He would again take another sip. "It's just the nature of things. I considered it crossing the line when I formally took the title of Kazekage. I wanted Katuso to take it, and he wouldn't. Given the situation that had come afterwards ... and given some of the things Fuu had said to me in the past ... I crossed the line and did it."<i></i> He would pause for a moment and look at Kuro. Yes, Sousuke knew Fuu when she was that older grey haired woman. Kuro was there too the first time he had met with her, but Sousuke had sought her out afterwards. "She had said that ... a dead god's words would not remain forever. I suspected, that what she had said had affected my decision in some manner. To truly become Kazekage, and in that I had done something unprecedented in our history. Was it my decision to become Kazekage, or Katuso's decision not to become Kazekage that was ..."<i></i> He hesitated. The word he was going to say was 'original sin'. Sin though was a concept based in religion, which of course now was a farce. Mother Suna was not the goddess. She was merely an Ancient who was masquerading as a human. The Cabal crisis had awaken her and ... allowed things to unfold as they did.
"Perhaps I've crossed more lines than you've had or considered. Perhaps you've crossed more lines than I have. It's ... something that perhaps should not bother me, but it does. Eventually we cross a line and become truly ... monsters. I say monsters in the context of people like Shouki. It's people like him that need to be stopped, and destroyed entirely."<i></i> The truth of the matter was that, the next time Shouki was defeated. Sousuke would take to a very visceral way of defeating him. Whereas Magentica was destroyed by diseased, Shouki would be dismembered and burned with plasma so that regeneration could not be made possible. "Has your mother and father been proud of most of your actions? Are they still ... proud of what you've become now? I would think that my parents would be disappointed in me, disappointed in that I could not get Katuso to become Kazekage."<i></i>
"It's just the nature of things. I considered it crossing the line when I formally took the title of Kazekage. I wanted Katsuo to take it, and he wouldn't. Given the situation that had come afterwards ... and given some of the things Fuu had said to me in the past ... Kuro would sigh like an older brother would and remove his leather vest so that Sousuke might take note of the golden runes amidst his crimson and black demon and runic terran runes. Kuro would not break his pact but he would let his brother know what it was that was truly occurring as only someone from the outside looking in could.
"Sousuke you have been at war with yourself since the day you were born and that is another story but what I am alluding to now is that you never had a chance to just be you were always destined to be something more, someone else. Katsuo would not accept the throne which was his by blood rites so you stepped up and stopped being the Steward and became a true Kazekage. You have all the honor, courage, will, and intellect to do the job, even now you are gaining much needed wisdom as you constantly reflect on your every deed. Let me clear the air for both of us. As your older brother it is my honor and privilege to inform you that I AM A MONSTER, always have been. You on the other hand are being forced to become something else. You are not, never were, and never can truly become A MONSTER, you can come close however. Now you wondered if our mother was concerned or proud of what I have become. They are both proud and as parents always worried. Also your parents could never be disappointed in you. They brought you into this world so that you might be more than they and in that you have always succeeded. You can not force anyone to take responsibility for others. They have to want to somewhere inside them and Katsuo only wanted to be himself. Never THE ONE... and for the sake of all that is sacred YOU of all people will NEVER sit on the floor or steps beneath me."
Kuro would get up from the throne of bone and sit beside his baby brother. " Let me tell you of the lines I have crossed and would do so again and again without fail for those I love and cherish...
First I killed a demon hunter for his sharingan, then I killed an assassin for the power of his songs, I slew an ogre magi for his strength, I even had to kill a cousin because he broke clan laws and sacrificed the innocent for power. I did these things with little to no regret because I knew it was right to do so. There are only one or two other ways that things could have turned out.
The same goes for you, you took it upon yourself to correct a horrible situation and in your courage and heart did the right thing.
I have knowingly had to send courageous men and women with families and children to their deaths and watch as they died simply to keep a fragile peace that I know now was false all along.
Knowing what I do now I regret each and every death but I can look back and know that there was no other way things could have gone.
It was not however destiny, it was the paths of life and death mixed in with the scheming of a mastermind like the Daimyo manipulating events to see how we would cope or crumble. Since we have never truly crumbled we have forced him to actually commit his forces to terrorist attacks.
There are few things that can be gained without sacrifice...
I was born with but half a human soul, I am the actual reincarnation of a lost king myself and I even have some of his memories and all of his instincts... Yet even today I know I would give up all that I am just to bring back my first love for even a moment.
I gave up half of my half of humanity just to maintain peace for us all. These are the lines that I cross little brother, life is only occasionally a fairy tale, and we both know everyone does not get to be happy only the chosen do and the cycle continues on and on with the responsible giving up their happiness so that those they care about can be happy.' I actually have a story I would like to tell you that might shed a great deal of light upon the things that are happening to you now and why they happened... would you like to have story time like we used to do when we were children?"
Sousuke would say nothing but listen to Kuro. He would speak of how it was he who was the monster. It was a notion that did not sit well with Sousuke. Kuro had a big heart. Bigger than most, and sometimes it got him into trouble. He did make alliances with some questionable individuals, but Sousuke knew that in his heart the decisions Kuro was making was for what he thought was the best for Sand. Sousuke knew that he was biased of course because he had some element in Tsume in him, but the Takahashi Household always were allies with the Toraono. He would think about those that Kuro had slew. The Demon Hunter - well he or she could have been hunting Kuro. Maybe self defense. The same for the assassin. The ogre magi? Well. Sousuke had heard of people being described as ogres. That was usually a derognitive term used for people of mainly brawn and no brain. The concept of a Magi Ogre was ... certainly different. So was an Ogre Magi, half brute and half smart? Either way, Kuro slew him for his strength - and for Kuro to want strength was a concerning notion. Sousuke always thought of Kuro to be truly strong. "Kuro I never asked for you to be the monster. I've ... I've somewhat adopted your stance in a way. I have consistently worked to keep Katuso's reputation in the light. Several people did not like his stance on allowing the Cabal to live. I know Nobu didn't as he very much wanted Kaito to drawn and quartered. Kaito killed people, and the survivors cannot ... out of grief mind you or anger or what have you ... forgive him for what he did. That is the problem in all of this. Some cannot put aside some of their basest emotions. Even I find it difficult to do so at times."<i></i> He explained, he would look down at the floor now. He frowned. I gave up Yume. I knew that down the line she would become a target for others to get at me."<i></i> He explained. There was a moment in time where Kuro did anger him when he said to be wary of her because of her relationship to Urufuu. Sousuke knew that at the time he was thinking with his heart instead of using his intellect.
"Indeed. Life is not a fairy tale Kuro. Not all of us deserve a happy ending."<i></i> He would pause for a moment. "Either way, do tell me of that story you are wishing to tell me about."<i></i>Kuro was if anything very good about telling stories. Most of them had a moral lesson to them. He would continue to drink the miso soup as he awaited Kuro to begin telling the story.
Kuro had always enjoyed sharing stories with Sousuke and as he did so children from other families and some of the slave children now washed and fed came and sat down in the warm chamber where the sunlight was not so harsh. With a flare for dramatics Kuro used his telekinesis to animate some figurines and had them go through the motions of his story as he created sand castles and chambers for all to witness what occurred. The figurines were not anatomically correct so nothing that young children could not witness occurred not that Kuro would even if younglings were not present.
His song form Chouryoku Kuro came and sat in the far corner of the chamber strumming a bassinet. He song a soft tune to show it was truly the beginning of an EPIC and possibly heartbreaking tale.
A model of a steel armored soldier wearing a Takahashi crest, a woman wearing the robes of a priestess, and a black king with a mighty spear were the first figurines to stir. Another large beastman figure and two well clothed gentlemen figures along with a princess figurine completed the first set of individuals for what would be the first act. Kuro began to weave his theatrical yet grudgingly true tale...
"We will first begin with the Tale of a Lost Heart..."
(Song Kuro would strum the bassinet in a slow building tune without words as Kuro spoke, summoned musical spirits would slowly rise but the children would never know what they were as they stayed to the rear of the room playing drums, a horn, and a violin)

There was once a city where the spires of its seven towers touched the sky. It was home to the high courts of the Ancients and ruled by a mighty elemental master by the name of Fuujin. When he was laid low in battle with the One King his sky cities fell to the earth and with them many Ancients were dispersed but the fabled city of Babylos was forged by Earth, Wind, and Fire and as such it was still connected to the earth and thus did not fall although many of its enchantments did fade. The Black King whom lived within its labyrinths left his chambers and began to parley with the Master Forgers of the First Men, The Takahashi. ((The Black Figurine moved into the open as a small chamber with a vast table emerged from the wisps of sand. The Queen of Earth Ancients whom would come to be known as Mother Suna went to the remaining High Lord of the First Men as many had given their lives in battle. She pledged a part of herself and her power over the desert to the Highlord and he was given the title Sunahoshi. She had pledged her people and herself no part in the war between man and ancient but the men and women whom had been slaves had hearts of heavy stone, many were set with rage at having been slaves for so long. The Earth Court and Deep Court were close due to their time beneath the earth but their manners were very different. The Earth Court had kept slaves but they were treated far better than those of the Flame or Solar Court. Although a select few did battle in the Arena of Homura for the Earth Court slaves they went by choice. The Deep Court kept no slaves and rarely if ever interacted with man, when they did it was only to strike a bargain in trade and just as quickly they were gone. Despite this all Ancients of all kind were massacred over the next few centuries. All Courts were laid low and their once magnificent realms sacked and shattered. A select few Ancients were hidden by the very humans they had once enslaved and as time passed they begot children of Ancient and Human blood. This was not taboo but it was an extremely rare occurrence. Babylos was sunken beneath the earth to keep its treasures and powers from the hands of marauders and men. The Black King was placed inside of a sword to serve as a lesson to all whom had thought themselves better than men. Ancients don’t die as humans do so their essence returned to nature itself to await rebirth. However, through a twisted curse upon the flame and solar courts by a forgotten sage of great power.
((A massive figurine made up of sand and burnt resin arose and moved its hands about before dissipating to the children’s amazement))
His curse would ensure that the ancients that had left their mortal forms would never regain their full power or presence as elements alone and with his actions the remaining Ancients would slowly lose their powers and face death on the same terms as mankind. None knew whom this sage was or where he had come from but it was known that IT was not a man or an Ancient. Years would pass as men grew stronger and founded their own lands. The Black king slept a sleep of madness inside of a blade forgotten to all but a select few. The village of Sunagakure would emerge from the desert under the guidance of the Sunahoshi and their stalwart allies the Takahashi clan. The remnants of the gladiator families that once lived under the yoke of Homura would come together as the Toraono Clan. These were the days of the first families where a ranger’s capture and subsequent revelations would grant a Priest of Jashin access to treasure troves of power and cause the loss of all the Sunahoshi as he used his influence and power from his dark god to create not only an empire but conspire to destroy the only people of any potential to thwart his plans.
Figurines acted out the events as he told them and some did things that only Sousuke with his advanced attentive state would take note of. This was the part of the story meant for Sousuke as the figurines that Kuro melded from the earth and sands took on the features of his Aunt and Uncle as Song Kuro spoke to Sousuke alone as he strummed his bassinet telling a side story while Kuro entertained the children.
--These figurines acted out a little girl stumbling forth from the Chaumeraus Caverns, starved and broken being taken in by a Takahashi Lord and his wife. The child was not normal and in its fits of power the soul of the Lord was taken and absorbed. His will and body would remain intact but he was truly soul less and for lack of a better word undead. The wife would raise the child while the lord went on about his daily regiment never straying too far from the child. Teaching her, protecting her, raising her as his own despite the calamity of his circumstances. Soon too the wife of the Lord took ill and rather than lose her to disease the child did what it had done to the lord taking the soul and leaving an unnaturally pristine and healthy body in her wake. The family soon began to prosper as the girl grew older. The young princess became a beautiful woman. Sousuke would recognize the woman as Shiori. She would watch Sousuke from afar, her poses genuinely human, her movements human. She even ate and slept as a human and she would watch Sousuke with longing.
A familiar heart wrenching song would play that would only reach Sousuke’s ears as Song Kuro explained what was going on… Turn down the lights
Turn down the bed
Turn down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me
Tell me no lies
Just hold me close, don't patronize
Don't patronize me
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't
I'll close my eyes, then I won't see
The love you don't feel when you're holding me
Morning will come and I'll do what's right
Just give me till then to give up this fight
And I will give up this fight
'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't
And as the song ended Song Kuro sent a whisper like throwing a voice to tell Sousuke what was the obvious... Haohaoya-Suna had been in LOVE with YOU...
The side story soon melded back into the main story ~

The music kicked up as the figurines moved as if they were alive fighting and dueling, training, and creating items together.
A young steel lord took up a fantastic weapon and with his earnest will unleashed the Black King of old. He would learn and train anew under the Black King but as he mastered the skills he was shown he experimented and without warning or intent took power from the Black King just as his ancestor had. This enraged the Black King and despite their truce with one another he began to plot their eventual battle with oneanother. It was then that the usurper of all things finally made his presence known to the wayward Sunans. He sent a monstrous sword wielding dark god blessed warrior to contest Suna. Valiantly the young steel lord fought only to find out too late that the dark master had the protection of a dark god named Jashin. The Black King came to the Steel Lord’s aid despite his anger with the young lord. He would not break his oath. So came that the Black King recognized the young woman and his rage grew ever more as he realized SHE had been free and had never taken it upon herself to even find out what had become of him. While he was questioning her after finding her held captive the steel lord desperate to save her found the Black King in a compromising position. He believed the scene to be what it seemed. Utter Betrayal, so tragedy would strike a third time as the steel lord invoked the curse of the dark blade and wounded the Black King so deeply that his hate came to life. The steel lord believed his kinswoman was being harmed by the Black King but he had erred. The Black King had indeed bound her but he had saved her first.
The woman saw what the steel lord did to the Black King and it broke her heart. Her love had gone unrequited for so long only to see that the one she had loved was the destroyer of her kind. Heavy with woe she later confessed herself to the man she loved only to be attacked as rage filled his heart at her prior deeds. In his righteousness he slew her human form and released the power that had been starving within her. Turning into sand of crimson and gold the remnants of Suna fled the underground city, never to be seen again. The Black King began to plot his revenge all the while a beastman sought to undo the damage that had been done. He would try to reach out to the Black King only to be turned away or misled. Too much had been said, too little had been understood and FAR FAR too much had been done.
Now with this tale there are many things of note children, but those morals will be explained to you at another time. Right now it is time for cake and ice cream in the main foyer. The students here will lead the children whom don’t know their way around.
At that the children removed themselves from the chamber cheerfully as they sought out the ice cream and cake that Kuro had asked to be prepared to help soothe the minds of the escaped slaves.
Akuma Kuro turned to Sousuke after they had all left as a tear fell from his left eye as Chouryouku Kuro dismissed his spirit aides and went to watchover the children.
“It has taken me quite some time and a lot of exhausting investigation and confirmation of facts but I have figured out how most of the tragedies have occurred due to misunderstandings between our own. I will remain true to you always but I will tell you that I am pressuring the last Ancients for peace. If we exterminate them something far worse will be unleashed. Of this I am certain.”
Sousuke knew what Kuro was getting at. It was not correct though. Mikaboshi was deemed to be a threat by the Sunahoshi. They played at him and played at him. Ultimately he was sealed in a sword, but not until they took away from him his friend. It was quite possible that Sousuke realized now that his friend was too much of a threat too to be left to lurk and haunt the landscapes. He did not agree with the first Kazekage's decision but nothing could be done about it. It was in the past. As Kuro would contunue the story, his birth would come into focus, and for a lack of a better term he was described as a zombie or undead due to a lack of soul. No. In fact he was not describing him... he was actually describing Shiori? Yes. He would see her features. Shiori was and always would be a bit older than him. He would watch as the figurine would watch and gaze longing unto a figurine that was Sousuke.
The story would shift to the tale of the confrontation with Shouki, and the reason why things were as they were. Sousuke's hands would curl into fists. Sousuke was silent and kept it that way. Kuro's story which was edited and edited quite heavily would come to an end. The song nor the story itself had an emotional connection with Sousuke. He took it in, listened to it, and felt nothing really. While Sousuke was capable of showing great emotion in limited and small amounts of times, for the most part he was a cold and calculating machine. He remained cool and calm for the most part. Sungakure needed someone who would focus on a singular concept: survive. Sungakure did survive in the wake of the Djinn, in the wake of Magentica, and in the wake of the Cabal. It would continue to survive and continue on. Sungakure faced two problems currently in order to continue surviving: the first was the Daimyo and his Soverign academy. The second was the return of the Ancients. To battle both of them Sousuke had attempted to re-craft a modern version of Shoki. While he would not ever be capable of true eradication the weapon could indeed heavily injure an Ancient.
The children would ultimately leave, that would be for the best. "If Ancients did not exist then the Daimyo would not have a source to power the Ancients."<i></i> He would state at first. The Daimyo would have to draw upon different sources for powers. He wondered though what could be worse than a primarily elemental force. Sousuke could not really consider anything worse than an Ancient. Mankind? Yes. Mikaboshi was told to stop. Forceful? Yes, but it was the first time he had ever been told to forcefully stop. He never did understand why Suna/Shiori was so ... distressed by it. She was being killed, perhaps he should have just allowed Mikaboshi to finish his task no matter how diabolical or hurtful it was. The death of Suna would have been dealt with quietly. That was enough. At least Sunagakure would not have to deal with the concept of the patron goddess being a farce. Sousuke doubted Suna would ever understand that. It was expected of Sousuke to act in particular ways. Why could she not do so? Sousuke had always done what others had expected of him for good and for ill. It did not really matter in the end as Suna was an Ancient after all and in some context the root of all evil. It always made him wonder why she empowered man at all. He understood it was a means to keep the Sunahoshi from doing what they originally did best. "If we are to have peace, then usually war comes first. I doubt either of them will ever sue for peace even if Soragakure were defeated."<i></i> There would be plenty of dead Ancients stemming from that. Perhaps if they were lucky both the Ancients and Soragakure itself would merely become a large black spot upon and nothing more. Yet, something in Sousuke's mind disapproved of that. Did he really want to see Soragakure destroyed? All of those innocent lives? Yes and no. Yes because it meant there would be no furture problems coming down the lines, but equally no because those people were trapped with the Daimyo to begin with. Even Susumu could not stand up to his father, and he was the crown prince.
The mechanical viewpoint of Sousuke was oftentimes compromised by the Tsume's and some of his very little emotional standpoint. "Suna resurrected Fuujin and Homura. They're out there somewhere in the wilderness. Rebuilding and taking their time. Eventually I will have to put an end to them at a heavy cost."<i></i> His fists tightened and remained curled. "I'm getting very tired of these ... surprises in my life Kuro. An Ancient pretends to be my cousin who I've known for most of my life. Another cousin turns out to the last Sunahoshi who ... has become Mikaboshi."<i></i> He hesitated, could anything ever be simple? No. Not really. Never. "Your story isn't entirely correct either if you're trying to go about it as a piece of non-fiction."<i></i>
Kuro would smile again as Sousuke brought up the facts and the points he needed to see Kuro was happy that Sousuke had not become Tsume merely he felt through Tsume what emotions he could reach like a filter. "It is good you are still who you are as I was worried that your soul was leaving you open to full emotions that you are unprepared to handle. What I presented to you were the facts as I have gathered them. The holes in the story is because I do not have your viewpoint. I also have something else to point out, I was not there when Mikaboshi fought with you, nor was I there when you fought with HaohaoyaSuna. This information I present you are from Suna's memories which I touched upon when I reached out to find her. She lives and there is another thing a point of order that your eyes have lost a bit of their capacity which is also Tsume's fault. You can no longer view souls without assistance. I will teach you how to see souls again, although interacting with them as a medium will be something I have yet to accomplish. The way you feel emotions is through the bonded soul. You can agree or disagree with me on this but that is my theory at this moment as I can see him in you now and then. What I am bringing to the forefront is that Mikaboshi is experiencing true emotions through Katsuo, as much as Mikaboshi swears he destroyed his very essence I am a true master of possession and I can tell you his possession is only 98% complete at best. Katsuo exists within him somehow, he may not exist in mind but his spirit and body are there. I don't know yet how to bring him to the forefront and although I have studied and conversed with Mikaboshi at odds and ends your bond and knowledge of him exceeds most of mine. His is a battle that must be fought at a later hour. I only just figured out what became of your Aunt and Uncle as it takes a great amount of time and energy to sort through the murk of memories unless you are seeking a single answer or vision in battle. Your concepts are reality but because of your spirit you are not capable of true empathy. That is where I come in brother.((Kuro did not call him little brother much any more Sousuke had experienced and grown through far too much for that.)) There are things more terrible than demons, more everlasting than ancients, and more unyielding than time hidden in the deep desert, Creations of the Ancients that were so dangerous they were sealed away.((Kuro did not dare mention that he was also studying the primal forces that came before the Ancients as well. The roads into the depths were deep and even Kuro could only tread so far before his powers failed him.)) If we do not deal with the Daimyo now we will possibly be facing enemies on 3 fronts. I am will broker peace for Suna as long as I exist but I fear that all will face horrors the likes of Djinn again. I will never again have the power I wielded when I faced that monster. Just touching his mad unbridled power nearly shattered my mind and soul were I not already capable of channeling energy so well my bodies would have burnt to ash. Now imagine that the Daimyo through Jashin has the same power but in a more controlled manner. This is what my research tells me we are dealing with."<i></i>
Sousuke was not sure how to answer Kuro at first. Tsume was for all intents and purposes his soul. Soul armour? Perhaps. This was grounded in the realm of mysticism which Sousuke hated and despised entirely. The concept of a soul was something he did not put much thought into, he considered it the spiritual representation of that person and upon death that aspect would then ascend into paradise or to eternal torment. Considering that Mother Suna was not a religious figure at all. Sousuke was a man of faith, if pressed upon it he would have stated a higher power made the world, and perhaps they would meet that higher power in the paradise beyond death. That higher power was considered to be Mother Suna. "It's not Tsume's fault I am ... less spectrally aware now."<i></i> How Kuro could blame Tsume for this did not make sense. Tsume was for the most part dead. You could not really blame a corpse for such a thing.
What Kuro did say about Mikaboshi was true, that he too was showing emotions which was a very different thing. Sousuke was on the receiving end of being that he was thrown out of a building. Mikaboshi had went on to say he was unworthy. It was something that haunted Sousuke, for it was indeed the truth of many things. He was indeed very much unworthy of the people that surrounded him. Sousuke's shoulder slumped as he thought about it more and more. It was a matter that would come up in a more private setting when it was just him by himself. "I'm not worthy of even being your brother, if it was little brother."<i></i> He would finally say after a few moments of silence. If Katuso did exist, there was very little proof of such, at least from what Sousuke had encountered with Mikaboshi of late.
Sousuke's head would rise at the mention of creations of the Ancients. "I find that hard to beleive, but most people fear what they create in times. The Ancients created Primus, and still fear his weaponry - should it ever truly return."<i></i> He would add. Sousuke would continue to listen to Kuro. He would give Kuro a very hard look. "You would broker a peace with an entity that I used to pray to and ask help of, which in truth is nothing comparable to what our history and religion speaks of."<i></i> The expression that tried to form on Sousuke's face was one of confusion and ... anger? Confusion as why peace? Why peace with an entity that did not understand what she had done would lead to the destruction of humanity. Homura and Fuujin would destroy everything and return men and women to their chains. Surely, surely Kuro was aware of this? "Kuro, I am grateful for your sacrifices ... but you are aware of what her endgame is yes?"<i></i>
Kuro sat close to make sure the surveillance systems of the dojo did not record too much of their conversation. "Sousuke, my Kazekage, you have always been MORE than worthy of being my brother little or otherwise, soul forged or otherwise. I will always love and treasure you. Now as far as what Mother Suna is after, she wants a reckoning, not so antagonisitic a one as Mikaboshi but a reckoning nonetheless. She is scorned and as a woman scorned Ancient, human, or otherwise she aims to cause you and by extension Sunagakure pain. She wants you to feel how she felt, she wants you to want her as she wanted you. SHE is a lonely, angry woman, and if my mother is any measure of what a woman's vengeance is like hide your kids, hide your wife, hide your treasures because she is coming to destroy everything up in here. Your Aunt and Uncle were soul chained by her, if I could find a way to release them from her, free their souls and return them to the Takahashi clan as a whole would you be willing to speak with her on neutral ground? I imagine one of the simplest methods to curb her rage is to simply tell her what is wrong and build a dialogue. It is always harder to be enemies when you have established common ground. My worry is that their feud with us will not allow us time needed to defeat the Daimyo. He has turned everything against us, I have gained a few terribly efficient allies but one and all I can only keep working on ways to keep the closest enemies within while we deal with the deadliest outright enemies that consistently breach our doors."<i></i>
Sousuke's mood would sour. He would stand up straight, and in that moment Kuro would behold something strange from his much smaller brother. Sousuke's eyes would narrow it would seem his course could not change. Sousuke was a wiry little man compared to Kuro. His fists were curled up. "Kuro. It's ... do the numbers. It's more than just my uncle and aunt. She was fed multiple hundreds possibly thousands of souls. Count the number of those who will never reach their proper final resting place for the soul."<i></i> He would answer his sennin."If it was your mother who was denied a place in the afterlife - you too would be affected by this. I don't know to what degree of course but considering it is the woman who gave birth to you and raised her."<i></i> He would make a motion to their surroundings. They would face ruin eventually, and Sousuke would die kicking and screaming to prevent that. He was not ultra strong like Kuro. He did not have a mastery of the mystic arts. No. He hated them. He used technology. He invented things. He twisted metal into impossible shapes. He turned rocks and metals from beneath the earth into weapons and suits of armour.
Kuro spoke of some new allies he acquired. To that Sousuke would inquire "Who? Roku really didn't think well of Miroku clan considering what he had heard."<i></i> Akkuma inflicted some strange injuries upon people, and there were a series of events that concerned him. "I loved Shiori as a sister figure. Shouki took advantage of that and took her from me. Would I like to have Shiori back as she was? Yes I would want that. I want a family and she was a member of that family - but that of course is an impossibility. We have to deal with her in absolutes Kuro. If there is a one percent chance she will destroy us all and consume us all, we have to take that an absolute and we need to destroy her. She is far too much of a wild card."<i></i> For a moment Sousuke would grow silent. He looked to the floor. "I gave up Yume. Aside from your disapproval of her, there was the fact Suna or Shouki would go after her next. I buried that relationship. I cannot have relationships Kuro."<i></i> He explained. His fists curled tighter. "We get the world we deserve Kuro no matter how much good or evil we do. It unfolds accordingly. If it means that I have to go into the center of the desert to destroy her entirely and fully at the cost of my life. Then so be it. She will never ever understand my actions when I tried to save her. She will never see it differently. She is gathering power and I'm getting older Kuro. I have a limited time on this Earth. I don't get the ability to merely grow old without consequence to my structural integrity."<i></i>
OOC: CAPS are for emphasis on exclamations will indicate yelling on my character's part in speech usage
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBjQ9tuuTJQ - Theme Song sung by Song Kuro in a nearby room to entertain the children, teens, and freed slaves while their injuries are tended. It held another meaning for Kuro and his circumstances with Sousuke...
Kuro sighed as he knew his baby brother believed only in absolutes and never compromises. That was why Kuro was the barrier that protected Sousuke, not just because of blood, or souls, but because Kuro knew that deep down Sousuke was always true to himself. "I know what you speak of brother, the actual count is 3,141 to date and many of those souls were taken when she was a child and not of actual control of herself, not that her control or lack there of is an excuse. Ancients do require sustenance just as we do, for the strongest they may require souls to repair themselves. I have found a way to circumvent that incessant hunger. Now as to my Mother being slain, yes I would want revenge but If she was able to defeat my mother then their would be little hope for anyone else in this world. Are those consumed denied the afterlife? I will let you know when I find out. I do know that when I reap a soul unless I store it in some kind of vessel or curse it in some manner they all move on."</COLOR><i></i>
Kuro would reach out a grizzled hand to his brother's shoulder in grim comforting reliability... "The Miroku clan are not my only allies. You have spent time with and found a friend in Senju Kazuki and as I made him a brother as well his clan is tied to mine and they were my first recruited fraternity in this war against the Daimyo. I will give you a written detailed accounting of alliances forged so you can have facts and numbers for battle assessments. Now as far as Roku goes he doesn't even trust ME yet, but I can work on our bonding at a later date."<i></i> Kuro would release his grip and walk slowly in a straight line pivoting to turn back around in 4 steps always keeping eye contact with Sousuke as he spoke. Kuro moved deliberately in a slow pace to ease the muscles of his body from being seated.
"I am going to show you how to do what you BELIEVE is the impossible. I will bring back the Shiori you knew. I will find a way to free Katsuo and get Mikaboshi to see reason. I understand your reasons for giving up Yume, and I did not disapprove of your relationship with her, she was good for you. What I disapproved of... was her belief that I would not honor a dueling arrangement with her Uncle and that she would attack me despite my honor-bound word. I am much like an Ancient in that matter I cannot break an oath."<i></i>
A blade of power would temporarily manifest within Kuro's grasp as he paced when he thought of his next subject. "Shouki...</GLOW><i></i> <GLOW glow="red">(his name was spoken as if it were venom upon Kuro's tongue) will be dealt with soon enough and when his final moments come I will call you to witness them."
"YOU CAN HAVE RELATIONSHIPS SOUSUKE, YOU MUST... it is the only way for you to grow beyond your emotional limitations. As far as the limits of time are concerned you may never believe me but you can live as long as you will it. I assure you there is an understandable scientific process to cellular renewal that is strong enough to extend your longevity. I can even remove the consequences of age from your structural integrity. What I can't undo is the psychic pain, and wounds of the mind, I cannot repair your soul without your help. I cannot do what you will not help me do for you. I cannot save you from yourself but I can change what is occurring now. There is a mastermind out there whom has been plotting our destruction for nearly a century. Not even Mikaboshi has done as much damage as this... man. His mechanizations and actions are clear, ruthless, efficient, he cuts us deep because we allow it and we don't change or at least not enough to slow him down or stop him. I GIVE YOU MY SOLEMN OATH as both your brother and as your sennin. I WILL CHANGE YOUR FATE whether you like it or not. YOU DO NOT GET TO GO OUT AND DIE IN SACRIFICE that is my privilege and MY DUTY alone. Hell, even the hybrid servant of Mikaboshi noted that, which means I am truly obvious. YOU DON'T GET THE WORLD YOU DESERVE SOUSUKE, YOU GET THE WORLD YOU EARN and the one others have sacrificed themselves to leave to you. If I must I will break the temporal limits upon your living frame to make sure you understand that you are treasured, beloved and both Takahashi and Toraono. Mother would expect nothing less of me and worse you still need to teach my daughter how to create machinery. Even I cannot do that without tutors, doctors, scientists, and engineers to guide me."<i></i> Kuro would stand up and hug his little brother placing his head in a manner that would not allow his horns to damage his baby brother. <COLOR color="indigo">"You are not allowed to die Sousuke-san, I FORBID IT..." Kuro would release Sousuke from his hug after proclaiming his oath of defiance of all the things Sousuke believed were unchangeable. Kuro knew different, he knew there was at least a 10% chance that he could prevent any further conflicts between the ancients and humanity even if he had to sacrifice himself as both a wall between them and a bridge for communication. His only regret was that his daughter Reikiko was going to be upset with what he was going to do but Peace and stability always required that monsters go away. Kuro knew one thing for certain he was and always would be a monster.
Things did not improve. Sousuke's concerns did not diminish. At the very least Kuro got it. He would not be able to present Sousuke with any particular answer as to where the soul went in the afterlife. "I used to think ... we would be taken in by Mother Suna's love and ... given proper rest. Given the truth now? I used to think that ... some of my victories were because she willed it, or gave me the inspiration I needed to reach a decisive victory... but no."</B><i></i> He sat there and his memories played. It was a memory when ... when he was looking for her after the Cabal attack. He had found her, and at the time he had thought she had went a little ... loopy. She had told him that the empowerment of the Sunahoshi was to limit them ... from training their natural skills. Primus was a fighter truly, and the use of the diamond sands? That was mystical and in the realm of sorcery. They were not honing their natural skill now. He rubbed his temples. He belived in a farce, and he thanked her for the food he consumed, and to watch over him and make sure he did the right thing. Takahashi Sousuke was a man of a shattered faith in everything that his life had told him to be. There was a very good reason he didn't see a doctor of mental health. There were some things that was best left to one's mind rather than destroy the belief structure of a nation.
Kuro would then proceed to denounce everything he had brought up. Kuro was of the thought pattern that one got the world they earned. Seemingly he had struck a nerve. Kuro said something what Shiori had said one time. "She said that too. Shiori ... or Suna that is."<i></i> He would say, and in that he would grow ... fearful. What was it that occur in time to turn Kuro from friend to foe? He didn't realize it but somewhere in all of this, Kuro was hugging him. "You might be crushing my ribs ... slightly."<i></i> He would comment. Kuro was always a very strong person. Now would be a very good time to change the topic, that would be the hard part of course. Before doing so Sousuke would again state the one thing he wanted Kuro to understand the most. "Kuro. I'll say it again. I don't want you to make any sacrifices on my part." Sousuke would raise his hands slightly. <B>"How do you do it? I mean have a relationship and maintain everything. Suzu has been targeted before, but yet things ... still remain? Not without injury, entirely, but you've made it work."<i></i>
Kuro grinned "Part of being a monster means I get to cheat the system. If I am careful and maintain a fully immersed situational awareness I can be in 12 places at once. Suzuhime gave up alot of herself and she even decided that she would not stay around when I had to go on the warpath. So she is actually going between safehouses , her family has a few, the nomads have a few, and of course I have many. She even writes me from time to time. We are good at distance relationships and last but not least she has faith that no matter what I will always return to her and because of that I can go into battle and go beyond even my exaggerated potential. As far as not making sacrifices on your behalf, you are much too late to make that edict, but I appreciate your words, watching siblings grow beyond you is almost as satisfying as raising a child. You have not met my daughter yet but she is everything I could have hoped for her to be and she looks more like her mother than me... I will have to introduce her to her uncle soon." Kuro felt lightheaded for a moment before sitting down again. His multiple chakras were flaring in response to something voltaic, a leyline long thought diminished had thrummed vibrantly with life again. Odd but not something to worry about, more life was a good thing, or was it?
Sousuke did not know that Suzuhime was being moved from place to place. It made sense. That way she should not found out easily and then used as a hostage against Kuro. It was alot of work, but it was not a life he did not think Yume would want. Some people were fine with this some others not. It worked for Kuro, which was how he was able to keep his relationship going. Still, to Sousuke he did not think it was ... for the best. Kuro did what he did to protect his family. "Suzuhime drifts from place to place, but your daughter here remains in service to Sand. Suzuhime is okay with that? Reikiko... if the name serves correctly. I've never met her, personally that is... and... I can't say that I know whether or not she is an adopted child of yours, or if she is Suzuhime's child."<i></i> It was entirely possible that this child was a child of Suzuhime. Enough time had passed, but also ... Kuro's family aged fairly quickly. Sousuke would merely have to wait and find out. Kuro also ... well, he did say that she was the child of her mother ... but Kaibudo was a figure of mystery and myth. He knew that Kuro's father and his father were ... men that could force great change. The two of them and Harupai's father were once upon a time known as the Suna Titans and operated as a force for good dealing with country side threats that most could not.
Sousuke was left scratching his head as well, for a moment he would turn a shade of pink. "I have a son too, but you have not met him, which is something that should have been fixed by now. He is not of my doing ... which is something different. When Okibi left us during the Cabal crisis she left Aki all alone, and did not want to be his mother. He was not a child of her own ... choice. "<i></i> Kuro would be able to put two and two together. He knew what Sousuke was getting at, more so he knew the hole that Okibi left in her leave. Sousuke was never quite the same since that. His relationship with Yume had fixed that to some degree, but it worsened even as she too in time had left. One would think things had gotten better for Sousuke, but really they did not. This was perhaps one of the few times he got to talk things out, but even then ... there were some things that he suspected Kuro would not comprehend in the fullest of meanings.
He observed something in Kuro. He watched him and something was off. "Everything all right there? Your biology is a very unique one... but even then I like to think I can see when things are off."<i></i> He would ask Kuro as he walked up the stairs to stand at his side as he sat upon his throne.
Kuro would stagger before his horns and tail dissipated leaving only his tiger stripes, his breathing would grow shallow as his power seemed to fade, his dark energies seemed to have left him. Kuro had just been relating how Reikiko was the daughter of his first wife a temple maiden whom Kuro had met during the end of his service as an ANBU Captain when a chakra malaise struck him full force. Kuro raised his right fist and invoked a massive barrier to protect the leylines running throughout the dojo in order to keep them from being affected by whatever had just shattered his sealed chakra system. Kuro gave Sousuke a quick look over having his hunter form Mouko Kuro check Sousuke’s body over and was glad to see he was unaffected. Relieved Akuma Kuro stood, his muscle structure was fine, his body was actually lighter but his seals, and their hoarded dark chakra were shattered and completely removed from all of his avatars. Taking a deep breath Kuro found his demon form was still intact as well it simply no longer exuded itself. It seemed Kuro had lost a portion of his darkness and gained more humanity to balance with the energies of the Ancients within him as well. Kuro’s tail returned but his horns would take a while to grow back since they were where he had stored his excess dark chakra, as his chakra re-stabilized his chakra influenced tiger stripes began to return but that would take a few days as well. “It seems there has been a great disturbance in the chakra balance of the world and dark chakra has been greatly diminished because from what I can sense all the cursed seals in Sunagakure have been eradicated… and people immersed in dark chakra have been reset. It is refreshing in its own way. The dark chakra reserves of the dojo are intact so we are okay. I will check the soul forge in a moment after I finish a self-diagnostic, would you care to come with me?”
Sousuke would notice that Kuro's hunter form had a reinforced bio enhanced prosthetic leg as a reminder of Barynx's wrath to replace the one Barnyx devoured,
Sousuke would observe the changes Kuro underwent, he seemed to lose several of his 'demonic' features. He did not expect the tail to disappear though, that being said Kuro still maintained his stripes which was something a little odd thing to maintain. Whatever was attacking Kuro did not go unchallenged. He raised a fist and caused a barrier to erupt. Kuro exchanged glances with him, and then he exchanged glances with one of his other bodies. Within moments his tail would return, and his horns seemingly would ... not re-grow but show a sign of returning within time Sousuke would wager. "Well, it would seem that your powers diminished, but are now in a position to ... regenerate."<i></i> Sousuke would state as he looked over Kuro from head to toe. Did Kuro suffer a long range attack at the hands of a member of the Soverign? While they were documented, there was always a new form of power to be had.
Kuro would begin to detail what had happened to the dark chakara ever present. Sousuke very much wanted to say 'I told you so' when it came to making use of cursed seals. There was a price to be paid but now was not the time to pointing out 'I told you so'. If Kuro was being effected here, it was most probable than several others were being affected by this too. Naoki, considering she had received a cursed seal, was one of those who may have been affected by this. "Wait you said reset. If it diminished, how is it a reset? Are those of a dark chakra skillset at ... a lack of it then?"<i></i> He would inquire. The answer would come shortly. "Yes, let's go have you looked at. Can't have my older brother ... being sickly. As much as you look after me, I have to look after you."<i></i> He would next hike his thumb at the prosethic leg. "That leg working out fine? I made a hand for Roku, and he's either lost it or chooses not to use it."<i></i>
Akuma Kuro and Mouko Kuro would head to an elevator hidden behind the throne of bone which went directly to Doctor Daibatsu's private laboratory where the devices used to maintain Kuro's multiple forms between injuries were kept. Diagrams for the reinforced bio prosthetic limb were hanging on a drawing board while the master samurai turned physician grabbed both Kuro's by the arm and sat them on examining tables. With a practiced eye Dr. Daibatsu checked over Mouko Kuro and then began an indepth diagnostic of his new prosthetic enhancement while Akuma Kuro pulled over a viewer and examined himself. "Looks like I will be okay but all of my cursed seals have been shattered. There was a shockwave of massive spiritual chakra, it seems like either an ancient leyline has come back into alignment or a massive being has been born. Either way for all my chakras to be reset is a blessing. It means I don't have to remove my seals to do it myself. With my eyes I can see that all cursed seals for miles around have either been shattered or altered completely, Dark chakra has been all but removed from everywhere it was not dimensionally or genetically stored, so in essence my demon side has gotten 13% weaker and now none of my avatars have a demonic transformation. Again it is disconcerting but everyone is under this duress then we are still on even ground."<i></i>
Mouko Kuro placed his leg upon the soulforge where he and Dr. Daibatsu organized the remnants of his shattered seals into more effective components... After pulsing his remaining dark chakra into the bio mechanical limb Dr. Daibatsu sealed his reinforced defensive jutsu into the limb with specialized triggers for combat activation. With a grin Mouko Kuro stood up and began practicing tora no ken with his reinforced limb, it was a magnificent showing as the kicks flowed just as fast or faster than his normal palm strikes. He had become just a little more dangerous despite the loss of his original leg to Barnyx.

Sousuke would look up to Kuro, he chose a ... different word for the inability to use his cursed seals. "Why shatter? Why would the seal be shattered? It's not like the seal is a solid glass object and breaks into peices."<i></i> Sousuke had questioned. This was something of an unprecedented event. It was not cataclysmic in nature. Problematic yes. Kuro relayed the fact that he seemed to suffered a power loss, Sousuke on the other hand saw it as a boon. If his bodies were no longer considered demonic or had the ability to transform... then those bodies would not be actively weakened by a particular demon hunter ability.
Kuro would then place the mechanical leg Sousuke had constructed on the soul forge. He watched as Dr. Daibatsu worked on it. There was some mechanical work to be done, and within a few moments Kuro was back in action. He was kicking at the air showing that he was no less quicker than before. "No problem with the leg I see. Everything is working well enough."<i></i> Sousuke observed. Sousuke would come to a realization then, if all cursed seals were having functionality problems then Kazuki and his family would be at a fault as well. Kazuki was a Dark Sage, and by nature he was one capable of Cursed Seals. In was quite probable that Kazuki was weakened by a larger extent. "I never condoned the use of Cursed Seals, but where did you get yours form?"<i></i> He would inquire. Kuro was capable of making his own cursed seals, but it took him a long amount of time to acquire the ability to produce another one. It was entirely possible that Kazuki was providing them to him, but there was also the possibility of others as well. Kuro was capable of seeing them, but Sousuke was not. That was a concern to the Kazekage. "So now what ... you're just going to seemingly walk this up, or just train up now?"<i></i>
