By the sea, that's the life that Kasen covets. That's exactly why Kasen found herself walking along the beaches by the piers of the harbor. A lot of ships were docked and many of the people running the fish market and unloading several crates from the ships kept themselves busy. In fact, Kasen came by the harbor so often many of the people here knew her by name and greeted her when they saw her. Some of the men that went out to sea quite often made jokes about her shark-like oddities. She would always playfully banter back to them when the did so and greeted them with equal cheer. Sometimes she would even help them unload their wares. But that wasn't what she was doing today. Despite being able to see the piers, she was a good distance away, walking the sandy beach. Her feet left small footprints behind her in the wet patches of sand as the tide washed in and out on the bank. Today she had plans to go swimming, hence the dark blue swimsuit she wore with nothing but a thin long sleeved shirt over top of it and carried a large beach towel in her hand.
She had traveled quite a bit before she placed her beach towel down, and removed the shirt, placing it down next to the towel. The salt in the air was like a comfort to her as she breathed it in. She put on a pair of sunglasses, tying her hair up in a ponytail and stepped out until she was about ankle deep in the waters. She looked out, seeing the shimmering on the surface of the waters from the sun, the waves lulling back and forth in a calm manner. The ocean was such a mysterious and wondrous sight to behind. It is beautiful but dangerous. None yet know the entirety of what lies within, and yet still they venture out to enjoy and explore. Kasen smiled, thinking of her own ties to the waters. So different, so freeing to feel your body coursing through the water, feeling the power from being part of something much, much bigger than yourself. Simply existing.
A moment passed before Kasen noticed something in the waters. A gray fin cutting through the surface, breaking the calm. Kasen hummed to herself taking another couple steps in. The fin languidly kept swimming in slow circles back and forth. Kasen was about knee deep in the waters at this point. A slight breeze was gently sweeping her long crimson hair to the side. She took a deep breath in. "Same, Same, Sharku" Kasen laughed to herself. She continued to watch the fin move for a bit longer, still keeping her eye on it before she decided to venture out further in the water, kicking her feet to keep herself afloat. Several times the water would gently splash her face as a new wave headed toward the shoreline. Kasen gently allowed herself to float on the water surface on her back, staring up into the sky. She rested her eyes for a minute, enjoying the flow of the water. She could get used to this. Just her and the water, and the inhabitants below.
