Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Within the confined of the palace is a room, or rather a small grouping of rooms deep underground. The portal to these spaces down below is a large, feathersteel-reinforced trapdoor. A ladder is lowered into the darkness and in response to the light something or rather many something flee from the blinding ambiance. There was a man standing at the edge of the opening with his head cocked to the side, he whistled as if he was calling a mongrel to his side before he tossed several loafs of bread into the door and watched what could only be likened to the activity of a ravenous swarm of piranhas, the bread was consumed. There were symptoms of kindness seen in some of those housed here, morsels of bread recovered and saved for the weaker and ill that lined the walls but for the most part these pallid children were feral. They bit, scratched and fought for whatever nourishment there would be had.

He could see the hope in the eyes of some who had not been there for long when they saw the door lift. As if their savior would be on the other side. Others seemed to have given up, huddled in corners where they waited for their death be it due to their inherent weakness' or their lack of will. Then there were others, they learned eventually how to thrive. They would fight for their meals. They would take from the weak and some were even cannibalistic. Those were the ones who had the will to survive and there was one such youth in there now. His mouth bloodied from the bite of meat he just partook from his still living prey. His victim shrieked and cried, his voice harsh and raspy as he scuttled away. The boy seemed undisturbed by this as he wiped the blood from his mouth with his hand and licked the remnants. His ghoulish eyes looked skyward at Number 5, his eyes never left the light.

A light snicker could be heard as a ladder was lowered. A pair of scrappy children made a run for the wooden gradation as Number 5 descended. With a wave of his hand, the foolish miscreants were launched back several feet and with a sickening thud they hit the far wall. Most of the children had already learned, either through trial and perpetual error or by witnessing the failure of others that escape was non-existent from here without an extended hand. Only those who had the will to survive this maddening experience ever saw what caused that brilliant bright light. "You," Number 5 announced as he stretched out his hand. The boy took a step back and growled. "You, number eighty four," Number 5 took a step forward and wrapped his fingers around the young boy's wrist. The child hissed and snapped. With a rough, smooth motion Number 5 pulled the boy or rather Number 84 towards him and with his other hand he grasped the youngster's jaw. He lifted the child off his feet with ease with this single, outstretched hand and with a single half-turn he pressed the boy against the ladder and gave him a single word order "...climb."

Much older than he appears, unlike the others in this group he actually joined the Soverign of his free will over thirty years ago. The point that should be made here is that Sayuri was initiated a year earlier meaning she is presently 38 years of age, Number 3 is only 40, Number 2 is 44 and Number 1 is believed to be almost 50. It is estimated that Nao is about 70, he is considered to be a confidant of the Diamyo's and his oldest friend. He is also rumored to be immortal, but this rumor has never been proven or disproven. A dabbler in Jashinism, Nao is not a Jashinist but rather a Dark Sage. His power-set differs from that of other Dark Sages however. More powerful in a singular regard while at the same time much more limited. Nao's corpses work independent of him, however their scope is limited to their command and the corpses remain their previous sentiment but not full control. He has a particular interest in former Sunahoshi corpses as well as other figures of historical significance. He is considered to be potentially the most powerful among the Soverign, however this has never been proven because nobody has actually ever fought him.

In terms of personality, he is a perfectionist and a man who expects to be in control. He enjoys the finer things in life and despite his both youthful and delinquent-like facade he speaks like a man who has seen the world more than once.

The Below.

Such a claustrophobic, ehthonic passage, a vivid analogue of a tomb unlit and forgotten less the huddled mass in the far corner. The were cold, wrapped in threadbare rags and hungry but they were not huddled for warmth but rather they were huddled over something. They were not hungry any longer, beneath them was good meat. Raw and bloody but fresh and their hands and their teeth ripped into the not yet desiccated flesh of the fallen.

They knew her, it was a her after all. She was the smallest among them and it was not a matter of drawing straws that ensured her fate nor was it that death chose her and they were not the kind to overlook a meal regardless of the source. These children looked more like savage beasts in how they grunted and snarled as they exceeded their fill, none knowing if they would find another meal in one of their peers or if they would be forced to stave off their hunger if it was directed onto them.

In places such as these, in the darkness and the desperation terror and hunger subvert conscious reason, honor and dignity. Hope, love and charity transform into disgust and anger. This is the place the gods have forgotten, these people are the forsaken and the unknown, the unimportant and in most cases dead men walking.
