The floating shrine moved passed the main street casting a shadow on the streets of Maruishi below. It was quite around here, all the time, rarely anyone managed to get within the hollow gateway as it floated by. It took some time for her to find a way to get in, but it wasn't actually that hard. It was more so hard to find out the true intentions of this floating graveyard. The place was empty, devoid of any life besides herself. The only other sound were the creaks and echos as the shrine shifted it's movement. It was truly hard to hear it do such, and it could very well have been in her head. Possibly, a trick her mind played as she could feel the shifts in it's movement. She looked down onto the cityscape, watching the people go about their lives. Their went her favorite bakery. Then the ice cream shop. A nice clothing store she had been to plenty. Her other favorite bakery. She watched as it all passed by slowly, the people unknowingly watched from above. This place as ancient as it was had lost it's true meaning. A meaning she learned in books that only collected dust in the library she found them in. A beacon of hope, perhaps as it was, no longer seeming to be anymore. Not that it couldn't be, but that it had become so regular that most payed it no head. It truly was a marvel to be had though. Slipping around the city, a monstrous building, suspended by an unknown chakra source that surrounded the cities. A building that lost it's glory long before she came to be.
Occasionally it would pass by those that prayed to it, but never getting close to stepping on. It still had followers, but only collected dust for the most part. The young girl could tell that this place was once important, if not from the views she had, but of the dust that collected. Human skin, powdered and snow flaking. It was everywhere, and in power. Her prints plainly visible without the need of any detective work. She had gone around the place a few times, but never deeply inside. Upon happening into this view, she stopped and just watched the city churn. How long had she been standing their? The dust on the ground displaced all around. She had fallen asleep at least twice. Once from watching a passing cloud go by, in the shape of a rabbit that even seemed to move. The other from a long gaze down below just seemed to overwhelm her.
She passed by a hill side just a moment ago, some people standing atop of it with an old woman seeming to pray. She had some children playing behind her, stopping for a moment to watch the monolith pass. She waved to them and they seemed amazed, running to watch as it floated away to get a better view.
She turned around, looking at her foot steps and then in the other direction. She should continue exploring this place. She knew it held clues to what happened to her master. Afterall, this was once the home to those known as Guardians.
