Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Just as the sun lifted above the horizon to signal the start of a new day across the land of fire, there was stirring outside of a nameless workshop in the White Oak District. A young man with a wiry frame was fiddling with a padlock on the garage. His complexion was bronze and glorious in the warm glow of dawn. On his back, a swirling red emblem was centered on his chunin flak jacket, two sizes too big, which was open and drooping over his sides. Dark-lensed riding goggles were pushed up over his forehead, meeting the thick, curly auburn mane. Jomei pushed them up higher as he approached the door, revealing humble round eyes with cadmium hued, vividly orange pupils. He wore a bow slung over his back, and a quiver of golden arrows hung from his waist. There was an excitement all over him that morning— the look Jomei had when more adventure was impending. Cautiously, he gave a look around him before opening his garage. Even when acting in earnest, Jomei Koyanagi appeared as mischievous as they came. His clever smile and pearly white teeth were disarming whenever he didn't confuse you with scientific jargon.

Yes, Mister Koyanagi was a young shinobi with a building renown as a tinkerer of sorts; he was often caught up in his work and would envelop you in the same web of ideas and algorithms if you gave him a chance. For the last few years he had made a quiet living for himself in Konoha— rather mundanely, in all honesty, doing mechanic work while finding the occasional creative pursuit. Among those creations was a contraption he revealed sitting dormant within the garage. The Iron Spider was a construct hewed from tempered bronze and hickory wood— aptly a spider by design. The machine was inscribed with glowing sigils and a presence of chakra which gave it a semblance of life, awakening when the garage opened, six glowing eyes blinking. The eight-legged construct was larger than an ox but just as docile as it too functioned as a beast of burden. On command the machine exited the space, pulling netting hoisted on its backside that resembled a web sac. It seemed as if all sorts of things could have been under that tarp based on the funky shape of it. While his Iron Spider was not Jomei’s finest accomplishment, he did have an affinity developed towards his artificial companion.
“Come on out buddy, today’s the day, Juntaro,” said Jomei as he ushered the creature forth. The delighted creature responded with beeping sounds, whizzing, and doot dooting. It followed its master then, remaining about five feet behind Jomei and striding at an even, mechanical cadence.

The outward appearance of the duo did suggest that they were prepared for a journey of some sorts, though to where was an absolute mystery. Jomei picked up a leathery backpack which was sat at the doorstep to the home attached to the garage. A long enough look at the home insisted that it had been stripped bare of its contents— the window portals revealed an empty residence within. Yes, that time had come, the one for journeying, but the kind where Jomei bothered to leave nothing behind. In truth, several peaceful years leading a commoner’s life within the leaf had served Jomei well, but deep within he could never deny a profound yearning for the road.

There were moments of regret for him as he made his final stride through the Leaf city streets— he even passed that luxury hotel where he met an idol and almost got lucky one night. His cheeks blushed as he remembered Yume but his stomach growled as he also remembered all the good food he had that night. Perhaps there were other people who’d eventually notice the absence of Jomei Koyanagi, though he did work smartly to keep his footprints within the leaf small over the years. Few people would miss him for he had planned it that way, as it was the way of the scholar to seek immortality through the printing of their research lasting for ages after their demise. A man of science chooses the mind over matters of the heart, and Jomei knew that even if he faded from the world, one day his manuscripts and research would surface. They would be regarded as brilliant, of that much he was sure. But for now, he settled for anonymity, becoming ever the reclusive one. Leaving the Hidden Leaf would be as simple as his arrival and he’d go along with his business, onward to his next greater endeavor. Like a spider, he blended simply into his surroundings and walked unassumingly towards the village’s main portal. He had heard rumors of recent trouble in the vicinity but paid no mind to local squabbles: the riff-raff were of no consequence to his own scheming. With Juntaro in tow, young mister Koyanagi simply walked through the gates and would continue on his way if he caught no one’s attention. In the event he was stopped, it would be as simple as providing his identification and passport— genuine articles, of course.

Suddenly, Jomei forgot that he left the oven on. His thoughts began rolling through worst-case scenarios of what might happen if he left indefinitely with the ham he left roasting. His fire alarm wouldn't even sound— after several false alarms during an experiment he did in the kitchen he disabled it long ago. "I forgot the ham Juntaro" he told his pet as he spun about and pat a flat palm onto the mechanical spider's head. "That thing is going to feed me for a few days... long enough to reach the border. 'I'd best not leave it behind."
