The Ebon blade, a weapon acquired as a sort of peace offering between the Steward and the Ancient Mikaboshi. Sousuke balanced the blade on his index and middle fingers as he looked at it. Mikaboshi who had tried to take over his body had failed. Be that as it may, the Steward judged the Ancient to be of some great use for Sungakure. It was a matter of keeping him on a leash, and that the Steward had done. Granted of course that leash was merely a leather one and not a choke chain, in terms of metaphors. The Steward snorted as he continued to balance the blade. It was a blade full of history, and a history that the Steward had an inkling of. It belonged to the Flame Court of old, which susposedly the Ancient Homura belonged to. The weapon did not handle well for the Steward, and thus it was time to modify and re-purpose it for himself rather than Mikaboshi or the Flame Court
Thus the Steward took to the forge. At first he began to work on the pommel and handle. The Steward changed the grip to feel more comfortable in his hand and to make sure he could always get a good grip on the sword. Next he began to work on the pommel. Not much work to be done there, but the Steward worked merely to maintain the balance between blade and handle. The Steward worked to overside the original power core which was attuned to Mikaboshi and his control of the shadows. At the present time the Steward was not used to using such an element, and instead attuned the blade to his elemental preferences of fire and lightning.
Finally came the blade itself. The Steward merely sharpened the blade with a whet stone, and even then not much more was required of him as the blade had miraculously been well maintained throughout its years in the sealed vaults from whence it came. All in all, the blade changed very little, but now it was meant for human hands instead of the hands of an Ancient.
