Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Ye Olde Shoppe of Anciente Items.

Kyokuso winced. How... pretentious. No way can the shop really be selling items of the olden days, could it? Kyokuso glanced up and down the street. This particular street seemed to sell really high end items, and it attracted a respective crowd. He was pretty sure no one here was less-dressed than him. Pretty sure. After all, every man, woman, and child he had seen since entering the area wore high end kimonos or other garbs - including any Shinobi that he spotted. Down the road were various shops selling the latest fashion items, and it was the same further up the road.

This shop in particular caught his eyes. He had been here all too often, this area, but this was the first time he'd been to this shop. Not surprising, given the previous shop had recently closed down, only for the store to be renovated and turned into this. He had to admit though, it was very impressive. Large display windows adorned the front of the shop, allowing passerby's to have a clear view of what's inside. Various items were displayed for the world to see, including some strange-looking weapons that he could only begin to guess the function of.

Okay so maybe this shop really was selling some really cool items. Kyokuso stepped into the shop, actually extremely excited to see what was available. As he walked in, he was greeted almost immediately with the metallic scent of rust, combined with something like sandalwood. Interesting combination, he thought, as he approached the first row of items for display. There were nine rows in total, seven of which harbored various weapons. One of the remaining two had various utility items of old, and the last row all the way towards the back of the shop had... vases. Lots and lots of vases.

Staff abounded, waiting for any queries to be asked, so that they can make their sale. Sometimes, they didn't even wait. Kyokuso avoided the eyes of the nearest staff members. He was not exactly here today to buy any strange items from a past bygone. He was pretty sure both of his parents would not be happy if he bought items willy-nilly.

Kyokuso began to scan through the items in front of him, many of which happened to be swords. The first few were from more recent eras, apparently wielded by heroes of their ages. As he moved along the row of weapons, one caught his eye specifically. It was a strange polearm of some sort, about 2.5m or so long with ancient inscriptions of an unrecognizable tongue all the way down its sides. The polearm seemed to be made of bronze, with the sharp tip of the pole decorated with razor-like teeth pointed towards the other end of the pole. Kyokuso could recognize right away that the barbs was designed so that when the polearm would be stabbed into something, it would latch on like a fish hook. Whatever the purpose of the polearm was, it was definitely not designed for play.

The placard for the polearm described it as being five hundred or so years old - so not too ancient in his books. What caught his attention however, was that it was given the name "Point Breaker", and described to be the breaker of barriers - along with, well, irradiating its opponents. Yep, definitely sounds not fun at all, if you were to be on the receiving end of it. Still though, he was not too fazed by the weapon. There were others around that he was receiving weird vibes from... Kyokuso looked up and glanced at a number of weapons placed apart from each other ahead. Even from here, he felt some sort of dark vibe from them. He didn't recognize it when he first came in, but he definitely did now.

Cursed items... maybe?

He wondered just how many of these weapons belong in some sort of museum with special protocols. He felt like if some of the descriptions were true - cursed, holy, and spiritual items were all here - then selling them to the wider populace was not a good idea. Kyokuso looked down at the placard again for Point Breaker, and sighed. Yeah, no, at least not to the wider populace. The number of zeroes on the price of the polearm told him only the most wealthy could afford these weapons. And, if the wealthy bought these weapons, they would most likely definitely just go on display in a home somewhere, rather than ever being used.
