Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The sun wasn't even awake yet but the boy had to see what this place was going to be like for him. His blue eyes darted across the training field, still sunken in the earth as Project Rebirth hasn't brought forth a new life to the Academy. There were marks of battle and chakra scars on the training gear. Scorch marks that weren't cleaned up entirely and cracks in the earth from children attempting earth style Ninjutsu. There were scattered shuriken and kunai across the field as well. A quick sigh as the boy stepped forward and closer towards the center of the training grounds. He stood near a wooden dummy to practice Taijutsu before pulling up on the hem of his two shirts. The white t-shirt and blue long sleeved shirts came off together and we're placed on an arm of the dummy. Taking a few steps away he tightened the belt on his blue shorts, and stretched his arms up.

His pale skin was tight against his muscles but his strength was visible. Lowering his body closer to the ground a click of Chakra surged through his veins. His piercing blue eyes appeared to match that of a feline. The cut of his pupils thinned as he stared across the expanse of nothing. Launching himself forward sand shot back, and before he knew it he was in the air. Tucking his arms against his body and twisting his legs allowed him to realign mid air to look downwards. The Chakra in his body slowed his descent but this was still a skill he was learning. Sweat began to bead up as he fell slowly toward the ground. Pulling out a few shuriken he spun quickly again launching out stars towards the distant targets. The stars were infused with small amounts of Chakra to help direct their trajectories. He landed on the ground, headfirst but he gracefully rolled up and onto his feet. He once again pushed off of the ground but this time his direction was towards the school wall. Sending shuriken out again towards the target before landing on the wall he switched to a more physical mode. Kicking off of the building he darted towards a Taijutsu wooden dummy, landing his right foot in the neck of it, haunting his motion. Turning over he cracked the head with his left fist before grabbing it and twisting his body upwards into a single hand stand on top. Shifting his weight in a quick spin he slammed his fists unto the head of the dummy again; this time creating a crack. He landed on his feet before letting out a deep breath and shaking his right hand.

He took a couple steps back, reaching back he grabbed his shirts and wiped his face clean of sweat with them. He closed his eyes to refocus his chakra, he had spent a lot of it in the short burst

Morning. The early hours of the day, Urajimiru usually dedicated to a short run or some form of practice, which this day resulted in him finding his way to the Academy. Recently, he had found himself coming back to this place more often than not, and he wasn't exactly going to fight it. Whatever it was that was dragging him back was of little concern, and in the whole scheme of things, it was comforting to the redheaded teen. He was dressed in his usual attire, gray-scale colored in hues. His dual layered shirt missing the shoulders as it were, but that fact was hidden beneath the faded black scarf that was wrapped about him, hiding his mouth and chin. He carried his impressive shuriken with him, as always, tucked behind his frame within the custom holster that was held up by twin belts that also supported his pants.

With a deep and relaxing sigh, the wolf-boy paused in his run as he stopped to check the wrappings that held his boots in place, his crimson lupine tail swaying side to side lazily as he did. His ears, same in hue to his tail, had perked up for a moment when an echo of someone practicing against a dummy rang out. He hadn't expected anyone else to be out so early, especially here. Then again, this wasn't something he often did either, so there was a high chance another would be around. Not that mattered in the whole scope of things, but he was curious, and that was something he rarely pushed aside. So, as it were, Ura made his way to where the sounds were coming from and kept his distance as his metal-gray hued eyes watched what was going on.

The wolf-boy leaned heavily against a nearby wall, taking in the youngster's movements and actions, rather amused by the skill he showed. However, the small boy's training session didn't seem to last long at all, as once he managed to actually crack the dummy, he appeared to be content to stop there. With a roll of his eyes, and his hands now stuffed into his pockets, Ura pushed himself from the wall he was leaning on and moved into the open.
"Is that all you've got?" His tone was taunting in a way, a sinister smirk twisting at the corners of his lips. That expression was mostly unseen, but the rather impish glint within his eyes was entirely apparent. "Sure, it was impressive to watch, I'll give you that. But, kid, if that tires you out how do you imagine you are going to compete when it matters?"

The boy turned to look at the newcomer, he hadn't even noticed this guy coming closer. Hoseki looked at his hand, he could feel the Chakra trying to reestablish it's normal flow. A sigh slipped through his lips. "My Taijutsu is fine, it's just my chakra pool..." he clenched his fist before looking back towards the wold boy before throwing his shirts over his shoulder and back onto the dummy behind him. The piercing blue eyes navigated over this guy's body, trying to analyze him. This canine physique was a new one to the boy.

"I have enough control for this..." As he spoke his held his right arm out to his side, swinging it down in front of him. As he did sand began to spiral up in a fluid like style and around his fingers. As his hand rose he brought it in front of him with the palm facing the sky. The sand began to condense and quartz crystals began to develop claw like structures around his finger. "... which is about all I tend to use in fights anyway."

The student made a fist allowing the jutsu to finish its formation, break the flow of sand and solidifying his newly developed claws. Twiddling his fingers, scraping sounds could be heard as the blades seemed to begin to sharpen themselves. Moving his eyes to the claws the boy spoke. "I'm not much of a Ninjutsu or Genjutsu kinda guy, well not yet."</COLOR><i></i> he looked side eyed over towards the academy. "That's why I've decided to join the academy. I need to become stronger." he looked at the teen in front of him as he lowered his hand to his hip. And brining up his other hand which had also developed claws. He gestured in such a way that it made it obvious he didn't want to ask this question...

<COLOR color="green">"Any pointers?"

Another chuckle would slip from Urajimiru as he watched the other boy's gaze slip over him. His tail flicked as his head canted to the side, his own eyes peering towards the youth. His ears tipped forward, not in an aggressive motion, but one of interest as he took a few measured steps closer. His hands pulled from his pockets and one rose to rush through his sanguine locks and over one of his furred lupine ears, only to drop down and tug against the scarf that was wrapped around his neck. "Unfortunate, but... Some of us just aren't suited to use large scale jutsu." He murmured in a devilish sort of tone. He fell silent as he watched the kid creating those crystalline claws that now adorned his digits.

"Those are flashy, but having more than one thing to rely on is a better idea." A nonchalant shrug caused his shoulders to rise and fall, the motion slow and lazy. "You do know the Academy only teaches you the basics, right?" That mocking tone was still in his voice, his head coming forward in an almost snake like gesture, and his hands once again finding their way to his pockets. "If you want strength you need to test yourself, learn things that being a student won't teach you. You'll be limited to lectures and tests and written things, but in the end, what do you think makes a shinobi? ---" He'd pause for a time, walking a large circle around the kid, his piercing gaze never leaving the boy's frame. "Experience. That's what."

The response was accentuated only by Ura leaping deftly to stand atop the dummy that his victim, as it were, had only just recently cracked. Still, the wolf-boy held that 'devil-may-care' attitude and stance, his spine and shoulders curling in on himself even as he now looked down at the kid. "Pointers? What do you want pointers for?" He snickered softly, again a hand rose to tug on the loops of his scarf, allowing the youth to catch a glimpse of those elongated canines of his within a flash of a cruel sneer.

Hoseki watched the canine approach him slightly and he listened to what he had to say. Something about him made this young Shinobi feel some unease. He already knew that he would only be learning the basics but that was one of the things he needed to work on. This man child seemed to be talking to Hoseki as if he was ignorant. This frustrated him. His crystal blue eyes thinned back into their feline esque slits. He stood there as the newcomer circled him. He knew what he had to do. If this guy was going to talk tough then he needed to prove himself to Hoseki...

He turned to look at the man who was now on the dummy. "Chakra." Sand blew out from where he was standing and the boy was now gone. In the air above the wolf appeared Hoseki, his body aligned to view his now victim. "But if experience is all I need..."

Clapping his hands together and slowly pulling them apart brought forth sparks of electricity. As if kicking off of the air itself Hoseki launched himself at the newcomer, much like an Ocelot punching on a rodent. Slashing forward with his hand he would hope to make contact with the newcomers back.

The wolf-boy was hardly blind to the frustration and annoyance that the other kid had flaring within him. The changing of his pupils, even the way that he stood and held his body. Small but subtle tells alerted Ura to the boy's irritation. "Tch." He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth as the youth disappeared in a burst of sand. A bemused grin decorated his visage as he heard the words from above him, his ears tilting to focus on the sound of the child's voice. "You're going to use me to test you? Perfect. I was getting rather bored."

The redheaded teen waited until the last second to disappear in a cloud of smoke, leaving his now-opponent with nothing but a wooden kawarimi target to lash out at. "Slow." That single word was quick to snap out from above the kid, Ura's hands flying through the necessary seals to have a burst of flame appear and launch downwards only to burst into a shower of sparks. No sooner had that shower of embers started, the wolf-boy's right hand darted to the ring that formed the center of his massive shuriken. The weapon was pulled from its holster and a loud clang rang through the air as the impressive star was snapped out and its blades locked into place around that center circle.

Urajimiru wasted little time in lobbing the hulking metal star towards the kid, the force of which pushed him back even while he was in the air. "You're going to have to try harder than that!" There was little chance that the weapon would actually strike his target, but that wasn't exactly his goal. It may appear to be the case, but the other boy wouldn't know that, and that was ideal. Even as Ura fell from above, his ears had snapped forward once more, their position a readily readable aggression. His upper lip peeled back in a wolfish snarl, although, that wasn't seen again as his scarf clung to his neck and chin, the long trailing end streaming out behind him.

The feeling of flesh under his claws surprised him as instead he felt wood splintering in his hand. The substitution jutsu. This was one of the basics he already knew, but this meant he was open for an attack. As he hit the ground he turned around raising both hands summoning forth the Sands to condense into a small quartz feline. Slightly larger than the average house cat this creation was probably a forth of the boys size. He looked up at the rain of embers, this attack was a weaker one so he knew it had to be a distraction. Slamming his hands on the ground behind him he did a series of back hand springs. Moving himself a few meters away from the embers his crystal cat also darted away but on the opposite direction.
[col]The small child seemed to carry cat like reflexes. The thin slits of his eyes darted towards his opponent as the sound of the windmill shuriken struck the earth where he was mere seconds ago. Pushing off of the ground with his full strength Hoseki launched himself towards the descending fire wielder. Twisting his body the boy sent most of his inertia to his right foot where he would aim at his opponents side.|The crystal cat made contact with the school wall and turned it's attention to the wolf boy. Jumping down and darting towards him in a zigzag pattern this creations speed was faster than that of its creator. From underneath of the mid air victim the feline launched up aiming for the trailing scarf. In an attempt to distract the wearer the crystal cat would try and latch it's teeth on trail and pull to bring the attention of the teenager to it and not the boy.[/col]

The creation of that quartz cat was impressive, even to the Genin, but the form only made him think back to his adoptive family and their connections to Byakko. That sick and twisted expression was still upon his visage, hidden behind that long scrap of cloth in his amusement at the thoughts. Regardless, he was falling. There was no doubt about that, and he knew that there was going to be some sort of assault towards him. Urajimiru was not disappointed in that assumption, as the kid lobbed himself into the air and that crystalline cat quick to follow and even overtake the boy's movements. The feline was entirely unexpected, but the fact that his opponent had jumped into the air towards him, now that was something he was actually hoping for.

The wolf-boy paid little mind to the quartz beast, at least for the time being as it was apparent that it had been aiming for his scarf. If it had been going for his legs or arms, that would have been a different story, but for now the threat it was in his eyes was entirely minimal. The other boy, however, was a different story. With a callous and lilting laughter, he lifted a hand to pull down on the scarf, loosening the fabric so that it wouldn't throttle him as the cat pulled on it. In effect, the flowing object fell away from him, even as he took a deep breath. When he exhaled, his breath lit in a burst of flames towards the kid that was aiming to blast him in the side. Momentum would only carry him into the fire, that is unless he found a way to change his direction, substitution, or some other trick that was likely up his sleeve.

Then again, the redheaded teen was far from stupid, he was already formulating plan after plan with every scenario that flashed through his mind. All things considered, he needed to get his shuriken back and keep his distance from his targets. No matter when, or how he hit the ground, Ura would gain his footing swiftly and take off towards the weapon. His feet carried him to his weapon with a few steps, and as he neared it, he fell to a knee in the sand and slid past the hulking brute of a star. As his momentum carried him forward his hand lashed out to snag the ring between the blades, the weapon coming loose from the ground with little struggle. It collapsed back into itself, the four blades locking into place again with a scream of metal. "Still not good enough kid. C'mon! I'm getting bored here!" He barked the words as his ears pinned backwards again and his tail lashed about behind him in a playful manner. Whatever would come, he was ready. Maybe he'd let the kid feel like he had the upper hand, maybe. Or maybe the kid would gain it himself, he really didn't know what would come first, but it was all a matter of timing and Ura had some ideas and tricks that he was going to use. It might not be fair, but hey, whoever said fighting was meant to be fair usually lost.

Hoseki fell for something he knew was a possibility. As he approached his opponent he saw a blast of fire coming towards him. Shifting his body to cover himself with his arms. A small surge of Chakra went through his veins, the Chakra itself had a minor affinity to water so it eased some of the force from the flames ((ooc: though I don't have any jutsus I do have the minor affinity in water btw)). Continuing the the burst of flame he felt the stinging pain of burnt flash on his bare arms and chest. Landing on all fours near the academy the boy looked over to see his crystal cat land with the scarf in its mouth. He might take this a souvenir after the battle, but until then the cat dropped the scarf and instantly darted towards the teenager. Fang vs Fang, this was probably a cliché of a spout but nonetheless Hoseki didn't care.

Filtering through a couple Handseals the boy plummeted his hands onto the ground causing a Gravel Shift jutsu to quickly pull the teenager towards the cat as it darted for a direct attack. The quartz claws aimed to sink into his torso. As the cat went for thee direct attack Hoseki got up and darted towards his enemy again but this time he was ready for what he could throw this way. Making another series of seals the boy stopped a few feet away, slammed his hands together to forming what looked like a tesla coil. Electricity surged from his body and from the tip of the single finger pointing at his enemy a Storm Bolt jutsu blasted out causing a streak of bright light towards the fire-breathing hound.

The smell of burning skin and flesh was not pleasant, that was an obvious thing as Urajimiru's face scrunched up in a look of disgust. Damn him for having been gifted with such things from his guardian spirit. If there was one thing he would hand back to the Okami that saved him, it would be the strengthened sense of smell he had been granted. Nonetheless, Urajimiru's eyes narrowed as the kid dropped to the ground, landing much as the cat behind him did. He shook his head, amused to say the least at the similarities between his opponent and his adopted family. But that wasn't something he needed to think of currently. The fight at hand needed his focus, and so that was where his mind reverted to and would remain for the duration.

The sands beneath Ura's feet shifted and he felt himself being yanked towards the crystalline animal that was bounding towards him. That was unexpected, but he steeled himself and took a mere instant to place his folded weapon back within its holster. With his hands free once more they would set to flying through another set of hand seals. This time, however, it would be a personal use and until either the cat or the boy made contact with his body they wouldn't know the effects. He had heated his own form to an intense level, knowing full well that he was going to get hit at one point or another.

That thought was confirmed as the stone cat lobbed itself towards him, and he was dragged before it in turn, the redheaded teen barely managed to dodge the bolt of lightning that arched towards him. He felt the tingle of electricity that ignited the air around the attack and in that moment he was thankful that he had managed to maneuver around it. However, in that motion he wasn't able to avoid the claws of the creature and as such they raked along his ribs in a painful slash. He hissed out and locked his jaw, his teeth grinding against each other from the aching bolt of agony that ran through him. The cat would in turn receive its own damage, the jutsu the wolf had performed earlier showing its fiery properties in the same moment that the teen had been struck.

Once Urajimiru got his pain levels under control, that sickly sneer made itself known again. His ears pricking upwards and his tail ceasing its constant wagging. Sure, that wasn't an obvious thing as it moved when the wolf-boy did, but even so. "Good one." He muttered even as he shifted his movements to take lighter and quicker steps, lining the cat and its creator up as best he could. Again, his hand darted to the grand shuriken to yank it from its holster and lob it once more towards a target. This time however, he chose the cat. He set the direction of the bladed weapon to make the cat move back towards the boy. Even if it didn't hit, that wouldn't matter. No sooner had the star left his grasp, did Ura's hands come together once again and fly through yet another set of hand seals. This time, a much large ball of fire was created and launched towards the pair that he was now fighting. When it exploded, the fires would lash out towards both his enemies. He was panting heavily by now, however he wasn't exhausting himself just yet, but he was getting to that point.

The strike of the crystal creation landed even though the electric strike did not. Even with knowing that the blow on his enemy was a positive one, the cat's crystalline structure was damaged. Small fractures could be see on its paws from the heat. This was something Hoseki couldn't distract himself with, he knew his chakra pool was running low. The older boy probably had a larger pool which meant he could last longer in the heat of the moment. As his mind began to roam and wander it clicked to him that he was fairly open to the next attack. Before he knew it a large flaming sphere was coming towards him. He channeled his chakra quickly as the fireball swallowed up the crystal creation. A blast of smoke emerged as the fireball hit.

Body Switch jutsu, this was something that Hoseki had already mastered but it wasn't something he could do very often. He appeared behind the fire breather, which was completely planned. Darting towards his opponent he went in with a slew of attacks. Swinging with his full body he would attempt to crash his right foot into the ribs of the man, twisting his body quickly to crash his left fist towards his opponent's knees. With his right hand he balanced himself on the ground before sending out a barrage of kicks, dropping his weight to the ground he would spin to try and knock out his opponents foot holding. As he did this the crystal creation, though more fractures occurred from the assult of the fireball, came darting from the torched field and launched up to land a shot directly at the dogs face.

Success! That giant fireball had exploded and engulfed the pair of Urajimiru's targets. However, as the flames and smoke faded, he realized that in essence he had only succeeded in striking a telling blow against the crystalline creature. The boy, had managed to body switch, which wasn't entirely unexpected. It didn't take long for the redhead to know that his opponent had reappeared behind him, and he knew that there was a high chance that he was going to get hit by a few of the incoming attacks. In fact, the first of the set that was launched at him blasted his already ripped into side, sending the wolf-boy sideways. He wasn't out of the woods yet it would seem, as the swift punch to his knee was a reminder that things never ended with only one attack. Certainly, they could, but that was an incredibly rare occasion in their world.

With a painful grimace, Ura bared his teeth at the kid as that expression twisted into one of sinister amusement. "Hey kid. You feel that burn yet?" There was a reason why the wolf-boy hadn't bothered trying too hard to evade the blows that the youth was throwing at him. And certainly, the kid would be feeling it now. The kicks that were thrown his way were caught and blocked with ease, and the teen was quick to leap over the other's attempt to knock him prone. In the same motion, those crimson ears twitched as he heard that hulking fractured beast charge him and pounce. There was no way he was going to dodge that. Not unless he wanted to switch again, and that wasn't something he entirely wanted to do. So, at the last second, Urajimiru's arms came up to shield his face and the weight of the feline pushed him away from the boy and down to the ground below.

It was apparent at this point, that the lupine featured teen was laughing. The sound was devilish and well beyond delighted, even while he was fending off the quartz creature. "Finally!" He barked out beneath the animal, his words coated in that sick enjoyment. "At least you gave me something to do in the end." Every moment that the cat remained on him and attacked him it would take more damage. He wasn't about to drop that armor he had given himself by superheating his own body. No, he still had more than enough chakra to keep that going for at least a bit longer. Even so, he grew tired of the heavy brute that was attempting to maul him and he brought both of his legs against his frame and lashed out at its torso. If that didn't work to either break the beast or throw it from him, well, he would switch out once more and reappear behind his grand shuriken that was embedded in the ground not too far away. He had one more trick up his sleeve either way, and it was just a matter of time before he used it.

"How much more do you have in you? I see you weakening. Or, is it the burns? Didn't you think about that? Come on, you have to remember the small details." He was always taunting, always trying to feed the anger of others, trying to get them to lose themselves to their emotions. A fighter who wasn't focused on the task at hand wouldn't make it far. "Show me what you've got left, kid."

The burning sensation was worse than he thought would happen originally. The searing pain essentially cover all if his extremities, but he had to endure. This was a fight after all. He was was able to do some damage with hso assault but not nearly enough for the black lash he had received. The boy needed to find another method to attack as his usual hand-to-hand combat was proving to be ineffective, but his chakra reserves were also almost completely empty.

Rolling to his feet as the crystal creation was on top of the wolf boy he needed to think. He could tell the heat was getting to the cat as well. Hairline fractures began to fill the beast. He took a breath. He could tell that he was out ranked by this genin, but he wouldn't stop until he had to. His mind began to wonder what he could do next then it happened.

Shattered glass. The sound of the crystal cat exploding into hundred of pieces. This was something that Hoseki was not expecting to happen so fast in the battle. He straightened up and looked towards the wolf. "I guess it's true what they say... small dogs are all bark and no bite."<i></i>

Hoseki could tell this man was trying to play with his mind, but he wasn't going to be distracted that easily. Weaving a few Handseals the boy planted his foot on the ground hard before flipping in the air. Casting out a Stone Bullet jutsu he launched a large rock from the section of earth he was just planted on. As he landed from his flip he pointed his fingers and sent out a bolt of energy. The lightning style Storm Bolt jutsu drained most of the remaining chakra in the boys pool, but he had to push himself further. Dropping to a knee from exhaustion he knew couldn't stop. Preparing himself for what ever was to come body shifted into a more detailed defensive stance. His arm crossed his body, brandishing his claws outward toward the wolf. He'd use Taijutsu if need be.

"Is that so?" Urajimiru sneered as he gathered himself to his feet, seeing as he had been successful in breaking the quartz beast, he hadn't needed to body switch and instead had remained where he was. Freeing himself from the shattered rubble that had been the kid's cat, he spoke, his words laced with a generous amount of poisonous intent and mockery. "If my bark is worse than my bite... Then why is this," He gestured to the scattered pieces. "Broken?" He didn't care what the child said. Everything in words offered to him were of little consequence to the wolf-boy. He shook his head and dropped a hand on his hip and the other to pinch the bridge of his nose between his index finger and thumb. Again, his ears would pitch and pivot forwards, his tail lashing back and forth behind him. "So naive. Would you really like to feel how 'small' my bite is, boy?" He bared his teeth, elongated canines and all before he made a mad dash for his weapon.

It seemed the kid wasn't about to give up, even though he looked to be close to the point of exhaustion, and that fact only caused Ura to keep that disgusting grin plastered over his features. There was a reason the lupine gifted teen was cocky, it wasn't because he was compensating, it was because he knew his stuff. He knew how to manage his chakra just enough to be efficient. He hadn't graduated from the Academy early for no reason either. Then again, it's not like those details were known by his target, but that wasn't something to be boasting, at least not now.

His grey hued gaze followed the kid's movements, even the flip into the air and the jutsu that he lobbed at Ura were noted. Fights weren't complex, they broke down into movements and positioning, offensive and defensive tactic, and the redheaded teen was far from letting his arena get away from him. He darted to his weapon, snagging the thing as he moved passed it, a solid clang of metal echoing out as it was ripped from the ground and collapsed on itself once again. He had a plan, and he was going to stick to it. The rock that was launched at him was a good deal larger than he expected, but it didn't matter. Even the storm bolt was of little concern to Ura. No, he waited until the attacks were just about to crash into his body and disappeared in a cloud of smoke, rock and electricity.

When he reappeared he was behind the student, a barely audible sinister laughter breaking from him. "I thought you said my bark was worse than my bite?" The words were just about whispered, even as he ended the immolation armor jutsu he had been continuing for a time. Sure, it hurt like hell when he forced the jutsu to break, a scalding burst of heat radiating from him and if the boy wasn't quick enough, the kid as well. Even if he had gotten away, and with the now diminishing reserves of chakra that Ura had left, he would go after the poor student. This Genin was far from the type to stop or give up and as such he would once again lob the weapon towards his opponent, not caring if it hit him or not. However, if he didn't escape, Ura would be swift to draw the blades of the collapsed star to the boy's throat, or expect an attack. Whatever happened, he wasn't going to just let the kid go.

A body switch, and Hoseki knew what that meant. From behind he could feel the teens presence. Quickly leaping forward he could feel the end trails of the heat combustion coming from the teens body. Rolling forward and up to his feet he turned around just in time to see the large shuriken coming his direction. The boy didn't care if his feline familiar was shattered. He doesn't care if the genin out ranked himself. He just didn't care. That was until he went to dodge the shuriken. As if perfectly cued, he shifted his weight back to try and dodge the incoming blades but he collapsed.

Now laying flat on his back it was apparent that his chakra reserves were gone. Even the crystal claws that once adorned his fingers fell back to dust. The boys blue eyes once again were round instead of slotted. The effect of a cat eye was also lost due to the fact that the black liner around his eyes had been smeared by his beading sweat. His silky white skin had not only his thousands of scars covering his body and limbs, but reddish pink scars that made the freckle sized scars seem more visible. His chest raised and lowered as deep breaths were taken. Shifting an arm to cover his eyes a few faint chuckles could be heard slip from his lips. Pulling his arm off of his face the liner seemed to smudge even more.

"Hoseki... that's my name by the way."<i></i>

The fight wasn’t long by any means, but it seemed that both combatants were exhausted. One more than the other as it were, but that was of little console to the wolf. He had pushed himself more than he had wanted to, and more than he had even thought that he would have to against a student. Was he really getting rusty? Days spent in Suna were by far lazy days, but he had never really skipped his personal training sessions or things of that nature. So, was it really that this kid was decent? Probably. That internal question was easily answered. As such, the inner monologue that was running through Ura, left him standing, panting as it were and staring at the other boy.

“Urajimiru.” He shrugged as best he could after giving his name and sank to the ground below, his legs crossing and his weapon seated upon his lap. “You can call me Ura, or Miru. Most call me Ura, but either one is fine.” He paused for a moment to catch his breath. “Good fight though, kid. You’re good. I’ll give you that much, but still need some practice.” He tossed Hoseki a wink and shook his head, his tail wagging behind him happily, but lazily and his ears perked forward in a rather pleased gesture. He wasn’t going to lie to himself, he wanted to fight this kid again once he moved out of the Academy and progressed. Then again, he wasn’t about to shirk the notion of having friendly training sessions either. Who knew what things would amount to or where they would go, time would tell. He knew that much.

Ura chuckled softly and shook his head after a few moments had passed in silence. “So, Hoseki. What would you say to having some… Hmmm.. Training sessions with me on occasion?” It was a strange offer given the circumstances but, the worst thing he would hear was that he wasn't interested, and that in and of itself, was entirely expected. He was a hard person to get along with, let alone like, so there would be no hard feelings if the youth said ‘no’.

Laying on his back the boy continued to try and catch his breath. His entire body was sore and exhausted; it hurt to move. As he was trying to catch his breath he caught the dogs name. Ura. "Thanks, you aren't too bad yourself."<i></i> Ignoring the comment on how he still needed more training the boy would finally shift his weight to sit up and face Ura.

Raising an eye brow at the man his cat slitted eyes returned to normal. Was the dog offering to help the boy. A slight chuckle slipped from his lips. "If you aren't afraid of losing to a kid next time"<i></i>

Pushing up from the ground, the boy would wipe the dust and sand from his body before taking a few steps over to where his shirts were. He gave them a good shake to get all of the sand off before putting them on. There was something different about Ura. He wasn't sure what it was but his curiousity was getting the better of him. He wanted to study the teen more, and the only way he knew how was to continue to battle with him.
