Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Mitsuha had found herself in the Forest of Death. It has been a while that she has truly been alone in such a place. The only other time she has been here after she made Chunin rank was when she had found an academy student here and had to escort them out. But now she made it even further in rank this time, Head Jounin. She figured this would be the best spot to nearly use her full extent of her powers.

Why nearly, one might ask? Well... She has only fully mastered her powers of being a Dragon heart, and knows the implications of what would happen if she decided to use the final technique of such a kin. No doubt it would cause alarms all throughout Leaf. Something that she'd rather avoid since she is almost a leader of the Village.

She would sit down, leaning her back against a rock, thinking to herself. Huh... Head Jounin. To think that she had made it to here after so much work. When she first had started on this journey, the Forest of Death was one the very first places that she had trained at, that is, until she was reminded that it was off limits for academy students and Genin alike. She smiled to herself. Back then, she was a shy and bumbling mess back then. There were many reasons that had made her get out of that phase, mostly not good things.

But in the end, she had grown from it and became stronger and more reliable from it. Now that she isn't the shy type anymore, she more or less still likes to be left alone than in big groups. Which ironically, her personality now helps with that, since a lot of people seem to skirt around her fearing that she might calculate every which way to find all of their weaknesses with how she looks at people.

(Ooc: if you need/want me to leave I'll void this without a thought :), Also avatar is accurate for my character, still working on getting a new signature.)

The seventeen year old chuunin walked through the Forest of death as was typical for him. He had enjoyed his chuunin exam here a while back. Yomo's exam was a timed raced with obstacles. If you didn't do it in a certain amount of time you lost. It made him familiar with most of the forest as they were blindfolded when they were bright in and brought to the very center which is probably the darkest part so sunlight couldn't be seen. As Yomoko jumped around the forest thinking of memories from the past, he saw a girl roughly his age sitting alone in the forest. He wasn't the most social creature but he figured he had to start making friends someday. However maybe just acquaintances to start, he doesn't even know if this person would like him or not. "I'm way over thinking all of this." He thought to himself shaking his head. He jumped a few tree branches closer, drew his sword quickly to cut a vine and re-sheathed it, using the vine to swing even closer to her. Just he was swinging close the vine snapped and he fell on his back on the ground about fifteen feet away from her.

He slowly sat up rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn't bleeding, just a little sore from the fall. "Dam that hurt." He spoke out loud. He looked over to the girl sitting there. "Sorry to interrupt your alone time. Just came by to say hi but now look at me looking like a fool." This wasn't the way Yomoko wanted to meet someone but hey, that's life. Just as unpredictable as even. He didn't know her and he doubt she knew him. "Name's Yomoko, you can call me that or Yomo, whichever is your pleasure.". He held onto his black Katana with white flowers as he slowly stood up. "Maybe i should learn medical jutsu and be a medical ninja if I'm going to be this clumsy". He spoke to himself lowly. No more swinging from vines that's for sure. He is a five foot seven, a hundred and fifty pounds max and athletically built. It wasn't like he was morbidly obese. But these vines were as old as the forest. They don't make things like they used to.

As the girl was lost in thought, a loud crash snapped her back to reality. Her eyes would look over as a guy around her age would get up, supposedly from falling down, and approached her, introducing himself. Yomoko. She would get up and brush herself off and then nod towards him. "My name is Kaguya Mitsuha. Though people close to me call me Mits." It was weird when she said it, her nickname that people have given her. Why? Well, she is a proper girl, being raised in a rich family does that. And while her appearance says that she might be a bad girl with a sassy attitude, she is more or less tame, with the spice of being a rich girl.

She would listen as he would speak more, going into talking about needing to learn medical jutsu. She would nod, "Learning Medical jutsu could very well be helpful. I say this as I really just depend on my contract that knows medical jutsus." She would pause for a moment before continuing on, "Would I be right to assume that you must be of the Main Branch? You spoke of needing to learn medical jutsus so you can't be a mednin. And you aren't wearing a mask to suggest that you're ANBU." As Mitsuha is now Head Jounin it is kind of her job now to know who's in the Main Branch and help them grow to know more about what they would want to do. This and it will help paint a picture of who this guy is if he would want to be part of any of the Main branch sub branches.

Kaguya Mitsuha was her name. So she was a Bone manipulator lady or at least that's the assumption from her family name. Yomoko wondered if she had awakened her lineage's abilities or if it was one of those cases where it skips. Though there wasn't really a good way of asking without sounding like a jerk. Yomoko shrugged the thought off, no point in offending someone he was trying to see if he could get to know. That would be the opposite effect he's hoping for. Even if they didn't become friends, colleagues would be just as good for the Chuunin. "Mits-san it is then." He chuckled slightly repeating her name so he could help ingrain it in his brain. He was a creature of habit, which is why he was such a good Nanijorou.

"Ya I'm a chuunin have been for a little while now. I took some time to re-hone my skills and because of that lost out on some opportunities to be Jounin. Self inflicted at this point but to be honest I'm glad i did. It gave me a chance to slow down and take a second look at life and how I wanted to live it. I don't think my parents were overly fond of my decision. My father is a Jounin and my mom is a medical shinobi at the hospital. Though to be honest both of them keep to them selves so even saying that no one knows who they are." He smiled and gave a small laugh after saying that pausing to think over his thoughts. "I don't really know what I want to do with my life career wise to be honest. I know i just gave the whole happy about taking time speech and don't me wrong I'm glad I did but i just don't know what i want. I was thinking about going to the Kage tower to see if i can find a sennin and ask them about their career paths and why they chose it." He paused for a second then asked her respectfully "Mitsuha-san, are you a Jounin and if so why did you choose your path?"

He stood there and wondered. Why choose the path you did or better yet, was it chosen for you by others influence?

Mitsuha would listen intently as Yomoko would speak. So he was indeed part of the Main branch and is a chunin. And from how he talks, he has been a Chunin for quite some time, taking time and experience over rank. Which is actually good. She wonders if maybe she rushed too fast into becoming a Head Jounin, but in the end, she has convinced herself that she has done this for the future of the branch.

Listening more, Yomoko would go on to talk about how he doesn't really know what he wants before asking her if she was a jounin and why she chose the path she is on now. Nodding, the girl would say, "Head Jounin. As for why I chose the path I am on... It is rather complicated at first look. When I was an academy student, I was a shy mess. I could barely look at someone and talking was an achievement in of itself. When I became a genin... My mind wasn't in the right place... I had hurt someone who wanted to be my friend. In all honesty, it wasn't until I had achieved Chunin rank that... well I learned of the passing away of one of my teammates. Her spirit tasked me with talking with people that were close to her. Experiencing what I had seen, how they reacted... Something in me changed that day. The part that wanted to do better and help people."

Mitsuha would pause before going on, "I have helped teach the students and Genin in my own way. Not exactly easy teachings, but I expect the most out of them so that they would be ready in a worst case scenario. I am more analytical than power and see being part of the Journeymen sub branch of the Main branch as the best one for me. I can both teach the students and genin valuable tactics and stratagems, along with going out on high ranking missions to do what is necessary."

Taking a deep breath, she would continue, "There are two other sub branches for the Main Branch. Konoha's security, which are Leaf Village's main defense team that guards the Gates. While there are a lot of boring times, they would also be the ones to see the most action as in the case of an attack from a rogue or other village ninja. Then there is the Hokage Guard, it would be a small team of elite ninja that are specialized in protecting the Hokage with their lives, often seen as some of the strongest of the Main Branch for being part of that team."

She would look over at Yomoko, "Do any of these sound up your ally?"

Yomoko listened as Mitsuha answered his questions. He smiled and nodded as the conversation went on. Listening and trying to watch her body language to decide on when to add his input respectfully. She's a Head Jounin huh... cool! Maybe I should work towards that? Wait there's sub branches within the branch? Raikage guard? wasn't that the ANBU's job? I mean i guess she's the person to ask. She's a head jounin. He thought to himself as she was explaining things.

"Alright hold up for a second." He said after she was done explaining and asked if they sounded up his ally. "I thought the ANBU's job was the Hokage's guard. If not that wouldn't they be the gate guard or Konoha's security as you called it? If the ANBU aren't doing these jobs and our squads are whats their task?" The Chunin was more confused than when he started and his face visibly showed that as he scratched the back of his head in confusion. Did he miss a class in the academy explaining the difference between of the two. Though he liked the idea of Journeyman for himself. While he hoped she had an answer for him he realized he may not get an answer and that may mean he needs to go find an ANBU himself and ask them. He knew ANBU were ones that worked in the shadows and were also considered elite so what did they do that made the ANBU special. It sounds like the Main branch is taking over the village but not necessarily in a bad way. The information was amazing he was getting, the only issue was it was bringing more questions out than answers to his own personal dilemma. What the heck does he want to do with his life? I need to be more decisive in what i want from life.

Mitsuha would listen as the guy would ask her more questions on the matter, obviously confused on shouldn't it be ANBU for Hokage guard or gate guard before asking her what the ANBU actually do. Mitsuha doesn't really know what the ANBU do really, she mainly focuses on the Main Branch and more so her sub branch that she looks over.

"Well the Gate guard is basically everyone's responsibility, mainly the chunin and up ranks of all the branches. However, it is the Konoha's security of the Main Branch to be the ones to ultimately defend the Gates, and if there ever was a shinobi that went missing or an attack that suggested that a rogue ninja had entered the Village, it is the Konoha's Security to take responsibility of if a thing were to happen. As for the Hokage Guard, well the Main Branch is by far the biggest branch and would of course have an abundance of people in it. Having that much people would bring up the idea of how many of these people would prove to be good fighters, ones that are elite and strong enough to protect the Hokage. But when it comes to the ANBU branch, well I'll be honest with you, I don't know much. But I would assume that they would have a sub branch for surveillance and intelligence gathering and another one for the more elite ANBU that would toe the lines of assassination of powerful figures."

She would lean back on a tree and look at Yomoko, "Sorry that I don't know much about the ANBU and their sub branches. They are usually secretive about all that stuff. Anything else I can help you with?"

He rubbed his chin as he listened. She was definitely experienced and knew what she was talking about in regards to the Main branch. It was clear she knew a lot of the intricacies and different sub branches within their branch, much more than Yomoko knew that's for sure. I guess that's what should be expected of a Head Jounin though. He mulled over her words before answering. "Its all good on the ANBU info. I guess I just misunderstood the duties between the branches. Maybe I should pay a visit to the ANBU sennin or one of their Captains. I don't know what suits me yet. I think I will make an appointment or set a meeting." The day lingered on as they talked. Yomoko stretched his arms over his head and decided it was time to head out. He bowed respectfully to her and smiled. "I can't thank you enough for all of the information and knowledge. I'll be in touch if i have more questions. I really appreciate your time."

Yomoko would start to move away back towards the entrance of the forest and the fence to the village. If she had something else to say he would stop and continue the conversation with her.
