Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

~TO SET THE MOOD~

The party had started out early, the day had been winding down, but the banquet halls was filled once again, lights outside lit the entranceway, even the red carpet led to the main doors leading into the halls, hearty laughters and stomping energetically on the floor, as rowdy as one could imagine. But at first sight one wouldn't think it was the Medical Branch, the more scientific and nerdy of the branches, more professional than the Main Branch and a little less killing (not anymore anyway) than the Anbu.
Large letters on a small sign outside read as following:
CELEBRATIONS FOR
NEW TIMES TO COME!

MEDICAL BRANCH ONLY!
(Past and new!)

Laughter and the clinks of glasses met continuously, an overall merry sensation of a party, all the important big shots of the Medical Branch was invited. Even those that had once been a part had been sent personal invitations to. The room was filled with nurses, doctors, shinobi and surgeons from all across the village, and maybe even some from the rest of the country came to show their respects, and hearty laughters.
Large tables filled out the rooms with chairs as elegant as they come, no expense had been spared, boar as large as a hippo lay on the table with a pumpkin in it's mouth, the table could barely hold it properly as the wood beneath the boar was bent from the sheer weight. It was the second time he had been in the Banquet for semi-enjoyment and not for business.

Alcohol flew freely between all the people at the party.
Smiles were plentiful, this was probably the only event Medical Staff members ever truly let loose.
Keiji had never participated in these parties before, presumably because he was never invited. Raiden wonder why? When the topic of the party was plastered all over the invitations, the departure of the Medical Sennin and the welcome of the joyful and wonderful Daisuke. The most strange thing, Keiji wasn't truly invited, no, he hadn't received an invitation, he had heard rumors of the party, and decided to attend. And when he first stepped in, everyone was silent, staring at him, the sheer contrast of him standing outside and opening the door was terrifying, did they fear Keiji? Did they fear Kushin? Well.. Who wouldn't?

As he stepped in the first seat he saw which was empty was right in the center, closer to the door you couldn't seat and he simply walked in, sat down, and poured himself a drink. No one talked to him, no one nodded in his direction. It was a death trap in and of itself. It took a few minutes after he had seated that things turned to normal, the ones seating next to him had quickly turned their backs to talk to others in their vicinity.

Keiji ignored them and simply took another sip of his cup.
He noted quickly that the more famous and knowledgeable Shinobi hadn't arrived. Neither had the honor guest. This new great Medical Sennin.
Another sip, he sat there by himself, in remorse and frustrations. The sudden immediate departure of his sensei came so abruptly, no one really knew the reason, no one had told him anything, not even his sensei.
And so there he sat, in melancholy, not a word was uttered from his mouth, merely deep breathes escaped his mouth in a gloomy nature. His very essence seemed to encompass the great contrast of the feelings people had about Isaki Kushin. But the thing was, his gloomy and mournful feelings wasn't emanating from the loss of his sensei alone, it was loss in all of itself. His father, mother, little brother, both his closest teachers.
Another sip, all alone, in amidst the greatest party the Medical Branch had ever seen.

Some time had passed since Daisuke was informed about his parent’s death and the grieving process was almost at an end. Spending time in a special section of the canine realm, where time was distorted, only helped him gain more time to deal with their passing. A realm, where time passed by seven times faster than it did in the human world, was very beneficial for him. However much time had passed between the medical branch meeting and the party had been multiplied by seven from Daisuke’s perspective. If it was an hour, then it felt like seven hours to him. If it had been a day, then it felt like a week to him, etc. That, and his path dealing with Daisuke’s anger stage assisted in the grieving process. Currently, the newly appointed sennin was still in his depression stage, but he did his best to hold up a brave front. He did this for no one, but himself. He read somewhere that the head that wore the crown was indeed heavy. Like it or not, he was now in charge of the medical branch and that would not change anytime soon.

So, grin and bear it he would; Fake it until he made, he would. The only thought which brought him comfort was the fact that this news was something that was inevitable. He always knew that he would have to accept this fact at some point in time. If his parent's death did not occur now, then it would have occurred a decade from now...two decades from now. Such was the rite of passage, for a child to bury their parents and honor their memory by procreating and passing down their parent’s teaches to a new generation. In his mind, there was no deeper rock bottom for him to fall into and so things couldn't get any worse for him. In fact, the only way he saw was up from that point on. Yes, he did not have to like it, but it was the truth. That truth was depressing in nature, but Daisuke viewed it honorable.

Now, there was a party being thrown for the medical branch and he had been invited. Every bone in his body wanted to remain at home, but Hoshi would have none of it. In the canine realm, the chief spent long enough either mopping around in isolation or having his path express his anger through violence against earth formations. Now was the time to be around friends and coworkers; to surround his self with those that cared for him…or at least liked his company a little bit. Hoshi and he made their way into the banquet hall, all the while Daisuke attempted to persuade Hoshi to take him home. Upon entering the hall, one man stuck out like a sore thumb within the crowed room. Daisuke’s attitude was then replaced with empathy and regret. He had something to say to Keiji and he planned to say it before the festivities got underway.

He greeted those around him as he made his a way to Keiji while momentarily ignoring the wonderful decorations and food that had been prepared. He hoped, in doing this, not to draw much attention to him despite his new position. An unrealistic expectation to be sure, but he had to try. He sat near the loner and spoke quickly. He cut out all pleasantries this time around to circumvent any further unintentional insults.

"I apologize for my actions. I was careless when last we spoke. I went over your file afterwards. You have my deepest sympathies and condolences." He said this not in an attempt to kiss up to Keiji, but to promote solidarity between the two shinobi. " I can imagine how you feel. Not too long ago, I received word that my parents had perished back in Mist. They froze to death before they could evacuate. Never got a chance to say goodbye." he continued, not quite sure why he was spilling his guts to Keiji. He barely spoke to Hoshi about it and he didn’t even inform his student, Junko, yet. Perhaps it was because he knew Keiji could relate, better than anyone else at the party probably. With his parents, his best friend, and his sensei gone, Daisuke had no one from his childhood left. Only his student and his canine companions remained. That was better than nothing, without a doubt. If anyone would approach Daisuke, he would smile and try to be friendly, but in truth his sorrow would only grow for the remainder of the party.

[spoilername="IC letter sent to Kogami Ayumu"]Kogami-sama, Ayumu-sama, Ayumu-san kun,

I hope your days have been treating you well. I recently have come to know that there would be a get together for Kaguya Daisuke-sama’s recent rise to sennin-ship within the medical branch, and I was wondering if you would like to be my date could possibly accompany me? If you are too busy, that is fine. I know the life of a Sennin is always a busy one. Here is my address if you would like to pick me up… or I guess we could meet at the event. Whichever you prefer. Oh, and attire just says that you have to wear clothes, so. Whatever you feel is best would suffice.

Love Sincerely,
Higa Kahako[/spoilername]

A small jingle from a light pink purse. That was all one would hear when she shifted again, waiting on the patio outside her current home. ‘Maybe I dressed up too much?’ she thought. Kahako tried to brush some of her hair behind her ear. It lasted for maybe five seconds before slipping back and framing her face. The get together seemed like a casual affair for those who invited her. But it seemed like a good idea since they were celebrating Daisuke’s promotion to sennin. It also seemed like a good idea because…

A sincere hue of pink colored her cheeks and a shy smile crept upon her face. This would be the first time the both of them would be seen together in public. Well… officially… She checked her kimono again. Everything seemed to be in place… hopefully her obi was tied tightly enough…. Maybe she should have put her hair in a bun? Maybe he decided that he wasn’t going to come. Would she have to go to the party alone now? Maybe she should just go back into her normal clothing, it seemed like it was going to be casual anyway…

Kahako was of half the mind to turn and head back inside before the gate leading to the back of Kitsune mansion creaked open, alerting her to the arrival of her escort for the evening. When their eyes met, she gave him a dazzling smile, stepping down and meeting him along the path. “Good evening, Ayumu…sama,” she said, stumbling over what title to give him. “Shall we go?” She asked simply, leading the way to the banquet hall.
---------------
From the sounds that emitted through the open door, it seemed like a lot of people had already arrived. The light that poured outside cascaded over the couple as they approached the entrance. Kahako paused and took a deep breath… ‘Okay… this is it….’ She thought to herself. On the way there, she had the urge for Ayumu to take her arm, but he maintained a reasonable distance from her all the way here. Not wanting to come into the room awkwardly, Kahako brushed her arm slightly against his as they approached. “Oh… sorry,” she said with a nervous laugh and a blush. She looked down again, trying to brush her hair behind her ear again and failing. “I guess we should go in now…?” Raiden, she was so embarrassed. Why was she so embarrassed?

A letter from a certain individual reached Ayumu's desk at the Sileo perhaps twenty minutes after it had been dropped off for him by a certain Med-nin. Usually personal correspondence for the Sennin went through some checks before it reached him, but he had been buzzed at his desk about the person who was delivering it and upon hearing her description gave the go ahead to have it brought directly to him. An ANBU entered the room and handed the letter filled envelope to Ayumu who immediately began unfolding it to read it.

His eyes scanned quickly through the words written by Kahako. He smirked as he read the crossed out sections which could still be read through the lines, shaking his head. She was certainly someone who had trouble being honest with her feelings at times, or at least she had trouble being forthcoming with them. 'Goodness, Kahako, call it what it is,' he thought, chuckling until he read the last line. She had clearly marked out the four letter L word, there was no hiding that. His face felt hot as he looked down and folded the letter up quickly and stuffed it into an open drawer of his desk. He cleared his throat and began writing on a form sitting on his desk trying to avoid the curious glances of ANBU present in the room.

--The Day Of--

Ayumu looked up at the obnoxiously large manor he was nearing now, and shook his head. 'That Kitsune... who needs a house that big? It's just showy,' Ayumu thought before turning his attention to the smaller guest house which Kahako was occupying. Even it was probably larger than it needed to be. As he reached the gates, he pushed lightly to test them. They weren't locked or barred and opened when he gave a little more of a push creaking open. Taking a few more steps he turned to the guest house to find his date waiting for him. She smiled radiantly as she approached and Ayumu smiled gently in response, noticing that she chose to use the "-sama" title that many were using to address him these days.

"Kahako, no -sama, okay? I don't want you treating me differently," he corrected her which probably prompted a bashful response in which she might or might not use the same honorific anyway. As she asked if he was ready he nodded and allowed her to lead the way to the party, the location of which he was not privy to. It wasn't terribly long before they arrived at the banquet hall in which the party was being held. Out front a red carpet led to the main event and a sign quite clearly stated that celebration was for the Medical Branch only. "I wonder how they'll feel about the ANBU Sennin crashing the party," Ayumu said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.

As they were about to enter, Ayumu felt her arm brush not so subtly as she might have thought against his. She apologized and looked down, brushing stray hairs behind her ear which resisted and fell back across her face. 'Good lord, she's so cute,' he thought, almost in disbelief. He chuckled as she suggested they go in. "Just a second," he said before hooking his arm around hers. "Now we go in," he said, pushing the door open without giving her any time to react. It was loud inside with much talking and laughter, drinking abound. There were far too many people wearing lab coats for Ayumu's tastes, but he guessed that was a Med-nin thing. There was a feast for the ages laid out for the guests, something Ayumu was sure he would be taste testing soon.

Daisuke, the next Sennin, was in attendance, naturally. Ayumu knew of him as a fellow Sennin, though he hadn't had any time to talk to the man at any length. Perhaps he would have the chance tonight, but he was mostly looking to Kahako to lead the way tonight. This was her branch's party. "Well, anybody you'd like to speak to here? I'm just tagging along," he said to Kahako, feeling slightly out of place.

OOC: Sorry for the filler post. I think its safe to assume that the others aren't coming. Still, 4 out of 8 isn't bad.

Daisuke felt a bit better getting his feeling off his chest, as one might expect. Keiji’s silence made it easier to explain his current emotional situation. As he paused a moment, he realized that Kushin never even said goodbye or informed the former chief of his decision to leave for a while. Then a moment of clarity overwhelmed him. If Kushin didn’t say his farewell to his successor, then perhaps he didn’t say farewell to his student either. "Oh no. Keiji...did you know he was leaving? Did Kushin tell you anything? If he didn’t, then", he thought trying to understand Keiji a bit more. If his assumption, that Keiji’s master simply left without saying goodbye, was correct then it made perfect sense that he might not be in the mood to talk. Especially in an environment where other co-workers were overjoyed to see Kushin go. Daisuke was sure that Kushin had his reasons, however. It was Kushin's duty as the former sennin.

While Daisuke could appreciate that the keys to the medical branch were left to him, this is not what he wanted deep in his heart. In the past, it was true that Daisuke desired power not for his self, but for the sake of the village and now he had attained that power through years of hard work and dedication. It was almost an obsession really. He believed that the ends justified the means because he viewed it as his duty. It was his duty as a cloud resident, as a ninja in general, and as a man, to protect what he held most dear to him. Over the last fifteen years he spent as a resident of cloud, he had come to master one of the most vicious bloodlines to date, over a hundred jutsu from various elements, a kinjutsu, and a few curse seals. All the while obtaining S-rank status, two summoning contracts, and now the title of sennin. Oddly enough, none of this power managed to do anything really. It did not save his parents, stop his predecessor from leaving, nor fill the void he currently felt in his heart, but he had to push forward as it was his obligation to do so. His duty as a ninja, as a man, and as a sennin.

Duty was the reason he accepted the responsibility and for that same reason, he would go on to fortify relationships between the other branches as best he could. First he needed to start with the relationships in his own branch. The crowd had seemed to give the royal highness of the hounds a bit of privacy while he spoke with Keiji. Hoshi would spot Kahako and her guest and inform whisper in his master’s ear. Daisuke would turn and wave them over with a smile. It was his job to secure relationships and not to allow his personal issues to interfere with his work. To do so as a sennin, ... it was his...well you know by now.

In silence he sat, contemplating on how best to cut his own wrist, maybe his throat, or heck maybe just slicing ones own eyeballs out would be the more appropriate way. The blood, dripping from his bloodied, tarnished body, his soul and mind wandered off into the deepest of the empty catacombs inside ones mind, endless wandering around in circles as the rooms around oneself would grow smaller, smaller, and smaller until the last method of pushin forward was crawling alone through a tiny crevice, the very stone pushing against the skin and bones of the body, breaking the body down from legs, to waist, to torso, to arms, it wouldn't hurt, the pain couldn't be found or felt, it was simply the mere image in ones mind, everything pushed together bit by bit until the last thing there was a sole whitened eyeball, the walls maintaining pressure as the little ball of goo was squished, and suddenly splash! All that was left was a bloody mess.

As his mind did this wandering his surroundings had blurred away until the last few voices of Daisuke repeated in his mind, he turned, made a relaxed, but fairly fake smile, "Thank you," he said in a comforting tone. Leaning from his chair he reached his arms over across Daisuke in a rather surprising mellow way, and leaned in for a quick, but tight hug, he spoke quietly in his ear, "I'm sorry for your loss, here is the hug I never received when the same happened to me." He tightened a little, "I'm so, so, sorry.."

As he released the hug a shout came from the other end of the room "Oy! Are you two lovebirds done soon or are we gonna be drinking with tears in our drinks!?"
Practically everyone had turned their gaze at the two at the moment, Keiji didn't care, and presumably Daisuke didn't either as suddenly the doors swung open and the first thing one would notice would be the tall handsome Anbu Sennin, quickly followed with the Med-nin Kahako at his side, holding arms together no less.

The crowd stared in awe, not only did Kahako appear, the student under Shinrya Kitsune the most talented Alchemist of Kumo make her approach, but she did so accompanied by presumably the most handsome of all the bachelors of Kumogakure, the ANBU Sennin himself. Among the crowd whispers could be heard "Seriously?", "Is.. That?..", "Woah.." One could only imagine their surface thoughts, presumably something along the lines of "Shit, is Daisuke going to continue Kushin's legacy with keeping a close companionship with the Anbu? Usually him and the Anbu went together like bees and honey.. When they had enough pollen, or something like that.. Gods if I know which analogy fits best! They were tight, okay?"

Keiji didn't pay much heed to the drama or the people talking, as they quickly took back to their own discussions, drinking, and a strange combination of both.
Looking at his Daisuke already waving them over Keiji did the extra deed, he quickly turned around, poured 3 glasses, filled up his own, handed one to Daisuke, and held the three other drinks, his own in one, and the other two in another hand. "Let's go welcome my riv- I mean my old friend, and her newfound friend there, shall we?" Nudging his Sennin compassionately. Getting up from his lone chair he started walking over to them.

"Ka-ha-koooo!" He said in a light, upbeat tone. His entire form and character had switched from depressive loner to sad outcast and now happy-go-camper. A weird mix if one would care to read between the lines.
Bowing elegantly in front of them both as he held the two drinks in his palm, his Taijutsu training, although hard, difficult and tiring did come in handy for these kinds of social dextrous manevours.
Presumably after they had grabbed their individual drinks he would stand up tall again, and look upon Kahako, "Care to introduce us to your handsome friend?" He asked in a joking curious manner, practically speaking for himself as well as the Medical Sennin at this point as he didn't let Daisuke speak before him.

Although assuming, but not intending to, his attitude would probably be the most upsetting part about him for Kahako, as she usually has exhumed a disliking towards Keiji when he gets like this, and probably because she believed him to be the bragging sort, I mean, who wouldn't be a bit upset over the guy who seemed like the more relaxed and slacker ended up doing practically everything better than her, and not to mention becoming the student of the then Medical Sennin, it does carry some validity. And Keiji was not intending on showing Kahako the real side of Keiji's inner turmoils, at least not yet.

If her head could have exploded, Kahako was sure she reached max boiling point when Ayumu wrapped her arm around his. She wanted it, that was certain, but as soon she was physically touching him she realized that it was a very, very, very bad idea. But she would have no time to protest or pull away, because as soon as she could move her limbs again, they were already in the banquet hall.

It was like plunging herself into freezing water. The silence in the room at their appearance made her want to jump out of the room just as quickly as she was forced into it. “Why are they all staring at us?” she whispered more to herself than anyone else. Just oh so slightly, she stepped closer to the man at her side. Was it really that odd that she came with a date? When Ayumu asked her if there was anyone she wanted to talk to, she hesitated before talking. “Well… if Daisuke-sama is here I would like to say hello. The last time I saw him I was called away suddenly and unable to get a chance to speak with him.”

No sooner had she spoken when she caught the friendly wave of the new medical Sennin. “Ah! There he is!” She said happily, waving back with a light smile. There were still a few eyes on the two, but it wasn’t as nearly awkward as it was when they first entered. “I see Hoshi-sama is with him as well, like always,” She giggled. It had been far too long since she’d actually spoken to the man, and aside from Kitsune he was one of the few superiors she wasn’t completely terrified of. Her true smile wouldn’t last long though…

"Ka-ha-koooo!"

Every muscle immediately tensed at the grating, three syllable word that was her name. Well, not from her name, but from the voice that said her name in such a… cheery fashion. “Keiji-kun!” Kahako said with a masked smile. Ayumu might have picked up on the falsetto in her voice, but to anyone else Kahako would seem as equally as happy to see her peer as she was Daisuke and Hoshi. She accepted the drink when the three of them approached the couple. “Why thank you, Keiji-kun,” She accepted graciously. “This is Kogami Ayumu-kun. The current ANBU Sennin.” She took a short sip of her drink. Alcohol… glorious, intoxicating spirits. She was going to need this if she was going to have to deal with him tonight. “Ayumu-kun, This is Suzaku Keiji, a current peer of mine.” She took a longer sip while the two became more acquainted with each other. “And this,” she said directing his attention to the other two. “Is Kaguya Daisuke-sama and his companion Hoshi-sama. The guest of honor, you could say.” She ended with a smile. “It is good to see you both again, truly it is.”

In all honesty, she didn’t particularly hate Keiji. It was the lack of seriousness he took in their profession that she hated. That and he never seemed to fail at somehow rubbing his success in her face. Sure he was the one and only protégée of THE Isaki Kushin. And yes, he did have a higher level of medical knowledge, but their skills had yet to be compared in the heat of battle. How they supported their teammates was when everything mattered. As far as Kahako was concerned, Keiji was a bookworm with depressive streaks. Not to mention his so called ‘people’ skills were deplorable. Vapid at best, really…

Junko stood dripping of water, wearing only a towel at his waist, rubbing his finger tips through his wet hair. Steam still rising from his body from his magnificent shower he finished moments ago. Looking in his closet full of suits he cared dearly about. Junkos face was puzzled. "Damn It, what should I wear for this special occasion exactly?" Junko thought as he removed his towel from his waist to dry off his entire body. "Wow! My Sensei is the new Sennin of the medical branch. Im still getting use to the idea. Im proud and happy for him tho, even if he isn't!" Junko thought as he grabbed an outfit towards the end of his closet.

"A special night, causes for a special attire! For my Sensei! No, for Family! This will be the first time I wear this suit" Junko said to himself as he began dressing himself appropriately and in a timely manner. Putting on his black jacket as a finishing touch, Junko stood wearing a white dress-shirt covered by a dark green vest, with dark green pants to match, with black dress shoes. Lighting a cigarette and grabbing his katana he went almost no where without, Junko exited his small apartment. Stepping out, the air was great. "Tonight will be a goodnight!" Junko thought as he vanished, still playing with his Seikon abilities when ever he could.

Skipping through time and space had it's perks, a simple image of unbelievable speed. Junko arrived at the party doors in a matter of minutes. Junko hadn't been around much, constantly on mini missions and doing medical work, so he wouldn't be surprise if everyone seen him as a ghost from the past if anyone even recognized him, besides Daisuke. Afterall, Junko had been growing as time passed to and the only one that has watched Junko really grow was Daisuke. This event, was much more then just support and celebration to the new medical branch sennin. It was Supporting and showing love to family for Junko.

Walking in, people would notice the katana and would probably question it's purpose at a celebration event, but Junko had his own way of doing things and if anyone understood, it would be his sensei. They haven't had any quality time in a minute, but Junko didn't mind because he knew the time would be made up in due time.

Noticing the crowd with the plethora of medical shinobi, Junko put on his smile, ready to enjoy the celebration. Fixing a personal drink, before noticing Daisuke with Keiji and a lovely couple. "Keijis here, haven't seen him since The first few weeks I returned from training outside the village. well, time too greet and meet!" Junko thought Walking over too the small group. "Greetings everyone! How are you lovely people doing tonight? Hope I'm not interrupting." Junko said in a pleasing tone as he held his smile.

Ayumu was not fully prepared for the amount of jaw-dropped staring that the two of them got when they entered. He was the Sennin so it was common for some to drop a glance in his direction on the streets, but this was a bit intense. To be fair, he didn't do a whole lot of public appearances like this. They probably weren't expecting to see the ANBU Sennin at their Medical Branch party and especially not accompanying Kahako. Kahako whispered a question as to why they were all staring. Ayumu chuckled sheepishly. "Maybe they don't appreciate an ANBU at the Med-nin party?" he suggested, though he knew that was not the real reason. Fortunately, it didn't take long for them all to return back to their merriment and the feeling of a hundred eyes on the couple to disperse. Kahako subsequently suggested that they find Daisuke, the new Medical Sennin, to say hello. There was little time to consider that before the two of them received a more direct kind of attention.

The voice sounded familiar but it was not until Ayumu turned to see Keiji approaching that he recognized the man. His identity was confirmed as Kahako said his name in response, though Ayumu couldn't help but hear something strangely false about that enthusiasm. He glanced at her briefly before looking back at Keiji. The man and him had met for a brief time during a mission undertaken mostly by the Medical Branch regarding an outbreak of a mysterious illness. He would not likely remember the meeting unless he was very good with names. Only Ayumu's first name had been used and he had been wearing a mask for the entire mission so long as he wasn't alone. From Ayumu's memory, he had been a bit brash with the villagers but he was very capable all the same. Regardless, he had come bearing drinks and that made him alright in Ayumu's book. Ayumu took the glass that was offered to him as Keiji bowed. It was quite the party trick to manage the balance of the drinks so well while bowing down. Ayumu wasn't quite certain why he was bowing, however.

"Thanks," he said briefly before Keiji asked to be introduced. Ayumu couldn't help but smirk slightly as he took a sip of his drink to hide it. "But Keiji-kun, we've already met,' he thought just before Kahako formally introduced them, but not without stopping for a drink in the middle of it. Curious, that. "It's good to meet you," Ayumu said offering his hand for a shake. That done, he turned to Daisuke as Kahako introduced the two of them. Ayumu knew who he was and he likely knew who Ayumu was. The two of them were Sennin, even if Daisuke had just been made such. "Good to be formally introduced, my fellow Sennin. I hope you don't mind an ANBU at your Medical party... I'm really just here as Kahako's +1," he said facetiously. He was sure neither of them really minded, at least he hoped not.

"How are you adjusting to running your branch? I know it was sudden... it seems that it always is these days," Ayumu asked, recalling how he was so suddenly made Vice Commander of ANBU and then a short time later was made Sennin. The event in the Main Branch with Masao's passing were all quiet sudden as well. It seemed a Sennin was not destined to simply retire these days. Somewhat concerning when you were a Sennin. It was a wonder there were those out there that actually dreamed of obtaining the position. The Raikage seemed like a much safer job by comparison. Shin had been Raikage for quite some time now and there seemed no reason that wouldn't continue for a long time.

A few moments later a new body approached. A well dressed man carrying a sword at his side joined the conversation. While others might have found the weapon at his hip odd, Ayumu felt as though they were kindred spirits in a way. In case nobody had noticed, Ayumu was also carrying his trusty Grand Commander's Saber on his hip. His suit had a special loop tailored into it just for that purpose. He was almost never seen without the weapon. Even if he was, there was almost certainly a weapon concealed somewhere on his person. In a way, it was simply part of his attire. A part of his attire that could be unsheathed and used to cause mass destruction should any trouble occur. "Not at all," Ayumu said to the newcomer who hoped he was not interrupting. "Can I just say that I appreciate a man that wields a sword? I feel like it's a lost art, sometimes," Ayumu said, regarding the sword that Junko carried. So many these days were Ninjutsu experts. Ayumu had no doubt that Junko had multiple talents, especially as a Med-nin, but a sword was always a bonus in his books.

The sound of glass being struck ever so gently echoed through the Banquet hall.

"Everyone, Everyone!" The voice seemed to dull the rest of them as they everyone by chairs and table sat down, the ones away from their seats remained stationary as they all turned to face the only one standing up by the tables. Settling his tie he stood tall not more than 5 and a half feet, silken light green hair smoothed back in a small ponytail, those having seen him before know this is just his party look, which is by far only there unless he's doing practically anything else. Normally he'd be seen with an open lab coat with a scarf colored the very same as his tie. On his lips a generous smile encroached as he raised a reached down after his glass and began lifting it up.

"Now that the main guests are here, let's all hear it for Daisuke-sensei and his pupil Junko-san!" "HEAR, HEAR!" the crowd cheered as they emptied their cups and hastily began filling them up again.
As the glasses were refilled hastily, leaving much wine and alcohol spilt on the wooden floors and wooden tables, the man continued.
"And let's not forget the esteemed ANBU Sennin has graced us with his visit, thanks to the lovely Kahako-chan!" "YEAH!" The crowd cheered once again right before they emptied yet another cup.
As he remained still standing they all quickly refilled their cups yet again, leaving many thoughts to traverse to the possibility of everlasting stains to appear the next morning unless it was cleaned.
"It would also appear that our dear Hyoujin hasn't made a show, neither has numerous other guests, but let's not let good drinks go to waste! One more for the missing!" a small pause after he had spoken the last word. "Mednins! The missing Mednins!" "RIGHT, RIGHT! HEAR HEAR!" the majority of the crowd shouted. Practically everyone drank their cups empty yet again.
Quickly the man that had first stood up, plummeted his butt down in his chair again as he shouted: "ON WITH THE PARTY!", "HEAR, HEAR!" a small crowd over in the corner shouted back as they bottomed their cups again as the only ones in the end.

---------------------

"Great to meet you too." He said acknowledging Ayumu. "Wait. You seem familiar," he said slowly as he processed the data in his head, you could practically see the wheels turning in his head until suddenly his eyes widened. "Wait a second, Oh, Kahako-chan, so you acknowledge me as your peer?" He poked fun at her right away as soon as he saw the option. "And here I thought I would be your underling at this point." He continued smiling brightly only furthering his personality trait in their eyes as being a bright and positive individual, despite what had happened.
For Keiji he felt as if it shouldn't concern them what he thinks deep down, how his depressive, anxiety issues with the whole scenario is slowly playing out in his mind, making his hands have small jerks, which he quickly ceases as he moves his hand behind himself to calm his nerves. "Well, I'm assuming more might show, so keeps your cups at hand." a cheeky smile grew on his lips before he sipped from his own.

Letting Daisuke speak for a minute, as Keiji stayed quiet and listened in.

From the side a sleeking slurping little vip- I mean a dastardly looking bright guy approached the group, Keiji turned and eyed him for a second until he recognized Junko, they had seen each other not too long ago at the meeting, although not interacting, even the slightest, but he acknowledged him all the same. Not as an equal, but more of an understudy. One might argue now Junko would be taking the stage he himself had been in before. The student of the Sennin, a grand title if there ever was one. Chances were it might either be Junko, Keiji or Kahako, heck or them all, that would be next in line for a promotion. Even though Junko was an MiT, it shouldn't be long before he would be the same rank as Keiji and Kahako.
"No, no" He said in tune with Ayumu as he replied to his question.
"So," He paused, letting Ayumu speak first, and before letting Junko answer Keiji bowed his head slightly in minor respect.
"I hope you're doing good Junko-kun, keep off the alcohol, I hear these guys," he waved his arm pointing at the other party attendants with his thumb.
"Are heavy drinkers, so don't go getting into any drinking games with em'" he ended the sentence in a slight accent to try and keep the talk at a mellow and social stage.

Suddenly the sound of clinking glass began and the whole party turned into a basic drinking game.
Listening to the words and the replies Keiji only cheered slightly and emptied his cup once and then made his way over to a table with a large pitcher, he quickly grabbed it, poured his cup full, and made his way over the rest as the others began to fill their cups quickly.
"Refills?" He asked as he approached them. Filling up the cups that was taken in front of him quickly as the speech continued.

Keiji didn't cheer the second time, nor did he finish his drink instead simply took a good sip and did so again and again, filling his cup again as well as anyone whom might place their cup in front of him.

OOC:
[If anyone contributes and finishes their cups at least two times in quick succession,
I'd like to see them do a few dice rolls to determine if they get tipsy or not.
And if they do, roleplay it out~ Just for a little extra fun!]

The party started to get underway with more food and beverages being pasted around. The music played loud enough, the people chatted even louder, and all the while Daisuke felt his sorrow growing ever more. Truly there was nothing worse than being amongst one’s peers and feeling utterly alone, but alas there was hope. The invoice leader’s apologize was heard after all and a quick gesture from Keiji managed to lift his spirit ever so slightly. A wave later prompted Keiji’s generosity in providing drinks for all. Before he could move, Keiji had already made his way towards the two new guests. Daisuke followed suit with a beverage in hand, of course. “Thank you.” he said. Keiji’s behavior struck Daisuke as a bit strange, but he knew there was some reason for it. So happy…so quickly after Kahako arrived. Perhaps he and Kahako are really good friends…or maybe, he thought as he awaited Kahako’s answer.

Daisuke spoke, expressing his delight that she could make it to the party. The honored guest would return his attention towards the other sennin as she made both he and Hoshi’s introduction while extending his hand to presumably shake Ayumu’s. He knew of Kahako’s guest, though this was the first time he ever met him in person. There was a brief period of time where Ayumu and he were in the same place, but it was during a medical mission and his identity, except his first name, was concealed. He found it slightly amusing how two people could live in the same village for years and never met once, given that they were both shinobi, but Daisuke was a shut-in and he knew not of Ayumu’s daily route.

Observing the party around him, the invoice acknowledged that he might have emotionally felt like fecal matter on the inside, but knowing that he had peers that would come out to celebrate his promotion meant a lot to him. Though, he would jump at the chance to be demoted when Kushin came back. Ayumu posed a question regarding Daisuke’s new arrangement to which he responded, “Not at all. You’re more than welcome to join in the festivities.” He would pause a moment before responding to the next question. “You’re absolutely right. It was sudden and it’s kinda scary, but I’ll manage. I can’t lose with people like Keiji, Kahako, Junko, and Hoshi backing me up. Thanks for coming.” From his peripheral vision, Daisuke would spot his student looking as sharp and impressive as a freshly forged blade. He would turn to hug Junko as he and Ayumu’s exchange and say, “Hey, I’m glad you made it. You’re looking good, man.

I hope you three are hungry. We have a table over here. Lots of great food.” Hoshi said, gesturing the direction of their table to the rest of the group. Hoshi gave a quick and serious looking nod to Daisuke and from that gesture; he knew why Hoshi made that suggestion. It would soon be time to discuss some matters. “ So if you don’t mind my asking, how did you and Kahako-san become acquainted with each other?” he added, asking Ayumu and Kahako. He'd make an inquiry regarding Keiji and Kahako's relationship next. While Daisuke did not prefer it, the invoice realized that his new position would require him to become even more accustom to office politics. Certain relationships would need to be maintained, in order for things to continue running smoothly.

During his short time in the office, Daisuke became aware of several things that had begun to occur in the medic branch due to Kushin’s absence. Unbeknownst to those people, Daisuke had a message for them. A message he would spread through action, not words. To those few medics who had made several small unauthorized deposits of research funds into their personal accounts, to those faceless medics around him who resubmitted previously rejected proposals under the assumption that the new guy would not notice, and to those people who might have wanted their hands greased in exchange for their zipped lips regarding any unethically experiments conducted in the past, he had a message for them all. He did not like that side of the business, but he would do what was necessary. He would not be bullied or blackmailed, though he could be reasoned and negotiated with. Though it would not occur tonight, any who had dared to use such methods as bribery, blackmail, or bullying to express their will were in for a reckoning. “Come on. Let’s eat.

"Thank you all. I appreciate the support. Kushin-sama was... is a great man. A better man than I in many ways. I’m aware that I’m a invoice, but please learn to rely on me until his hopeful return. As your new sennin, I promise to do what is best for the medical branch and improve my medical skills to be worthy of the position. Now let’s party!" he said, taking the opportunity to give a quick speech after the party planner had appeared and hyped up the party goers even further. Food was consumed, co workers were dancing and now both Hoshi and Daisuke were participating in a drinking game. They downed one each, refilled their cup and dog bowl, downed another beverage and refilled their cups once more. Sadly enough, Daisuke’s inexperience with alcohol would get the best of him tonight. This was not the place for him, a man who preferred to drink light alcoholic beverages on occasion and had never touched hard liquor before.

Kahako’s smile became a shade more vacant while those around Keiji and her spoke. “Careful Keiji-kun,” she said, making herself appear to be teasing him back, “with the plans I hope to have for the Sentou Henkan, you may actually end up calling me boss before the year is out.” She finished her remark with a little wink letting it be known that she was joking. If she were the type, she might have stuck her tongue out at him as well to complete her fake ‘I am teasing you’ statement. She took another sip of her drink, silently listening to those around her speak for another second more. In her mind’s eye, she needed a moment to calm her anger at the boy down.

Keiji, as always, struck a pretty painful nerve. She had hoped to be further advanced in their field by now. No, she didn’t hope… she needed to be further advanced in her field by now. She did not strive for ultimate power in the medical branch, but she did have many personal reasons for wanting to be promoted. She squeezed her glass a little tighter. No, now was not the time to dwell on that thought.

As a young, sharp-looking man approached, Kahako turned her attention to him. “I do not believe we’ve met before,” She let go of Ayumu’s arm, giving a customary bow in greeting. “Junko-san was it? I am Higa Kahako.” She couldn’t help but give an amused smile at Ayumu's fascination with swordsmanship. If he asked her why, then she would simply shake her head and say, “I’ll tell you later.” He would probably not appreciate her telling everyone there that she found this little quirk of his adorable. When Daisuke complimented the people around him, she couldn’t help but return to her true smile, showing her own appreciation for such a kind statement.

“Oh, I am starved!” Kahako vocalized following the canine at the mentioning of food. She stayed close to Ayumu, taking a seat between Hoshi and he. She should have expected the next question, the very reason she invited Ayumu instigated it in the way she wanted it to. However, that did not stop the heavy blush from rising to her face. “As many in our profession meet someone new, Hoshi-sama. I was his attending Mednin after his mission. That was a few years ago if I do recall.” She was careful not to admit too much to those who listened. Indeed she was on the clock when they met, but not all of the events that transpired that evening were professional. That was the last thing she wanted Keiji to know. She turned to Ayumu, silently inviting him to take part and fill in blanks he felt was necessary. “Far before you were ANBU sennin, most assuredly,” she mentioned, speaking to him directly in a manner that could only be translated as a close relationship, but not outright admitting to it.

But soon the tale-tale clink of glasses would interrupt their conversation. Every time the party planner would have others drink, she raised her glass and cheered in a more demure fashion before drinking with the rest of the room. She quickly filled her cup like others in the room, and shortly after was listening to Daisuke’s own speech with a consistent pink hue splashed across her cream cheeks. She clapped with the others, and once he finally seated himself, slipped her glass towards Keiji who was silently refilling glasses to anyone who passed one to him. “As I was saying before Hoshi-sama—ah, thank you Keiji-kun—,” she accepted the glass back and set it down, barely even turning her head to the Hyuuga, “Ayumu-kun and I have met quite often after that. Actually, just before Kushin-sama stepped down, I made a division transfer to the Sentou Henkan in hopes to help the ANBU branch in not only official ventures—as is the original objective of the division—but also…” she paused and looked at Ayumu who was sitting next to her and probably listening. So far, only Kushin and she spoke at length of her plans. She had yet to run it past Ayumu, and odds were Daisuke was not given a heads up when he was promoted. “…to hopefully provide psychological relief to our fellow comrades in the ANBU branch. As it may be known, I somewhat deviated from Kitsune-sensei’s expertise while under her tutelage and studied the psychologies and human behavior.” It was here that she paused and became quite quiet. She covered it up by picking up her glass and taking another sip of her drink.

This was the first time Kahako was able to say her sensei’s name since… well since the funeral. The alcohol certainly made it easier to say, but the pain suddenly harder to conceal. She had been among those to attend the miraculous event. Just when she thought that her teacher was dead, crying while standing near the lifeless body of someone she cared for deeply, the woman came back from the dead. She came back only to completely disappear the next day, and Kitsune mansion was ordered to be boarded up along with all of her teacher’s research. Kitsune made arrangements with the last of the staff to maintain the grounds in her absence all before leaving… without a single goodbye to her only student.

Yet once again, this was an emotion that was not needed at the current moment, and so she started her quick mental process of storing it away. He eyes were blank of emotion and her face red while she listened to whomever was talking to her at the moment. Others probably thought she was drunk, when in reality she was only slightly tipsy. For now, the alcohol provided a safe cover for her odd actions and slow recomposure.

Raiden-sama be damned, she was going to enjoy herself this evening. Even if she had to drink to the point that a full on snog-fest with Ayumu sounded like an excellent activity to do in public.

[spoilername="OOC"][Two dice for two drinks. Kahako's liver takes the first one like a champ. The second, however, makes her reach her limit. More tipsy antics to ensue in the next post. Especially if you can convince her to drink more.][/spoilername]

Ayumu was glad to see that Daisuke was not annoyed by his presence, not that he truly expected the man to be. He was also glad to see he felt prepared for the job that he had been pushed into so suddenly. Ayumu definitely knew a thing or two about unexpected promotions. Having people to support him would be invaluable. Ayumu had Haruka, Eru, and Touma. Without them, he doubted he would have made it once Moro was put into a coma leaving him as the new Grand Commander. The newcomer approached and Ayumu complimented him on his sword. The comment to Junko seemed to amuse Kahako somehow. Ayumu cast a questioning glance in her direction, but she declined to comment for the time being. Then, a dog approached and offered to the group to sit at a nearby table. Nobody else found it odd that the dog was talking, so Ayumu tried his best to just play along. He hadn't even had much to drink yet.

"Sounds good. I was promised food, after all," he said, glancing at Kahako who had mentioned earlier that there would in fact be food. He followed Hoshi to the table and sat beside Kahako as the canine asked how they met. Ayumu had to think about it for a moment, but Kahako was quick to respond and remind him instantly. It was the night that the Raikage and the Shogun were held hostage atop the Torre Celeste by Makoro. Masao, he, and others had been there to save the day but he hadn't come out of it unscathed. Kahako removed a crossbow bolt from his shoulder that night. She was correct, it was before he was the ANBU Sennin. He was still a trainee at the time, in fact. It had been a long time since then and he had come far due mostly to those before him paving the way. "Yes, I teased her quite a bit then. I'm surprised she ever wanted to see me again after that," Ayumu said, chuckling as he remembered how flustered she had gotten.

Suddenly, the clanking of a spoon against a glass focused the attention of the room on a man who wished to speak to them all. He called for a round of applause drinking for the new Sennin and his pupil. Ayumu looked around and saw others downing their drinks, Kahako included, so he figured he would do so as well. It burned a little and he really couldn't say that he enjoyed it, but he had partaken in the ritual so hopefully they would accept him. But the drinks were not over it seemed. Others refilled their glasses, so Ayumu followed suit and allowed Keiji to refill his. "Thanks," he said quietly as the man continued. This time the cheers were for Kahako and he. They sure knew how to make a guy feel welcome. He scratched the back of his head bashfully as some of the Med-nin raised their glasses to them and then downed them. During the temporary embarrassment he forgot to drink, but they were quick to come up with another reason. Finally, they raised their glasses to the Missing-nin, or rather the missing Med-nins. Shrugging, Ayumu drank again.

The Medical Sennin gave a short speech of sorts as the other Med-nin finished. He commented on his predecessor being a great man. Ayumu wondered about that. He knew that the man did what he thought was best for Kumogakure. He just... did it in his own special way, so to speak. He asked for them to trust him and promised to do his best for the branch. He then invited everyone to let loose and enjoy themselves. Ayumu applauded with others as his fellow Sennin sat back down. Ayumu's face felt a bit flushed after the drinks, though he wasn't feeling the effects too much yet. It was a sign that if he didn't lay off of the alcohol for a bit he was going to be more than a little buzzed. They sure did like their alcohol, these Med-nin. He would have thought they would be more concerned about ingesting so much of the toxin than the average person. He would have been wrong.

Taking a look at Kahako, Ayumu could see her face had flushed... more so than his own, but she didn't appear to be drunk, which was good. She continued to speak more about their interaction after after their first meeting. It was then that she revealed something she had not spoken to him about before. Apparently she had some other reasons for joining the Sentou Henkan. It was true that ANBU were subjected to a different kind of mental strain that other shinobi weren't, at times. Some of them handled it well, others were forced to leave the ANBU because of the issues that arose from too much mental trauma. They didn't really have much in the way of support for the ANBU members when it came to their mental health. Only the exceptionally strong-minded were able to succeed in many cases. "Well, you'll have to tell me more about that some time," Ayumu said, wondering just what Kahako had in mind.

It was then that he noticed she had gone very quiet suddenly. He realized that she had just brought up Kitsune, whom had more or less died recently only to come back and leave. Ayumu had been relieved to hear that through some odd miracle she had essentially gotten up out of her casket. But she did leave. She was Kahako's sensei, and she died and came back only to leave her behind. Ayumu watched Kahako for a moment before placed a hand on her back in an attempt to be reassuring. He knew she wouldn't want to talk or think about that right now, so he had no intention to call further attention to it. "So what is there to eat here? I'm starving," he said before perusing some of the food set out on the table. There was a basket of buttered rolls that looked and smelled delicious. He quickly snatched one up and took a bite before setting it down on the plate in front of him. "This is delicious, Kahako, try some!" he said while pinching off a bit of the roll. He raised it to Kahako's face level, suggesting she allow him to feed her. This seemed likely to get her mind off of the depressing things... even if she didn't appreciate where it did take her mind.

Upon being accepted into the conversation, Junko received a heart warming hug from his sensei.

"Can I just say that I appreciate a man that wields a sword? I feel like it's a lost art, sometimes"

Junko's eye brows lifted. It was quite interesting to see an individual that showed a passion for swords, But before Junko could respond, Keiji spoke.  "I hope you're doing good Junko-kun, keep off the alcohol, I hear these guys, Are heavy drinkers, so don't go getting into any drinking games with em"

"Thanks. It does feel like an lost art, but it's people like us to keep it alive. The katana was the first weapon I ever used and loved. Your blade seems quite interesting, glad to see that I'm not the only one here wielding a weapon." Junko said, taking a mental note of the encounter, he would surely remember the man in the future.  "I'm doing fine Keiji, learning new things by the day. How about yourself? Thanks for the heads up. I'm a bit of a drinker, but nothing to heavy. I might can handle the game." Junko said, feeling unsure of himself. "The Sennins pupil, a minor title. Seems as if me and Keiji has traded places, but it's quite obvious that experience creates the difference between us." Junko thought smiling, knowing Keiji could teach him a thing or two.

“I do not believe we’ve met before. Junko-san was it? I am Higa Kahako.”

"yes, Please to meet you, same goes for your date. May I say, you two look stunning together." Junko said bowing, looking at the beautiful couple. Within moments, Hoshi arrived, escorting the group to near tables. Providing a question that sparked a new conversation, but most importantly, getting the group a step closer to food!

"Kahako and the ANBU sennin Ayumu, interesting." Junko thought, finding it intriguing that the ANBU sennin was at the  celebration. The clanking of glass soon grabbed Junkos attention. The speaker had everyone to cheer, drinks being downed within moments and refilled within seconds. Junko attended, feeling the burning sensation as he drunk. His body heat gradually rising with each cup. As the event grew hype, Daisuke and Hoshi seemed to be in a drinking game. Junko paid close attention to kahako's conversation, which seemed to cut short. Feeling the slight vibe shift, Junko decided to create a bit of conversation of his own.

"I've been wanting to become part of the Sentou Henkan Division, but assist the Harvesting division as well. I just need more experience with my surgery, think you could help me out Keiji? Maybe, I might get to tag along with the lovely couple here as well! Matter fact, You two love bugs can give me all the advice I need interms of cooperating with the ANBU branch." Junko said, feeling the buzz from drinking.

An unfamiliar feeling began to wash over both Daisuke and Hoshi as they continued to drink their hard liquor, a foreign substance in their bodies. Their game had become increasingly intense as they both had a bit of a competitive streak only when against each other. Call it a mutual respect for one another or a superiority complex they both shared, neither one wanted to forfeit to the other. Their eyesight connected at a passing glance and a staring contest began as well. It was both ridiculous and childish for a new sennin and the former head of k-9 unit private investigations to behave in such a manner, but neither cared how their present company viewed either of them at the moment. They did however, participate in the conversation. Hoshi had been made aware of Kitsune’s absence by Daisuke’s hand so when one of Hoshi’s favorite med-nin became suddenly quiet, he followed Ayumu’s lead in changing the subject.

"Oh, that’s great Kahako-san. Mental health is very important and your compassion is astounding. Daisuke was right about you. You will go on to do great things.", he said before continuing to win the competition. Considering that he had a mouth full of booze, Daisuke simply nodded in agreement. Then the taunting started. “What’s wrong, kitty cat? Can’t keep up!” he said. “Bite me bone head! I’m ahead of you!”, Hoshi replied. If anyone would bother to check, Hoshi would be in the lead.

"Dammit, how am I losing to this furry bastard? Get it together, bone head. Darn! He’s got me saying it now!", he thought as he poured a refill. The new branch leader was so involved in the drinking game that he almost paid no attention to his student. It was then that he heard his pupil express his desire to work interchangeably with both the Sentou Henkan and Harvesting divisions. Well, ask and ye shall receive. He placed his drink down for a moment as he felt it was his duty to advocate for his pupil.

"It would be an honor if you would allow Junko to learn from your organization. He’s dedicated, loyal, and hard working. Please give him the opportunity." he asked bowing slightly at the table towards Ayumu. Forming connections with other branches meant village wide stability in his mind and what better way to work on a bond than having a student learn a few new tricks from another sennin. Junko’s request only proved how similar they were. When Daisuke was first promoted to chief, Kushin came by his office to ask him about the division he’d wish to join. Much like Junko, he expressed his desire to dabble in all three divisions and while Kushin allowed it, Daisuke never took the opportunity to do so. In fact, it was that same day that he meet Kahako. How strange life could be from a retrospective viewpoint.

"Junko, you’re free to join or dabble in whichever division you like. All medical ninja are required to hold a position in two divisions and since all medics have a permanent station in the Youritsu division, you’re all free to choose to switch between the latter divisions at anytime. I’ll do the papppper worrrrrrk" he said as his speech began to slur. The unfamiliar feeling Daisuke could not explain before had become obvious to him now. It was hard to describe at first, but being a medic he could not help but diagnosis his self.

"irregular breathing, increased heart rate and body temperature, slurred speech, slightly blurred vision. All these symptoms could mean...no. It can’t be. Am I...drunk!", he thought as he eyed Hoshi and started up his drinking game yet again. They downed one each, refilled their cup and dog bowl, downed another beverage and refilled their cups once more. They were now on round four and the alcohol began to take its toll, especially since neither of the two idiots bothered to eat something first. All present company would be aware that both Hoshi and he were drinking on an empty stomach and if anyone were to offer them a plate of food or advise them not to drink anymore, they would be ignored. They would not do this out of disrespect, but neither of them wanted to lose.

Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was genuine interest and belief in what the new Sennin stood for, but People were listening closely to Daisuke's words, they were at first disgusted, and annoyed, one was even close to standing up in protest but was quickly pulled down after being whispered something or other to one could only imagine what it was. But quickly they turned to smiling brightly as Daisuke had changed the subject from Kushin to himself and was appearing to be paying close attention. A few nods in agreement here and there, and a nod towards one another.

"HEAR, HEAR!" a few shouted in unison from across the room, another round of cups went with their bottoms pointing up.

And so the true festivities began, the slouching, grouching and munching began from all across the room, the giant boar resting on the center table, so large the table itself was bending due to the weight, a huge pumpkin rested within it's mouth. People who had sat there where Keiji before had sat had stolen his seat, but the people were nice enough to cut huge pieces off it, and began sending the pieces around the table.

The group had sat themselves at the table end, which meant about 10 people sat in between the one furthest in and the center where the boar rested.
In the midst of the staring contest, a large wooden plate was directed towards the table in between the Shinobi, a large bulky pig leg next to the open-mouthed head was placed in the center. Practically staring the sennin. As it was placed the man whom placed it said out loud "The BEST PIECE FOR THE MAN OF THE HOUR!" The men closest whom heard it was smiling brightly and cheered in unison "HEAR, HEAR!" as they cheered and clinked their glasses, drinking their 6-7th round (depending on which you counted)
The pig-head itself was as large as the large as a small boy. The head has had the pumpkin removed, and the boiled tongue sticking out on the side of the mouth, it's dead, cold staring eyes were semi-staring at the the new sennin.

"Sensei! Try the tongue! They're the best part! Oh, and the eyes are as juicy as a blueberry!" a guy dressed in formal attire said out loud sitting nearby the group.

Kahako received nothing but a cocky smile in response to her saying she might become his boss eventually.

As they were directed to the table side his thoughts directed him towards the seat he had lost, a glimpse made it obvious that he'd never get it back as a large bulky man had taken his seat. What kind of man looks like that and is a part of the Medical Branch? I haven't seen him before..

As they all sat down, Keiji took note of the cups and bread pieces spread out across the table, large platters filled with fruit, and dishes from all across Lightning Country, some more exquisite than the rest. Delicious pies, and meaty recipes, boiled, grilled and fried, bread with all kinds of filling. there was obviously no spare to the expenses. Taking note of the subjects people are bring up, he simply sat and listened carefully.

<B>"Yeah, sure, I might be able to teach you something, I'm not really my sensei, but I'm sure I show you something." He said in response to Junko's question.

The story told by Kahako and added to by Ayumu, made Keiji smile brightly from ear to ear, it would appear she wasn't as boring as one might first assume. And skilled at the arts, I mean, she did get her grip on one of the most important people in the entire village. "Haha! You should be careful with her Ayumu-sensei. She knows quite some tricks she learned from her sensei!" He commented as he began to move his hands above his head and slap himself lightly on his shoulder with both hands, signifying SOMETHING KITSUNE DID TO KEIJI. He further hoped to instigate more reactions from her, as he seemed to take much enjoyment out of it.

Keiji hadn't heard much about Kitsune-san. About what happened to him, and frankly, he seemed to care less and less about her, as continually she had only appeared to be in his way when he was trying to accomplish something, the only time she really showed any attention to him was when his eyes first manifested.

Skimming across the table he noticed what was happening between Daisuke and his Contract Beast. He smiled as the two began staring, drinking one drink after another. The table had practically into their battlefield, and as the sudden emergence of the meat was placed in between, Keiji quickly nabbed a piece of the leg lying in the middle of the table and a bread with some kind of brown sauce filling, and began chowing down, and having small sips in between the chewing. "Damn, this is delicious! Everyone! Go ahead, dig in! It's not poisonous!" He said in a hearty laughter right after he had swallowed the second taste.

Kahako blushed heavily before a dazzling smile flitted across her face. “T-thank you, Hoshi-sama” She said before looking down at her lap. Like clockwork, she brushed the side of her hair behind her ear. It would be doomed to fall again in the future…

But it seemed that the red hue was doomed to permanently remain on her face tonight, as two events occurred that left Kahako completely mortified in two opposite ways. "This is delicious, Kahako, try some!" Ayumu said while pinching off a bit of the roll. He raised it to Kahako's face level, suggesting she allow him to feed her. Not even before she could respond (though, rest assured, the blush had already reached critical levels) Keiji called from across the table. Reminding her of an experience she would be much better off forgetting, especially with her teacher gone. When Keiji made the hand motions that he did, Kahako could no longer contain her anger.

If she was sober, she would have never done what she did next. Actually, the next time she WAS sober she would probably consider seppuku for what she did next. But she did it, and for the time being, she would revel in satisfaction knowing that she would not allow Keiji to embarrass her. In a fit of drunken embarrassment and rage, Kahako fully turned to Ayumu, grabbed his wrist with both of her small hands, opened her mouth, and (while matching eyes with her… date) took the piece of roll from his fingers. When her lips came down however, she slightly encased the tip of his thumb with them. She pulled away, mildly surprised, but the none the less confident that she took the piece without once passing out from a high blood pressure.

“You are right, Ayumu-kun, this is delicious,” she said smiling up to him. Kahako turned back to the table. She looked nonchalantly at Keiji, pausing to watch his reaction and debating on whether to comment or not. Her smile grew as delightful and fake as it could ever be. She knew he would have seen it. He was the ever perfectionist Keiji who paid attention to every detail and had the Byakugan to help him. There was no way he wouldn’t have seen it. “By the way, Keiji-kun… How is your health? I hear that if you don’t drink enough fluids, you are prone to unhealthy bodily reactions. Like nosebleeds,” she baited softly as she looked away.

She grabbed at one of the serving dishes before it was passed away, filling her plate up with veggies, breads, and starches. Meat was not going to be on her pallet tonight. The boar was too… life-like for her tastes.

There was conversation all around the table and it was a bit difficult to keep up with it all. He had tried to to feed Kahako a bit of bread to get her mind off of things, but it had backfired a bit. Keiji commented that Ayumu should be careful with Kahako, who had apparently learned some things from Kitsune. There was an inside joke there somewhere, no doubt, and Ayumu was now caught in the middle. Kahako took the bread and a bit more before releasing his hand with a devious smile on her face as she looked up at him. Drunk Kahako was certainly daring. She confirmed that he was correct, and that it was in fact delicious. "...right? Heh, heh..." Ayumu said, laughing a bit nervously as anybody sitting around them could easily have been watching. In fact, Kahako seemed particularly interested in having a certain Med-nin notice. 'Do I want to know what that was about?' Ayumu wondered, shaking his head. Fortunately, there were distractions to be had elsewhere while Keiji and Kahako had their ever so subtle passive aggressive verbal spar.

Junko seemed interested in what Kahako had to say about the Sentou Henkan. It was good to see interest in the group that cooperated with ANBU. The ANBU undertook a number of dangerous missions and the support of the Med-nins in the Sentou Henkan was always invaluable. Daisuke, whom Ayumu had gathered was directly teaching Junko, went so far as to request that Ayumu allow him to learn from the ANBU. Of course, any that would participate in missions with the ANBU would require some training before that could be plausible. If Junko were to go that route, he would learn some things for certain. "I'm glad to see there is plenty of interest in the division. Hopefully the cooperation will be as thriving as ever. The Med-nins of the Sentou Henkan who have cooperated with ANBU have always been top notch. I'm sure Junko will be no different. Even better no doubt, with such a recommendation," Ayumu said in response to both Daisuke and Junko.

Daisuke spoke to Junko, assuring him that he was free to work in the Sentou Henkan before obviously slurring his words. 'Uh oh, Ayumu thought, recognizing that issue quickly. He had spent a decent amount of time hanging around in bars playing cards when he was a bit younger, so the tell-tale signs were quite clear to him. He never drank much in those days either, but fortunately he had a hearty constitution that helped him get by when he did. Daisuke and his apparently alcoholic dog were knocking back their drinks pretty quickly. Ayumu would easily be in the same predicament if he were going at their rate. He, however, had gotten a mug of beer at some point and was in no particular rush to finish it off. It wasn't as though he had been challenged, after all. Meanwhile, Keiji had begun to dig in with a lovely leg. What remained was the head of the boar, which probably seemed appetizing to approximately no one.

"I'll be riiiiight back," he said, standing up and walking away for a moment. He returned with a hunk of meat that actually looked appetizing. Enough for whoever wanted to have some meat that wasn't staring back at them to have some. Ayumu himself grabbed a knife and began attempting to slice up some meat. Unfortunately, the knife was not the sharpest in the drawer. "Stupid thing!" Ayumu grumbled as he used more brute force than cutting edge to slice a piece of meat off. "Forget this. That's not a knife," he said, standing up. He reached for his sword which he drew on the spot. Perhaps the alcohol had lowered his inhibition just a little. "THAT'S a knife," he said, holding up his word before bringing the it down with a thunk into the meat. It sliced clean through like a hot knife through butter, Ayumu stopping the blade at the exact point where the meat ended and the plate began, lest he break the plate.

"Anybody care for some?" he asked as he used to point of his blade to skewer the meat he just sliced and drop it onto his plate. If anybody had taken to staring at him, he would look puzzled for a moment before laughing. "Oh, don't worry. I've never used this one in battle, it's mostly just fancy looking. Still, a damn sight sharper than the butter knives they passed out to cut the boar with," he said, holding up the sword so they could see the razor sharp edge. If anybody actually requested a sword carved piece of boar, he would happily slice them off a healthy piece and drop it onto their plate much the same way he had for himself. He would even be happy to dice it into bite size pieces upon request.

Junko seemed lost as Kahako and Keiji spoke. It was as if they had a private battle that one could spectate, but not understand their attacks. "Inside jokes? It's apparent that not even Ayumu is in on it." Junko thought as he looked at Ayumu's nervousness. Junko laughed a little, it was quite entertaining. Junko seemed to smile much more as the alcohol settled within his system. He wasn't a huge drinker, but he wasn't no stranger to it.

"Junko, you’re free to join or dabble in whichever division you like. All medical ninja are required to hold a position in two divisions and since all medics have a permanent station in the Youritsu division, you’re all free to choose to switch between the latter divisions at anytime. I’ll do the papppper worrrrrrk"

"Thanks sensei!" Junko said with enthusiasm. Junko heard rumors of how ruthless ANBU training was. After all, they are hidden ninja among a village of ninja. Thinking of the future, Junko knew their was still much to learn and master, but was he truly ready to be apart of the ANBU? Of course. Junkos body had become quite warm, especially his stomach, it was as if it was on fire.

"I'm glad to see there is plenty of interest in the division. Hopefully the cooperation will be as thriving as ever. The Med-nins of the Sentou Henkan who have cooperated with ANBU have always been top notch. I'm sure Junko will be no different. Even better no doubt, with such a recommendation,"

Bowing, Junko was quite excited. It was as if the rocky road to success was already carved out. All Junko have to do is take the journey and walk the long road. "I can't wait." Junko thought, ready to train with keiji, his master, and the ANBU branch. Training brought joy, just the thought of it made him grin. Within moments, appetizing food started to maneuver around the table. All the food seemed appetizing to Junko. Some would find it strange, but it would be because they didn't know Junko. Looking at his past, every meal was a blessing and considering what he had to eat In order not to starve, the food on the table was a five star meal. Junko eyes grew as he set his eyes upon the most appetizing meat of his lifetime. Ayumu seemed to struggle with it at first, until he pulled out his saber. Cutting the meat, Junko whole facial expression change.

"Anybody care for some?"

Nervously laughing, Junko quickly denied. "Theirs no telling how many people he has killed with that blade." Junko thought lifting up his drink.

"Oh, don't worry. I've never used this one in battle, it's mostly just fancy looking. Still, a damn sight sharper than the butter knives they passed out to cut the boar with,"

"Then please! Chooop a piece for meee!" Junko said, he seemed hype. His body became more loose. Junko began to chow down, eating the plethora of food set before him. After finishing off a few plates, Junko took his cup and staggered over towards the party attendants table. "Alright bub's... Let's DRINK! keiji-saan! These are the guys correct?" Junko said quite loudly before sitting, challenging the table of drinkers despite keiji's earlier warning.

To those I'm in threads with, I apologize for me absence. Unfortunately, family issues called me away, but I'm back now. My post will be up at my earliest convenience.

IC:

Apparently, both Daisuke and Hoshi had suddenly stopped there drinking game to eat their food. It was clear that it ended in a tie though Hoshi could have taken just one more glass than his master. Hoshi would spare Daisuke the embarrassment and himself the label of a drunk. While the thought of summoning another path to continue the game did cross his mind, Daisuke would not do such a thing. With the wild boar staring him in the face, Daisuke and Hoshi’s eyes would reflect back the look of a predator. A small portion of the boar is what they would eat for now.

"Oh boyoopo! This boSar tongugggge is delickiiiiious." he said, praising the boiled tongue while still slurring his speech. Hoshi saw fit to devour the eyes and nod in agreement to their juiciness. For those who might have thought it a bit strange, Daisuke would assure them that it natural to him now. Living in the canine for a while meant that Daisuke had to ‘go native’. An idiom, it meant that he adopted the mannerisms and way of life of the canine realm and its surrounding environment as it was initially different from one's own. It was at this time that Daisuke became aware of just how extravagant the party truly was. He did hope that this party would not break the bank. He was never much for parties, especially for those that were centered around him, but he had to admit that this event was a bit heart warming. The novice grinned happily after learning of Keiji’s willingness to instruct Junko in the field of surgery. It felt good to see his pupil requesting aid in learning an unfamiliar field. It showed comradery; a union needed especially now with a new man running the branch. For the time being, the medic branch was a bit fragile. While the branch was strong indeed, new management and the retirement of some chiefs also meant a power vacuum. New management meant new rules, a change in the regiment, an opportunity for promotion and innovation as well as an opportunity for others to attempt to take advantage for the branch’s current state. Daisuke would not allow such a thing to occur however.

Before long, Keiji partook in the fest while encouraging others to do the same. To his surprise, Kahako behaved in a manner that was unlike her. She made eye contact with the anbu sennin while taking a bite from his bun and wrapped her lips around the tip of his thumb for a brief moment. To anyone else, it might have looked like a sort of seductive move, but Daisuke would jump to no conclusion nor would he make any assumptions regarding her actions. That was between her and Ayumu as far as he was concerned. He would not even comment on it. It wasn’t like she was on duty or anything. It was not until what she said next that he started to put two and two together. While Daisuke gathered that there might have been some sort of competition or strained relationship between both Keiji and Kahako, it now became clear that it was more of a rivalry.

"Oh well, if it is a rivalry then it could be good for the two of them. They can utilize their competitive nature to push themselves further both as medics and ninja. Still, do I really want the future heads of two divisions engaging in such behavior?" he thought, believing that it might be a good idea to try and squelch it before it started to escalate. For all he knew it seemingly nice verbal exchanges would be layered with sarcasm, light teasing would turn into full on berating, and any small attempts to inconvenience or undermine the other would turn into full on sabotage. He’d discuss it later with them, but now...in front of company was not the time. Then his worry turned into joy.

Ayumu’s acceptance for Junko’s participation in the Sentou Henkan was excellent news. The reason behind his decision reminded a mystery. For all Daisuke knew, Ayumu might have only accepted Junko for one of a few reasons. Perhaps, he did so to fortify the relationship between the medic and anbu branch. Perhaps it was impress his date, but Daisuke believed it was because he was a good, decent, and completely normal guy. Daisuke could not recall all the crazy individuals, in positions of authority, he met over the last sixteen years he spent in cloud. He gave a long bow as a sign of his appreciation. It was so low and quick that he nearly hit his head on the table, which normally would not be a problem because of his genetic healing ability and bone structure, but the booze had caused him to nearly black out. A quick scare from Ayumu knife frustration caused Daisuke and Hoshi to become more alert. They even shared the same thought, "This guy is nucking futs! Wait, I mean *bleep*ing nuts!". They liked that about Ayumu as it showed he was not some old stuffy guy who took life way too seriously. After Junko, Daisuke would hold up both his and Hoshi’s plate and dog bowl requesting diced up meats. Apparently the tongue and eyeballs weren’t enough.

"Wow, the Keiji’s surgery training and sentou henkan training with the anbu on top of Daisuke’s lessons. You sure are a busy man, Junko. ", Hoshi remarked. Like he felt, Junko shared his excitement for his new training regimen. It showed his drive and ambition. Upon the suggestion of holding another drinking game, Daisuke and Hoshi were at their limit. Thier pride would not allow them to give up yet. This competition was about more than Hoshi and Daisuke. It was about which species could hold their liquor the longest. The duo were very close to passing out and each held up their right hand / paw placing it on the ground. They got in each other’s face mumbling over their competition and summoned two more creatures just seconds before blacking out. Hoshi and daisuke lay on the floor next beside each other passed out, but in their seats sat both Fudo and Saburou.

"Back at it again, like you’ve never seen me before. This is Fudo. Another one of my paths. His empty stomach and lack of inebriation will serve me well tonight." "What the hell? Daisuke, there better be some booze and meat for summoning me! Oh, hello all. We are Saburou." he said aloud.

Name: Saburou (three sons / From Japanese 三 (sabu) "three" and 郎 (rou) "son")
Species: Canine (Cerberus)
Gender: Male

Position: Former warden of the super maximum security prison actually known as Hell Gate Prison. Saburou, formerly the warden of the super maximum security prison actually known as Hell Gate Prison. He was a unique case as his fellow wardens wanted nothing to do with the worst prison on the outskirts of the city. He could have had a cozy job by becoming a prison guard or prisoner transporter in dog house minimum security prison, krazy kennel medium security prison, or Dog pound maximum security prison. Compared to Hell Gate, anywhere else would have been paradise, but Saburou stayed and cleaned the prison, making it a shining example of what perseverance could do.

Appearance: Saburo is initially a 6ft (L) x 6ft (W) x 6ft (H) three headed canine, however his size can be altered at will anywhere between 2 to 18 meters. Saburo has a high constant body temperature to withstand severe cold or hot weather. This temperature also prevents frequent illness, by killing any potential pathogens they come into contact with before they can become ill. Lacking much fur, the cerberus is said to possess a muscular build and skin as hard as carbonized steel. His claws are sturdy and razor-sharp which assists him with digging. On all three heads, a yin and yang symbol in the shape of a full moon can be found on the forehead.

Personality: All three heads have different personalities and thus opinions on different situations. The left head is aggressive and has radical ideas while the right head is cautious and has carefully planned ideas. The middle head is dominant as it is assertive and considerate of the ideas produced by the other two heads. Because of the three contrasting personalities, this will often lead to small disagreements between the left and right heads while the middle head attempts to resolve the argument.
