The Darkness - Fushoujiki Yami
Tokibou Kou was formerly known as Fushoujiki Yami. It was a pseudo name given to him as a hired assassin. A lot of influential men were interested in him. One of which and who also gain control of Kou was the Fushoujiki clan. They took advantage of his talent and his innocence. He used him most to strike fear and death to the Tokibou clan. Kou never knew who his parents were. He never knew where and when he was born. He was taught not to care about it. He was young back then and he was easily manipulated. Kou was trained to be agile, sharp, battle-smart and tenaciously skilled with his weapon. A weapon of death.. a weapon that was originally designed to take life, a long sycthe that would be seen as part of a grim reaper's image. Many who serves as witness to his murders would call him "The Reaper" for the obvious reason. He was still young back then, full of monstrous potential but all these ended when he was defeated by Tokibou Houkou. Houkou was a mercenary who would be considered by many as a hero. A hero who not only fought battles for them but also made a lot of differences in people's lives.
The Eyepatch - Fushoujiki Otoko
As an assassin, Yami at times, worked hand in hand with other assassins. One of which he worked the most was Fushoujiki Otoko. Otoko was like his brother. He was his only family as a child. Otoko was the only one who treated him with kindness. He was also the only reason that can make Yami smile. These all ended when Yami and the rest of the Fushoujiki clan decided to make an all out attack at the Tokibou clan. Yami was specially assigned to steal a forbidden scroll to ensure that it will not be destroyed during the ruckus. The scroll was said to give infinite knowledge about the world of the shinobi to whoever would use it. It was never proven as no one had ever dare use it. In his mission, Yami encountered an Anbu of the Tokibou clan. It was an evenly match battle but Yami would emerge victorious when they decided the battle with a a final strike at each other, head on. The Anbu managed to hit his right eye while Yami managed to land a deadly blow with his scythe from chest up to the Anbu's mask. When the mask cracked open, Yami grieved as he recognized the Anbu's face. It was Otoko, it would appear that his brother by heart was working as a double agent for the two clans. Yami's grief was cut short as Tokibou Houkou appeared and attacked him.
The Struggle - Tokibou Houkou
Every Fushoujiki and Tokibou member knew about the battle between Yami and Houkou. It happened in a small bridge near the Tokibou clan. The Tokibou clan decided to raise arms, to repel the all out attack of the rival clan and put an end to the reigning terror of the Fushoujiki. And it was said that the battle decided the outcome of the war between the two clans. The battle was pretty much one sided. Yami used all of his strength, every justsu combination and every battle tactics that he was taught. None of them was effective. In fact every moved was either dodged, blocked or countered by Houkou. Every time Houkou conters, he would use the same jutsu that Kou would use. And with one strike of Houkou's sword, the battle ended and Yami fell to his knees. Houkou was a very passionate man. He never kills ruthlessly and a child like Yami would be the least kind that he would kill. Especially when Yami reminded him of his only son... Tokibou Otoko. The one lying besides them in the scene as the battle ended. Houkou knew that something like this would happen. With that, Houkou took the scroll and spared Yami's life and forcibly took him and guided him like Yami was his own son. Houkou then decided to change Yami's name to Tokibou Kou. The rest of the Tokibou would emerge victorious against the rival clan.
The Light - Tokibou Kou
Tokibou Houkou knew about Kou(formerly known as Yami). His son Otoko would always talk about him. Otoko always encourage his father to believe at the rival clan. That there is hope for them as represented by Kou. This was the very reason that made him decide to adapt Kou. On the other hand, Kou would always try to kill him. In fact, he tries to do it almost everyday but is always suppressed by Houkou. This would be the case until Kou would learn that Tokibou Houkou is the father of his partner, Tokibou Okoto. Everything started to change. Kou learned a lot from Houkou. He not only treated him as a father but also as a master. The darkness known as Yami changed into the light known as Kou. One of the many teachings that was imparted to him was to never lose hope. To never give up on other people. That no matter how cruel a person had done, there is always a door for change and a window of hope for that person. It was the very principle and belief that Kou holds on. It was the core of his being as he too needed to apply it to himself. When he was old enough, his foster father left him to independently live in Leaf. Tokibou Houkou went to a journey to reach other children around the shinobi world. Tokibou Kou then met Sukidesu and Ijou. The three live together in Sukidesu's house as though they are one family. They were all shinobi without parents. Despite of that, they were all full of hope, love and courage.
