Back story: Clay was raised by a single mother. His mother Kiko was a proud guardsman of the Toraono clan, she looked high and low for the largest strongest man she could find to father her child, eventually finding Kasachi. He was a mysterious man who rivaled even the Toraono for size. Theirs was a love of convenience, here and gone as fast as Kasachi had arrived, leaving no hint of his time there. Save for a single sword as a gift for his unborn son, and a name: Clay. This name would be from a people who's fate has long since been lost to time, set in a tradition who's meanings fall on deaf ears. Kiko would honor this one request, for he would be the Clay from which she would mold the greatest weapon the Toraono clan had even wielded. Nine months later a baby boy was born and Kiko could not have been happier with her decision. Fifty pounds, nine ounces, and almost a foot tall. Indeed, Kasachi had given Kiko the son she wanted. Clays training started early, a diet focusing on proteins and carbs, followed by heavy manual labor. There would be no need for weightlifting. Every muscle in his body was honed to a razer sharpness and no muscle went without use. From the age of one Clay would haul heavy supplies to the blacksmiths. Coal for the fires, steel ingots for weapons, and large pots of sand for glass. On his breaks Clay would run laps around his mother's guard station. He relished each lap because he would get to see her smiling face looking down at him counting each lap as he past. With each year that passed he got bigger and bigger, carrying more and more supplies. He started getting to know the blacksmiths, and little by little became fascinated with their work. Clay told his mother of his interest, and she heavily discouraged it, stating his name's sake and that he was meant to be the Clay she shaped into the greatest weapon the clan had ever seen. This brought clay a deep sadness. Each day he would carry supplies to the blacksmiths, and each day see the wonders they forged. Kiko noticed this and decided that in order to lift his spirits, she would show him the sword his father had left him. Clay was transfixed by the beauty of the blade, the craftsmanship was unlike anything he had ever seen. At this he uttered the words that would forever weigh on his mother's mind. What if I am not meant to be the greatest weapon our clan has ever welded? what if I am meant to make them?
