”Mirrors? Odd specialty,” Shinn giggled, the man walking confidently through a hall of mirrors, tapping along the glass surface of each to reaffirm his surroundings. There was a price on his head, and evidently the first of the triumvirate of gang leaders had decided to show their face. Seems like these buffoons got the message loud and clear, but instead of changing their ways they sought to fight for their beliefs of greed and inequality among fellow villagers. It was kind of admirable in a way, fighting for one’s beliefs though they didn’t fit within the confines of normal societal beliefs. Then again, these were just common criminals. In fact, most individuality were lost on this group of people who seemed to just be clones of one another, being guided around by a group of clone leaders suffering from group idiocy. Yup… this was the gang mentality in its finest.
”I took down and arrested your pawns so what makes you any different,” Shinn spoke, acknowledging the man’s presence as he made his way through the maze of mirrors. For awhile, it was relatively quiet as the young shinobi tapped along. If Shinn had to guess, it was because the assassin was sizing him up. He wanted to get a feel for his movements before attacking. It was a rather simple and overused strategy that most rational people used when deciding on how to deal with someone that they perceived as a threat. In all honesty, it was interesting to Shinn to find a criminal, who could barely rub two brain cells together, would indulge in something so rational.
”Buzzing?!” It was a sound that Shinn was all too familiar with. A small needle, probably invisible to the untrained eye launched itself from one of the mirrors, coming in contact with Shinn’s blade as he swiftly swatted down the attack.
”Nice reflexes kid!” The man yelled, appearing from one of the mirrors with a scythe in hand. ”Sooooo smug! Allow me to wipe that arrogant look off of your damn face!!!” He screamed, wildly swinging the scythe at Shinn as the young man struggled to dodge the attacks. ”There’s no wind?!” He thought as they blade pierced his skin, the blind shinobi losing the ability to keep up with the man as he swung. ”I’ll overpower him then!” Shinn said to himself, clashing blades with the man, filling his blade with Ki in an effort to drive the man backwards. ”Chidori Blade!” The boy yelled, pushing the man back with the electrified blade, knowing him into a nearby mirror. However, instead of it breaking, he simply was swallowed up by it. Now it seemed as if his entire presence had been masked by some unknown ability.
Suddenly, Shinn felt a blade tear through the skin on his leg. And then his arm. Even his back. ”Where is he?!” He panicked, backing into a mirror before feeling another slash against his abdomen. ”He’s attacking from the mirrors… the mirrors… Hehehehehehe…” Suddenly, a light bulb flashed in his head as he realized which man he was dealing with.
”Now! Too finish you!!” The man screamed, a sound felt like it had radiated throughout the entire room. With one slash, the man’s scythe tore Shinn in two. The young shinobi didn’t even make a sound as blood gushed from the middle of his body, spraying all over the man who simply laughed as the shinobi that had subdued his gang members perished in front of him. ”Don’t die yet boy. I’m not finished.” Gloating, the man slammed his blade into the boy’s body a few more times, grinning each time blood spewed from the boy’s body. ”Don’t die yet boy. I haven’t introduced myse--“
”No need.” The young Akechi said softly, appearing behind him with a smirk on his face. ”You took me by surprise but you underestimated me… Count Carnage.”
”What?! How?!”
”You are a Genjutsu specialist. Can’t you tell? You’ve been striking yourself this entire time.”
”Huh? No—“ Blood gushed from everywhere that he had struck the figure that he thought to be Shinn. The pain too unbearable for the man to understand. His nervous system seemed to shut down as he began to fidget uncontrollably.
”I wonder if you’ll die.”
”Nooooo! NOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO—“ The man’s screaming interrupted by a rush blood, spewing from his mouth as he fainted. He seemed to have died. It felt like it was over for him but…
”Here ya go. Take it from here, ANBU-san.” Shinn just kind of walked away, leaving “Count Carnage” alive in a puddle of his own puke, his actual body completely unscathed. It was all just a Genjutsu. ”Glad I didn’t need the Sharingan for that. I need to hurry up and get these suckers implanted.”
