Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Takeshi allowed himself to walk through the Uchiha manor, the house was busy as always and it seemed that the Uchiha clan had been growing in the recent years since Takeshi had brought them back to the fire country. He allowed a small smile to escape over his lips as he enjoyed seeing people enjoying themselves. Students continued to come through the house as he nodded to them as they passed, it was more a sign of respect though he had been asking himself these days if it was because he now had the title of Hokage or because he was still the Clan Head. He would have to find that information out at some point.

Takeshi allowed himself to walk into the dojo, he glanced around the large room in those few seconds, taking in his surroundings it was clear that he had prepared the room for another visitor today and even he knew that he would have to do some hard training today with a new Academy Student, they wanted to find out what powers were inside of them and this message had been whispered on the wind to Takeshi. After all, sometimes he needed to allow himself to teach the next generation, he had always been someone that preferred the hands-on approach.

Takeshi allowed a sigh to escape his lips as he entered the room, leaving the two doors open cutting the clan logo in half. Gone was his Hokage robes that he was normally see in these days and back to the black training uniform that most Shinobi of Leaf walked around in. Takeshi took a seat at the top of the dojo, he had already sent instructions for Sato to join him at the Dojo and he would now simply have to wait for the Academy Student to arrive and see how things progressed from there.

It'd been an unusual message to receive to say the very least. So unusual that it had to be a prank, it had to be. There was absolutely no way that the hokage wanted to see him. Sato was just... Sato. Even if what he read was true it wasn't like he actually had any special talents. He wasn't from some great clan with a history of the ninja arts or a savant or anything. Yet as he followed the instructions that had been given to him he almost dared to start hoping it was real. It'd be better than yet another unpleasant surprise. Arriving at the home of the Uchiha clan was certainly promising.

Of course it brought with him a new bothering revelation about his as of present only friend -- Asuka was related to the hokage. They weren't brother and sister or parent and child or anything of that sort but it showed just how far her linage could get her. After all nobody was better than the hokage. At least he seemed humble enough. Or at least that's what he'd heard. He hoped it was true. That and this being real. Worried. But hopeful.

Passing through the Uchiha estate was a bit unnerving. Not that anyone was unfriendly. Far from it. He felt so backwards he asked for directions to the dojo more than once and he always got a polite response. Hard to believe these people were related to Asuka. Once he actually saw the dojo up ahead he slowed down a bit. This was Asuka's home... this wasn't some elaborate prank from her, was it? She was a tricky sort of girl but was she really the sort of person to do something so mean? No, he didn't want to believe that. She was a bit of an air head but she wasn't mean. He stepped towards the dojo, poking his head in through the open doors before stepping inside.

It was certainly nicer than anything at the academy. Big too. Fitting giving how many Uchiha he'd seen walking around. No wonder they needed a small district rather than a single house or mansion. He was quick to notice the man waiting inside and immediately he seized up, the weight of who it was hitting him immediately. He wasn't wearing the white and red he heard that the hokage usually wore though. Was it just a random man? No, the dojo was empty and he looked like he was waiting. He felt his throat tighten up as he realized this might really be real and after a long, drawn out moment of hesitation he suddenly bent forward in a deep bow.

"Lord Hokage!"

Takeshi heard the boy speak to him as he allowed his head to turn to face the new comer into his domain, he studied the look that he had in front of him for that few moments. Trying to understand what was taking place it seemed that the boy had got the notes and he could understand that one. Takeshi allowed himself to have a nice welcoming smile on his face as he tried to greet the Academy student. He took a breath in and allowed his hand to come out and offer Sato a seat directly opposite himself.

“Unlocking someone’s bloodline is not an easy task, and it will take a while but most of the power is already within yourself already kept deep within, it just needs to be unlocked and that is exactly what we are going to be doing today. We are going to find out where that door is and unlock it inside of your mind”

Takeshi finished speaking as he allowed himself to blink slightly his eyes going from the green that he normally had. Instantly the bright red Mangekyo Sharingan famous inside of the Uchiha clan where staring at Sato. Takeshi studied the boy wondering if he would take the offer for a seat, probably for the best but soon they would come to the discovery part and that was never fun but the Uchiha knew this but he was still going to test the water with Sato. The boy needed to understand what would be happening between the two of them.

“We will take a trip inside of your mind together, it will not hurt. It will be weird and by the end of it we will open a door. Just to make you aware once this door is opened it can never be closed again Sato, you are willing to go ahead with this?”

For a moment as he held his bow he was afraid he'd already made some kind of big mistake. This was either the wrong guy or he'd acted improperly or this was all just a big joke. As he dared to glance up found himself staring up at a kind, warm smile before a hand was held out to offer him a seat. This was... the Hokage? He looked like an experienced guy and he hadn't corrected him but... well, he didn't know what he'd been expecting. Guess that was the problem for a man of such esteem when people imagine you as being bigger than life. He bowed his head again in gratitude, trying to not move too fast or too slow to his seat before resting down on the spot given to him and listening intently.

He got right to the point on the matter and his heart was quick to sink when he did. Oh no, he didn't want to waste the hokage's time. This was his first ever impression and as much as he appreciated that the hokage himself would come for such a matter he was afraid he was just going to be disappointing him. He waited for Takeshi to finish, hearing about what it'd take to do all of this and once he was certain he would finish he would begin to speak up, his eyes staying firmly on the floor inbetween them.

"Lord Hokage... I-I'm sorry but I don't really think that I have any sort of technique like that. My family isn't from this village and neither of my parents were ever ninja. I-I really am sorry if I've wasted your time b-but I don't think there's anything to find."

There was no way Sato was special. Not like he was. It'd only been for a moment, when he dared to look him in the eye during one of his pauses and he'd seen the vibrant red in his eyes that'd been green moments before. That was the Uchiha's gift, right? Asuka probably had something like that... no wonder she was leagues ahead of him.

Takeshi frowned slightly as he allowed himself to listen to the words of the Students, it seemed that he didn’t consider himself worthy of much. What else was to be expected just starting out as a Shinobi would pose a tone of problems even the Hokage knew this from back in his time inside of the Academy. He allowed the eye contact to be made as a small smile came to his lips it was clear that it was already about to start to take place what the Hokage had planned, it would be a lot less painful this way but still be hard on the mind.

“You already are learning how to unlock your powers, and your first mistake was ever making eye contact with me Sato. See now I have all the control here so let us begin, I am not one to waste time, but I will have a wander around your mind. Believe me we will unlock all the secrets behind what pulses threw your veins together.”

The Dojo in a split second fell away, it seemed that Takeshi had summoned Sato into one of the moves that made the Uchiha bloodline so deadly. Tsukiyomi normally never used outside of a fight, but this purpose for today would see it used. The two of them found themselves standing in a corridor door all around as Takeshi allowed himself to turn to the boy studying him.

“Each door represents something in your mind, we need to find the one that opens the bloodline, it shouldn’t take long. The door will be different from others, you will see it, but I cannot unlock it for you. The only person able to unlock that will be yourself, and even then, just opening the door is only the beginning. You must remember that threw this Sato”

Sato was confused and a bit worried when the hokage refused to even acknowledge his concerns about this being a waste of time. Not to mention... eye contact? What about it? W-Was it rude to look him in the eye when they were like that? In control? His mind? None of it made any sense until he looked around and realized that he was somehow standing in an unfamiliar hallway. Immediately he was put into a state of panic, unsure what was going on though Lord Takeshi tried to talk him through it to an extent.

"M-My mind? Lore Hokage, I don't know about this..." He was still hesitant, glancing at all the identical doors, half scared of what could be behind any of them. Nothing here would be of interest to someone like the hokage and he well and truly didn't believe there was any hidden potential to be found. Despite this he dared to reach out for one door, pulling it open and checking inside.

Takeshi noted the objection for the student, though the Hokage preferred a direct approach to things, he would rather not just hang around and waste the time when the boy would only be learning about something so simple. He allowed himself to watch as Sato opened another door it seemed that he was beginning to get the idea of what was going to be required, watching the boy grab the handle of the first door he watched him open it. Memories where inside, each one would be of him growing up. This one he seemed to see a very young Sato as he glanced threw to the door, the mind was fascinating in what it could store and what it could hold.

“You know that door and many like these will just hold memories of when you where young, the one you need to search for Sato will be clear, it will be visible it will be something you do not recognise, for such a young mind yours it is rather crowded”

Takeshi looked around as he noted the doors though he could not do anything to help this was a journey that Sato would have to take on his own. He was here just to let him find this way to unlock the bloodline and have a look around about the situation. He glanced at the memory once more before allowing a small smile to escape his lips as he turned to attention back to the Student.

“You need to be wanting to find the door, though what bloodline will be waiting I have no idea, just don’t turn into a porcupine or something like that, there are worse powers to have though. Just keep in mind that you cannot shut that door and search for it Sato. Want to find it and unlock it.”

Sato was stunned speechless for a moment as he looked through the door in his mind. This was... home. Not Konohah but the village he'd been born in, the tiny little place that was barely a dot on the map. It was probably even less than that now. But these were better days. Simple days. It was a memory he'd barely held on to -- a simple happy day playing out in the fields with his mother and father. He wasn't much older than five at the time, small and energetic and without those glasses just yet. His mother looked ages younger despite only five years having passed. And his father... his memory of him was more blurry than the rest. It's where Sato got his dark hair from but all he can make out are those big lavender eyes so filled with joy to be with him...

He shut the door after a moment, trying to not let it show how much that memory hurt. He missed home, the quiet country lifestyle. And he missed his father. He put on a brave face though, adjusting his glasses before walking down the hall, passing a few doors before trying a new one, not wanting to waste the Hokage's time with needless interruptions.

Takeshi allowed himself to watch as he brought a sigh from his lungs, it seemed as if Sato doubted himself and with that doubt it would be the undoing for the man. He knew this full well and pondered on how much he wanted this. Was he wanting to unlock the power, or did he just not want to tap into any of his potential that he had. The Uchiha glanced at the boy before deciding to ask him up front what he really thought about this situation. Did he really want to accept that he had something inside of him, or just want to go and hide all his problems?

“If you don’t believe you have anything worthy of unlocking inside of yourself then there will be nothing to unlock, so tell me Sato, do you think you have something inside of you? Because no matter how long you look the only door that matters will be the one to show you true potential, your past is your past. You need to decide what you want to do in the future and right now I can tell you do not even know the answer to that. So, tell me do you think you have potential?”

Takeshi waited for the reply he stood in the corridor and watched the boy open another door but knew it was just a memory, he could see the true potential inside of the boy’s mind, the door was already here and it was clear what he had the potential to become. Takeshi allowed himself to glance at it, but until Sato realised his true potential this door would stay shut, it would stay dormant and would not show itself. This was the issue that he would have to come to understand and accept.

Sato froze up the moment he heard Takeshi speak, turning sharply to stand at attention and trying to hold eye contact this time. The hoakge's words shouldn't be taken lightly after all. The problem was... well, it was an uncomfortable series of questions he wanted to ask. Whatever confidence he'd had in his posture had melted away and he started to rub the back of his neck and fiddle with his glasses in turn as he tried to answer him. He didn't want to just say what was on his mind but anything else would be lying and of no help at all.

"Lord Hokage... I... I don't know if I want there to be something inside of me. I'm not scared, I-I do want to get stronger and I want to help people in any way that I can... but if there has been something inside me all this time..." His arms wrapped around himself as he began to shake as if he was cold, considering if he should stop himself from speaking before daring to let himself get these building fears off his chest with someone he felt he could trust.

"Then why have I always felt so weak and scared? I've frozen up or failed any time I was met with danger. If there was something inside of me then why wasn't it there when it mattered? When I needed it, when people needed me... I..." The words stopped coming so easily as he felt tears well up in his eyes. Damn it, why did he have to be such a cry baby?

Takeshi allowed himself to glance towards Sato, it seemed the boy needed to control his emotions more, but that was to be expected considering that he really did not know what was going on, maybe the Hokage could give him a helping. Takeshi allowed himself to glance for a few seconds as he pondered a better answer to give to the boy. Though it was clear that he still needed to try and push for the Student to realise that this took a change in himself.

“You know the truth was because you did not believe in yourself. Simple as that, I never used to doubt myself and have only moved forward because of that. You need to start to search for what you want, failing we will all do. Hell, I have failed on my way to where I am, but that has made me who I am. Everyone has potential I can tell you. You have that same potential, now I will unlock that door and you will be the one that needs to walk threw it but remember that you cannot turn back once you have seen this. I was going to wait for you to find it but apparently you have no faith in yourself.”

Takeshi allowed himself to frown slightly he walked over to the door that apparently Sato was missing and pressed his hand to it. Unlike the normal Takeshi allowed the green door to appear, the logo familiar to him as he recognised one of the Hyuuga symbols, a small smirk came to his lips. Ironic that there was another one inside of the village. Unlike the red doors that etched the corridor this one was that green colour. So, it seemed that the boy was another Dojutsu user, interesting indeed. Takeshi moved away from the now visible door.

“Once you unlock this remember there is no going back Sato.”

"I-I'm sorry, Lord Hokage," he said meekly, feeling bad that he couldn't even manage this by himself. Though it wasn't as if he was being impatient. It seemed that his lack of will was making it difficult for him without the help. It made sense in an odd way. He really was concerned that all this time he'd had something special and hadn't been living up to it. If he'd almost prefer just being a normal person then why would anything to the contrary catch his eye in this place?

Even after the door came he was hesitant. Lord Takeshi had warned him a few times now that if he chose to do this that there was no turning back. And he really did want to get stronger but at the same time he felt as if such a thing might be just as much of a burden. He didn't recognize the symbol on the door but -- wait a minute.

Sato's bright green eyes went wide as he recognized the sign. Without even having to open a door a memory came flooding to him. It'd been a quiet night when he hadn't been able to sleep. His father, still up while his mother slept, had placed him on his lap and spent time with him. His curious young self had asked about his father's family -- he'd always known Grandpa who was his mother's father but his father wasn't from the village. He hadn't been able to recognize the look of sadness in his father's lavender eyes at the time. He told him that he hadn't seen them in a very long time though he still cared about them deeply. He showed him him necklace, one in the exact same shape at the symbol on the door, and told him it'd belonged to his father and one day he was going to pass it on to Sato.

He never saw that necklace again. Father had pulled it out any other time and it seemed to disappear with his life a few years ago.

Only when he stopped thinking about it did Sato realize his hand was already halfway to the door handle. He hesitated, pulling his hand back and looking towards the hokage again, half wondering if this was the right thing to do. But then he actually thought about it. If something really was special about him then maybe it was because of his father. Maybe he would have told him once he was old enough -- or maybe he'd just wanted to him to live a normal life. Yet he could make a difference. He had no obligation to use these gifts or even to become a ninja but he wanted to anyways. He wanted to be his father's son, to carry what had been given to him with pride. He found himself having to hold back tears, not of fear or sorrow but of just unbridled emotion at all these realizations as he bowed deeply to Takeshi once again.

"Thank you for this, Lord Hokage! I promise I'll do everything I can to make this country better for everyone!"

He didn't hesitate even a moment after he'd risen back up to full height, turning and pushing the door open to go through it.

Takeshi allowed himself to watch Sato nothing needed to be said in this situation it was clear that they had managed to finally understand the potential that had laid dormant inside of them, the question now would Sato understand the training that would have to go into himself to become stronger. The unlocking of a power would be like a wave of energy it would be something that he had to accept and come to terms with, he would have to train and understand the unlocking of a bloodline was just the first step in a long way to truly understand the potential behind it.

“Just opening the door will not change much about you. I can tell you that right now Sato, but now you have unlocked that final potential that final bloodline, this door is opened now you will have to train that skill. It will not be something that happens overnight, it will take years of practice to finally be able to understand the true power that you have been given and understand the knowledge that comes with that. You will start to develop yourself form this day forward Sato, what you do with this well that is up to you.”

Takeshi allowed himself to stand in the corridor, the memories of the bloodline would flow threw Sato, the bloodline would awaken as it was. The question that he would have to answer himself is what he would do with this strength. What would he do with this potential was down to him. Takeshi had shown him what lay within and that was enough for the day. He would have to take all this information and understand what he had learned. For now, he was going to have to accept this and Sato would have to find a true Hyuuga to teach him the skills of his bloodline.

Sato could feel an immediate change once he was on the other side, like a flood gate in the back of his mind that he'd never noticed opened all at once. He wasn't sure he'd called it power -- more like potential. He didn't feel stronger but certainly sharper. He hadn't even realized that his eyes had turned solid white and that veins had formed around his eyes. It was like he could see better. His glasses didn't seem to do much for him in this state as he quickly realized that glancing around them didn't leave his vision blurry. Not to mention he could see... things. Looking down at his own hands he could see little channels full of blue energy flowing through him, making out little nodes along them as well. Was this his bloodline? The sight?

Takeshi allowed himself to look at Sato it seemed that the kid had learned everything that he needed to know. Though how much of that would be useful in the future was not for him to say. Allowing a smile to come to his lips he dropped the Genjutsu that the two of them had been under, it was clear that Sato still had a lot to learn but this was just the beginning on that path, opening the power was the first part the next would be learning how to control it ad that was something that Takeshi knew would be better experienced from someone with the same abilities.

“That is today session over Sato, I know that you will have a lot of questions, but I must inform you that the only person that will be able to find those answers out is yourself. It will be hard and a long learning lesson, but you will understand a lot of it in time. I understand that the questions will be wanting to burst forth, but I want you to go away and think about this now. I want you to think about what has been said here and what has been seen. You must understand what is happening before you ask those questions for without that understanding the answers will be pointless.”

Takeshi was back in the Dojo of his clan house looking at Sato it seemed that he looked older in those few seconds, that was gone as the smile came back to his lips as Takeshi stood up once more and walked out of the Dojo leaving Sato there with his own thoughts, it seemed that the Hokage would only take him so far before he had to find the rest out on his own. That was the way that the world worked.

The dojo came flooding back to view along with Takeshi, the two of them still sitting where they'd been even though it felt like Sato had just been standing. He could only stare at the hokage for a long moment, seeming in awe of what he was still seeing with his active dojutsu. It was far more to take in than just the little pathways in his hands. He could make out the intense chakra coming off the ninja across from him, making out the system and all the points along it. It was a lot to take in though and just as he starting to get a grasp of it he lost it. The veins relaxed and his eyes returned to their bright green, his sight returning to normal and a vague feeling of fatigue settling in. He immediately recognized it as a side effect of chakra loss. He'd only had it up for moments and yet it'd taken him that far. Seems what he'd been told about him needing to learn how to use this was true.

When he snapped out of it and actually looked through normal eyes he noticed that Takeshi looked... tired. Much less confident then he had all the time he'd seen it. It quickly disappeared however and he half wondered if it'd been a trick of the light. He told him that he'd have to work to improve on what he'd just gained but it wasn't discouraging to hear at all. If this could make him stronger then he'd gladly take it upon himself to improve. He had yet to understand what this meant outside of just his powers, oblivious to the existence of the Hyuuga and their status within the village.

As Takeshi left Sato stumbled to his feet and called out, "Thank you, Lord Hokage! I won't waste this opportunity, I swear!"
