Profile​

Standing at the base of a massive tree, Kikai had both arms rigidly crossed; her stance was steeled and carried an authoritarian air about her. With eyes like a hawk's, she kept her attention at the one path that lead to this point; one of the endless entrance-ways into the Ancient Forest, this one was however hidden through a thicket of smaller brush and a trodden path. Why was Kikai awaiting here?

The day prior, Shizuka Senju a prospering youth with a showing of great aptitude for the arts of Ninjutsu and natural energies had been making their name slowly known to those who recruit, or test for sub-branches within' the three core branches. Kikai, was acting as a scout for the Merces Letifer, a subtle branch that served under the watch of the Main-Branch. Their purpose was primarily for silencing and assassination of non-shinobi targets, those who posed a threat to the stability of certain political climates from Lightning to Bear countries; sometimes, rarely- Farther.
These particular shinobi not only needed to have immaculate attention to detail, combat and killing; but the capability of covering and or erasing the existence of a death, make it superficial as an accident, or make it seem like a persons death was simply a disappearance with no trace left behind. As such, the branch had sent a memo to Shizuka; with instructions to where to arrive, and for the purpose of testing aptitude amongst the Main-Branch and the particular skills that she posed, with the intent to discern whether she was up to the task or not. With no mention of the Merces Letifer however. It did however, warn her to be prepared for the potential of engagement.

"Who better than a person who can alter the makeup of organic nature, grass, trees, earth... Makes sense, but she is a little young." Kikai has mused to herself awaiting the arrival of the young Senju. The mid-thirties warrior was adorned with an apparent Kumogakurian flak-jacket, and slacks. A headband strapped across her forehead, somewhat obscured by her checker black-white fringe of hair and the rest was tied tightly behind her head.

Kikai

 

[Senju Shizuka]

Intimidating was the word that came to mind when Shizuka’s lightning clone set her feet down at the entrance of the path and got to meet the woman’s steady gaze. Meanwhile, the real Senju was quietly making her way through the right side of the forest, hoping to come out somewhere behind the stranger who was waiting for her (whenever it would become necessary). If this location was a trap then she wouldn’t have fallen into it blindly, at least that’s what she was hoping for. The scroll had mentioned potential combat. It’s why she did this cautious preparation: to give herself enough time to protect herself from the first outburst should it come to that. A part of her wanted to scan the area for anyone else who might be present, but once she realized that the one waiting for her was a Jounin, she doubted there would be any others. Tall, cold. The fresh Genin was impressed already.

“Apologies for being a little late,” not that she thought two minutes to make a huge difference, but she did think that it was better to start on a good note. Who knew, this might become her team leader or a superior she would have to report to on a daily basis.

“The name is Senju Shizuka, I was instructed to come here for some tests?” Offering a disarming smile, she was slightly confused that the woman didn’t appear to relax. Her rigid stance was still as threatening and combative as before. The deep violet eyes were burning with the type of intensity that Shizuka hasn’t seen so far in her instructors. It was a bit scary, she had to admit, but she didn’t lower her green, slightly widened eyes.

Shifting a bit, the clone waited. And so did Shizuka a couple of dozen yards away. Breathing slowly, she clutched the kunai in her hand, wondering what would happen next. Unsure if there had been any need for the clone, she didn’t think that the Jounin would be displeased about it should she find out. Coming into unknown territory with very little information simply made one a bit paranoid. Certainly in their branch.

Not feeling like showing the bit of nervosity coursing through her, she inhaled deeply and forced her body to stand straight. Her muscles twitched a bit here and there, she wanted to move to get rid of the tension but didn’t want to be the overly worried Genin.

“Cool hair,” she grinned but wasn’t sure if it was entirely appropriate. So.. with little hesitation she went from the compliment to the obvious. “What’s the plan.. and what do I call you?” Surely this one had a name.

After some minutes had elapsed over the designated time-allotment, the ends of her eyes crunched ever so slight in irritation; although it was nearly unnoticeable at a distance. Her jaw had tightened a few notches; her over-all persons was being waned by the simple fact the individual her own superiors had dictated should be scouted, at the least to have tested to see if she was a fit for the Merces Letifer. Already thinking not. Who shows up late, this close to the village?

As the clone arrived, and her initial choice words spoken down to her name. Shizuka would have noticed a growing air of irritation, it was a tension that was difficult to explain. Kikai didn't have to say a word, merely silence at first with a glare of dissent; it was almost like an officer had looked down upon a private who just vomited on their clothes. Something was awry, and it was the sparks of controlled anger from the woman.
Kikai uncrossed her arms after a moment of dreaded silence between the two. She stepped forwards and spat to the side, returning her attention to the clone with narrowed eyes. "I'm plenty damned aware who you are girl. And do you have any idea what time it is? What sort is so feeble-disciplined that they can't arrive on time, or even early." Where one might expect yelling, a heightened voice of scolding. Kikai's simply got sharper her words were edged off, a cut was left every word she spoke, a means to scold a warrior; than a child. She took a deep breath after her aired scold. Up until Shizuka commented on the hair of Kikai, and inquired on her name.

It was then, that the young girl witnessed Kikai's left-eye twitch; ever so slightly. An exasperated sigh escaped Kikai, "Alright." came a quieted mutter; the word wasn't spoken for Shizuka. It was also at the instantaneous moment, that Kikai twisted her right foot and turned her body, torso and person's towards in the inside of the forest. She had in that blinding moment of a second extended her arm and open palm towards the tree the real Shizuka stood behind. And an array of sinister black tendrils, chains and one could almost hear screams of the damned from the black and red energy; this energy unleashed at an inhumane speed almost as fast as it came into notice did it crash around the tree, but wrapped around Shizuka just as well. As the tendril like hands of the damned, spiked chains and strange energy latched onto Shizuka it burned with a cold agony searing through skin and blood had started hissing as if it boiled once it exited the body.

In one fell movement the older woman whipped the binding back and drug Shizuka through the massive tree, with splinters of wood and tree exploding everywhere. And she continued to do so until Shizuka was crashing through, off and around trees until she came out into focus.
As she was amidst recovering. Kikai walked up with audible clacks of her feet against the ground, and knelt down to eye-level. Close enough to smell the breath from the older woman. Notably, a Jashinism amulet dangled from her neck.

"Listen girl. You're here to be tested, do not be late. And you damn well respect a person's time and position. Hiding from me is a disregard of our attempt at civility by offering you a time and place. We're not the sort in this branch that need or have to bide by those ideals. We chose to since you're young. Kapeesh?" With a flashed and wounding smile. Kikai stood up and walked a few feet away, a tendril of darkness fired from her finger tip at the clone, afore impaling it through the forehead. In a moment of silence afore the clone dispersed in a slew of lightning.

And the bindings that held Shizuka slowly slithered back into Kikai. Freeing the young Senju without resistance. Kikai then turned to face Shizuka, her arms crossed and chin up, head looking down ever so slightly on the young kunoichi.

"Our branch is designed to deal with a lot of combative scenarios. If perhaps, you waited no time to strike at me. I may have been impressed- but instead you walked up like a mocking child, get your act together and I expect you damn well draw arms. Understand? Now get up and face me Senju."

Make your post as usual, and then for our 3rd posts we'll be incorporating some levels of what a bmod might look like that I'll facilitate. Once we're at that stage I'll work with you on what a round should look like, tips, tricks, etc.

[Senju Shizuka]

Awkwardly enough the compliment hadn’t been taken well. In fact, it seemed to trigger the woman to-. Before she knew various parts of her body were burning. She tried to shake off the fire but it was tightly wrapped around her. The trees fell, disintegrated as she was pulled forward through the mess. By the time she landed on the ground in the open, the young Senju was shivering and panting at the same time. Blood ran in thin streams here and there, and while the agonizing burn was there no longer, she felt threatened to the core. Slowly, with light panic written all over her face, she started to heal. If only her hands would stop shaking then she could throw the damn kunai at this.. this… bitch.

Angry and hurt she stared at the woman whose face was way too close to her liking. A part of her wanted to push the stupid Jounin away, but the more rational part, the one that’s been attending the Academy refused to do something so reckless. So, instead, she pushed back verbally. “Yeah, kapeesh.” The defensive action of a hurt teenager manifested itself in the form of a sarcastic jab.

With the clone gone she got up on her feet, testing her limbs. Somehow she hadn’t gotten seriously injured. It surprised her really, especially when she threw a look on the path that’s been made by the black chains of.. of what? Having seen the burning shadows, or whatever that had been, she planned to stay away as far as possible from those. No part of her desired to be wrapped in their hellish embrace again.

Ruffled by the way this woman was treating her it cost Shizuka a lot of effort not to tell her a piece of her mind. It made no sense for her to want to be attacked.. that.. how was she supposed to know that jumping a superior would be a good idea?!

And to make matters worse the woman didn’t even bother introducing herself. How rude! Of course, Shizuka had assumed that this one would know her name but had told it to her regardless out of politeness. The reaction to it, well, the young Genin was not impressed by the lack of manners this woman displayed. From what she could see the Jounin was all rough edges and cutting words. Oh.. and sadistic fire.

Bringing her hands together with a jutsu in mind, she glared at the tall female with all the bravado a green as grass Genin could muster in the face of an experienced Jounin.

Profile​

With the tension fluttering the air in broad day-light. The Jōnin wasted no time in revealing the purpose of the scouting, for a branch intent on silent murder; or at the very least the adequate aptitude to combat quickly, efficiently and to hold their own against other shinobi. Combat was an essential part of their lives, their work, their code.

In the matter of milliseconds, even Shizuka could been a horrific power surge through the woman. Her peeved expression turned that into something of entertainment, a dreadful smirk stretched across her face. As a swirling power of black and red mist coalesced around the woman, a brief lapse of time had occurred afore she had a weapon withdrawn from seething dark energy, that from what Shizuka could tell simply came from her forearm.
As she had the weapon drawn; Kikai's body vanished into a flicker. Appearing behind Shizuka instantaneously, a bludgeoned smash crashed into her head. And a secondary weapon manifested in her off-hand, swinging it and crashing Shizuka into the ground below. In a blurred motion, the two seeming hammers had receded into Kikai's forearms and a new weapon was withdrawn as if it were a maul on her back, caressed in a black and red shadowy mist. "Up and atter' girl!" Kikai bellowed a sinister laughter, as she swung the maul like a golf club. Lifting Shizuka off the ground with a fell smash; only to flicker and appear above her again smashing the maul down at Shizuka's mid-section.

After the assault. Kikai descended back to the ground in rapid succession, the maul being dropped to the earth in a 'crash' and remaining there. At the exact moment of her landing, Kikai withdrew a kunai flourished it till the point was angled to her right forearm; and without hesitation she impaled the end into her arm. Blood swirling out like magic as it wreathed the kunai and part of her arm. In mere seconds a pair of red and black semi-melting chains of darkness are wielded by the woman, one in each hand. "Come now!" Whipping her arms back, the woman then snapped them forwards as the two chains lunged towards the Senju, both crashing in violent force against her skin, Shizuka could almost feel chakra withering away from her and being dispersed into the air.

At this moment, a audible 'fwomp' of power released around Kikai; as a staging of chakra, disgusting and sinister in just the sensing of it's aura. As this chakra of red and black swirled around Kikai. She could only wear a smirk of excitement, she was fighting; and against someone who her branch was intrigued in. Two birds one stone. At the same time, Shizuka could feel her innards slowly contorting- at the rot of what could only be explained as sickness.

In the moments of respite and recovery for Kikai, she witnessed the Senju erect a defense- It was remarkable in its fortifications, even Kikai couldn't deny that much. "Very well! Let us see if I can produce a force for your will Senju!" A bellow of a warrior's excitement surged through her voice. As a cracking, breaking twist of her skin started contorting-- Kikai's body was changing as her body started to slowly take a demonic look, horns slowly protruded from her forehead, spikes popping from her forearms and shins. Her jaw sharpened and fangs grew elongated in her mouth.

"Jashin! Help me bring this girl closer to your retribution!" A throbbing power started to buffet around Kikai, plumes of dust to a drum-beat almost started to violently fire off around her. Up until a horde of dense vanta-black energy wrapped around her arms. In her unreal speed, the woman appeared directly in-front of the defenses and sent a earth-shattering hammer-fist smash into the defense. Eviscerating it; and while she aimed to close the distance more to the youth that dwelled within', she felt earth wrapping at her arms and legs and heavily slowing her down and the momentum of her strike. "GRRRRRRRRRAH!" In a ferocious roar, the residual momentum still seemed to soak towards Shizuka. Landing some semblance of impact.

Seething with energy, and while the two paused to recuperate. Shizuka's body continued to grow even more sick, as if being in the presence of the dark energy was slowly rotting away her defenses internally. "Tch-- Mada mada." Kikai muttered, with a grin. As she appeared in-front of Shizuka once more in a flicker of unreal speed. Lashing out at Shizuka twice with the same madness-wrapped chains. Sheering away her health and chakra at the same time.

After the relentless assault. Kikai paused ever so slightly in the utterly annihilated area, the ground around them was showing signs of death. Rotting to the core as the dark energy oozed off the older woman. Her chin held up and staring down at Shizuka. Silent, but questioningly... Was she measuring the girls resolve?

Kikai

 

[Senju Shizuka]

Damn, it took her a lot of effort to keep up the right sequence of the seals in order to get the jutsu out. The hit on her head slowed her down, had the world turn faster for a moment and left a bruise. She stumbled, kept her hands where she needed them to be. This woman was fast. For all Shizuka could tell the weapons came out of nowhere. So did the hits. Twisting and turning in hopes of getting a bit of time to finish her jutsu she bit her lip when the golf club crashed into her side. At least it didn’t crack her ribs. A part of her was thankful for the Jounin not to break every bone in her body for the sole purpose of showing off.

Sliding back she coughed. The places she had been hit burned. She would have to patch them up, but later. First she had to keep up the jutsu. Had to get something in-between them because- oh fuck, chains cut through her skin and a wave of nauseousness crashed through her. Aside from that it felt as if the chakra she had been guiding for her defense was being drained. It was now or never, she knew.

Earth came forward and as it rose into a wall it changed into wood. Thick logs intertwined with earth had to protect her from the crazy Jonin on the other side. Slowly but steadily the girl’s mind was starting to panic just a little. She didn’t feel quite well anymore. Stopping, however, didn’t appear to be an option. When the woman broke through the wall all Shizuka could do was reflexively cast a jutsu in hopes of it giving her the necessary boost to dodge. Unfortunately, all it did was give her enough time to move herself partly out of the way. This woman was so fast that even making herself lighter didn’t help Shizuka with her speed. It was insane. And the pain was only interrupted by a shiver concerning the words this Jonin had spoken.

Has she just addressed Jashin?

The idea worried her as she flew backward with eyes widened at the sight of what the Jonin had become. A monster! Bones sticking out like horns and fangs. What in the world-?

Slamming into a tree some distance behind her she grasped for the regeneration that would heal the injury on her back. The cuts and bruises were one thing. An open wound on her back was something else entirely. With sizzling smoke coming off her the flesh and skin sewed itself together. All the other stuff had to wait because the thing was already closing the distance between them.

Those chains from before were back and as they tugged at Shizuka’s strength she felt her face contorting with anger. After all this time she was still weak and couldn’t keep up with a real kunoichi even for a bit. It pissed her off and forced her back onto her feet. Eyes slightly narrowed and jaws tight with the strain she was feeling both mentally and physically.

With the barrier broken to pieces and the knowledge of being too slow to actually wreck damage on this demon-like kunochi, Shizuka decided to take another path. Next round she would cast faster. Catching the woman even if dishing out less damage in the meantime quickly became the girl’s priority.

Now, most of her childish annoyance was gone. Eyes fixated on the target, she tried to plan out her moves while she had the time to think. In a moment she would have to trust her body to know how to act. Bringing her hands closer again, she showed the will to continue this test.

“Ready to continue.”

All it took was some sort of resemblance of a nod for Shizuka to try doing this a different way. Instead of going for anything major right away, she went for trying to push back her opponent if only by a little. Directing her arm at the target that was the horned woman, she let the water stream erupt from her palm.

Still feeling a bit like she had to throw up, the fumbling with the next jutsu only went as smooth as she wanted it to because she had practiced it a hundred times before. The double Aqua Fangs went into the opposite direction, getting transformed into wood as they rushed toward the Jonin in hopes of catching her - or slowing her down. Having pulled the purer chakra to the surface she hoped that it would hit.

By now the young genin was running, she hoped that having made it to the area where there was still some plant life left would help her set up the trap she wanted to use. She didn’t mind taking hits like the last time. When it happened she would bite through the pain and hope to create a bit of distance. Circling back to the open spot, she really wished that the trees in the distance could come to her aid.

Bruised, muddy, sick, and full of cuts either from the blades or the sharp twigs brushing against her skin, she shook a little while forming the seals for her Water prison jutsu. Once cast, she ignored both the physical pain inflicted on her and the drain of her energy that was bothering her. So, she turned the pure pool of energy which wasn’t being disturbed at the moment. It helped her to concentrate on the spell she had only used once in a fight. Back then it had really helped her, and she hoped that right now it would be the case as well. Incoming or not, in a reflex of needing this to keep away the enemy, or at least mess up their plan, she let the gravity bend to her will.

All she could do right now was try, and if that wasn’t enough, then she had to try a little bit harder.

The engagement wasn't over just yet, Kikai recognized a slight of determination in the young Genin. As Shizuka nodded; Kikai's smirk turned to that of a grin, her eyes narrowed and steeled into a ferocity- one of a primal hunter. Her focus went far beyond that of a usual combatant, there was some killer-instincts that dwell within' this woman.

When Shizuka was quick to devise an attack of water to unleash at Kikai; the older woman held her position- Perhaps a show of faith in a manner of testing Shizuka? Never the less. As the water came inches of Kikai's person, a new power started ramping up around Kikai- Much like earlier, a plummeting heartbeat of chakra started to burst out of Kikai's pores, manifesting two pillars of spiraling black energy around her body. In that moment, the water came crashing against the chakra; being seemingly devoured by the very same energy.

"Good good, keep it up! Young Senju!" Bellowed out a voice, it sharpened further than when she first spoke to the youth. Her tone was growing somewhat excited at the scenario. Only a second after her comment, Kikai begun to walk towards Shizuka; each step paced to intensify the inevitable encounter once more. During this time the two spiraling wooden strikes came lashing towards Kikai. The first crashing into the black energy and rotting instantly; crumbling the second it had made contact. The second found it's way through the energy and crashed into her right arm. Revealing some redness from the impact- But the woman continued with an unrelenting march. During the seconds she closed a few more meters, the wound from earlier had readily recovered back to her usual skin pigment and appeared almost as if there was never even a scratch there to begin with.

"Gonna have to do harder than that girl!" The grin sharpened, with her growing demonic look it was only hastening the dreadful presence that Kikai gave off.
At the very moment Shizuka turned to start running. She was quickly met with the two dark-energy chains that fired like tendrils of death; swinging and weaving through the trees and crashing with devastating ferocity, intent on making Shizuka's form worsen. After the two chains striked out, the receded back to the woman; clanging and chiming like bells and hanging chains in a torture chamber. Each step continued towards Shizuka in her intent on closing the distance, that the young girl worked so feverishly to gain.

Kikai had been watching as the young Senju worked towards a new strategy in halting Kikai; she could only feel the growing tension, it was ecstasy to the Jōnin. At about twenty-feet from Shizuka's position, the two pillars of swirling energy around Kikai had increased in density, with an addition of a new third pillar of purple energy. Kikai then called out. "Can you hear it Senju?! Can you feel it?!" With a tactful pause, the silence of the air met with the churning energy of Kikai's corrupted powers buffeting dirt and dust around. "Jashin is intrigued by your test of will... He watches in curiosity. And wishes to share his fervor with you."

Almost on cue, a red mist started to ooze out of Kikai. From every part of her body, as if she was a host of this unseen power; it was dense, and it spread like wild-fire on a windy day. In the matter of a second, Shizuka's sight was obscured by this red-mist. Once it came in-contact with her, she immediately was barraged by a smell so foul. It was like a sea of rotting corpses had been dropped at her feet; within' the mist she could hear chains clinking and clanging in all directions.

Within' the mist, she could hear a voice-- And then another... All of them were different, yet unsettlingly familiar. They called out to Shizuka- asking her to join them, that Jashin was waiting. At that moment like pin-needles; Shizuka started feeling her body being cut, by unseen forces. The cuts were small, but vast in number.

And from behind, during all this; she heard a problematic voice-- Kikai's. "Don't freeze." Her tone like venom, mocking the Senju while the voices continued in the air. And carried with Kikai's comment, were a rain of the dark-energy chains. That cracked against a wall of gravity, Shizuka's defense holding fast against the assault of weapons.
Given Shizuka's effort to enclose Kikai with the prison of water, it swirled around the Jōnin. Putting her limbs into a stasis of crushing weight of pressurized water. Yet-- In the challenging sight of the red-mist, Shizuka saw her smile.

And a plume of smoke populated Kikai's position in the prison. Replaced with ... A log.

"Clever girl." Called out from behind Shizuka. "But if you play too defensive with me... You'll find you will lose." Her voice coming from a new position all together. "What will you do? How to fight someone you can't see I wonder?" Her voice kept coming from a new place surrounding Shizuka in a barrage of tormenting taunts.

"Myself? I wonder.. Jashin lets me smell their blood-- I can sense your position, and the air ... It fills me with information- Your sweat, your fear, your frustration... All of it... But- What- Will- You- Do-?"

[Senju Shizuka]

A log! How could she have fallen for that.. how.. when did the woman switch to-?

Shizuka’s thoughts were interrupting one another when everything went black as the gravity she hoped to attack with turned into a reflexive defense. Not that she was complaining. The numerous cuts were stinging all over her body. Bruises added up and blood was lost. The smell of dead animals and god knows what else didn’t really make things better either. She wanted to gag, but didn’t even have the time for that. Keeping the regeneration going for a little longer she had her vitals checked. The injuries present were wearing her down - but weren’t deadly. It was clear that the Jonin didn’t plan to tear her apart. This was a test. Perhaps that’s why, aside from the understanding that she as a starting kunoichi would suffer and one day die, she didn’t feel as nervous at the horrendous sight that was the Jonin.

Speaking of, where the hell had she gone?

A razor sharp smile before the woman’s disappearance out of sight promised retribution for any time of failure. Shizuka panted more than before, her eyes narrowed down to try to see better while the nauseousness swung back and forth in her guts. Her opponent was draining her energy, her health, and her sanity. She hoped that the voices from before would stay away. Something about them made her really uncomfortable. And that made it harder to concentrate on the matter at hand.

At the moment, she had to find her opponent. Mist had covered the area and was messing with her sight. It was annoying, and the young Senju briefly regretted having never practiced anything related to wind. It might have been handy now, some jutsu to clear up the area at least a little.

From the words coming out of the mist it was clear what the next test was about. It appeared that the Jonin wanted to see her reactions in various scenarios. All in all it made sense. Was that the reason she was slowly getting less and less annoyed with the craziness displayed? Or was it just that she didn’t have time to bother herself with what the Jonin was like. It truly wouldn’t change a thing. Judging the Jonin wouldn’t stop her from striking out of the mist or cut further into the Senju’s flesh.

Gathering the information given to her she didn’t know how to use it. There was nothing in her arsenal that could prevent the woman from smelling her.. and she couldn’t life the mist either, neither could she control it. This was a tough situation and that’s why she thought about starting to create an armor of sorts around her body. Little plates of wood would cover her and help her deal with potential damage but.. play too defensive ..and you will lose.

Deciding to take her chances and see what would come out of it she switched to the seals necessary for the Mystical Pond. A jutsu that would create a large body of water beneath her. Hopefully the Jonin would fall into it. Then the mist wouldn’t be too much of an issue. Because.. pushing herself further she let the chakra burn faster. Rushing through the seals of her most powerful lightning jutsu the girl then directed it at the pond she knew would be beneath.

Please.. please.. Raijin… I really need this to hit, she almost prayed as the large bolt of lighting came down from above and crashed into the water beneath. Sizzling across its surface and rushing through the water’s body, the jutsu left Shizuka wondering if she this was enough. She felt half drained and pretty beaten. Unsure if it was time to retreat or prepare the next assault, she quietly forced the water that was rushing across the field of rotten plants back into shape.

Partly transparent the water dragon was slowly sliding around Shizuka. Soon its body turned to wood. Twisting and turned, it remained in motion. It was waiting to either strike the Jonin or defend its creator from an incoming attack.

Dwelling from within' the dense red mist, much of which resembled evil; or blood that vaporized into what it is now. For Kikai, observing Shizuka was something akin to child's play; the technique she had been using that manifested the mist was something she was quite familiarized with; hunting within' it bore no ill-favor to her own senses.
So her sights, smell and preparation was well locked onto the young Senju.

So Kikai continued the mind-games, for a little bit. Having witnessed the Senju perform the armor of wood; she made her chains clang around; utilizing the eerie powers of the mist to replicate the sound all around; her voice being carried around in a strange disjointed and death-like tone. "Let's see where your defense- and the attack will go hm?" the voice carried all around Shizuka.

And what should I do to toy with her.. I've been starting to go soft. She had swung the chains a moment the clanging coming from every single direction as she wound up some momentum. A smirk crawled back onto her face; as Shizuka started to prepare her next jutsu. The woman had sent a terrifying barrage of flying chains through the air. From all directions in a 360° radius; Shizuka was smashed into from a blur of endless chains. And nearly as fast as they all came clamoring into beat her; they slipped back into the mist. A weighted giggle escaping the Jōnin.

It was then, that Shizuka's expanse of water had washed along the earth below herself, and Kikai. As the water appeared beneath the Jōnin, she narrowed her eyes; and let one of her feet to submerge in the water; while the other soaked itself with chakra to stay atop. And she looked to the sky with the mist flowing around as there came a crackle. "Not bad. But probably not quite enough." Kikai muttered to herself, not loud enough for Shizuka to hear. As the monolithic bolt of lightning came crashing into the water; sizzling everything that it came in contact with. Including Kikai, who's body shivered with electrical pain and ferocious vehemency to the impact.

Residual lightning crackled along the woman's body as it served to injure her with. It hurt, but the pain slowly fluttered away with the surging adrenaline and power of her spirit- And Jashin's. Soon the wounds that littered her body from inside faded away with an inhuman recovery.

She then carried herself back atop the water. The sloshing clap of her feet against the water came from all directions- all of which were slowly enclosing on Shizuka's position. "Very good girl. But not quite close enough to make me feel wounded." She chuckled from inside the mist; as she eventually- mockingly came into sight. It was just her, as all the voices and the sounds of sloshing water centralized on her position.

Kikai took a deep inhale, canting her head ever so slightly and smirked. The smell of sizzling flesh and clothing came from her person- she was hit, but she looked effectively unharmed. Her eyes rest on Shizuka's last resort, the dragon that swirled around her in defiance. "Well?" Her arms extended mockingly; drawing the attention of the Genin- and the dragon. As desired.

Once the massive wooden dragon came rushing towards her; the woman grinned. "Fast- But not quite fast-" Her body then vanished from sight, a eerie and dreaded presence appeared right behind Shizuka, a heavy breath was felt at her ear. "Enough." And with that, a surreal crash cracked against Shizuka's neck.

A precise motion- One designed to subdue. Shizuka felt a locking sensation of all her joints, muscles and her body felt like stone. At that moment the daylight from above started cracking through the mist, notably. The mist started seeping back into Kikai; revealing the rather distraught landscape that the two had damaged quite a bit.

Kikai had slowly walked around to the front of Shizuka. Whether she had means to stay standing- or found herself falling to the ground. "I don't think you're quite cut for the Merces yet- You are too reluctant to strike with certainty. We are the sort that kill or be killed- and if you fail, you die. Or your allies die. We clean the messes- one way or another... You're too soft." the chains and the demonic look of Kikai had begun to recede into her person, returning her to the usual look- One of authoritarian power. Either hand found themselves at her hips. With narrowed eyes. She fell to silence for only a moment.

"But, you're not a bad fighter- Even if you're a little green. In time, you might be suited for us." Turning on her heel, letting the Senju deal with her body being in a rather critical state; she flipped a wave from over her head as she walked away. "Good luck kid."

[Senju Shizuka]

Hit but left undamaged. What the hell was this Jonin made of?!

Shifting a little she let the dragon of wood rush forward. Its body looked like a huge tree trunk, but was way more flexible. Not that it mattered. Before its fangs reached the woman the latter was already gone. For a moment Shizuka thought that she had gone back into the mist - into hiding. Then, to her horror, she realized that her opponent was standing behind her. Something about her presence caused Shizuka to freeze in her tracks. Perhaps it was the chakra drained from her and the wounds piling up. Perhaps she just had to admit to herself that this Janishist was very intimidating. About to turn and jump away, or do something in-between that would create a distance between the two of them, she found herself falling to the ground.

Like lightning the pain had shot from her neck and down her spine. Thankfully the pond was still seeping away, so as she hit the ground it was a soft landing. Soon enough her hands were placed on a muddy surface. She planned to get up despite all of the cuts, but when the Jonin made it clear that their fight was over she dropped onto her butt and leaned back. A second later her back hit the ground. Breathing heavily she let the regeneration run its course. Slowly but steadily it was closing up the worst of her wounds. Not entirely, no. That would take time.

Blinking she used one arm to lean on, getting up from the ground just enough to study the woman’s face. She was back to looking like a normal person. And she was no longer screaming things regarding Jashin. That was a relief in its own way. Grinning a little at the compliment, she was a bit too tired to form a proper reply. Of course, that didn’t mean she didn’t appreciate what was said. Being soft.. well, she didn’t find it offensive. On the other hand, being recognized by a Jonin to not be too bad of a fighter was a pleasant feeling. Even if she hadn’t managed to scratch the woman, which was a little annoying, she knew that she had given it her all and had been ‘rewarded’ for it, even if through less conventional means.

“Thanks,” was what she ended up saying before dropping back onto the bald ground. They’ve really ruined the area, she thought while her body did its best to sew itself back together. It felt like she had a cracked rib or something, or maybe the bruises from before had grown larger and made it hard to breathe now. She wasn’t sure, and would drag herself to the hospital if that should become necessary. Hopefully it wouldn’t be. She didn’t like the place. Everything was too sterile, too white.

Connecting herself to the ground beneath she added to the regeneration by feeding on the nature’s energy. This made moving impossible, but she wasn’t planning on going anywhere any time soon. Enjoying the sun that was coming through the mist, she figured that by the time the warmth would become too much she would be able to move from this location to a better one. Perhaps even manage to get home and have a shower. Then.. then she would sleep.
