It was not unheard of for the little Toraono princess to wander the Undersea, in the end, it was one of the few locations outside of her home that she was comfortable with visiting. The serenity of the place, accompanied by the various seclusive spots offered an excellent means for Reikiko to enjoy a bit of peace. Then again, she had her reasons for visiting today. With a rather unusual amount of cheerfulness, the girl was bouncing along the sandy beach that surrounded the mysterious lake she frequently used as a napping spot. But the peculiar thing about her visit today was that she wasn't alone! No, this time she was accompanied by a small figure clad in a large cloak that covered most of her body, and an oversized hat that concealed her facial features from onlookers.
Unlike Reikiko, who was cheerfully humming away and bouncing from one foot to the other in the sand the other figure remained stoic and silent, almost like a puppet. "Do you like the beach?" It was an innocent question, one with little to no ulterior motive, but for some reason, she felt inclined to ask it to her companion, or rather it was specifically asked because of the individual who was her companion. Yet instead of the desired verbal response the figure merely nodded her head in response. "I knew it~ This beach is a really pleasant sight to behold, but I can't show it to too many people or it becomes an unpleasant place..."
Another nod was made by the cloaked figure, and yet it seemed this time Reikiko was mildly displeased by the silent treatment her companion was giving her. Perhaps it was for that reason she had decided to act a bit childish and suddenly rush at her, and with a playful pounce akin to a tiger attacking her prey she tackled the cloaked figure onto the ground. "Why are you being so quiet?!" The pouting girl's question was soon answered as the hat fell off her head and the figure revealed itself to be an identical twin of Reikiko, perhaps way too identical to be natural. Even her chakra felt the same, and yet there was something different about her. "Because I am you, and talking to myself would be a bit awkward, right?" The response of the copy made sense, too much in fact as Reikiko dropped her shoulders in dejection. "It's equally awkward to see me outside of a mirror reflection..." Yet it was at those words the two girls chuckled softly and the twin finally opened her eyes, revealing that her left iris contained the Rinnegan, while the right one was seemingly blessed with the peculiar traits of the Sharingan.
No, while there might have been no reason for her to vocally talk to the other girl, or even mentally for that matter it might have been just a childish sense of coming to terms with the abilities her lineage possessed. Nevertheless, if she had not seen the development of this clone of hers firsthand, then she likely would have presumed it to be some wishful thinking. The medical science that nurtured a vessel for her, amplified by the chakra swarm of Kousotsu, in a way she was a scientifically-made clone, a modern-day Homunculus even!
Of course, she still had to think about how to handle the entire existence of this new vessel she possessed. "Perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to keep on acting like this Rei-Ni" As Reikiko climbed off her clone and took a step backward the clone nodded her head curtly in response. "A logical reasoning, it is not unheard of for people to fool themselves psychologically to avoid breaking down mentally. Shinobi who deal with the more grim aspects of the shinobi world often even adopt entirely different psyches to withstand the emotional and psychological pressure upon their minds." Yet the Sharingan-eyed girl's response stirred a chuckle from Reikiko who merely mused in amusement "You totally stole that quote from a book we recently read."
Still, it seemed Reikiko's interest had already quickly diverted to bouncing onto some rocks near the shore, eagerly observing the fishes while the other Reikiko instead had decided to move over into the shade of some nearby rocks, preferring to just observe things from a peaceful and quiet location. Quite a peculiar sight to behold for most!
