Physical Description:
Souta is of medium height and build. He has wavy red hair, let to grow a bit, a lot like his father. His body has no scars from the accident where a lot of it was damaged. Though he does have a few scars here and there, mostly minor, from all the training he did. Typical of a lot of shinobi, probably.
Souta tends to wear black shinobi garb, including a black shirt and very light vest, along with long pants. The Uchiha logo is clearly woven at the back of his vest. He has a standard shinobi pouch attached to his belt, and standard issue equipment too.
Mental Description:
Souta is proud, at least searching for the capability to be proud again. He is willing and more than happy to listen to and learn from others. He grew up with a lot of love from his family. His siblings, both having awakened their Sharingan prior to the accident, were particularly affectionate and spirit-raising when it comes to his incapability to show his clan’s powers. This allowed Souta to be generally pleasant and accepting of his ‘defectiveness’, but nonetheless it was still a touchy subject and when teased or after he had suppressed his emotions for long enough on the topic, he has a tendency to lash out. He does not want to, but well, painful is still painful.
History:
Souta was born to Yumiko and Tooro from the Uchiha clan. He has two older siblings, the eldest being a boy and the second child being a girl.
Both his parents were shinobi, and the three siblings aspired to follow their parents’ footsteps. When he was only one year old, his father tragically passed away during a mission. His mother grieved for a time, but with her eldest child only nine years old at that time, she kept strong and moved on, willing herself to take care of her family.
Four years later when Yumiko turned 31, she met Zentaru Tatsuya, a shinobi from Kumogakure. They fell in love, though Yumiko was initially hesitant, feeling the pressure of putting her children first preventing her from committing.
As fate would have it, their destinies would be nonetheless intertwined.
In a terrible accident, Yumiko and her three children while on a hike were crushed by falling rocks. Yumiko lost her left arm in the incident, but her children all fared much worse.
Tatsuya, who knew she was out with her children, had wanted to surprise the entire family - not only with his knowledge of the children’s existence, but also his willingness to take them on as his own. What he stumbled upon when he found them however was horrific.
Seeing the mangled bodies, Tatsuya went into emergency mode. He was able to carry all of them - especially since everyone had at least lost some weight - and brought them to the only man he knew could do something about it: Himawari Henkeitori.
Henkeitori, despite his last name, was of the Henkeisho clan, one who prided themselves on genetic modification and body manipulation. Seeing the barely living bodies in front of him, Henkeitori knew exactly what to do.
In the basement of his temporary home, Henkeitori had set up a bit of a research lab. He had Yumiko and her three children placed in separate vats, with various contraptions inside and out that would keep them each temporarily, barely alive. Time was not on their side, and their treatment would need to begin as soon as possible.
Henkeitori ran through the treatment plan with Tatsuya, predominantly because the latter would be a key part of the process. The procedure requires the recombination of very distinct DNA, which Henkeitori can combine with boosters to release a large surge of energy that could be harnessed to promote rapid and accurate regeneration, which would allow the Uchiha family to recover fully. This was apparently based on a procedure by
However, the contributor of DNA has to be alive and basically immobilized during the procedure, so Henkeitori could not do it. Tatsuya however, could be this donor.
Fast forward a week, and Tatsuya and Yumiko were watching over their three children as they were recovering. While they were now stable and healthy, there were still changes within the body that rendered them unconscious. After all, their DNA was being re-written and was re-consolidating, until their genomes could settle on a final configuration. Tatsuya was now, essentially, their other biological father. This was clear, as while the majority of the children’s hair were still black as they were originally, new growth was red - like Tatsuya’s.
Fast forward six years later.
Souta was now 11 years old, and registered as an academy student. Slightly later than his siblings and other shinobi children, but it was at his own pace.
He was not slow or anything, but for a time he had felt rather unworthy.
Before the accident, Souta had already had signs of awakening his Sharingan. Moments of ‘slowed time’, moments of predicting the future, albeit just very short moments forward. Even his eyes seemed like they were changing.
But with the accident and subsequent treatment, it all went away. Henkeitori explained that it was a side effect of the genome rewiring. Souta was not angry at neither Henkeitori nor Tatsuya. He was very grateful for being alive. He love his father and uncle, but he could nonetheless not stop himself from feeling sorry for himself. It was painful after all. He could have been a prodigy, but now he was just like any other.
It took a long time, but now he was ready again to progress, no matter how slow it may be.
