Mission time!
Maji and Ippin made their way to the library. Their assignment was to examine a strange piece of metal and learn of its true capabilities. It seemed simple enough, well, kind of. The boy didn't know much about metals, elements, or anything related to chemistry yet, but he'd give it a shot!
Reaching the library, he approached the librarian and handed her the mission slip. She nodded and guided him to a room where the metal was contained. When he entered, he saw a small, brick-like silver colored metal lying on a mahogany table. It didn't look too exciting or special – no, it appeared rather dull. Maji scratched his head as if this was going to be a pain, but then smiled and gave the librarian a thumb's up.
He got to work.
He played with the metal a bit, but it didn't do anything spectacular. It had cool markings on it that made it look ancient, but as far as he could tell, that's all it. The tan-skinned student bit it, tried to bend it, and even threw it around a few times. It didn't effect it at all.
“What does this do...” he muttered as if he was going to give up. Suddenly, he took out a pocket knife in attempts to peel or chip it. Upon the withdrawal of his blade, the metal stuck to it. It was magnetic! “Cool!” he shouted out as his white teeth shone brightly with a grin. After doing some more tests, he made a report and handed it to the librarian. This was a short mission, but it was kind of cool. It wasn't dangerous like the one the Steward usually assigned him, but that gave him relief. He was glad that he finished his task without any risk of getting killed and/or hurt.
Mission success!
