Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been quite awhile since the Barnyx attack that had many of the strongest shinobi of Sand and foreign working together to take down this common enemy. It was a difficult fight, but all the combatants had managed to work with one another enough to save the village and their own hides thankfully. Unfortunately, many of the shinobi had been infected with the Red Death, a legendary and rare disease from Ancient times, that could quickly kill even the strongest shinobi with the snap of the finger. But through the wise preparations from his brother, Toraono Kuro, the descendant of Byakko and his brother had managed to isolate the infected and heal them as naturally as possible by allowing them to soak in chambers that would attack the disease head-on and eliminate it completely from their bodies like magic!

However, there was one individual who had been heavily targeted during the fight and who should've known better than to disappear with her brother without seeking medical attention: Kasen. She was one of the village's strongest medics in combat and in the field, but she had gone AWOL since the attack. He had to question if she had recovered from her injuries or if she had died from them...either way, he wanted answers and decided to seek out her brother who he knew was also in the fight based on the similarities in appearance. He had actually sent a letter out to the residence of the two siblings with no response initially. But, he had kept sending out letters until he got one back setting a date and time that he would meet with her brother who apparently went by the name, Kaen.

With that date and time set, the descendant prepared himself to meet with Kaen at his home and today was finally the day that they would meet. He had instructed Byakko guards to guard the entrance to his home and to only notify him when the man was present waiting for him. The guards would tell the man that Kyuji would come and escort him to the Byakko Estate himself and when Kyuji would come, he would be wearing a black and gold kimono that concealed his entire body but his face and a part of his neck. But first, the Kaen fellow needed to appear and ask for Kasen's former sensei.

Go visit him, she said. It should be fun and beneficial, she said. Everything should go just fine, she said. Who was this she? Kasen, who else? It was true the pair had never formally been introduced or even talked for that matter. Kasen's old mentor of the medical arts, someone that was completely shrouded in mystery, at least in Kaen's eyes. He had little to know knowledge about him with the exception of a few random iotas of information that Kasen let slip and that day they all fought that vicious sandwyrm. But even then he wasn't exactly getting to know anybody that day, mostly just trying to survive. After what could only be the 100th letter this guy sent, Kaen finally responded, rather than burning them as he had been. They agreed upon a date for him to come over and "chat". What ever that meant... Kaen could only guess as to the true purpose of this house call. With not much time and nothing really to give him an excuse of backing out, Kaen just kinda said F it and left the house. Kasen was absent, probably off doing girl things with her.

It wasn't a terribly long walk, really. The Toraono Dojo seemed an interesting enough place to live. I guess no better place for the head of medical to live than the front gates. This is where most of the action might take place if shit were to ever hit the metaphorical fan. This and that he didn't have far to go if he was requested in the field. Kaen on the other hand lived pretty far from here, it would take him a short while to get from there to here. All the while Kaen had already arrived at the dojo, the front door in sight down the street where he stood. But for some reason he was lost in deep thought over this strange notion of where to live... Blinking his eyes a few times after nearly being ran over by a passing cart, Kaen realized he was spacing off again.

"One Kaen of the Shinku house, here to visit Medical Chief, Kyuji of the Byakko house." That sounded weird... But come on, the guy had guards standing guard outside a massive dojo house thing. This guy must have been some sort of royalty, or important in some other means. Why else would he be so heavily fortified?! One of the guards that stood watch on the outer doors went inside to possibly retrieve their "master" of sorts. Kaen could only imagine what this guy was like. He was probably horribly bookish and weird, mad scientist type of guy perhaps... Kasen already weirded him out enough with the medical things she could do, hell she grew her damn stomach back. Kaen shuddered at that thought. Or maybe he was super normal...

A quick knock could be heard from outside of Kyuji's study along with a mention that the fellow that he had requested was waiting for him at the entrance. This excited the dearest Byakko as he nodded at his guard thanking him in the process as he rose from his seat and proceeded to head towards the entrance to his home. The walk to the entrance of their home wouldn't be too long, but he would ponder on some matters surrounding this man and his sister as he made his way there. First and foremost, he had no information regarding this male at all except that he was related to Kasen and they had very similar features in more ways than one based on the recent fight. He also had noted that the male used fire ninjutsu exclusively while they were fighting off Barynx which was something that they both had similar in their fighting styles unless Kaen had changed how he was fighting since then; that was almost a definitive no according to the descendant, but what did he know! Lastly, he had cared enough about his sister to carry her dead-weight on his shoulder away from the battleground and probably protected her and treated her as much as he could. Certainly would need to gather more intel on Kaen.

And he was at the entrance absorbing the appearance of the man as he extended his left, and only, hand to the man with a welcoming smile on his face and a strong tone in his voice: "It is good to finally meet you, Kaen. I am Byakko Kyuji, Medical Chief and the descendant of Lord Byakko. I am also the man who summoned you today. How are you feeling since the Barnyx incident? Any short or long-term concerns that you would like to discuss with me?"

So, it had begun. The descendant of Byakko could've approached the situation through other angles surely, but this was still not a worse way to approach it. But, it appeared he was taking one of the most safest routes that he could considering he still didn't know much about the man that was in front of him and making assumptions based on his sister was not something you could do for any siblings. Surely with time, the two men would take these initial awkward moments and turn it into a blissful, professional and caring relationship with one another. After all, he would need to have more allies on his side with the possibility of traveling to another country and wanting escorted OR just more eyes and ears to help him in the village with some projects that he was going to start as soon as he was given the thumbs-up from the Kazekage. In any case, it would be good to know Kaen at the very least for his sister since Kasen had gone completely quiet and dropped completely off the radar for the Byakko.

With an extended hand, most likely a gesture of good intentions, a man garbed in a robe greeted Kaen. Strike one, he was a lefty... Ok not really, but he found it peculiar that he was attempting to shake his hand with his left, Kaen didn't know anyone who was left handed. Kaen, also with good intentions took the man's hand in his own and smiled. "It is good to finally meet you, Kaen. I am Byakko Kyuji, Medical Chief and the descendant of Lord Byakko. I am also the man who summoned you today. How are you feeling since the Barnyx incident? Any short or long-term concerns that you would like to discuss with me?" Well alright then. Blunt, straight forward and to the point. The entire subject had been rather sensitive for a while there, even to the point of nearly fracturing the relationship between Kasen and himself. Kasen had yet to recover from that day, Kaen on the other hand had made recompense since then with a certain woman. He would not be so easily taken the next time around. Kasen had already repaired any lasting damage that may have lingered with him after the Barynx incident, so he was good there. "Likewise, Kasen has told me... well very little about you. I'm fine, however, Kasen did a wonderful job with my post fight healing, I suppose I have you to thank for her skills ha ha." This was really unlike him, so chatty with someone he didn't really know... But this is what Kasen wanted, she said he needed to get out more and make more friends. Who knows, maybe this guy was pretty cool, there was one way to find out... "I'd love to take a look at your estate, I'm impressed someone could afford something like this. The medical fields bust be very lucrative." Might as well have a look around, the initial impression was alright, a few minor details that would need answering later, but might be a little rude to outright say it now.

With the response and laughter from the redhead, the Byakko himself returned the gesture with a smile on his face. It was true that he did teach Kasen how to medically treat someone before, but she ran her own operations away from the Hospital in the village and he respected that. Personally, he knew when she said that she wanted to run her own place that she wouldn't be returning to the Hospital anytime soon unless she personally was carried in there from her brother or another shinobi that was around her at the time. Sadly, she probably should've been carried there after the Barynx attack, but as long as she was doing alright...it didn't completely matter and he assumed she was fine since her brother was standing here and would've said otherwise.

He would hear the man request entry into his home after mentioning how impressive it was and how expensive it must be. The simple older male would chuckle to his younger counterpart and respond simply as followed: "I suppose it is impressive. It is much better than where I lived before coming to Wind Country and you may come in. Follow me." He would then turn his back to the young man and proceed to take him into his estate.

As they walked, he would keep quiet to allow Kaen to take in everything as they took a stroll directly to the center of his home where a majority of the residents and facilities branched off into their own respective corridors. While they had been walking however, Kaen would've seen pristine, white walls that surrounded them and could possibly blind someone if they stared for too long. The tiles on the floor were marble as they had headed inward, but also white as well. It wouldn't have been a surprise to see a few members of the Byakko Clan strolling around as well and easy to make out by their feline-like characteristics, but surely Kaen would also have seen the many Byakko guards that were protecting certain rooms from people entering or leaving. Hell, it was even possibly if he wasn't too awestruck to see some of the doors locked and chained up for various reasons that will not be disclosed because it is a secret. In the end, the entire place was practically white everywhere and so clean and kept up with. It practically looked new.

As they were at the center of his home, he would turn around and just smile at Kaen, but say nothing.

Kyuji chuckled softly before replying; "I suppose it is impressive. It is much better than where I lived before coming to Wind Country and you may come in. Follow me." It was weird, trying to make new friends. The trouble of trying to make good first impressions, feeling the other person out for oddities and quirks. Kyuji might have to look deep if he wanted to discover any of his, the Byakko's however was almost instantly noticeable. It would become almost painful to not see the evidence everywhere he looked... "Cats..." Kaen would quietly whisper under his breath, everywhere he looked he could see what could only be various members of this Byakko Clan. I mean... Kaen could deal with Kyuji having these strange characteristics, but a whole clan of people?! In this day and age nothing was really out of the ordinary, everyone had some sort of special snowflake detail that separated them from everyone else. But a whole clan sharing the same feline type characteristics? I mean I guess it's not weird just uncommon maybe? Given that Kyuji was a shinobi, and not to mention his peculiar "traits", he most likely heard Kaen's words. He would only hope it didn't offend him as he wasn't intending to be rude, it was just surprising is all.

Kaen's eyes would be momentarily in shock as he walked through the grand foyer, it would take them a moment to be able to stand such impeccable cleanliness. He almost felt like he had died and passed through the pearly gates of heaven. Everything was white, blindingly so, even the floors! The first thing that peaked his curiosity (no pun intended regarding the whole cat/curiosity deal) was the number of [feline] guards that littered the interior. Kyuji had himself a small army in here, this wasn't even counting the possible shinobi trained Byakkos that weren't in "Guard Uniform". The second thing were a few of the doors, they had been chained shut and guards posted outside each one. What could possible be behind them?!?! They eventually came to the center of his massive home, Kyuji would turn to face Kaen, only smiling. The pair would stand there in awkward silence for a few moments, Kaen with a raised eyebrow completely lost and confused as to what the hell he was doing. He had to break the silence...

"So this is weird, right? What am I even doing here?" It was kind of weird, he was just staring and smiling after all. Normally he wouldn't be creeped out by such silly things, but he has this whole Cheshire cat deal going on and the silence was messin up his head. While he said this he would shift his feet a little and place his right hand behind his head, scratching the back of his neck. He forced a smile, but it was obvious it was fake and only there to help ease the weird tension. In the back of his head he knew ways to ease the tension and for them both to know each other a little better while simultaneously gain respect from the other. He was itching to have one for a while now, that scene from the nightclub was alright, but ever since then his thirst for it grew each day he did not give in to his peculiar desires. But to do it in here? That would be messy and he might feel bad for ruining his nice white things.

Thankfully, one of them broke the silence being Kaen and it was an awkward statement that the man made but Kyuji definitely didn't make things simple at all either by being so quiet. He would quickly respond to the dude with the following: "Haha, yeah it is kinda weird...but the reason I----"

Before he could finish his explanation, one of his Byakko medics rushed into the room and it was easy to tell something was the matter. As the medic told him through a whisper in his ear, Kyuji would nod with a little annoyance appearing on his face at what they needed him for. But, it was something that he could probably only do since he was the direct descendant of Lord Byakko and one of the top medical shinobi in the village. He was just annoyed that this meeting was being cut so abruptly before either male could really say anything, but that was life.

When the medic left, he would sigh heavily and respond with only something quickly: "Duty calls unfortunately so sorry for wasting your time today. You can be escorted or walk out yourself, it doesn't matter either way. We will be in contact though, Kaen, so make sure to check your mail as I will probably be summoning you in the future." He would then give a bow before walking away towards the direction of the Byakko Infirmary. It was time to get down to business.

Kyuji had begun to speak, releasing the silent tension that had been building up, only to be interrupted by what could only be one of his subordinates. They whispered something in his ear before hurrying off to who knows where. He had a distraught yet annoying look upon his face as if duty called. "Duty calls unfortunately so sorry for wasting your time today. You can be escorted or walk out yourself, it doesn't matter either way. We will be in contact though, Kaen, so make sure to check your mail as I will probably be summoning you in the future." Yep, duty calls. Though I suppose the life of the medical chief is not one filled with relaxation and free time. Kaen was glad he did not have such responsibilities, for the time being anyways. Such things are a burden on personal goals and ambitions. Kaen would nod and bow as Kyuji departed. Kaen admired the grand foyer before making his way back towards the exit. He paused a moment to glance at that door again... He really wanted to know what was behind there... Afterwards Kaen left and strolled back home, perhaps Kasen was in a talkative mood today...
