Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Character's Physical Description:
Having worked with stone for a large part of his life and on farmland for the other, his hands are callused. Training as a shinobi has also defined his body to a peak that would be common for young men; however it is softer than most, his muscles never taking on a hard definition. A moderate complexion is met by a mop of unkempt white hair, an oddity that was passed along from his mother's side of the family. His height also seems to stretch his body out a bit more than it was originally built for, making him appear a bit lanky, and at times a tad clumsy. Chocolate brown eyes add to the childish innocence he carries about him, a young energy glowing from within.

Most of this held true for the Chuunin for many years, but his time under the scientific knife of the Daimyo's finest experimental surgeons has altered his frame significantly. They drew in his limbs to remove the odd, potential stumbling he was prone to. The muscles of his body, through alteration or survival during his long captivity grew and reinforced his frame; attributed to the unusual powers no resting within him. Most notable of changes is the color of his eyes, no longer of their earthy hue, but one of the most piercing of bright blues; like that of a perfectly clear day over Soon's Haven.
While his attire was once modest of a casual worker, since his time fleeing from the Cabal attacks and his prison wardens, he has adapted into a more combative style that shows the shinobi side that he had kept tucked away for so long. The most iconic piece of garb he wears now is a hooded scale jacket that is resistant to all weathers, rumored to be skinned from a rare creature lost to the sands of Wind Country. Otherwise he carries a large duffel bag filled with various trinkets, stones, pieces of scrap metal, paper and his odds and ends to make for a simple pack.
Character's Mental Description:
Uri is what one would describe as innocent. As a child he was carefree and wanted for not, playing with building blocks and eating candy like any normal child. As he grew up, he discovered that the way his village expected to be was boring and dull, and that his memories of childhood were far better not worrying about the troubles of adulthood. Many would think him a slacker in his endeavors, but this would be untrue. Due to the fact he is always seeking fun, he invents ways to enjoy his work. Life isn't about being overly serious or being shackled by duty.

~~

No longer that sweet, smiling handyman after everything he had been through. Discovering that most of his life had been false and he was the cause to so much death and suffering tore him apart. While he had sworn to never take another person's life, he had been forced to take hundreds with a gift he had thought would be the source of relief for thousands.

Redemption consumed his thoughts as he wanted to repent for his atrocious crimes, to make known what it was he had done and offer himself up to those who he wronged the most, among them being one of his best friends, the Steward. To be judged would be one way for him to find peace again, to be brought to justice for what he had done.

But lurking in the back of his torrent of tortured thoughts was another creeping desire, one of vengeance and retribution that decimated the Daimyo's entire world. Not just him, but everyone attached to him and outward, perhaps even taking the whole Capital. Uri was unstable in the grandest of ways, unknowing that he was such a threat to everyone despite his desire to never do such acts again.
Character History:
Uri grew up in Sand Country without a need in the world. His family weren't wealthy be any means, making it by on doing stonework and pottery for the village. Growing up, his favorite toys were a set of stone building blocks his father had made for him. With these he would create grand structures for his imaginary adventures; castles grand, dojo most sacred. As he got older, he began helping his father in his workshop with the stone orders, learning the tricks of the trade. It was around the time he graduated the academy as genin when his father fell ill. Unfortunately, the sickness would claim his life only after a few short months. During this span, Uri had picked up the tools of his father's trade and had started fulfilling orders as to be able to support his mother. This continued on for many years, and during it all, he would occasionally seek out shinobi missions to help pay for their needs, never being away longer than he needed to be from his mother.

Around the time he was eighteen, and living in place of his father, it had become clear that he had felt cheated from his own life. Although blind, his mother could clearly see that her son was unhappy and encouraged him to find his own way. At first this involved him partaking in more shinobi-activities for the village, refining his ability as a ninja. That too proved to be boring and not feed the insatiable desire to be something more. It was after much thought and deliberation with his sole parent that he spend some years outside of the village traveling to other countries.

Passport in hand, he spent the next ten years abroad, exploring the continent. This brought with it many hardships and experiences that he wouldn't have been able to have within the protective embrace of his village. In Sunagakure there always seemed to be an answer for everything; if something went wrong, it was soon fixed by one of the many great people residing there. Out in lands without shinobi, plagued by sickness, storms, bandits, famine, and more Uri had to learn to approach things in different ways. He saw people in need and would spend weeks in one location doing as much as he could. Using his ability to work with stone, he would build shelters for those in dire need, erect walls for smaller villages being harassed by bandits. When his wanderings took him to other villages, he would admire the architecture, awe-struck by how different it was to what he was used to back home and by comparison to all the tiny settlements he had encountered.

While he was a ninja from sand, he traveled as a neutral observer of the world, unbiased by all he saw. New places brought with it new possibilities. And everyone needed help, in some small way, shape, or form. Whenever within the walls of a larger village, he sought construction work so he might be able to work under someone who had experience in that region's techniques. If no such job presented itself, he found a menial labor job to spend time within the village and see how it worked, see the people and live in the culture. These jobs often varied between building jobs, statue commissions, stock-boy at a merchant's shop, janitor at a hot springs, and other numerous, but experience-rich jobs.

Far away from home, he remains connected to the sandy dunes of Wind Country via letters with his mother and a faceless tinkerer, Sousuke who was a kindred spirit in creation.

After his decade of travel, he returns home with his new-found knowledge and enlightenment from the world outside.

~~

Uri's retreat from the village as Akio had left him in a most terrible of spots. One where his concerned mother couldn't comprehend what was happening and only trusted that her son knew what was best. When they arrived at a small fishing village in the deep south of Wind Country, Uri explained himself and all of what had happened through a veil of tears. Regardless of his actions, his blind mother comforted him and told him to go do what he needed in order to set things right.

Little did she know that she wouldn't see her son again.

Captured by the Daimyo's men during his assassination attempt, he was put back into experimental procedures until he eventually freed himself (See Kinjutsu App).

Several more months went by as he lived in a cave somewhere in the middle of Wind Country, learning what his new abilities were capable of and how to control them. The world around him seemed to ripple constantly, changing and shaping itself into something else, but never holding onto that form for long. Voices spoke to him, but he was fully aware that they weren't in his head, these voices were of someone else's mind. The bodily transformations were painful, but under the influence of the mark controllable and malleable. To his surprise it was much like stone shaping he had learned growing up and was able to apply the same principles to help gain prominence.

At the end of his time as a hermit, he discovered his location and soon found his way back to the Capital, taking the chance to purchase normal clothing and settle in, learning the area. He wanted to see the smug face of the bastard who had used him twice and then take his life, but somewhere in the streets of the shopping district he had stopped himself, the sight of a small child and a single mother laughing about some joke. That moment was when he remembered what he had wanted to do, and what he needed to do. Vanishing from the grand city, he made his way back to his first home, Sunagakure.

Camp set up several miles away from the village, high enough for him to observe the growing structures on the surface, he did what he always did when he wanted to speak with Sousuke. He wrote him a letter and sent it to him by an animated obsidian bird.
Kinjutsu Request: Abomination
Uri's chakra had always contained unique properties to it, being of an unusual and volatile nature it proved difficult to control. This had stunted young Uri from ever acceding as a shinobi, but put him on pace to graduate and with a future in paperwork. It was his decision to take a ten-year trip abroad that had changed his life. The first two years were spent in Wind Country, with the many nooks and crannies to explore and observe, but during this time he was taken prisoner by a shadowy group of figures. Little had he known while exploring some Ancient ruins, he had also stumbled across a laboratory that housed dozens of taboo and forbidden experiments to test the limits of mankind and step beyond them. While his capture had just been a moment of opportunity, his chakra had proven fascinating to their scientists and his background valuable to them. Soon he was the center of their attention as they sliced, diced, poked, and prodded the young chuunin until he couldn't feel or think anymore.

A fog set over him for what felt like years.

Then one day he snapped awake, resting in a bunk to a sailing barge chartered to Wind Country. Memories flooded his mind and suddenly he realized he had just been experiencing some odd nightmare as he recalled the last ten years of his life leading up to that exact moment with him heading home finally.

Little had he known that his memories were false ones.

The stories tell themselves and the destruction Sunagakure suffered was unparalleled.

As he crawled his way out of the rumbled from the entire city block, his mind was torn asunder with memories of two different lives. The one he was so familiar with and another of a prisoner strapped to a table, being tortured for years upon years without relenting. Unable to bear the guilt of what he had done, he finds his mother and flees the village using one of the only safe exits that existed.

While he stashed his beloved mother somewhere she would be safe, Uri sought to exact vengeance for what had been done to him, and he had come to know with certainty of the man who had given him his orders. The Daimyo of Wind Country, the man responsible for his creation and that of many others. The twisted, unstable power he had hoped to bring life to the world had only been used for a singular purpose, one Uri had no control over until that moment. Returning to the Capital under the guise of his alias, Akio, he intended to level the entire compound and take the manipulative bastard with him, but to no avail his arrival was met with an ambush and his powers taken from him like a switch being flipped. Wise to have set Uri's conditioning to have him commit suicide and sink the village with him if the attacks failed, his return was met with hostility.

Understanding the value of his power meant he was not slain on the spot for his attempt and instead was tied back to the same table he had remembered from years ago. They would turn him into a weapon of mass destruction or kill him trying. If they succeeded to alter his chakra into anything stronger or dangerous, all they would have to do is dump him at the gates and leave him for someone to find and his eventual meltdown would destroy miles, including every last Sunan.

They intended on taking their time and while Uri couldn't count the days he was knew he had been in the swirling, drug-induced darkness for months. He resisted, or he thought he was, his mind told him he was, but he never loosened his bindings and he never startled the surgeons constantly working on him. Days in and days out all appeared to be the same. The sweet-loving shinobi was more than aware of being cut open numerous times and his internal organs being rearranged or removed or modified. Nothing seemed to be changing, but things did appear to be escalating in enough time. In the darkness time seemed to not exist, but Uri counted the seconds in his head, and even when he would blackout, he would awake to the numbers still ascending.

It wasn't until one day that an explosive pain wracked his body that everything changed. His mind was constantly on fire and he couldn't seem to find the blaze to put it out. Soon his senses blurred into white hazes and what he had once known around him vanished. It was unbearable, to the point that he wished he could kill him, but couldn't, and despite the immense trauma his body wouldn't allow him to fall unconscious. Later he would surmise they had kept him awake during the process; to suffer or for medical reasons he did not know.

Twisting, swirling nether of black and white sand clouded what was left of his own thoughts, consumed with the impossible suffering he was enduring for what seemed to come without end. Until the storm dispersed and his vision cleared, returning him onto that table, but there was one face he did not recognize. A hooded man, whose features were shrouded by living, writhing shadows. His palm was retracting from Uri's form and all stared at one point on his body, where a dull throb seemed to course from. Before he could inspect the new blemish, his mind would be washed away in a chemical cocktail and he would pass out.

Months more would pass and more episodes would occur, but with each time came different sensations. There was a growing hollow emotion that was becoming more malevolent as time went on. From that spot on his mid-section radiated a comfort in the torture he sustained. Splinters of himself would break away as more pain was inflicted upon him.

You see these machines they have attached to you? They're not completely modern. they're of something older, more archaic and arcane than purely medicine.

They will twist you and turn you into another weapon from which you home won't survive.

Take away the last twelve years and what have you become? Nothing. A weak, pathetic shambling failure whose ability was shaping rocks. Die to save yourself the humiliation.

Grow. Rage. Extend. Turn savage and tear apart all of those who wronged you, who threatened you, who didn't think you were more than a maintenance worker.

What of the lives you took? How can you reconcile what you've done and continue on accepting those losses?

Eradicate everything, everyone, every human, every ancient, every ninja, every living essence and leave nothing behind. This era has had its turn. Turn the tumblers and release Armageddon upon them.

The voices were all different, all demanding and demeaning, all threatening to crack away the last sane echo in his mind..

..Then came a singular voice that spoke to the dwindling psyche of the chuunin,

Rise above. Become superior. Achieve that which none think is possible and raise those who you have buried out of perdition.

It resonated on a level so familiar that it made tears come to his eyes. One of his doctors noticed this and he was immediately dosed and thrown back into the thrall of inky slumber.

Before he awoke, flashes of images pulsed through his mind. Those dead or dying beneath the rubble of the Kazekage tower, the citizens from the Desert Crown being executed, the last battles along side his comrades before he saw a rock slide crush him. Each event was vivid and with it specific emotions and physical markers that made the moment real in his mind, but also with each instance was a subtle, almost imperceptible ping, like a pin being dropped in a noisy room. It was a sensation he was not a stranger to, it was a noise he discovered laced throughout the decade of memories that weren't his. These were the false outcomes of the attack and were setup to place Uri back in the village to finish the job as whatever they managed to ply him into being.

Be not afraid.

That same commanding, familiar voice rang out and his mind flooded with images.

Shadowy caverns, blinking lights and glass jars containing all manner of organic substance. Most would have found it revolting, but Uri didn't because he recognized the environment. Venturing further into the memory, he pushed through the ever-thinning haze into a room filled with workers in white lab coats and in the center of the room was a person strapped to a large metal table.

He didn't need to look to see it was him.

As he walked through the scene everyone there ignored his presence and he was able to walk right up to himself and stare into the brilliant blue eyes that had overtaken his chocolate brown ones.

Be not afraid... He whispered and the whole room lurched in a rush. Minutes seemed to turn into hours like second hands ticking by on a clock and before long he watched his entire captivity occur right before his own eyes. Every incision, every radical or experimental treatment, the observations made of his mental state, right down to the moment his whole mind was set ablaze, but he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Before he was the grotesque transformation of his own body, bones breaking and flesh tearing as something struggled to climb free from the depths of his own form. It continued on for quite some time until the mysterious cloaked figure had appeared and placed a strange black mark upon his stomach. That moment was when the ravaging of his physical form had ceased and he blacked out. That hooded figure would never appear, but Uri watched in horrified awe as they now began forcing the transformations through strange machines that were wired to his body. As the experiments escalated, they began wearing heavy suits to counteract the powerful ripples of virulent chakra that lashed out at them.

A hand reached down to his belly and he could feel the presence of the mark resting on his skin. It was more than just something scribbled onto him, he felt it like one knew someone was watching them while they were all alone. It was unnerving and he wondered whether or not it was him causing his chakra to attack them or the presence attached to him.

Events jumped again and sped by at incredible rates, reaching the point he observed two large needles being drilled into his head, presumably to alter his memories. that meant he was rapidly approaching the moment he had managed to step out of his own form and watch everything.

Had he died?

Was he a spirit being shown his demise?

Then time froze and stunned eyes followed as the laboratory seemed to melt away in a series of memories that weren't his. It exploded and was rebuilt several times. Many figures wore the symbols of the Capital, but before long the lab turned into something much older and the forms were clad in armor. Generations raced by and before long he was face-to-face with a man wearing a piercing white mask.

To those who are not yet of this world, if this is ever to reach you, know that my intent was that of good. Ambition overtook my better judgement and things were created that crossed too many moral and ethical lines. If you are hearing this, then we were not thorough enough and somehow you've been integrated with a terrible power. Destroy who it is that has done this and do the responsible thing and end your own life in such a manner that none may every recover your body.

Torrential winds would carry him away from that moment and drop him back in front of his captured self. Whoever had spoken to him had been right. There was an overwhelming feeling of dread willing up in him since the mark had been placed on his body. From outside himself he was able to see the control it brought to the unstable conditions they had forced upon him and understood that the power they implanted in him was beyond their own control. They had created a super weapon and set the trigger to a roulette.

Reaching out, he touched his own hand and his sleeping form immediately snapped awake in response. The shock would only last a moment before he himself was alert and struggling against his restraints. Every fiber of his being screamed in protest as he moved, but he could feel the infectious chakra pounding through his system, dispelling any drugs or chemicals inhibiting him. While everyone realized what was happening, they all seemed to slow down into movement a quarter of their normal speed and before long they stopped moving altogether.

Uri was under no such spell. It took only a few moments for him to escape his binds, tear from him the numerous needles and tubes invading his body, and stood up on unsteady legs. Unsure as what to make of it, he approached one of the workers and soon realized they were still moving, but at a sliver of normal speed.

As clarity set over him, he was beset by anger towards what all had happened there. Pressing his palms against the very table that had held him, he waited to feel his chakra pour out and infect the object to turn it into an explosive, but to no avail no sensation came and he stared at the runic symbols burned into his hands. They didn't work anymore, but he could feel the power within himself. Eyes turned to the dull ache at his mid-section and he embraced the alien existence, fueling it with his anger and feeling a euphoric release overtake him as he watched the entire lab around him whither away into dust. The power soon became too much and he whited out, rousing face down in a dune, miles from anywhere that seemed like civilization.

Reduced to rags dangling from his shoulders, he tore away what was left of his garment and stared at the brand upon his stomach. There was a certainty that he had decimated that lab and all of those in it, but how could he know that who he was now was himself and not just another story implanted?

Particles of sand drifted by like feathers on the wind, taking almost a languid descent to the earth at his feet, and before long he noticed everything seemed to move at a crawl. A side-effect of the experiments? A repercussion of his abuse of the mark?

It would be impossible to know, but he was certain of one thing. He wouldn't be safe near anyone else until he had time to learn what was done to him.
