Due to some recent drama on and off the site the Administration has added some information to our Code of Conduct.
NC's Social Expectations for all Players:
- You are responsible for what you say. People can see it and people can record it. If you wonder if something can be taken the wrong way, might be rude or inappropriate, don't say it because you cannot take it back once it is already said.
- Repeat after me -- "What I command of the bots is my responsibility." Our NC Discord Chat is considered "safe for work" meaning that explicit content is NOT to be shared on our channel. Do NOT blindly ask the bot to search for videos, terms or pictures that might be explicit because your account will be held responsible for the content shared.
- Do NOT troll or harass users.
- When reporting someone for trolling or harassment please send us logs and screenshots of the incident.
- Make sure that you understand what a "reportable troll is" -- if you have to explain to us how something is a troll in more words than look at this or this is a troll because this person knows this about me then it is not a troll.
- Do not flame or flame bait.
- When reporting someone for trolling or harassment please send us logs and screenshots of the incident.
- Make sure that you understand what a "reportable flame or bait is" -- if you have to explain to us how something is a bait or a flame in more words than look at this or this is a bait because this person knows this about me then it is not a flame or a bait.
- Flirting and Sexually-Charged Humor:
- Everyone has a different sense of humor and different boundaries, understand this.
- If someone asks you to stop making certain types of advances towards them or use certain humor regarding them, accept this with grace and stop. The correct answer is NOT to give them a sarcastic response, make them feel guilty or prudish. If you continue to make advances or partake in sexually-charged humor with a user that has asked you to stop, NC will consider this harassment.
- It is each and every players personal responsibility to make their boundaries clear. It is impossible for someone to know your boundaries until you define them.
- If we are asked to intervene because someone is making you uncomfortable with their sexual remarks or flirtatious behavior please know that our first question is going to be "did you tell them that this makes you uncomfortable" and we are going to be asking you for a screenshot of this before we intervene.
- If we discover that someone has been complaining to other users about another user who has been harassing them with their sexually charged humor or flirtatious behavior but they have not went to the player in question and told them to stop but have been sharing logs with other players we might consider this bullying on your part because you are framing this user as being inappropriate and making you uncomfortable but you have failed to notify them that you want this to stop or that they have been crossing your personal boundaries.
- Do not expect other people to tell someone your boundaries for you. That is YOUR job. Nobody can define your boundaries for you.
- If a user persists in breaching your clearly defined boundaries, screenshot where you told them to stop as well as their continued harassment should be stored and submitted to an Admin.
- NC does not police off-site and unofficial chat mediums or what is said on other websites by members. That said we make three exceptions:
- Breeches in confidentiality. ALL STAFF TEAMS are expected to adhere to a non-disclosure agreement where they do not share ANYTHING that happens in their team with non-team members. This includes with other teams.
- Blackmailing other NC users.
- Egregious examples of harassment.
