In light of recent and traumatic events, the shinobi of Iwa have become broken and spread thin. The few able ninja were to few. Some tasked with clean up, others set to fetching food and water for the villagers. While another choice few were on a more serious mission. None given by the Sennin, as they have all but disappeared. But the mission was self given out of duty to the village and an innate sense of motivation and initiative. While most perceived this catastrophic event as chaotic and awful, a small few saw this as opportunity. Opportunity for mischief and tyranny. While some may only be minor acts of vandalism or lesser, the rest was of a far worse betrayal... Thievery and violence. Criminals seized their moment and begun to loot the town for any riches they could find, and would most likely beat down any who stood in their paths. This is where Sabaku, The Guardian of Celerity, would step in. Sabaku was always one to find trouble and deal with it swiftly, and today... that is just what he will be doing. As a Guardian of Iwa, it was his duty to protect his village, even from within.
Sabaku stood atop a large marred building, scanning his surroundings. He could see some of the younger generation helping to fetch items of use for other shinobi or villagers in need. While the more skilled ninja took to ridding the village of rubble. Many had perished at the hands of the beast, even more lay injured in the hospitals. The dust had barely settled, and already we begun to repair. This Village... we are a resilient bunch. Not even a giant monster can keep us down. The air still held the faint scent of ash, the wind carried with it the reminder of pain the village was still in. It would be some time before we fully recovered... so in the mean time, Sabaku and the other ninja would do what they could to see it through this ordeal.
Sabaku's watch had only begun when he noticed a pair of cloaked men lurking about the streets. Up to no good I'm sure... better go check it out... Thinking to himself, he watched as the two men drew closer to a slightly less ruined house. They began to look around, most likely checking to see if anyone was paying attention. Sabaku crept in close, sticking to the shadows as best as he could. While remaining stealthy, he got close enough to make out what they were saying. Man #1: Alright man, here's the deal. We only have a short amount of time before some random floozy comes along and finds us. Now you go in there and take what you can and I'll be the look out. Man #2: Why do you get to be the lookout? Your always the lookout, I want a turn... last time an old lady beat me with her purse. Man#1: I'm the lookout because you get to distracted by the smallest thing, at least while your in there looting, you are being kept busy enough stealing to not be lead astray. Man#2: Oh... right... hue hue, I'm always forgetting. Alright then, I'll be back soon!
The second man disappeared into the building as the first stood watch, just as they discussed. This was ideal as Sabaku preferred the one on one experience. Knowing it was time to step in. Sabaku, utilizing his innate abilities, warped behind the first man. VWOOMP Sabaku's abilities were not very subtle to say the least. Startled, the first man jumped nearly out of his skin. Jumping around to see the visage of a Guardian before him was the last thing this guy wanted. Hoping the man would come easy, Sabaku tried to play nice. I'm going to have to ask you to turn around and submit to restraints, you are going to be held at Anbu headquarters pending my investigation of the attempted robbery being taken place at this very moment. Almost immediately, the first man began to flee... It seems he knew the jig was up and his time had run out. Sabaku kind of expected this to happen and was prepared for pursuit. Have it your way then... In a brilliant display of power, Sabaku warped next to the escaping man and gave him a few taps to the chest and head. The man was no ninja and most likely couldn't take the full force of a blow without sustaining serious bodily injury. The few hits Sabaku delivered were enough to knock the man unconscious, allowing Sabaku to bind the man and continue inside the building to search for the second man.
It wasn't long before Sabaku came upon the Second individual, snooping about the place like a rodent. He spilled out the same request as he did before with the man outside. I'm going to need you to drop what you have, turn around and submit to restraints. I am going to detain you at Anbu headquarters for the robbery of this facility. Now this all sounded a bit stale and dry, but professionalism should at least be attempted before throwing all formalities aside and just putting boots to asses. I've already detained your associate outside, just make this easy and no harm will come to you. Sabaku tried to reason with the fellow, he didn't really want to have to hurt this guy to. Alright, alright... you got me man. I don't want any trouble... I was just doin what my brother tolds me to do, I didn mean nothing by it... just tryin to make a livin ya know? The man seemed a bit slow in the head, but a crime was a crime. The second man complied with Sabaku's orders and he and the other man were escorted to a holding cell and would be dealt with as soon as someone with the appropriate rank would attend to their charges. Though the day was still young, Sabaku knew that others were soon to follow in the footsteps of these recent duo. But he would deal with them just the same, bringing the swift fist of justice down upon any who would dare stain the name of Iwa.
