Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Zaku was gone for nearly a year and was assumed to have been killed by man called Hoshikata. Now the man had resurfaced from the dead, of course metaphorically the man was never dead. He was the most important topic in every discussion that had any relations to Hoshikata. In fact, Hoshikata's loyalty was based solely on the wellbeing of Ishikawa Zaku. After this new revelation was Hoshikata truly resolved of his crimes or was he a merely another instigator for something larger. Did Titan have anything to do with this? All in all, Zaku's return had more questions than answers.

Shin was standing in front of the large glass window pensively gazing at the village from within the conference room. The room was a specially designed room located a two floors below his normal office. The office was aestically pleasing with an array of galleries depicting several known landscapes in lightning country. Yet, it was very functionally place given the imported technology Shin had requested to be placed in selected areas. There was the recording devices appended to the rudimentary intercom boxes around the corners of the room. Then, the chraka suppression seals embedded in the walls to reduce the use of highly powered jusu to be performed in the room. The design to be prepared for anything -- at least try to. Shin would need to use his own intuition for everything else. For a man who nearly planned everything, this should not be a problem, except now that was debatable since Shin was continuously facing a man who shared the same analytical mind as himself.

"What are you planning, Hoshikata?" Shin said to himself.

Even if Hikari would of dismissed the Spymaster, she would of insisted in escorting her Sennin to the tower with both men in tow. She promised to keep Hoshikata safe, a promise she intended to keep. For how long she'd keep that promise extended further than this day, but onward until her body gave out. She had failed before to protect Natsu, falling short of that promise due to a tragedy she could not control. Even though she still burned with blame, Haruka knew it was not entirely her fault, but it was her duty to one day find a cure. As for Hoshikata, he still lived and breathed. She wouldn't let his life slip through her fingers, not like Masao or Natsu. For once, she had a choice to fight for a life. She had that choice she wasn't given when Masao fell for his village and Natsu slipped into an unending rest. She worried if she could fairly balance her vows as a Kumogakurian and the desires of her heart. She also worried that their Raikage would not listen to her words, thinking her fooled by Hoshikata. Haruka was far more capable at judgement that people often gave her credit for, despite rarely sharing relationships with other human beings. She hoped that her confidence and faith would be enough.

Ushered in by Shin's assistant, she directly showed them the correct room. The group approached the door, a sense of unending dread laid in Haruka's stomach. She stood guard over the Seer, still entrusted with holding his staff. Despite her worry, Haruka held a poker face as she had with most days that passed. The doors open, holding yet another level of anxiety within it. The four stepped over the threshold into the room Shin had specifically set up for an occasion just as this. Their leader stood at the other end of the room, turning to face them as they trespassed into his realm. Last she saw him was the hospital, but that was much too soon. It seemed the higher in ranks you became, the more the Raikage would turn up in your life. Before she had ever became this, she hadn't the slightest clue what Shin was like. Years as a doctor seemed far away. It was a welcomed distance.

As they all stood in the room, the door creaking shut behind them, Haruka bowed in respectful greeting but she did not say a word. Hikari would speak for them. She tried her best not to seem soft towards Hoshikata, as her eyes laid ahead at Hayata Shin. Still, she could feel Hoshikata's presence overwhelm her. He was inches from her and it drove her nearly insane that she must treat him like a distant stranger until the moment called for her to act.

Throwing everything away and for what? A woman? All of those carefully laid plans put down in a fit of emotion. You should have killed Kenta, right there. No evidence to support that red headed bitch's suspicions. You should have killed him in Wind, just cut all of this off right then and there. But no, you thought of other things. You thought of her. And you have grown weak. Your father would be disgusted. Your clan would oust you. The king of lies laid low by some weak bitch-

Enough.

Thoughts flitting in and out of his mind like a whirlwind scattering leaves before its path, Hoshikata remains silent as he follows Haruka through the village. The cuffs on him were mildly uncomfortable, but he makes no attempt to remove them. He more than earned them, and if he tried to do so he had little double that she would be the one to suffer most for his doing so. He keeps his eyes on her as they walk, his mouth shut and his thoughts his own. For the moment, that was all he could do.

They made quite an odd procession, two of the most powerful women in the village leading two prisoners through it to the Torre. Their steps into the building went noticed, as did the presence of several ANBU arriving for security. Hoshikata does not give his usual smirk, knowing that while they were present for him, it was far from a good thing.

Yes, Shin feared what he would do. Shin had good reason to, after what he'd already done. But he would do nothing now, for fear of what the consequences upon the woman leading him to this meeting would be. As they file into the office, he notes Haruka bowing and simply steps aside to let the other two through, not offering his own gesture.

He was a prisoner, but not to this man. And not to the one coming in or the woman who led him. The only one who could shackle him was she who already has. Hoshikata's golden eyes stare directly at Shin, not breaking his gaze. Come whatever may he would not be weak.

Just out of the initial offices of the Anbu quarters, he had finally received his mask. There was no telling who else would show up here and how they would look with their Anbu Gear on. Yuuto was draped in a black cloak and all pieces of clothing were black hiding all traces of his skin. His creamy white hair tied in a ponytail and hidden by his cloak. A gray vest rested on his torso, typical cloud equipment that most shinobi had in their possession. His mask was pure white, and held three different eye markings although Yuuto only had "two".

He came as fast as he could but this was honestly a very rushed procedure. Right now he had the focus was to protect the Raikage and other Cloud Officials. They were dealing with the presumed 2nd Mizukage a man wrapped in mystery and had an eerie air about him. Yuuto hadn't gained all the details but he did receive enough information about his orders. He was to be an observer and ready to do battle and guard the Raikage. "Raiden be damned, I can't believe how fast everything is moving. One week ago I was nothing more than a rising trainee and now I'm finally Anbu. I didn't expect to get assigned with guard duty but we are spread thin for today. Don't fret Yuuto, it's just a couple of Kage and other sensitive information. You got this it's gonna be a breeze... He kept telling himself not to worry or be fearful of failure. Nothing would happen and if it did his ability to utilize the darkness would be his best asset.

Upon arrival he saw the group that was heading the "prisoners" to the Raikage. To people shackled by chakra and sealed lightly while two women followed close behind them. Yuuto did not know them truly but he recognized the Main Branch Sennin, Hikari. She was looking serious as ever and if you knew her, then you damn well understood she was not to be trifled with. If only she could see him now, under a mask and in the league of the Anbu. Yuuto would make the effort to approach her personally and give a slight bow. "I'm Zenku mam, here to assist with protection and guard duty. Is there anything I need to know about the captives?" He'd stay any further discussion only hoping he was going about things properly. After receiving whatever information they needed, he would remove himself to trailing behind the group at and observing any movements.

Before reaching the room Yuuto would hold for a moment outside using a hand-seal to stretch his shadow out. When they all went inside together he'd leave a shadowed present outside the room. When they finally made it to the conference room Yuuto would head to a corner where he could stand silently and do as he was tasked. Observe and protect if necessary. When the door was secured behind them and all was well he'd release the shadow he left in the hallway allowing it to expand and change into it's true form. In truth Yuuto had summoned a Specter (Specter Shade Ninjutsu). It was a clone made of shadows, and one that he displaced there until the time was right. While they were in the room with chakra dampening seals, the Specter Shade would be outside standing as extra guard. If anything happened Yuuto could be aware.

Hikari lead the procession in with as much grace and gravity as she could muster. The party made an odd image, she was sure, but no one stopped to look too long at the quartet, which was probably good for their own health, no one, that is, until they met the young ANBU, who stood before them. "I'm Zenku mam, here to assist with protection and guard duty. Is there anything I need to know about the captives?

"Zenku-san" She repeated, "Thank you, yes. They are each very strong and well equipped shinobi. Zaku is a Kumonin, and Hoshikata may one day be one." She said, "But for today, they are each accused of crimes against the realm." She noted that he seemed a bit nervous, probably his first time being assigned to the Raikage. "Treat everyone with proper respect, in line with rank or former rank and you'll be fine." She said, reassuringly yet also in a quiet voice, as they walked.

Once they got to the rooms, Hitomi ushered them in. The room was spartan, though modern in design and furnishing. "Raikage sama." She said as they walked in. She bowed, "Ishikawa Zaku, though his appearance is somewhat altered since last you saw him." She gestured toward her old friend. "Isaki Hoshikata, and Spymaster Shima." She paused, wondering whether to say aught of Haruka's impropriety, before a moment had passed, she shook the idea off. Until the relationship impacted her performance, Hikari would leave what she knew of the woman's social life out of their business affairs. "Gentlemen," She said to the two, "Please take a seat." Hikari waited a moment before continuing, "Hayata sama, I have already informed your assistant of what has happened, I trust she gave you all pertinent details?"

Ayumu was in his Sileo office rather than the Torre office when he received the news of the apparent reappearance of Ishikawa Zaku. The ANBU at the gates relayed what they heard to the best of their ability. Supposedly the former Deathwatch Captain had returned looking like someone else and lacking his memories. Until Isaki Hoshikata restored them to him. 'Hoshikata again...' Ayumu thought as he stood from his chair and made his way to the express exit from the Sileo to the Torre Celeste. The Sileo sprawled out underneath the village with passages that led to various strategic points in the village for quick deployment of ANBU personnel. This was particularly helpful to Ayumu as he split his time between the ANBU's fortress and the Raikage's offering a hasty route to the Raikage's side at a moment's notice.

He stopped before leaving the room to address one of the staff coordinators that shared the Sennin's office. The Raikage had requested ANBU to guard the meeting. Ayumu was attending and guards would be sent, but he had someone fresh in his mind for the job. "The ANBU that was in here earlier... contact him, I want him to be one of the guards inside," he said, to which the coordinator nodded in compliance before getting to work making the necessary communication to find Yuuto and have him sent to the Torre Celeste. Ayumu needed to make a few more preparations before he headed out himself.

---

Ayumu nodded at the clone, which was likely Yuuto's doing, outside the conference room doors as he pushed them open and entered the room. He was a moment or two late, but it seemed he was in time for the important part. The major players were all present, it seemed. Shin, the Raikage and ultimately the judge of what would happen here today. Zaku, the former Deathwatch Captain who had been manipulated by Hoshikata into abandoning his village the victim of Hoshikata's crime (at least the one that was known to them). Hikari, the Main Branch Sennin whom had the responsibility of upholding the village's best interests, a role that Ayumu shared. A shinobi under her jurisdiction was the one whom had been victimized by Hoshikata, would she seek justice for the captain?

Then, there was Hoshikata the liar. His presence in the village as of late had absorbed much of the hierarchy's attention with his various actions and past actions. Was he a murderer? It seemed the answer to that question was now no. Was he a liar? The answer to that was now undoubtedly yes. Normally, that would make him the more preferable of the two labels, but considering what he had done to Zaku that was questionable. When Ayumu thought he had simply killed a shinobi who had chosen to abandon the village of his own free will there was little sympathy for Zaku. Now it seemed that he had heinously forced the man to betray his village and become a traitor in his people's eyes. At least he hadn't done both. The question of the hour was why he had finally confessed and turned himself in rather than escape when he had the chance.

Yuuto was also present, sticking to the corner where he vigilantly watched over the proceedings as was his task. Ayumu had hopes for this ANBU after their meeting and so he took a chance by assigning him this task. He was freshly out of the trainee program, but he seemed more than capable with the abilities Ayumu had seen thus far. Finally, there was also a woman present who seemed to be tasked with tending to Hoshikata's staff. Ayumu knew nothing of the woman and presumed that she was simply present to assist Hikari. A bodyguard, perhaps. Regardless, everyone was here that needed to be, it seemed. Perhaps they could finally get down to business and figure out what to do with Hoshikata once and for all.

Hikari began the meeting with asking both Zaku and Hoshikata to sit then addressing Shin to ensure that he was informed of what had transpired. Ayumu meanwhile looked at the man they claimed was Ishikawa Zaku. If Hikari was certain, Ayumu wouldn't question it. Apparently he had come to the gates believing he was Isaki Kenta until Hoshikata had released some kind of seal on his memory. Somehow his appearance had also been changed. It was a dastardly combination of techniques that essentially allowed him to gain a follower out of a complete stranger. Hoshikata was even more dangerous than they previously thought.

"So, what have I missed? Why are you coming clean now, Hoshikata? Change of heart?" Ayumu asked directly, pointing the question to the man of the hour. He truly was curious why it was now that he finally chose to be honest. His motives seemed to have changed recently, Ayumu had noticed. He came to the Raikage offering to try to hunt down Enishi. He was at the gates to help dissuade an attempted infiltrator from fighting. Most recently, he fought beside Ayumu to help put down the murderous rogue shinobi. He was an enigma, this man. What was he hoping for, in the end? If he really wished to be an ally of Cloud, why had he done what he did to Zaku? If it was a recent desire, what had changed?

Oshiro Kagura, one of the few members of the actual Raikage Guard, remained outside the room along with Zenku's clone. While she would have preferred that she were inside, the seals lined within the walls of the room would dampen her jutsu in case the worst should occur. So the young woman did not protest to being ordered to remain outside. After all, multiple high level operatives were inside with the Raikage, so she knew that the half second to enter the room wouldn't be the deciding factor should a confrontation occur.

***

Meanwhile, I sat inside, at the table with my cuffed hands out on the table. My fingers were pressed together in an outward motion, not to make a hand seal, but to think. My mind focused on my heart beat as people got settled and the meeting got underway. I stared unblinking at the ends of my fingers, how they pulsed ever so slightly due to the same yet opposing forces meeting each other. This was a technique I was taught by one of the few ex-girlfriends I had eve had. Originally it was meant to just help with headaches, but now it was a sense of meditation for me. It was simple coincidence that I had a splitting headache at the time. The transition back to myself had not been pleasant, and I was still coping with judging on what was real, and what was not...

My eyes looked to each person, and the ANBU, and tried to get a sense for what this meeting was about. I'd assume that I would take questions eventually, but I also felt I would be learning a lot as well. At least in regards to the past year.

Behind the door, a small conversation broke out between Tanaka Hikari and another man apparently an ANBU who was standing guard at the door. Eventually, five individuals entered the room. The first two people to enter the room was Hoshikata and Harkua, as expected. The two appeared inseparable like the bond between the moon and the sun -- where if one fell the other will rise. Hikari revealed herself to be the conductor of the entire meeting as she addressed the group to the raikage.

"Gentlemen," She said to the two, "Please take a seat." Hikari waited a moment before continuing, "Hayata sama, I have already informed your assistant of what has happened, I trust she gave you all pertinent details?"

"Indeed she did." Shin said as he walked toward the man who was identified as Ishikawa Zaku. His appearance was definitely different, in fact a normal man would not be able to determine that this man and Zaku were one and the same. Shin could tell by the faint familiar chakra that echoed within the man's body. It was Shin's very own chakra that stil resided in this boy's body since the day Shin placed it there. Shin glanced at the metal cups that gripped his wrists like a rattlesnake bite. "It is not right to chain the beloved. Please remove his bonds. He is no danger to us."

"So, what have I missed? Why are you coming clean now, Hoshikata? Change of heart?" Ayumu said breaking the tension.

"You could say that Ayumu." Shin said intercepting the reply from Hoshikata. "Hoshikata has been telling the truth all of this time." Shin chuckled for a moment. "Well...relevant truth to your former statement. What were your words again --- ' The man you seek is no more'. Either way, you have been lying about something, especially about your supposed deceased wife. It was only until I observed Haruka that I knew how infatuated you were with her. All those chivalrous acts for this village was for her, was it not? How is it possible for a man who has lost the love of his life to fall back in love so quickly, especially to a woman who lives in the same the village that trained your murderer? " Shin paused for a moment to give everyone a chance to reflect on what he had said.

"It was your plan to take Zaku but it was not your plan for Ishikawa Zaku to return as you have said and I am guessing that it was not your intention to get involved with anyone in this village. Now that you have lost your ties with Titan. I believe now is the time to tell us what you know."

The room was crowded, and this was only a room full of those who HAD to be here. Compared to the rest, Haruka was nothing. Her rank fell lower than the two sennin who stood as pillars for their Raikage. Hoshikata was on a level higher than anyone, in his mind, but she hoped he would ground himself for today. Zaku, their former deathwatch captain, used to stand as one of the four vice commanders under the main branch sennin. And the last soul was a masked ANBU under the code name of Zenku. He was eager to assist Hikari, his eagerness told Haruka that he was fairly new at his job. No one was ever this enthusiastic about standing in a room for a few hours while the higher ups babbled on. Why did this scene feel so familiar? That's right, it felt like that day in Mist. Her first real mission back when she was just a young mednin. Back before she had ever laid eyes on Hoshikata. Two or three years ago was it?

Haruka was introduced with the rest of the band as Hikari proceeded with the meeting. Spymaster Shima, she wondered how much Hikari truly trusted her now with that title. She focused back on the Sennin and Raikage's exchange as their leader made his way across the floor to observe Zaku. Just as Hikari had been hesitant to put her friend in chains, Shin also felt that a comrade did not deserve such bonds. "Yes, My lord..." Haruka moved to Zaku, removing the bonds she had set on both men. As quickly as she had converged on the former captain, she stepped away to the sidelines once more. For the first time, she finally saw the beloved and merciful Hayata Shin that everyone was so fanatical about. She only hoped he would share some of that kindness with Hoshikata.

Her almond eyes drew to the ANBU sennin who gave his question to the man still in shackles at the mercy of this band of ninja. Kogami Ayumu, her files had told her. This was the first time she had ever met the man. What terrible circumstances to meet anyone. Much to her dismay, Hoshikata did not have time to speak for himself as Shin set out to analyze the man. She lost the willpower to not look at the former Kirigakurian, casting her almond eyes towards his face. All while Shin spoke of Akane, his betrothed who had fallen, Haruka fell back to a memory. Akane died well over a year ago, and Haruka had put that part of Hoshikata behind him. Haruka remembered his grief when they first spoke of her. The Shima had confessed that she had never felt that loss, but now she knew. Masao and Natsu had both faded from her life.

Her fists tightened at her sides. She felt an anger for Hoshikata. Who was Shin to say that Hoshikata might not have loved Akane? Would he say the same to Haruka about Natsu? The two of them were no different. Despite Natsu's recent "death", despite her intense feelings of love, Haruka had managed to fall in love with Hoshikata. So, it was not hard for her to be convinced that Hoshikata loved both women. She wanted to speak, but was too terrified at hurting Hoshikata's chances. For a moment, Hoshikata looked her way and she gulped down her fear.

"My lord, I do not mean to be rude or interrupt your interrogation. I am so sorry, really. But, how is it not believable that Hoshikata loved both his fallen betrothed and I? My heart was devoted to Do-Sama not long ago. Is it safe to say that now that I love this man that my love for Natsu had been a lie?" The words all came out in a blur. By the time they were drifting through the air, Haruka had awoken from a momentary blackness. Her heart pounded against her chest like a car slamming into a brick wall. She bowed her head in reverence. Perhaps she should have kept her mouth shut. She felt all their looks burn on her skin. Peering up with shame, she crossed her gaze with Shin then to Hikari. What the hell was she thinking?

After the awkward tension sifted through the air, she met Hoshikata's eyes once more. Her hand touched the crystal hung on a chain around her neck for a brief second. A habit she did to draw her strength and courage. Her eyes were filled with a pleading for him to tell Shin all that he asked. She hoped he spoke carefully, unlike her stupid mouth. She knew he was prideful, but for once, she wished she could beg him to yield. Just for this day. Just for her.

His eyes move from Shin finally, taking in the others entering. There was the red haired woman who berated Haruka for her feelings. Not a good one, that woman. She had no mercy for one of her own being a human being and not able to control the most powerful emotions. Hoshikata would like to see her own reaction were she put in the same place as the woman who led him into this room, he wanted to know how she would react if she were forced to choose between her duty and her heart. He doubted she would do so with the grace that the Shima did. He knew how strong Haruka could be.

Zaku came in also, the missing puzzle piece returned to the box. The wrench in the gears of the well oiled lie that Hoshikata was spinning to get his way, the man he should have killed so long ago when he led him from the village. There could be little doubt that his not committing that deed was the thing that led to his current position. If Zaku were dead, Kenta gone, there never would have been any evidence to point to it. Hoshikata could have simply gone on being happy.

An ANBU also entered, and was dismissed, but the ANBU Sennin stepping in cast a new light on things. Two of the sennin and the Raikage. The last time Hoshikata was in this room and got this kind of reception his cousin tried to have him executed and he ended up splitting a table in half. His golden eyes rest on the ANBU for a moment, considering the man. Ayumu would do what was best for the village, but he like the others would want blood for the deeds done. They would not care for why.

Taking Zaku was a calculated move, to prove to these very people that they did not hold the power they thought they did. It was to show them the futility of showing their might without the ability to back that show. And even now, it was not by their power than this had come to pass, but instead by the kindness of one woman. Hoshikata looks to her for a moment before taking the proffered seat. There would be little reason not to since he had no intention of running away.

Ayumu speaks first, a simple question that had a simple answer. As the Seer moves to speak, Shin answers for him. His eyes narrow on the man as Shin spins his tale, not far from the truth but not on it either. Those narrowed orbs begin to smolder with anger as the man denies his previous betrothal. Then speaks of a plan without knowing anything of the plan. His jaw clenches as he forces himself not to rise from the chair and do something, anything.

She speaks. His jaw does not unclench, the anger does not leave his eyes. But the rage lessens, the blinding anger fading into something manageable. She speaks of her own love, the former Spymaster of Cloud whom Hoshikata had the chance to match wits with. He liked to think he came ahead, but in truth it was hard to tell since the other simply vanished. As she looks to him, Hoshikata's lips quirk into a soft smirk of satisfaction at her response.

”She has the right of it. I was not married, I was engaged. I cared for Akane, but our relationship was only just beginning. I would ask that you not insult what was not, for it nearly was.” His eyes move from his Luna back to Shin, raking the rest of the room on the way. ”Your man here did not attack me. He did not kill her. She died in the blizzard that overcame our homeland, or at least none have seen or heard from her since. She ran ahead of our group, wanting to see her family. And then hell broke loose upon Kirigakure.”

How much would he say? How much could he? Everything, everything they needed to know, at least. ”Tatsuya, my best friend, abandoned me when he learned what I'd done to your village. He said my actions would come back on us exponentially. He was right. My brother followed through those gates upon threat of his life. In truth, the only people guilty of any crime that night are myself and the other Cloud shinobi who followed us. He did so freely, under the orders of TITAN. Zaku did not do so freely, nor even under duress.”

Those eyes move back to Haruka, gauging her reaction to his next words. This would make or break him, how she responded. He cared little for the rest, except for the decision they reached and how it affected her. ”I removed his will, I used a mind altering technique to force him to become loyal only to me. I did the same to the other mist shinobi who fled with us. As I told your sennin at the gates, this man did not betray you.”

”But to answer the question put to me.....yes. I did not lie when I told you before, in this room, Ayumu that I had reason to see this village become stronger, to protect it as I could. I cannot change what I have done. I can reverse the actions I made in this case, but I cannot undo them, cannot return to this man the year of his life I took. What I can do is what I have done. I have protected the village twice now, first from a rogue shinobi attempting to sneak in to offer his services to the highest bidder and second against another who murdered innocent civilians infront of you and I.”

“But I have indeed had a change..... of heart.”
HE does not look at her as he speaks, knowing he did not need to. She was the change. His heart. His Luna.

People began to flock into the room taking their needed places while the developments of the fragile situation began to unfold. Yuuto himself could only watch as the Anbu Sennin entered the room and took note of the current atmosphere. He was not truly late nor did he miss anything yet. Hikari politely seated the suspects down as she double checked that Shin was aware of what was going on. While he seemed well informed, it did not stop the Anbu Sennin, Ayumu from throwing his own line at Hoshikata. Did they always suspect the assumed Mizukage to have been the liar he appeared to be, or was this truly shock? Something was not right about the air of the situation, but only observation could grant him the knowledge he sought.

While the others focused on Hoshikata, Yuuto took a moment to single out Zaku. The confused man sat still as water with his fingers making slight movements as if he was fixated on another matter entirely. Was he nervous? Did he have something to fear? Likely this entire situation was uneasy, it might have been better to interrogate them separately, for all they knew Hoshikata's Seal might have had some lingering effects. They didn't need more lies, or harm what they needed was the truth.

Shin wanted to remove the bonds from Zaku to which Haruka replied to immediately by releasing them. However the Raikage began to immediately dish out his thoughts to Hoshikata. He believed that the ex-Mizukage only protected the village as to impress Haruka, to which Yuuto questioned himself. There was a lot of information here that he was unaware of but the biggest thing that stuck out in his mind was that if this woman and the suspect were a couple now, why was she in the same room? The power of love was unpredictable like a crashing wave. He was almost positive that if things got grim she would not stand for it. She may even grow to hate either that man or her village. Such a thing was sad, but unavoidable when you paid a village injustice.

It was however the next outburst that cemented the thought in his mind. She responded to Shin asking how it could not be possible that this man could not love her and his fallen one. Yuuto could believe that love could be found although from the way this man operated, who knows if love was just a ploy to him. Another convenient tool to get what he wanted such as spinning the "death" or "removal" of Zaku. However the most disturbing and yet beautiful things was that she professed her love but it had no place here. There was effectively a conflict of interest and to Yuuto she needed to be escorted out of the room, but it was not his place to make decisions the Sennin and the Raikage could do that well enough. Sometimes being a shinobi wasn't the greatest thing in the world. Being a soldier for your village, meant putting some personal effects aside, it is what came with the territory. If only Hoshikata was more upfront and more honest, if only his words could mend the uneasiness they had set.

Finally the man of the hour's words began to form. He began asking that Shin not disrespect his feelings for his previous lover or Haruka. He began to tell them that Zaku was truly innocent and that his past love, fell to the unnatural blizzard that had flash frozen Kirigakure. While that cleared Zaku in some manner it did not fully explain why he had mentally messed with the former Captain. Hoshikata would explain that he was abandoned in his crusade and his best friend believed that these crimes would come back to fall on them. Truly they were and would continue to. There was apparently another Cloud Shinobi who accompanied them, under the orders of "Titan" a group Yuuto did not have full disclosure on. He would seek more detailed information about many of the things here after this matter. Hoshikata's Arrival, Zaku's disappearance, the Titan organization and anything else that had to do with the recent disturbances in the village.

The spoken word on the mind altering technique was intriguing. It made this man a threat dangerous to be able to so easily bend the will of others to whichever way he fancied. How could they permit someone like this to walk around Kumogakure so freely? Yuuto would slightly shake his head in disappointment. How far would people go to get their ways. Whatever Hoshi was trying to accomplish did not have to be executed in this manner. He was trying to teach Kumo a lesson about their strength? How silly was that, to take lessons from a man who probably attacked the man Zaku with his band of merry ninja, and then resorted to trickery. There was still no clear reason other than Zaku being a scapegoat, this story had too many holes. Instead of trying to turn Cloud into his personal playground this man should have been focusing on reclaiming his home or building a sanctuary for the scattered Mist Shinobi. This was not the acts of a Kage, it was the acts of a man bent on power. He couldn't believe that this way was the best nor the necessary option it just made no sense. Yuuto would look towards Haruka now, as he could gather most of the other Cloud Nin in the room would not feed into this. He wondered if she bought his reasons, and what she would do if they did not.

In truth while the young Anbu did not believe Hoshikata there was pity for him behind the mask. While he was disgusted with his methods, there was truly pity for a man who is likely trying to rebuild their status and their home in some image. He couldn't come to terms with everything that has happened and simply moved haphazardly from one bad decision to the next. What would the rest of them say or do in this moment?

The two men sat down quietly, and without much fuss. Hikari noticed that as they did, Ayumu entered. At this time, Shin replied “Indeed she did.” As he walked toward Zaku. Hikari wondered for a moment, what he’d do, but really, she shouldn’t have.

“It is not right to chain the beloved.” He said. Hikari smiled slightly. The mercy of Hayata sama was legendary, but so was his judgment. He may be a dorky older man who had a penchant for tea and lobster, but he was also wise and kind. One may have felt that there was little room in the life of a Shinobi for mercy or love, but Shin lived it in many ways. She understood a bit better now, the respect he had commanded from Masao. “He is no danger to us.”

"So, what have I missed? Why are you coming clean now, Hoshikata? Change of heart?" Ayumu asked.

"You could say that Ayumu." Shin interjected. "Hoshikata has been telling the truth all of this time." That caused Hikari to squint a bit, uncertain as to the reason that her Kage was being so… informal. It seemed everyone was. Hikari looked to Haruka who stood on the sidelines, like a pillar. She felt a great sympathy for her friend. Just then, Shin began to question the love and affections of both Haruka and Hoshikata. It was clear he did not believe that their romance was genuine.

"My lord, I do not mean to be rude or interrupt your interrogation. I am so sorry, really. But, how is it not believable that Hoshikata loved both his fallen betrothed and I? My heart was devoted to Do-Sama not long ago. Is it safe to say that now that I love this man that my love for Natsu had been a lie?" She asked, moving forward a bit. Her words were rushed and almost dizzy with fervor. It was clear that Haruka disagreed. That was what mattered to Hikari, the profession of love from her friend for Hoshikata. She also remembered the way he had changed when Haruka had appeared. For all that Hayata Shin was a loving man, he was not a man familiar with all types of love. Hikari frowned, then moved as gracefully as possible, to Haruka’s side as Hoshikata spoke.

”She has the right of it. I was not married, I was engaged. I cared for Akane, but our relationship was only just beginning. I would ask that you not insult what was not, for it nearly was.” He said.

“Shima san…” She said quietly as the men spoke. “You told me once... that my uncle said "anger does not become you." He was right. Not either of us. He told me something else... it was one of the last things he ever said to me. "I trust you," my friend. I know you believe in him. I now know you love him.” She whispered, before addressing Shin.

“Hayata sama, there are many flavors of love… and I have witnessed the change in Hoshikata first hand. I believe he loves her, and I know she reciprocates. That should not be at issue here.” She said calmly, almost gently. “And I believe it very cruel to question a person’s affections for a lover lost. As cruel as questioning the love of a man for an uncle who was lost to a darker nature.” The reference to his uncle was not a subtle one, Makoro’s fall had been a well known event, one Shin had once spoken to her about. “I believe in Haruka’s ability to remain professional: I would not have asked her to become Spymaster if I did not trust her judgment, and I know no one more professional.” She said before continuing , “This should be about Titan, and punishment for the crime against Zaku, yes. On that. But love should not be on trial.”

Ayumu's question for Hoshikata was almost immediately scooped up by Shin who began to explain some of the details Ayumu was missing. In a way, he had been indeed truthful to some extent. Zaku was no more, at the time. Then again, if he could be recovered as he was now was he ever truly "no more" as was claimed? That was just semantics, though. Regardless of how he said it, he had been deceiving them. Another important factor in the circumstances was also revealed to Ayumu. Hoshikata was infatuated with a Cloud shinobi by the name of Haruka. If that was indeed true, it would explain his sudden change in nature and his actions towards Cloud.

Shin further questioned whether Hoshikata truly loved Haruka, and how he could after having lost his former lover so recently. Ayumu was not well versed in love. He was only just beginning his relationship with Kahako. He did, however, understand that love could come suddenly and without warning. It couldn't be controlled. It was entirely possible for someone to fall for another hard in a short period of time. What was more surprising to Ayumu was that someone like Hoshikata could love at all. Truth be told, that was the last reason he would have suspected for Hoshikata's deeds. 'Love conquers all, I suppose,' he thought, glancing at Hoshikata with minor disbelief.

One in the room did not take Shin's assertion that Hoshikata's love might not be genuine so easily. The woman who was unbeknownst to Ayumu before spoke up quite frantically, insisting that it was not so far-fetched that Hoshikata would fall in love with her. 'Ah, here we have Haruka, then,' Ayumu put together having not been introduced to her before now. It explained why she was here, but it also called into question why she was here. It could be said that her love would skew any testimony she might give on Hoshikata's behalf, so could they really consider what she had to say? Before Ayumu could think on that further, Hikari also came to defense of the relationship and her friend, and then Hoshikata took his turn to speak.

Hoshikata began to reveal more truths exonerating Zaku of more of the crimes Hoshikata himself had accused him of. He brought up the technique he had used to force Zaku to follow him. He apparently had used a mind altering technique which bent Zaku's will and caused him to follow Hoshikata. More than that, it even went so far as to change Zaku's memories which coupled with the ability to change his appearance made it extremely dangerous. Knowing of its existence might at least hopefully prove to help with resisting it, if it were ever to come to that. Hoshikata transitioned into speaking of the things he had done for the village of late, things that now made sense to Ayumu. Ultimately he answered Ayumu's initial question. He had indeed had a change of heart and that wording seemed much more fitting now.

"I see... so the devil has a heart. You're doing this because it's what Haruka wants. I suppose it's noble in a way, to want to change for the one you love," Ayumu admitted, taking a glance at Haruka. She must be an extraordinarily interesting person to have changed Hoshikata in such a way. Ayumu was curious of the details of how it had all come about, but that was not important for the time being. "Then, I assume your intention would be to join Kumogakure in order to be with Haruka?" he conjectured, trying to get the meeting led to the heart of the matter. He imagined that the man was doing all of this to prove his love to Haruka and banking on his recent deeds overshadowing his misdeed with Zaku.

Harkua was quick to defend Hoshikata insisting that Shin was the one acting inappropriate despite the reasonings that he gave. She believed that Hoshikata could still love her even though her heart still or did fall for Do Natsu. It worried Shin that if Do Natsu was standing in this room he would feel disgraced. Has Haruka forgotten that Do Natsu would awake again? What was she going to do when she was going to face the choice between Hoshikata and Do Natsu. Was Hoshikata going to use this to his advantage to break or control her?

Hoshikata made his own rebuttal trying his own attempt ameliorate the situation by confessing that that he was not truthful about supposed wife who actually died during the blizzard storm that still plague water country. Shin could see the passion in his eyes as he wavered from his serene glare at Haruka to his rigid glare at Shin. Undeterred by his emollient emotions, his remorse for manipulating Zaku was unconvincing. There was no telling what ailing effects were still upon the young chunin or any seal that could hinder the village's security. It was strange that Zaku entered the village with such ease and after Hoshikata revealed the probably cause of Zaku's untimely arrival it made Shin more worried.

Shin sighed as he faced Hikari. "You are right but you are also wrong. Remember that the human heart is as deceitful as a serpent's bite unwillingly or not unless you walk in the right path. I nearly made that mistake with Makoro despite my desire for his repentance from his insanity. I still could not bring myself to kill him which is why he still lives in hope he will return." Shin said with great somberness in his hidden gray eyes reliving some painful memories. "Despite this, I must ensure that my affections as well as your own remains selfless that you are not corrupted by the same thing that holds you together. If not you will harm yourselves as well the people around you making the village dysfunctional and chaotic. Remember you are shinobi. Your services should be for this country and your fellow man before the desires of your own heart. Still, I apologize to the both of you my intention was not to harm you in anyway." Shin said glancing at Hikari and the rest. "There is one warning I will give you Haruka, that once Do Natsu wakes you must be quick to choose between Hoshikata and Do Natsu. We do not want to see you create strife between your comrades when there should not be one. Is that understood?" Shin said as his eyes peered at her through his tinted glasses.

"Now, Ayumu has brought up an excellent point. I believe you should be consider joining the village ranks, in fact I strongly suggest you do so, at least for Haruka's peace of mind. Also, Hoshikata, you still have not given us a reason as to why you did this to Zaku. Who is your brother and these unknown assailants from Cloud who are aiding Titan? I have you know there has been several civilians industries seeking to usurp the village's power by deterring conflicts to us. However, without any solid proof I can only speculate, perhaps you have some ideas."

Her Sol on trial for his past failings, and she was not sure if she had did more good than harm. The scene transpired because of her own selfishness. He would not be here if she had stayed away. Punishment for her attempt of seeking good, or was she just seeking his attention? She thought her actions to be kind, to turn a man with a black, caged heart to the freedom of his own choosing would be a selfless act. As Hoshikata spoke to rebuff Shin's accusations further, her eyes fell to the floor. He had told her the truth from the moment they met. He told her how Akane had fallen to the violent ice of Mist. As for Zaku, Hoshikata had used him. He brainwashed him, a mental desecration of one shinobi of her village. If she had extended her kindness to Hoshikata before all of this, would he have done it still? She frowned as Hoshikata glanced her way to gauge her reaction. How could she not? It was a horrible thing to do to a person. But what was is merely that. He was not that man. No one in the room understood. Haruka did not hate him because of his past. She only cared of what now transpired. However, she understood her superiors' reservations. They did not see him as she did.

Her mind raced with a thousand questions. The whole of Kumogakure against her. Nothing convinced her otherwise, until a gentle yet firm voice next to her began to whisper. Her commander, the one she thought most betrayed, Hikari. Her thoughts stilled as she listened to Hikari speak. She spoke of the man that Haruka admired most. The woman trusted her, as if a saving grace and last will of Masao came through to help mend their bond. With those words, she had solidified Haruka back to her side. Her confidence restored as Hikari outstretched her hand in friendship. Of course, they were true comrades. They had lost the same man. They had both loved and learned so much from him. No one could understand her grief like the red head beside her. She smiled faintly at her friend, and bowed her head in a silent moment of respect for the Sennin. She hide her surprise as Hikari stepped forward to defend the two's love. Hikari commandeered the trial to steadier ground, away from the face of their love. "Thank you, my lady." Haruka whispered to Hikari, disbelief slightly in her tone.

The ANBU Sennin spoke up once again. He was fairly level headed in this argument. He seemed to let conflict roll off his back, taking things in objectively. He saw through the manner of this meeting. Ayumu knew what Hoshikata wanted, so he opened the conversation in the direction it needed to be taken. Haruka noticed the ANBU glance her way. She was not used to the eyes and the attention. Haruka never wanted this. She only wanted to live in peace, a sentiment that her fallen comrades had shared with her. Before, she had been a background piece and never understood why they could not simple live in the peace they wanted. Now as she played Spymaster, under the spotlight of a scandal, she understood that peace could never be taken. It came and went as it so pleased.

Her Raikage's words broke the string of observers.

The words shattered any remaining calm Hikari had just tried to instill in her. Haruka never gave her opponent the satisfaction of her anger. So, the Haku set her icy gaze forward at Shin. The disinterest in her face was what she had always done to keep everyone away. The ice crackled forward, shielding her emotions and intentions, building up a wall that no man could scale. A threatening and harmful rage glinted in the color of her almond eyes. She straighten her back involuntarily, a reflex to seem more powerful. The more power she held, the greater a distance she could keep from Shin. Hoshikata and Hikari perhaps would be the only ones to tell her change. Haruka was not fooled by Hoshikata. She knew her own heart. Had all of their words to man been for nothing? He would never forgive Hoshikata and Haruka would never forgive him. The peaceful Raikage who preached love and forgiveness knew nothing of the sorts. Another lie built up by his shinobi, all for the sake of making him a god as Raikages before him were exalted in the same manner.

He knew nothing about Haruka. Nothing. She hated his words. Hated the words of a hypocrite. Hated the words of a man who sat on his throne and not once ever came down to listen to the words of the girl. A threat to her village because of love? She would never hurt them. Ever. She had told the man herself in the hospital, but he was ignorant. He did not listen to anything she said. He accused her of being selfish. So, that's what a good deed was when looked at with an ice cold eye? And his apology was hardly heartfelt. She felt the blood rushing through her body, filled with anger that had never been stirred in her. Her loyalty was questioned. Her sanity even.

"There is one warning I will give you Haruka, that once Do Natsu wakes you must be quick to choose between Hoshikata and Do Natsu. We do not want to see you create strife between your comrades when there should not be one. Is that understood?"

"It is perfectly understood, sir. But, I would not have to choose between them. Do-Sama was my comrade and my friend. He loved me, and with love comes understanding. He is not petty. He knows my heart and knows what is best. It is not a choice. Hoshikata is who I love, who I want to be with. Do-Sama is a man I loved and respected, but in the end our love would have never been strong enough to last. The man who sits before you has changed me, in better ways than you might not want to believe. Just as I have changed him. I would give my life for Do-Sama, make no mistake. If he were to ever awake, I assure you none of this foolishness you speak of would come to pass. I would advise you to no longer speak of that which you don't know, sir." She spoke with harsh venom in her voice. She wanted to reach across the breach and strike the man. She had never felt this kind of anger. Still, she held it all in allowing only her words to be as cold as her ice.

[Okay, I'm not satisfied with this post because this what Haruka would say, but its so ill fitting with Shin's next lines. I feel like his conversation would of went entirely different if he let Haruka respond. But, whatever...I'll post it]

It seemed only two people in the room were without an opinion, or without one they felt the need to vocalize. The ANBU guard remained silent, keeping any thoughts he had to himself and doing his job quite well without stepping over the exact responsibilities of it. Admirable for one who had no ambition. And Zaku simply played with his hands, as if trying to regain a sense of self. Hoshikata could well understand that, for it was not every day that someone was mentally transformed into another, then back. It takes a very resilient mind not to be overwhelmed by the dual personas, which begged the question of how the seal even worked on him. Perhaps this one had his own secrets, or perhaps the time as Kenta simply trained his mind better being around the Isaki clan.

The red headed bitch spoke up suddenly, defending the idea of love. Shin was placing too much stock in that, as she herself said already. And she seemed to bring Haruka back from the brink of her emotions, remind her of where she was and who she was. Perhaps Hoshikata simply held a prejudice against her, perhaps she was not as bad as he thought. He wasn't fond of thinking that he misread someone, but lately he was doing a lot of things he wouldn't have been fond of before. Still, her final point was quite valid, love was not the topic here. He was. His actions, his motives.

But then Ayumu pulled it right back to that emotion. With a question that needed asking and yet lacked any tact of the asking. Still, the tactlessness was perfect for the moment, a blunt reminder that there was a reason Hoshikata was here. Hoshikata looks sideway at Zaku with a frown, knowing this had to bother the other. But once more, before he could speak, Shin spoke. And ruined everything.

Haruka reacted, even if no one else saw it Hoshikata was well used to wearing that mask. Hiding yourself from others, putting on a fake self in order to keep them from seeing what lay beneath. His chair slides back as the Seer rises, a snap sounding as the cuffs fall in pieces around his feet from a sudden and violent kinetic assault on their joins. And then he vanishes. He would take no chances on someone trying to stop him. He would not let them. As swiftly as he was gone, he would appear once more beside her, his hand resting on her shoulder and his lips by her ear.

”Calm yourself. I know that his ignorance burns, but it is just that, ignorance. Those who know nothing are often the ones who speak the most of it. Pity them, but do not let anger take over. And do not hide yourself, for me.” The hand slides to her other shoulder, a brief embrace to try to impart a sense of peace before he turns once more to face Shin with smoldering golden eyes.

”I might be speaking out of whatever the bounds of this trial are, but your sennin was right. Our relationship is not up for debate. It is not something for you to peer at and try to understand. It simply is, and nothing you do or say is going to change that. I strongly suggest a new line of thinking on how you're handling this.” It was risky, what he did, but he felt that if he had not, Haruka might do something drastic. And that would not be good for anyone involved.

”You wish to know why? Very well. When I first arrived with my entourage, we were four people. A former Mizukage and cousin to one of your own sennin. We met with your spymaster at the train station, a man who vouched for not only my former position but the fact that we were coming in peace. Someone in your village thought it wise to meet us with overwhelming force, including a demon held with a short leash by one of your mednin. When I came to meet with you about the Summit, that same person was not only present, but from the offset distrusting of me.”

“I came to your village to offer aid. And while I will not pretend I was doing so for selfless reasons, I had no intention of causing any harm to your village. But your leadership took every moment to slight me. To show off your supposed might. I was harassed for no reason. So I decided to show you true power. I took one of your most loyal as a return to the aggression I'd received.”
He raises a hand to forestall further questions, his face troubled. ”I am not saying I'm proud of it, though I was then. I would not do something like that again. I am not that man anymore, he was simply an ego with feet, and any wound to that ego was considered an attempt on his life to him. So the slighting that was done to me, it was returned tenfold. That is why I took this man.”

He turns his head to look out the window, eyes searching for a building before giving up, he didn't know this village that well. ”TITAN had nothing to do with that. They simply tried to recruit me as an agent. They're trying to build a mobile aerial fortress. Quite a lofty goal they have, to completely remove order. They want chaos, they want anarchy. And they're based right here, out of your own village. They are not incapable, and they are quite secure. I can show you the building in which I met them, should you like.”

Now for the million dollar question, and the million dollar response. ”As for joining the village...I would like to. But once I do, I must go and handle one last thing. Set one final wrong to be as right as I can.” He looks directly at Haruka now, his Luna. Bathing him with her chill warmth. ”I must give up the very thing that allowed me to do to this man what I did. I know that I will never be accepted if I continue to hold that power, and so I shall rid myself of it.” His next words were soft, so soft even he could barely hear them. No one past a foot would, and even Haruka would have to strain, for the words were not meant for anyone but himself.

For you, my dear Haruka, I shall throw away divinity itself.”

The Raikage began to speak once more, and as he did Yuuto lost more faith in the man's judgement. He was once again following suit with this degrading inquiry of love and devotion as if it mattered. As if Do Natsu had a place in this room, as if it was even intelligent. Yuuto could only predict that there would be another ridiculous continuation of feelings and love, where Shin would start apologizing once again. Then of course as sure as white on rice, Haruka would begin to snap back even "warning" Shin to not speak of what he didn't know. Some would take that as a threat but she was just in her feelings at this point.

More and more he was beginning to loathe this room. It seemed as though the other people were too focused on the wrong thing, was he the only sane one at the moment? It seemed as though Hikari's words would instantly backfire on her almost as soon as she had uttered them. To think that her Spymaster was able to be professional was justifiable even in all the soap opera like dramatics, until she insulted the Raikage. Did she not understand his position or was her focus on love so strong that she allowed words like that to rattle her? It was clear that her emotional state was beginning to outweigh her professional judgement not that Shin was helping the matter. However it was not Yuuto's place to state this or impose his will. The young guard would continue to observe this act, as it would play itself out regardless of his words.

It didn't take long for Hoshikata to react as he would spring up and snap his chains without movement. As soon as he had made a move, the Anbu quickly moved from the corner of the room to Shin's side with his shadow only slightly enlarging. Outside of the room the Shadow Specter clone had grasped the door but awaited to open it knowing that he needed to strike hard and fast. Damn you silly people and your rash behavior. He's left from eyes view but he couldn't have gotten far. Be at ease and think, release the limits on your mind. The Masaru Clan were known for their great focus and through a quick analyzation of the room he was beginning to feel the king of liar's presence.

While many movements happened at once Hoshikata quickly revealed himself to be next to Haruka speaking with her. "Crisis averted..." Yuuto would say to himself as the two lovebirds compromised the very peace of this room. Knowing Shin he'd allow this to pass, but to any guard this was foolish. Hoshikata needed to be restrained for if he decided to do this vanishing act again and attack there could be a chance they would not be prepared. He would relax himself now only slightly as his fingers clenched into a seal. The shadow master would weave signs quickly shifting his shadows. If this man made another rash movement he would follow his duty and attempt to hold him down. While ordinary cuffs were easy to break from, a trained Bind Master's jutsu were not. As Hoshikata spoke Yuuto would circle to Ayumu seeing as the Raikage seemed to be out of harm's way.

This man, spoke volumes of his former deeds and their reasons being nothing but egotistical ploys to get revenge against those who "slighted" him. There was clearly a lack of humility in this man. He admitted that his deeds were not all for the sake of selfless valor as if they needed any hints to that. While claiming that he had changed because of Haruka it did not dismiss his crimes the shit they should have been focusing on rather than a trivial relationship. Finally the man gave information worth listening to, and claimed that Titan had tried to recruit him and build a mobile air fortress. How convenient that only now was this information popping up after the altered Zaku had seemed to muddy up Hoshikata's plans.

Shin was a fool to have offered Hoshikata the possibility of joining the village. Was he that blinded by sentiments that he did not realize how unsecure it would be for Hoshikata to even walk as a Kumogakure ninja without some type of contingency. This man was far too dangerous to be trusted and at this point he could see that this was going nowhere good. If they were not careful this man could be working with Titan right now and they wouldn't even know it. Even if he had good intentions the very way he went about things were just so wrong. Yuuto could see it now, Raiden forbid anything happen to Haruka, but if she got hurt on a mission or killed to an outsider Hoshikata would likely blame it on Kumogakure's lack of strength seeking to power himself on a throne. He could barely believe that this man would allow his ambitions to rest, but there was always a chance he was wrong and if Shin was going to let him become apart of Cloud he could only hope that he was wrong.

Now that it seemed to go quiet the Anbu would bend down closer to Ayumu and ask a quick series of questions literally whispering in his ear. "Πιστεύετε πραγματικά αυτός ο άνθρωπος? Zaku πρέπει να καταχωρούνται. Αν δεν αλλάξουμε πορεία θα ήθελες να τον αμφισβητήσει κάπου αλλού?" He would await an answer hopefully the Sennin didn't see him as coming on too strong. There was just too much tension in this room and they hadn't gotten nearly enough reasoning behind Hoshikata's actions for a clear judgement in Yuuto's opinion. At least not what Shin was offering but it was not his place, he could only do his job as best as possible.
[spoilername="Vulgar Translation"]"Do you really believe this man? Zaku needs to be accounted for. If they do not change course would you like me to question him somewhere else?"[/spoilername]

-Outside the Conference Room-

The Shadow Specter would speak to the other woman in a cool tone that almost seemed unworldly. "They keep arguing about the relationship of Hoshikata and the Spymaster. They are just now finding reason to Hoshikata's actions but it doesn't seem to be too grand. It's all ego and self desire I don't see why the Raikage would be offering him the chance to join the village. Well either way Hoshikata broke his binds and is moving freely. I don't know where this debacle is going... Message from Zenku to the guard squard. Just think you people should know in case we need to step in. Hopefully things will settle down."

Hikari attempted to sooth the Shima princess with words that echoed a man they both had idolized. It seemed to be working, Haruka even thanked her for her trust and defense…but then Shin responded in a way that was sure to ruffle more feathers. She was certain that he had the best of intentions, but right then, what they needed was someone to respond impersonally.

Shin continued in the vein of love, which only served to raise tensions in the room. Hikari cleared her throat. She regretted that the question of love had become the topic for this interview, so she tried to break away, once more, to their true purpose.“Regardless of the human heart’s penchant for fickleness, Hayata sama, I believe we must come back to the true matter at hand, because whether he loves her or not- you have heard my opinion- He is not here because of love, but actions past, which I recognize he regrets. While regret is a noble sentiment, it is not enough.” She looked to Zaku, and then back at Hoshikata, “Regardless of whatever else happens, this fact remains; he has committed violent crimes against Kumogakure. In light of his recent service, some of those crimes may be forgiven, but not all. Victims deserve justice. Especially those victimized by a mind controlling jutsu. I want to believe that Hoshikata has changed for Haruka’s sake, but today we must balance mercy with justice, and that, I recognize- as must we all- is no easy thing.”

Haruka, of course, felt the need to defend herself. I would advise you to no longer speak of that which you don't know, sir."

“Shima dono, I advise you to remember to speak respectfully to your Raikage, even when he does not understand you, you do owe him alliegance.” She said to the spymaster as gently and quietly as she could. She followed the comment with, “That said, I will try to advocate on your behalf. Remember you are not alone in your struggles.” Hikari needed Haruka. She was her Spymaster, her advisor, but also her friend. The Sennin had few enough active subordinates, and fewer friends. It was important to her that Haruka knew she could place trust in Hikari, so that Hikari could place trust in her She turned her attention back to the Raikage, speaking at a level more in line with the forum, Hikari continued, “Hayata sama, in spite of the vehemence of her responses, I will say again, Haruka is a trusted member of my branch. There is no reason you should warn her of such a thing.” She said, “Now, back to the true topic at hand. I would like permission to interview or have Ishikawa san interviewed in a separate place, because while here, his former condition might linger in the presence of Hoshikata. He may also simply feel more comfortable outside his kidnapper’s presence.”

Before she could finish, Hoshikata had moved suddenly, his shackles were broken, laying on the table before him. He suddenly reappeared behind Haruka, whispering something soothing to the angry woman. The words seemed to both embolden him, and perhaps, calm Haruka. Whatever he had said, Hikari appreciated the effort he made on Haruka’s behalf. ”I might be speaking out of whatever the bounds of this trial are, but your sennin was right. Our relationship is not up for debate. It is not something for you to peer at and try to understand. It simply is, and nothing you do or say is going to change that. I strongly suggest a new line of thinking on how you're handling this.”

He was speaking outside of the bounds of the trial, but he wasn’t totally wrong. And then he revealed the reason he’d done what he did to Zaku, and Hikari had to fight to remain objective. It was well known that she had a temper and a mouth. She rarely restrained either one, but she did in this case, for the sakes of all involved. “Let me get this straight.” Hikari said, “You kidnapped, mid controlled, and tortured one of Cloud’s Shinobi… for spitesies.” She said, failing to hide her disgust, but succeeding in controlling her temper. He continued explaining his connection to Titan, and offered is assistance in finding them, a gesture which seemed hollow. Hikari wet her lips with her tongue, and looked away, anger making her unable to stand still.

Hikari was surprised and a bit taken aback by the easy agreement Shin presented, the anger she felt precluded, the idea was honestly very silly. Hikari thought that they had seemed to jump several steps. Join cloud for Haruka’s sake? What about Zaku? What about justice for him? “Ah… is that not a thing that should be decided after punishment, Raikage sama? This man has admitted to crimes against the realm. I’m not saying never, simply that as I’m sure both he and Haruka understand, he should face consequences for his actions before being offered a place among us.” Hikari didn’t even speculate on the Titan issue.

Shin went on, speaking of his uncle who he had chosen to spare despite all of the monstrous things the man had done. Ayumu himself had been moments away from ending the Hayata's life but had stopped on Shin's order despite his wishes. What the Raikage said next Ayumu had no doubt the woman would take offense to. He questioned her ability to decide who she truly loved, and anybody would take offense to that. Still, she went too far in her response despite whatever anger she felt as a result of Shin's words. Ayumu was about to say something when Hikari, ever the smooth talker, addressed it first and much more calmly than Ayumu had intention to.

"Mind your Sennin's words," he said simply, Hikari having said what needed to be said. Hikari's request to interview Zaku separately from Hoshikata made sense and Ayumu nodded in agreement. "Probably a good idea," he thought, but there was little time to think on such as Hoshikata suddenly moved and removed his shackles before going invisible. Ayumu's blade was drawn in a moment and his eyes darted about the room as he moved next to Shin alongside Yuuto who was quick to act as well. He had seen Hoshikata's ability to fight unseen before, but if he was intending to fight now with the number of Kumo shinobi in the room he would not like the result. Fortunately he appeared next to Haruka, speaking to her calmly in an attempt to soothe her temper.

"Hoshikata, I understand any shinobi worth their weight could break out of a pair of handcuffs, but if you're trying to show cooperation that's probably not the best way to do so," he said. Yuuto's worked quickly to attempt to rebind Hoshikata, with something a little stronger this time. He was quick to react, something Ayumu would remember. Hoshikata continued to speak, revealing the reason why he took Zaku in the first place. Apparently he was miffed that the gates of the village were heavily guarded, so he decided to punish them for it. "How foolish," Ayumu muttered, shaking his head. It was unbelievably petty, to forcibly take away a man's will and steal him from his homeland because of some perceived slight. Hikari shared Ayumu's disgust. What was said about TITAN was certainly interesting and deserved more looking into at another time. The name had been brought up several times and was definitely warranting a full investigation. The accusations of their intentions only made them out as more of a threat worth investigating.

Apparently Shin had taken what Ayumu had said the wrong way because he seemed to be taking the idea of Hoshikata joining the village as a suggestion. Shockingly, he seemed open to the so-called suggestion, seemingly latching onto it and accepting it outright. Yuuto was clearly displeased with the idea as he whispered to Ayumu in their second language. Ayumu held up a hand to signify that his opinion had been noted. It was more than understandable that he would feel that way. The prospect of allowing Hoshikata to join the village after what he had done was strange indeed. If he had never wronged Zaku, sure, but given that it was just a strange thing to be put on the table.

"Pardon me, Raikage-sama, but I was not suggestion that I think it's a good idea that we allow Hoshikata to join the village. As long as he has the apparent ability to manipulate people's minds I feel it would be far too dangerous to allow such a thing. I'd like to believe Hoshikata is a changed man, sure, but there's no certainty in that. We would put not only ourselves at risk but all of Kumogakure's citizens. Now, if he were to get rid of his so-called "divinity" that allowed him to do such, that would be a step in the right direction. But, how can he join the village when the only one who he respects is Haruka? He certainly doesn't respect any of the leadership," Ayumu spoke to Shin and the others breaking his silence to give his opinion. He didn't want it to be thought that he was all for Hoshikata joining the village without any restrictions or guidelines. Had he performed his good deeds without the shadow of his actions against Zaku, Ayumu probably would have been all for it, but what had been done had been done.

"And my fellow Sennin is right, there should be justice done for what wrong was done to our Deathwatch Captain. Giving up the ability is again a step in the right direction, but that doesn't make everything okay... Actually, Ishikawa... what do you feel would be just?" Ayumu continued, bringing up something he had been wondering all along. The one wronged in all of this more than anybody had been Zaku. He remained silent the whole time, but surely he must have been thinking of something. Nobody in the room should want justice more than he. Perhaps asking the victim about what should be done to his abuser wasn't appropriate, but hey, it was a starting place.
