Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

All good shinobi possess a wide range of abilities that they can call upon whenever in combat, diversifying one's fighting style can truly bring out the most in someone. But every great fighter has a technique in their arsenal that is their bread and butter. Tatsuo had spent a lot of time training his body to not only be capable of fighting in hand to hand but to fire off powerful ninjutsu capable of changing the landscape itself. Wooden tendrils, kicks so fast you had a hard time keeping up, but there was nothing that was truly his. He had no trump card, no ability he had the utmost faith in, and while some may be okay with that. Tatsuo was not.

That was his reason for being in the forest so early this morning. Saito had run off somewhere leaving the Chuunin free of his sensei duties for the day. Today was about growing himself, a duty he had put on the back-burner since taking Saito on as a student. Not to say he regretted teaching him at all, but its always nice to have some time for yourself. Anyways, he sat in a small forest clearing staring at some of the trees. At one point in his youth to sit in the forest like this without being on his toes could've resulted in a nasty fight but those same animals that may have bothered him once realized Tatsuo was no longer a child struggling to perform a simple body switch technique.

He thought back to his last trip to the Forest of Death before making his trek to Kumogakure. He and Akira had spent most of the day in the forest, near his current location they had even got attacked by a pitch black panther looking to make a snack out of two unsuspecting academy students. Luckily the Inuzuka were an intimidating clan and Akira was able to scare off the beast without provoking it further. It had been so long since all that happened, it almost felt like a different life. Sometimes he wondered what he was up to, he hadn't seen him since he returned he could only hope he was doing alright.

After enough day dreaming he finally let out a sigh and kipped up to his feet. He closed his eyes and separated his feet a shoulder's length apart he thought of an ability, maybe a punch? Swift and strong he sent his fist out in front of him in a crippling blow. Wood shot from his arm as if a tree had just sprouted from that very point. Tatsuo looked down and shook his head, he really wasn't impressed. Who would take him seriously if he yelled Wood Punch! It had to be cooler than that. Returning to his stance and thinking for a moment he brought his hands together in a rapid succession, seal after seal without fail, ending with a loud clap of his hands.

From the ground emerged a wooden spike that tore through the earth and sky alike, going as far to strike back into the ground creating a sizable crater. Unless one was incredibly durable, it's not a technique you'd like to make a habit of getting hit by. "Rising Wood Pillar..?" he mumbled to himself. "Nah... That's lame." he said shaking his hands before letting out another sigh. It really was hard to find a signature technique, it had to be cool, useful, and most of all powerful. After a few more failed attempts at creating a move he fell flat to butt creating a crunch of grass underneath him. Leaning back he used his arms to support him as he looked up to the clouds for any inspiration.

Ryo had never been in the forest of death before he had always heard ghost stories about it and this always peaked his curiosity. He looked around at his surroundings and saw large trees, and plants. As he continued to make his way through the forest he heard a loud noise, at first he didn’t pay no attention to it. It was probably an animal. Panicking, at the thought that the animal could be a carnivore. It was probably stalking the young Uchiha, he quickly looked around and he continued his original path but as he continued he could hear the noise get louder and louder.

Maybe he should’ve brought a Yaboi along with him. He could’ve came with a way to get to figure out what he was hearing. But instead he foolishly chose to come alone. Gritting his teeth, he continued to walk forward, but he had begun to hear what sounded like a voice. He made his way towards a bush and hid himself and saw Tatuso yelling, “Wood punch? Is he crazy?” he continued to watch as Tatuso continued to use what seemed to be wood jutsu, he looked on in awe as he saw a wooden spike came out of the ground. “He seems strong.” He mumbled to himself. But he wondered if someone else was around or maybe he was just insane.

Looking around, he took a step out of the bush he was hiding in and approached Tatuso and greeting him, “Hey, I’m Ryo. Who are you?” He looked over the man he could see the leaf headband on his head, he opened his eyes “You’re a leaf ninja? You must be strong. Are you strong?” questions filled his head he had never met this shinobi he probably had amazing stories to tell.

This was the only place in the village that Suyashi would get quiet training, today however, would be a bit different. He was beginning to wonder about how he would surmise the thoughts that would allow him to know more about the 'Land of the Buried Bones.' Tensions rose as he sought out Tsukasa to take him there but she was unavailable because of the busy schedule of running the Medical Branch, to which he wouldnt think twice on, because she was a very strong and high up member of society. So until then, he would train himself, beginning to learn and flourish more as he would begin to learn and cultivate his own abilities. Months before he couldnt have seen himself doing such things, moving as fast or even thinking this way. This was all new to him, this was all surmised to say the least that... he was grateful for the things he'd learned. Grateful for the friends he'd made thus far, humbled by the strong people that were around him helping him to become better.

He'd begun training that technique his mother taught him a while back... quaintly called Kirigakure No jutsu a jutsu that covered the field in a thick vapor, so thick because of the chakra that was infused with the molecules of the air. This was something that helped his chakra, but ninjutsu he could only hold for so long especially when working with the strain of his body with Taijutsu. He was trying to figure out a way to fit everything in. His mother's techniques... his fathers... his own. It was just so much for him to handle and to take in but he was trying his best... Alas forming handseals and striking about with his Golden Tanto, he tried his best to make things work for him rather than against him.

One would be able to hear him in the distance before he came upon Ryo and Tatsuo, but not the other way around. His focus on his training and sparrin against his own shadow took his other senses away. Though leaping from a tree and finding hsi body flowing through the thickness of the fog, he'd be revealed to the Duo, panting and sweating the fog behind him would begin to dissipate and thin as he'd release the jutsu and sheath his weapons,"... Oi... Ryo-san. Who is this guy?", tilting his head not hearing the moments before but seeing the construct of wood in a spike before him with the man known as Tatsuo. He seemed pretty cool... And with just a sniff and a wiff of the chakra in the air he could sense get a gist of how strong he was.. "Oioi...I'm Minamoto Suyashi. Whats ya name friend?", Sushi boy would smile brightly before holding out a hand to the man. Naive. But Sushi was still a student, learning how to be a shinobi especially with people he didnt quite know yet.

Tatsuo failed to notice the approaching Ryo, he had gotten too caught up in his training and when the Uchiha finally presented himself Tatsuo nearly jumped to his feet. His attention shot to the boy now attacking him with a verbal barrage of questions and while he had no issue in answering them he was surprised about how fast kids could ask them. A small grin appeared on his face as he was reminded of his own childhood and the many questions he would bother anyone who would give him the time to ask.

As for looks, Tatsuo's headband was proudly displayed on his forehead keeping his dark brown hair out of the way. "Yeah, i'm a Leaf Ninja." he said bringing a hand to his headband and adjusting it a bit for good measure. "Chuunin, actually." Today he forewent the Flak in favor of a more light training attire. Black pants that went to his ankles and a black shirt that reached to his wrists, a Konoha symbol embezzled into the shoulder of his shirt. While Tatsuo was older than the two he definitely was not old by any traditional sense. He was aged around sixteen even if he could probably pass for eighteen if he tried but would definitely seem a generation before the teachers they were used to.

Before he managed to even mention his name another boy shot out from the treeline like lightning cutting through the sky. His bright honey colored hair adding to the symbolism of his entry. It'd seem the two knew each other from their quick reaction which brought another noticeable grin to Tatsuo's face. He was more than happy to see the students getting along and while he had little interaction with the academy itself he still cared deeply about the students who inhabited it.

It wasn't long before the lightning-kid would greet himself, extending his hand in which Tatsuo would extend his own giving Suyashi a firm shake. "Ranna, Tatsuo of K--" his face turned red for a moment and shook his head. "I suppose we're all from Konoha here." he would quickly bring his arm into the direction of Ryo offering him a similar shake. After the introductions concluded Tatsuo looked to the two arrivals and rubbed his chin in thought, "So what are you two doing out here in the forest, it's not exactly a safe place for kids." he said before shaking his head just a bit, kind of ironic considering he spent a good amount of his youth avoiding whatever giant snake was trying to eat him that day in the forest.

He shook Tatuso’s hand, he was intrigued by this new shinobi he had never met, “I’m just out here exploring! I didn’t have much to do today. And I’m pretty strong if you ask me.” He smirked and looked at Suyashi. “I dunno I just got here and found him shouting strange things like wood punch. And then a giant spike made of wood came out of the ground!” he looked back at Tatuso “What are you doing out here? And what were those things you were shouting? Is it some type of jutsu? I’ve never seen anyone use that type of element.” Ryo thought about some more questions to ask Tatuso but could not find any. Maybe he should’ve brought his friend Yaboi along to meet this new and strange Shinobi.

Ryo looked around the forest and looked at it’s vastness, “This looks like a good place to practice jutsu.” Ryo had recently mastered several jutsu he had wanted to practice but practicing with a real shinobi could be exciting, “Hey do you think I can practice with you? If you can handle it I mean.” he smirked and looked at Tatuso waiting for his response.

Strong and shakes and such else aside, smirking a bit he'd listen to the man known as Woody the Chuunin man... Or Tatsuo for short. "Eh, I'm not from Konoha... I was born in Kirigakure before it froze over.", nodding a bit though this was definitely someone of interest. Tatsuo's chakra seemed to be flowing out of him, or rather the pressure of his chakra was something that Sushi was beginning to understand, he couldnt sense chakra that well right now, but the fact that he could smell it because of his training with his senses with the Canines, he was beginning to understand the pressure of chakra around him. He still had alot to learn...

"I was training myself, I had alot of energy I was building up just sitting around so I decided to try to perfect my jutsu... but my chakra is terri-bad.", chuckling a bit he'd bellow out a laugh before continuing, "Though, you're one of the only Chuunin I've seen. Only Jounin, Sennin, and the Kage I've met aside from other students so far... Its a bit weird.", though that wasnt counting the other faceless people he passed by, but the only meaningful meetings he had so far were as he listed. Who knew in all honesty, maybe he wasnt paying attention, which could be the case, this was the same kid that nearly bled out after hitting his head on a desk in a class with Ryo. Embarrassing. Though as Ryo would speak up on practicing, Sushi would nod. "Heh! I doubt he could keep up with you Ryo, he maybe a Chuunin but we havent seen him around... He hasnt even been around when I was doing my own....investigations at the spa. Hehe. I'd like to join in though if you're up for the both of us Tatsuo-senpai...", though Suyashi was a bit winded still he could still keep up his Taijutsu which he only had his one blade with him... Hm...

Tatsuo listened to Suyahi's explanation about not being from the Leaf and nodded his head, he had never been to the mist. By some freak accident the village froze over apparently sending the citizens in a diaspora. It was sad but at least he was here in Konoha, out of all the villages he had visited he felt like refugees would be most welcomed here in Konoha but he smiled to him, "Well either way, you're a fellow shinobi, whether you were born here or there I don't mind much."

His face grew red as Ryo explained that he had heard Tatsuo shout about his attempts to create a new ability, bringing his hand to rub the back of his head he shook his head and said "Uh-- I mean.. well, I was trying to create a new jutsu. And yeah I use Wood Style, I've never met anyone else who used it but who knows." he said offering a shrug, "I'm sure there are others." He was wanting to get back to his training but it wasn't long before the boys asked if they could join him. It would be unfair and against his morals to turn them away so he offered a firm nod and said "Yeah, i'll try to keep up. But i'll be honest with you guys, i'm not looking to teach anything. Though if you all want to help create some jutsu, i'd be more than happy to help." He turned to create some distance between the trio as to not get any of them caught in the crossfire of his jutsu.

After getting a bit of space to himself he slammed his hands into the ground creating a wooden wall that was easily the height of a large home, however it stopped right at the tree line, being sure to not knock over any trees or disrupt the nature of the area too much. "Striking Wood Wall!" He shouted, as the wall began to grow inwards to its center and create a giant spear much like the one before just larger and stronger. The intensity in which it shot back into the earth could've thrown the two off balance if there footing was bad. At this point he was trying to show off, while not all of the adults may have thought much of him, he couldn't have the kids thinking he was lame.

Ryo looked at Suyashi, “I never knew you were from Kirigakure.” Suyashi sure did have an interesting backstory to him. Ryo hadn’t ever spoken to him before so maybe now this was his chance to learn more about the Minamoto boy. “Yeah are you new to the village?” he turned to Tatuso. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you around the village.”

Ryo was unsure of Tatusos claim of being a chuunin, he’s met many shinobi of the leaf village but not this man claiming to be a chuunin. “A chunin?” He looked at Tatuso’s leaf attire, “Who would’ve guessed you were a chuunin.” He watched as Tatuso’s face turned red as he explained, “Create new jutsu? Oh, that explains why you were shouting like a crazy person.” He listened to Tatuso explain about how he’s a wood style user, and Ryo thought if he had ever met a wood style user beforehand, but he was quick to realize that Tatuso was the only one that could come to mind.

He walked away from Tatsuo to create some between him and Tatuso, he must be using a powerful jutsu. He looked back at the wooden spike that Tatuso made come out of the ground and wondered if that was all that Tatuso can do. As he watched Tatuso prepare himself, then Ryo felt the ground tremble, keeping and he watched as the wooden wall emerged from the ground, “Can you make your own house with wood style?” he didn’t expect Tatuso to create a large wooden wall.

After waiting for Tatuso to stand up he smiled “That’s pretty cool. I don’t know how to do that, but I can use fire, lightning and scorch styles. But not so much lightning. I’ve only really mastered fire and scorch. I also use genjutsu.” He didn’t include Taijutsu since he doesn’t really practice it as much as he should. He has only focused on his ninjutsu and genjutsu for fighting.

It was quick, and he had a much grander form than Sushi did, but Sushi was not a boy to be mettled with. He was better than most other students, Ryo and Kouza were likely the only ones that Sushi respected enough to give him a run for his money to be completely serious without playing around in the beginning. Though, that was to be seen, as the events that led to Yaboi defeating Kouza had not happened yet n the mind of Sushi. Maybe they did and he wanted to suppress those thoughts right now. Either way looking over to Ryo, and smirking, "Heh, Around the first time I met you Ryo was in my first months being here...", nodding he would look over to the Tatsuo guy. He was strong... He could smell it. Feel it. Sense it. Only on a minor level at this moment but this was definitely something to be thought of in the subject matter to come later on... Sushi was eager to see what this guy had.

Speaking of trying to keep up, it was hard for Sushi to keep up with the higher ups and their fighting. His reactions hadnt gotten down to a science quite yet but he was sure that he could with training under his belt. He had to test himself against people stronger than he. This would be one of the first tests that he would begin to put himself through. There wasnt a thing stopping him from pursuing his goals of being the best. And one of the most renown specialists in the village, maybe even the world. Though that wouldnt be today... he was a boy working to to prove his worth. As Tatsuo would step back though Sushi would line up next to Ryo maybe a meter or two to his right, Though it would seem the man was trying to throw off their footing or was he trying to get them to react? Ryo would go on talking about his abilities as Sushi would guessly be the first to jump into combat!

"Ranton: Raiun!"- [Storm Style: Thunderclap] - , causing Suyashi to form handseals just before clapping his hands together to send a lasers out of Suyashi's finger tips to the Wooden Wallas he'd leap out of the way landing perpendicularly to the ground as he clutched the tree with his chakra, 'Being on a Tree probably isnt the best idea right now... but we're in a forest... I dont have a choice. Crap.', thinking to himself as he surmised that if he could control Wood and Trees maybe he could manipulate the ones already around? Who knew but he didnt wanna test the theory or get caught in it. "Tch, If you need to know, I'm A Storm jutsu user, I'm really good with Lightning and Water, but I have some Fire jutsu as well... My best is Taijutsu... but I'm not taking this seriously yet... I wanna see what the Chuunin's got, then I'll pull out my real jutsu! Heh!"

He watched Suyashi form the hand seals for the jutsu he was casting, he recognized it, he had never seen Suyashi perform jutsu. Listening to his explanation that he was a storm user, he hadn’t heard of someone using storm style before it must’ve been something he picked. Watching the jutsu strike the wooden wall, Ryo felt that he couldn’t allow Suyashi to show him up to this new shinobi, quickly forming some handseals, “Kanton!”-[Fireball] taking a deep breath and placed his hand over his mouth, forming a circle with his thumb and index finger, quickly breathing he released a large fireball at Tatsuo’s wooden wall.

Ryo looked at Suyashi fall back onto a tree, thinking that on a tree is the last place he wants to be, he moved over to an open field if Tatuso used his wooden pillar again he would be quick enough to avoid it. He hadn’t ever seen how a Wood style user in combat or heard of one. He was interested to see how Tatuso would react to both Suyashi and Ryo’s attack. Waiting for a little more time, he quickly formed some handseals and shouted “Shakuton!”-[Convection Spheres] he held both of his hands beside his head, but keeping some distance between them, “I also have some tricks up my sleeve, Suyashi.” Above his hands sphere of flaming orbs would be formed, after forming they would rotate around Ryo, and another set would appear. He turned to Tatuso’s wooden wall waiting for a response.

I just wanted to show off.. Tatsuo thought to himself as the two sprung into action, but he couldn't help but be impressed. It was nice to see kids who were so eager to train and sharpen their skills and while he didn't exactly want to spend today training people, he could at least use them as some targets. As the lightning lasers and the fireballs struck into the wall it seemed to burn and crack, but from the earth rose a new barrier but it didn't seem to stop growing. It split off into many wooden tendrils which sought out Suyashi and Ryo, like birds hunting a mouse. While the tendrils wouldn't actually strike the boys given the chance, a quick tap at most. Wood had a special property in being able to be controlled so readily, it shared the properties of earth and water, making it both stiff and strong, but also fluid and maneuverable.

There were six tendrils in total, however three struck directly into the earth below Tatsuo. He was unaware if the boys were observant enough to notice but the small ripple in the grass, a tear in the earth below might give them a hint but the three striking at them from above ground seemed to be the more vicious threat. They were flat, to not stab the boys but to just tap them. Two chased after Suyashi while a single one went for Ryo. However underneath the earth two would be going to grab the Uchiha while a single one sought to interrupt Suyashi. The game was set and now it was time to see just how well these kids could keep up. After all, they started it.
