Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Nobuyuki had taken the time to set aside an office in the administration wing for his purposes. There was a camera and boom mic set up in the room, as well as his personal recorder sitting on the table, ready to be set to record when Junko arrived.

The sennin was there to get a copy of the autopsy for himself and any other evidence the young man might have available regarding that fateful day the Raikage and Daisuke were slain. He had Kitsune's testimony, however truthful it was, but it was the hard evidence of the investigation and autopsy at the time that would give the most truthful answer. As long as they weren't doctored as well.

So now he would wait for Junko, and upon his arrival would hit the record buttons on all the devices before he would begin to speak. His mask was on as usual outside the sileo.

"I'd rather skip the pleasantries and cut to what needs to be said. I don't want to waste your time, and I am sure you want me to get to the bottom of this as well. So, Tsuyoshi Junko, you performed the autopsy on the bodies that were left lifeless on that day. Do you have copies of the reports I might be able to have? And is there any other evidence that you might be able to provide to help provide insight into what happened that day?" he would ask.

As a courtesy, Nobuyuki had sent word to Ayumu through their respective secretaries that he had scheduled a meeting with Junko and that Ayumu could join him if he wished. Ayumu was already in possession of the autopsy results Junko submitted which he had retrieved along with the rest of the evidence file Akira had put together. However, due diligence compelled them to verify things with Junko and also see if there was anything more he could add that would aid them in the investigation. He appeared eager to aid them, at the least.

A visit they had with Kitsune had already proven… interesting. She was mostly just outraged that they were less than understanding about her actions. Junko was likely to be a different story. He seemed interested in achieving justice above all else. Hopefully they would find that to be true today. On the other hand, they needed to make sure his judgement wasn’t compromised either. He was obviously very angry, which was something that could easily cloud judgement. Hopefully he could prove himself to be of a more sound mind than in their last meeting when he had opted to attack the Raikage to prove a point.

Ayumu entered the office behind Nobuyuki, remaining quiet for the time being as he opened up the folder he held and went over the information he had, leaning against a back wall of the office. Once more, Nobuyuki had brought along equipment to record the interaction once more, and once more Ayumu used his Snapshot jutsu to keep a record of the event for himself. Once Junko entered, Nobuyuki took the lead and began the questioning. He was straight to the point, which was something Ayumu appreciated. Ayumu simply looked to Junko for his response, remaining silent for the time being.

Entering the room, Junko already knew what the deal was. "I knew this would come sooner or later." Junko thought taking his seat in front of the Sennin. The stage was set and Junko was ready to turn over what ever info he had. Observing the two fellow shinobi, Junko nodded to begin.

I'd rather skip the pleasantries and cut to what needs to be said. I don't want to waste your time, and I am sure you want me to get to the bottom of this as well. So, Tsuyoshi Junko, you performed the autopsy on the bodies that were left lifeless on that die. Do you have copies of the reports I might be able to have? And is there any other evidence that you might be able to provide to help provide insight into what happened that day?"

"No, I do not have the official documentation I submitted, but I remember the autopsy vividly. It's something I can't forget even if I wanted to." Junko said bluntly. The medical chief spoke with seriousness, while attempting to be as straight forward as possible.

"Just to reiterate from memory." Junko said pulling out a pen and large notepad from his desk. "The deaths were Hoshikata, Raikage Hayata shin, the former medical sennin Daisuke, and a genin named Raitoningu Ejji. Hayata Shin and Hoshikata had puncture wounds which I found, acid over their entire body, and internal damage. The only difference was Shin. He had an excessive loss of blood." Junko said writing as he spoke. "Daisuke and Ejji had acid covering their bodies and abnormal cuts, scrapes, and bruises. The only difference was Ejji. He had an excessive loss of blood. Unlike the others, they had no puncture wounds. Judging from the acid, cuts, and bruises, their was no way those two would've been killed with so little damage. Observing them closely, it was concluded that some form of medical work was done to the bodies to cause an high alteration." Junko said with a nod as he stopped talking and slid the autopsy notes to the ANBU sennin.

"As for additional information, I was a witness of kitsunes testimony and referenced her details with my autopsy to remember her words and the story she told. In the end, I concluded that my autopsy was correct. Moving on, I managed to locate an ex-harvester." Junko said thinking back.

"As you know, the harvesters went into hiding. After kitsune realized that Keiji went missing and the harvesters seemingly vanished off the face of the earth, she disbanded the entire group and formed her own. Anyways, I found a man by the of Mokushi in his late twenties. He's a chimera with the abilities of a hyuuga, Inuzuka, and Hashigaki that lives near Kushibs property. He kept referring to him as master. I attempted to recover kinjutsu information from the ex harvester. He refused. I even kindly requested to be led to kushin to gain this information. Based on my psychological evaluation of the man through our conversation, His mind had obviously been tampered with and fear was devouring the man's life." Junko said bluntly once more with a short pause.

"Honestly, I Wanted to get to him before anyone else did. After all, the old harvesters are under investigation and the man's life could very well be in danger. Who knows. He's the only one in hiding that's been found. Anyways, the plan was to gather what ever info possible, capture him, put him in the mental health facility, and inform the correct personnel." Junko said shaking his head.

"Unfortunately things didn't go as planned as I tried to capture the individual. Authorities were called and we were placed in custody. I gave my side, and it was understandable, but it seemed as if they had me confused. Rather he said no or not to my request, he had to be captured. Anyways, Perhaps I shouldn't have taken matters into my own hands, but I don't trust too many right around now. " Junko said knowing that the Sennin would understand why.

"That's all I have. Now, if you want to see the autopsy for your self, hear and see kitsunes testimony, I have a jutsu perfect that reacts to my memory. With my memory on the subjects being quite vivid, I'm sure you'd have all the information you need from me. Also, you'll be able to match my words with the scenes." Junko said awaiting for a response and any questions. Hopefully, he could knock the questions out now. "Oh, and feel free to bring your cameras and stuff." Junko said with a nod.

Nobuyuki listened to Junko and took notes when he needed to. He was not here to question him like he had questioned Kitsune. He was hear for information for the most part since the man didn't have much involvement except being the one to perform the autopsy.

The sennin recalled a report crossing his desk that sounded similar to that encounter with the harvester. "Hmmm." he grunted struggling to remember the details. But what was more interesting were the words that Junko let go regarding his lack of trust at the given moment. Nobuyuki nodded his head slowly. He reckoned that a good many shinobi were evaluating who they could trust at that point. The revelations of the Raikage, along with the Yakuza attack at the gates were bad enough. However, the consequence that was most damaging was the distrust that was sowed amongst the corps.

There was one other thing. As far as he knew, the harvesters were not under investigation by the ANBU, Main, or Medical branch. Probably more of those nasty rumors, still, it was troubling that rumors played so heavily on the minds of those in the village. First Kotsuko, and now Junko taking action because of them...

Junko offered to show them first hand what had happened. Nobuyuki looked to Ayumu with a shrug. "If the Kogami-san doesn't mind, and if you believe it will assist the investigation, by all means. Just direct me where to move the equipment before you begin."

Junko wasted no time diving into his recount of the autopsy. He had a good memory, enough to recall the details with ease it seemed. Ayumu would have been hesitant to accept this, but what he was saying lined up perfectly with the document Ayumu had in front of him. Shrugging, he let Junko go on with the details. This was mostly to verify that what Saito had given the Sennin was accurate and so far Junko had not revealed any discrepancies. He gave Nobuyuki his notes, which Ayumu quickly scanned from where he was standing, thankful he hadn't left his glasses in his office. He looked up as Junko considered, verifying that he was present for Kitsune's first confession and that it lined up with what he had concluded from his autopsy. They had heard Kitsune's confession and Nobuyuki had sent his recording to Akira by now. Kitsune was likely going to be judged very soon one way or another. Ayumu's recommendation had been for demotion or even forced retirement, stopping short of suggesting execution. Some part of him pitied her, which was why he didn't wish her dead, but he didn't feel that she was worthy of being a shinobi anymore. Regardless, it was in Akira's hands now.

At the mention of an ex-harvester, Ayumu cocked an eyebrow as his interest was caught. The harvesters were a part of all of this, too. They had carried out orders to eliminate ANBU that might have had information to implicate the council and others involved. Those truly to blame were their superiors, for handing out the orders, but the harvesters were definitely of interest in the investigation. As Junko said, they had all but disappeared when Keiji fled the village. Given that he had apparently had the rapport with them to tell them to stand down when Shin was attacked, it was entirely possible that he had also told them to get the hell out of dodge when he left. Junko continued, telling of a man with the Chimera Kinjutsu in possession of a few different bloodlines.

The man saw Kushin as his master, which was curious. Ayumu was fairly familiar with Kushin having served alongside him as Sennin for some years. The man was... interesting, to say the least. He was a bit of a loose cannon at times, and his views on morality sometimes differed from Shin's drastically. He had left the village, and his position, a while back to pursue something. Ayumu didn't know what it was, but it must have been important to him. He might have not always seen eye to eye with Kushin, but the man was loyal at least as far as Ayumu had seen. 'So who is this guy calling Kushin his master?' Ayumu wondered, listening to Junko's story. Junko had tried to get information from the harvester, but failed and then resorted to trying to capture the man. 'Brash, again...' Ayumu thought, shaking his head. Junko didn't have the authority to just capture a resident of Kumo by his own will. It was no wonder ANBU had been called and he'd been taken into custody briefly. Junko's reasoning that he didn't trust many people prompted a sigh from Ayumu.

With that, Junko suggested using a jutsu to allow the Sennin to see the autopsy and Kitsune's confession, although they had already had the latter repeated for them in person. It sounded like a Snapshot, but different. Nobuyuki was fine with it, and Ayumu figured it couldn't hurt to see it. "I don't mind, but returning to the subject before for one moment: Junko, you should have come to one of us before you went to see Mokushi. You know you can't just act on your own like that. I know that it's difficult to trust after what happened..." Ayumu said, lifting himself from leaning against the wall and walking closer to the other two. "I lost friends that day, too," Ayumu said, a solemn look crossing his face briefly before it was replaced with one of sincerity. "But you can't let that control you. If you can't trust your allies, who can you trust?" Ayumu continued, posing a rhetorical question to Junko. Sighing again, he crossed his arms as he hoped the point got across to Junko. To move forward under the assumption that he could trust nobody would not end well.

"But I digress. Now... let's see your jutsu."

"I lost friends that day, too,"

"But you can't let that control you. If you can't trust your allies, who can you trust?"

"But I digress. Now... let's see your jutsu."

Giving a long pause, Junko took a few moments to look at the sennin. "You're right and I do trust, just not too many. Things will change once everything's settled. I'll finally have that peace stuff my brother babbles about." Junko said with a smile. Starting a series of hand signs, Junkos chakra began to swirl behind him, similar to the sharingans Kamui technique. In a matter of moments though, the chakra expanded into a rather large vortex.

Junkos power had increased with this technique and he mastered it. He could hold it for as long as he wanted, used less chakra with it, and it exercised his mind to the highest degree. His memory bank was enhanced. It was nothing to remember small details. Often though, he would find something's fuzzy, or not quite clear. Rather it was sounds or images.

"Enter please." Junko said standing before making his way in. Once his visitors entered, they'd notice everything was blank. Completely white, and dull. Seeing as it was a disconnection from the outside world, certain frequencies would end. Such as radios. If they needed outlets, they'd be out of luck as well.

---------------Scene 1----------------

288bn1z.jpg

In a matter of moments, the area around them began swirling in a variety of colors. A brown office table slowly faded into existence in between the individuals with a series of Walls, carpet, office chairs, and more. If the Sennin recognized, they'd be standing in the same office they were in a matter of days ago. Except, it was in its original model.

In moments, the room began to shift once more. The walls received cracks, the floor was painted in blood, the table fell from missing a leg, and the stench of death with acid grew around them. Behind him, the bodies of Shin, Daisuke, Ejji, and Hoshikata rested. Laying in the same position Junko saw them when he did the autopsy which were the most descriptive. Some of the room would have flaws, such as the table, ceiling, and a bit of the floor, but it was quite accurate.

"Take all the time you need, and let me know when you're ready to continue." Junko said with a nod.

---------------Scene 2----------------

Sitting in a meditative position, The room spun and twirled once more. Junko needed his absolute concentration when it came to repeating someone's words. No memory would be that perfect, unless you used snapshot of course. Unfortunately, Junko didn't snapshot the conversation. So, he'd just have to do the best he could.

As the scene was set, the spotlight was set on kitsune as Akira, and Ren was also in the room with Junko. Through out the convo, kitsune words would sometimes slur, stutter, or pause. Nothing too drastic, it just showed that Junkos memory wasn't perfect.
in
”Regardless. I’d prefer it if you kept her on a shorter leash. This is still my office, and my hospital.” Kitsune said pointedly and folded her arms. ”In any case. The events. I arrived a tad late for the meeting, which I had been invited to by Hayata-sama himself. I figured it was because I was second in command of the medical branch at the time. When I arrived, Isaki Hoshikata, Shima Haruka, Shima Ai, Suzaku Keiji, Kaguya Daisuke, Raitoningu Ejji, and Hayata Shin were already there. Apparently just prior to my showing up, Hayata-sama had said something which infuriated Isaki-san who went on a tirade about how he had done the village several services, and that he returned from his exile expecting entry into the village, and perhaps even acceptance into our shinobi corps. He then rather expertly deduced that Kogami Ayumu had stepped down from his position as ANBU sennin seeing as he wasn’t present, and that Tanaka Hikari also had personal issues as she wasn’t present either, but Haruka-chan was.”

She took a short breath and poured some water into a glass and drank about half of it before continuing. ”After that he went on about how he had been treated and how Hayata-sama apparently hadn’t been man enough to meet him at the gates, and finally snapped. Keiji-kun tried talking him down, and postponing their fight if not outright cancelling it. But, as we both know, that didn’t work as intended. Then Haruka-chan began speaking, and denounced the ideas that Hayata-sama had proposed just minutes prior, saying that if he went through with the plans, he wouldn’t be any better than the man Hoshikata once was.” she said, taking a short pause to put her memories in the proper sequence so things happened in the right order.

”She then said, that she didn’t desire to see her comrades of Kumogakure harmed, and that she only wanted the end of the reign of destruction that Hayata Shin would cause if we allowed him to continue going further. She then directly said that if we stood down, we would not be harmed. Keep in mind, at the time we had reason to believe that Hoshikata had lied about letting go of his otherworldly powers and returning to being a regular shinobi again. I opted to stand down, as my vow to give my life for Hayata-sama had already been carried out.” she said and pulled down the choker she always wore, to reveal the scar in the dead center of her throat.

”I received this scar, giving my life to protect Hayata-sama, as well as my fellow Kumo-nin and the Shogun, heck, even the Queen of Bear and the representatives from Marsh. Masao-san revived me with the Holy Grail of Tenouza. Only it didn’t work right away. So never got to know that his action actually worked.” she explained and then resumed her recount of the events in the meeting room that day. ”Shima Ai, opted to follow Haruka-chan, and Daisuke-san opted to fight for Hayata-sama. He said that he had no wish to fight the Shimas or Hoshikata, and he didn’t even agree with Shin’s proposal, but he couldn’t accept that they’d just kill Hayata-sama. He went on to say that he wouldn’t blame me or Keiji-kun if we elected to fall back on this one, and gave his final orders as Medical Sennin. Which was to promote Keiji-kun to a Chief Mednin, and to underline that if he went, I would be the next Sennin.”

It was a long tale, sure. But it had to be said. The council couldn’t spy on them in this particular office, and as such she could speak freely, unlike if she had been out and about. ”Keiji-kun and I remained on the defensive, protecting ourselves and being ready to avoid incoming attacks if necessary. He radioed his team of harvesters and told them to not interfere. Ejji-san looked like she was paralyzed with fear, really. Then again. A genin getting caught in the crossfire between titans like Hayata-sama and Hoshikata. Must’ve been horrible. Hayata-sama tried to apologize to Hoshikata, but he wouldn’t hear any of it. Hayata-sama then tried to get them to agree to let Ejji-san leave, but that too was shut down. Then the actual fight started. Ai shot Hayata-sama full of arrows, and Haruka-chan encased them in ice mirrors, while Hoshikata seemed to gather more power into himself. Long battle short, Ai ended up shooting Hayata-sama, Hoshikata, and Ejji-san full of arrows. It was mostly Hoshikata and Haruka-chan’s doing in regards to Daisuke-san’s demise. However, after that, Haruka-chan and Ai turned on Hoshikata and murdered him as viciously as Daisuke-san had been. Then they finished off both Hayata-sama and Ejji-san. Afterwards, Keiji-kun and I were asked to mask the wounds on the bodies. I intentionally used an acid to melt the flesh around the arrow wounds, as I knew it would be discovered in the autopsy, and that this whole ordeal would eventually be put straight.”

Kitsune shook her head lightly ”I mean. Those two had literally just taken down our Raikage himself, as well as an S+-rank danger in almost one go. Not doing as asked would be the same as asking them to go ahead and shoot me that very instant. She came up with a cover story for what had happened, and upon my finishing the rather sloppy, if I do say so myself, work on the corpses, I went to get the nearest council member to inform them of the events that had transpired. Keiji-kun spoke to his team members and informed them that they had heard nothing. After the councilors had seen what had transpired, we were detained and we were meant to give our statements. Classic isolation tactic, too. It turned out that Ai snapped, or got bored, or something along those lines, and told the council what had really happened.”

She emptied the glass entirely, then reached down into the bottom drawer of her desk, and withdrew a bottle of Raimei Whiskey, pouring a bit into her glass and leaving the bottle on the desk, then producing another couple of glasses so Rega and Saito could help themselves if they wished. ”I’m fairly sure you already know what happened after our interrogation by the council, Saito-kun. They covered it all up, and likely rigged the election to make Haruka-chan win as well. I have no proof of the election being rigged, but I wouldn’t put it past them. And that should bring us up to speed on events, correct Saito-kun?”

"And that's all, I would take things further, but things are a bit straining on the mind when it comes to remembering convos word by word. If I wouldn't have reference her statement with my own knowledge, I doubt I would've gotten that far." Junko would say wrapping things up. "Questions? Comments? anything else I can help you with?" Junko would say as the void faded back to white. Once the sennin would make their exit, he'd do the same.

If everything was wrapped up, Junko would head out as they left. He had to take care of a few things and check up on Karin at home.

Topic Left-After Sennin

Nobuyuki took the opportunity to get as many pictures as possible inside of the crime scene as he could, and with as much detail as possible. He wasn't quite sure how the jutsu worked, but he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth. For a moment, the sennin stopped to look at Shin and the others who laid dead on the floor. He sighed. "What happened Shin... You were everything the village needed. Why would anyone want you dead?" he questioned himself. Even with Kitsune's testimony, it was clear that Nobuyuki had not made up his mind on what might have happened that day. When he was finished, he awaited Ayumu if he was not already waiting and then proceeded to allow Junko to do what he planned.

This next part was for the video and recording devices. Nobuyuki quickly got the shot right to include as much of the recreated scene as possible and then just stood by and listened to what was being said.

Parts of her speech were nearly identical to what she had said when the pair of sennin had talked to her before. And it wasn't just similar, it was literally the same as what she had said before. "Did she memorize what she had planned to say? Perhaps her foresight was even greater than I anticipated." he thought to himself. Naturally, there were deviations to what she had said as well, given the situation she was in. But the details that were different Nobuyuki would analyze later in the privacy of his office between the recordings.

At the end of it all, Junko asked for questions or comments. Nobuyuki thought for a moment before looking towards him one final time. He shook his head, and awaited Ayumu if the man had anything else to add. He would then pack up the equipment and be on his way.

[Topic Left if Ayumu Leaves]

Ayumu watched as it appeared as though space and time was distorting behind Junko. It would have been slightly alarming if Junko had not indicated that he was about to perform a jutsu. The distortion expanded into a gaping vortex which Junko beckoned the two Sennin to enter, entering it himself. Ayumu reached his hand up to his head and ruffled his hair a bit before making up his mind to follow. "Well, it isn't the weirdest thing I've seen..." he mumbled as he followed Junko through. Upon passing into the new area, he was nearly blinded at first by the stark whiteness of the space. After a moment, more distortions appeared all around them as objects began to phase into existence. A desk, chairs, the carpet... bodies. 'Ugh...' Ayumu thought as his eyes caught sight of Shin and the others, lying motionless on the ground. He had never seen the conference room before it had been restored. The sight was chilling, especially seeing the two men he was so familiar with seeing alive laying dead on the ground.

Sighing, Ayumu followed Nobuyuki to the bodies and inspected them starting with whichever Nobuyuki wasn't looking at first. He left collecting the actual evidence to Nobuyuki and his recording devices. Ayumu was simply taking a close look for himself to see if anything stood out, although his snapshot would still allow him to keep a record of the scene so long as it didn't get replaced later. Once he was finished with the grizzly task of looking over the corpses, he began to take a look around the room at the destruction caused by the fight, the damage from missed attacks, and anything else of interest. Once both he and Nobuyuki were finished, Ayumu nodded at Junko to indicate they were done. With that, their surroundings changed once more. Kitsune and Akira appeared with Junko and another Ayumu wasn't familiar with.

The replay started off with Kitsune responding to something in her typically arrogant way. The relevant part came as Kitsune began recollecting her memory of the day in question. It was bizarre to listen to, and not just because of the audio glitches every now and then. It was almost as though Ayumu was experiencing Deja Vu as he listened to Kitsune speak. Some parts of the confession were nearly word for word as if they had been copied and pasted. 'Did she rehearse it?' Ayumu wondered. As strange as it was, it didn't mean that it wasn't true. If Kitsune was going to lie, Ayumu imagined that she would paint herself in a better light. After all, she was going to lose her Senninship as a result of it. The confession was wrapped up and the scene faded leaving them in the nothingness of Junko's void once more. Ayumu was eager to leave, heading out into the office in the real world once more. Junko had asked if there was anything else and Nobuyuki shook his head.

"No, Junko, I think that'll be all for now. Thank you for your cooperation," Ayumu said, giving a nod, "I'm sure we all have things to get back to." Ayumu looked around as if to assure himself that they were really back in the real world once more and then made for the exit. "See you both later," Ayumu said to both of them. With that, he left to digest what he had just seen. It wasn't a pleasant image to have in his mind, especially not with the clarity that the snapshot jutsu brought. What was worse was that he would no doubt be replaying it later to see if he had missed anything.
