Kamaru rubbed his eyes and sighed, it still didn’t make sense to him. Why blow up a place with no actual real value, economically, symbolically, and tactically the location was bland. The coffee shop wasn’t the best in town or the worst. No one wanted to ruin their reputation for being the most prestigious coffee shop few were doing worst and with that in mind it wasn’t bad enough that it would have driven someone insane enough from how horrific the coffee was to blow the place up. It wasn’t in a prime location for a business of its kind and tactically there wasn’t anything in the area that would benefit from it being demolished. It was just a hole in the wall coffee shop unless the point was to blow up a small business with no real reason besides showing it could be done. It wasn’t a high yield bombing location for a result. Kamaru scratched his head looking over his notes, no major influential people or local/nation celebrities seemed to frequent the place from those among the customers dead or a alive or among the injured, even the critically injured seemed to be nothing more than a slice of the population. Nothing leading to beliefs of an organized crime assassination attempt within the victims and on top of that the owner had been hit during the blast it seemed since he was at the business and was in a coma so questioning him was out as well.
Kamaru had too many dead ends to questions to find a feasible reasoning behind it so he shifted from looking into why it was done and started focusing on the how it was done. The police force calling in experts from the mining industry locally for assistance had Kamaru scratching his head, without the use of chakra the investigation boiled down to the measurements and math of the situation. Bringing in experts from the mining industry was very simple although initially it went over Kamaru’s head, they’d be the best option to explain the blast specifics versus those on civil services since they rarely blew things up. Whoever did bomb the place did know what they were doing, the charge was set off where structurally anything left standing would crumble the remains of the building needing to be scrapped with nothing worth rebuilding on. The people in the way were unfortunately those with the initial area died were few the majority had been injured or maimed several losing a limb besides one girl who hand lost both her lower legs. Kamaru stared down at the paperwork and the boards where the explosions were theorized and explained and the members around him assiting in the investigation.
Shinobi were in the business of death at times, however cruel or brutal it was usually accurate and with little spill over into others unless that was part of the method of killing someone. Thanking the group he sighed and let them know his frame of mind and thinking on the situation.
”I’d like to thank all over you for your quick work up to this point, as well as a few people taking time off work to come down and help us out. We know how the bomb went off and exactly where the position of the blast started. Who did it and why is still up in the air. Besides a more detailed explanation though for the fact the coffee shop was bombed… we really don’t have squat to move forward with.” Kamaru stated falling silent his hands threading together as he let his elbows prop up his head on the table.
”We’re going to have to talk to anyone who save anything, witnesses, survivors if they’re conscious and can talk in any form even blink to confirm or deny a line of questioning and possibly find out the components used for the bomb to track them down from that angle. If we have people available I want them on the ground feet pounding the streets. Dismissed, we’ll be starting soon so get some rest in.” Kamaru said standing and leaving after thanking the civilians again and working out a schedule for when they could assist with the bomb component analysis. Walking out he eyed a coffee pot and rubbed his eyes, it was dark outside again he realized and decided to head home he hadn’t slept since the incident and exhaustion seemed to finally wash over him as he flopped into bed hands rubbing his eyes, they still felt like they had sand in them. He still smelled the ash and burn flesh even though he showered. He swore to no one again. He felt like he was still back in Leaf City fighting in the streets. He shouldn’t feel it but he felt a bit helpless in the situation to prevent it.
Shinobi weren’t superhuman all the time, just extraordinary in certain conditions Kamaru resolved himself to think. Kamaru just needed to have more conditions he could be extraordinary in.
