Character's Mental Description: As a ninja that has been tested in the fires of combat since the age of 11, barely surviving in several instances, Izura has the typical qualities of a ninja who has seen the fires of war. A veteran of old conflicts, he views the world with an experienced eye, and a solid mental state that shows a sense of calm when faced with adversity. However, because he was, as most shinobi like him, a child soldier, he has nightmares of what has happened to him in the past. Nightmares of friends that he could not protect and outcomes he was unable to change for the better. Overall, his mental state is secure, but not without well hidden vulnerabilities. He has several indications of having overcome PTSD, and there are some vestiges of that which remain.
On a more personable level, Izura is a friendly person, a man with principles. He does his best to be a good role model to young ninja, and even gets himself into some silly situations alongside them.

Once upon a time, there was a boy who was blind. The boy was lost, unguided, insecure. His world was ruled by an endless storm, drowning him, consuming him. He could not see, but he knew he was drowning. Into the deep, falling….falling….falling.
But eventually, someone pulled him from the depths. Taught him to rise above the terrifying unknown, and conquer it. From the depths of adversity and despair, the boy rose to the challenge. He cast aside his bandages, and for the first time in a long time, he was able to see.
It is said that he led an entire army, forged an alliance between nations, survived in the face of impossible odds, emerged victorious from a losing battle time after time after time…
But those are mere legends. Who knows of the real truth?
The fire burns brighter, only to eventually fade into the annals of history….
More boring, fact filled version of events Izura grew up, constantly on the run at an extremely early age. His family, ever since he can remember, had been chased by assassins. The Hidden Leaf village eventually granted him asylum, but as it became increasingly apparent that they were not able to protect him from the assassins, he left, becoming a missing ninja with the help of a man by the name of Yasha Sojobo. He was eventually captured by Sand ninja, brought to an intervillage tournament at the Toraono Dojo, and branded with a cursed seal that was meant to slowly kill him. Shortly thereafter, in a very callous move, the Leaf decided to punish Izura under penalty of death. But then, Izura tapped into his emotions, activating the power of the curse that was at the same time, killing him. With the intervention of Sojobo, Izura was able to survive and escape.
History becomes muddled after those events, but it is said that Izura became stronger, becoming the adopted son of Yasha Sojobo. An organization was founded under Sojobo’s leadership, and with the help of Izura, that organization grew strong. This organization, calling themselves “Rain”, conducted missions much like those of the main ninja villages. It was during his tenure as a part of this organization that Izura gained the nickname, “The Prince of Rain”, due to his relation to the original founder, Yasha Sojobo. Eventually the mantle of responsibility was passed on to Izura, and he came to led the organization. Unexpectedly, Izura was able to reconcile past transgressions with the Leaf, and eventually formed an alliance with them. But, like all great powers, even the Leaf waned. When the samurai overran the Leaf, the “Rain” organization was wiped out alongside them. So much so, that even the very mention of the “Rain” brings up blank stares, raised eyebrows, and a lack of recollection. Like his comrades, he fought valiantly, but was overwhelmed. Not much is known as to exactly how this happened, but he was mortally wounded and left for dead, saved only by a jutsu that would lock him in stasis for the next decade.
It’s been eight years since then, when the Leaf was destroyed by the samurai.
Eight years, where Izura was forgotten to time, locked in mortal stasis. Albeit prematurely, the stasis has worn off, and once again, he rises from the ash.
