Personality: Sumiko is a deeply troubled individual, while being able to understand emotions deployed by others she rarely feels them herself leading her to be cold and calculating. Due to her privileged upbringing she looks down on others as she feels that she is superior to them in nearly every way. Over time Sumiko learnt tohid her turn nature from others under a mask of sweet innocence that she uses to twist people to her will; this is shown by her parents who see her only as their perfect little girl. She cares little for other people putting her needs above theirs, while Sumiko is charming and outwardly polite and courteous and easily makes friends, she never forms an emotional attachment to any of them, seeing them more as tools to use rather than people.
History: Born into a rich and well-respected family inside of Leaf, while her parents were part of a little known clan they still had a wealth that rivaled others. Her mother was sickly but desperately wanted a child, they tried for many years almost completely giving up hope until she fell pregnant with a daughter. Sumiko was a welcome and pleasant surprise, as she grew up her parents doted on her showering with gifts and everything that a little girl would need.
Even as a child Sumiko wasn’t normal she would never cry like a normal baby would and when she grew older she would never laugh, her parents grew concerned not wanting to lose their precious gift her parents took her to many medical professions each assuring them there was nothing medically wrong with her. Still not convinced and terrified that she would have the same affliction as her mother, her father cut off all contact with the outside world, the only people that she was allowed to have contact with were the household staff or immediate family. Her mother’s frial nature resulted in her rarely leaving her bed chamber, she would spend hours with Sumiko sitting on the bed with her dressing her up in elegant clothing or brushing her daughter's hair treating hours on end, she was treated much like she was a living doll
It seemed to Sumiko that she could understand the emotions of others but she rarely felt them herself, but she learned from a young age to wear a mask of normality, due to her not having any real desire to spend time with the children around the household, Sumiko developed an obsession with dolls, using those as playthings rather then playmates, her parents would often find the bodies broken or limbs remove which of course she would claim to have been caused by accident or someone else. No-one was really sure if it was her isolation or her inherent nature that made her cruel but even from a young age she showed a rotten streak, whether it be intentionally frightening her maids or even at time physically hurting them Sumiko took great joy from watching their faces, when they went to her parents she would simply smile sweetly claim she wasn’t to blame.
In her mother’s absence Sumiko’s father made sure that his daughter was taught in the ways of her family's traditional arts such as dance, playing the Koto, calligraphy and archery, while Sumiko showed great talents in all of the these she showed particular interest in violence and swiftly turned her focus to the later spending more and more of her time into practicing archery. She soon came to impress her tutors of her proficancies with a bow and her father even commissioned a weapon more suited to her smaller frame which, apart from her collections of dolls, is her most prized possession.
