Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Yasuo has a somewhat striking appearance than those around him. He isn't particularly fixed in his style, he teeters between the line of feminine and masculine. His hair is long, flowing down to his lower back though he keeps it somewhat tied up. Naturally his hair color is brown but he utilizes the dying techniques available to change it to a bright pink color. He also has heterochromia, caused by genetic mosaicism, where his left eye is blue but his right eye is green. He stands just a few centimeters below 5'8", and his body is thin, almost malnourished looking.[lb2]

Yasuo's outfits, again, can switch from feminine to masculine at any real notice. While he doesn't enjoy wearing skirts or dresses, his color scheme and accessories can often seem more girly to most guys who suffer from that toxic masculinity people are talking about nowadays. Most days if he is just working in the hospital or just out and about he will be wearing a loose kimono, light purple in color, with a large sash hooked to his torso, around underneath his right arm, and connecting to the top of his left arm where the sleeve ends. He wars generic sandals with this kimono, and the outfit is given more of a flare with several floral and butterfly themed accessories. Though it may seem cumbersome it isn't impossible to fight in. However, when he has the forsight to know a fight is possible he will opt or a more sleek outfit. A dark Military like uniform that allows Yasuo to move more freely. Though the outfit comes with a mask he doesn't often wear it, as he isn't ANBU and feels like it'd be a wasted effort anyway.​

✿ PERSONA ✿

Yasuo is a strange individual. He appears sane and caring for the most part but he likes to keep other people at a distance longer than one would think. This is because he holds secrets that, if they were ever discovered, he'd probably be removed from the village. He doesn't hold human life to a higher regard, and the human bodies after death to an even lesser extent. He is incredibly sarcastic, some people would call him a savage, and it can often be seen as unnecessarily rude. Yasuo has an incredibly morbid sense of humor, jokes about death, others suffering, even jokes that seem to go too far can be quite hilarious to him, but that stems for his dislocated view on life.[lb2]

One thing that Yasuo understands is weird and doesn't share with anybody is his cannibalistic nature. After having to live only one what he could hunt for years and getting closer to Water country, where no wildlife could live due to the temperature, he had to partake in the consumption of human flesh from bandits that he slaughtered. After participating in this more while learning the art of necromancy it became less of a necessary action and more of a common occurrence for him. This isn't to say he goes around killing people for their flesh, or even taking bodies from the morgue to eat. He still enjoys other food, there being only so many ways one can season human meat, but he no longer has second thoughts when it comes to eating another person. Its his survival over theirs.​

✿ HISTORY ✿

Yasuo was born in a little village in De Cevitate Attonbitus, outside of an actual shinobi village, in Lightning Country. At first Yasuo believed he had a normal family, he lived with his mother and occasionally his father. His father would come and go for work, but Yasuo was unaware of his occupation. Whenever he would come back he would return with little trinkets; broken shurikens, scrolls damaged by fire or water, things you would find from a battlefield. He said he merely found these items on his travels, but Yasuo later discovered that to be a lie.[lb2]

Once Yasuo reached the age of 10 his father began "procuring" random, actually readable scrolls, and a practice sword. His father would begin teaching him and practicing what was taught in these scrolls alongside Yasuo, pretending to be learning the information from the scrolls at the same time, when in reality he had already mastered the techniques he was teaching his Son. After a few months of basic training Yasuo's father "discovered" the secrets of a clan he called the "Nanjirou" who utilized the spirits of their ancestors to channel their strength and combat skills into their own body through the use of their swords. Naturally his father had two spare swords, one for him and one for Yasuo. While training Yasuo's father saw something strange in him, one that thoroughly disturbed him.[lb2]

Yasuo's relationship to the spirits and souls from the other side was weird. While his clan revered them and accepted them into their bodies, Yasuo began to reject the spirits controlling him in battle, and after a while it became impossible for him to connect to the spirits in the way that his father was attempting to teaach him. This left his ancestral blade tainted, cursed, and Yasuo could see the massive disappointment in his father's eyes.[lb2]

Once Yasuo had reached the age of 11 he was pulled aside by his father, away from his mother's ears. His father told Yasuo the truth. That he actually had another family in a village, hidden in the leaves as he said it, and that Yasuo actually had an older brother. He wasn't quite sure how to handle the news, but he understood that if he had an older brother then that meant that Yasuo and his mother was actually the side family. This explained how his father would be absent for most of the year, he wasn't gone for work, he left work to come to them. His father wanted him to keep it a secret, but he was so disgusted that he told his mother immediately, who had a fit and wanted nothing to do with his father afterwards. That was the last time he saw his father, later in life he heard something about there being Samurai within the leaf village, but Yasuo didn't understand this.[lb2]

Once Yasuo reached the age of 15 he joined this rag tag group of local youth who, through their own backstories, obtained knowledge of shinobi training. From this small group, of maybe 20, Yasuo was placed in a group with two other kids his age. Kotsuko and Ryuuji, who became quite important to Yasuo, helping him through tough times without a father. While on an adventure outside of their village both Yasuo and Kotsuko had to witness the horrific death of Ryuuji while neither of them could save him. They both took this event really hard but dealt with it in different ways. Kotsuko tried to find comfort in Yasuo's presence but he became more reclusive. He felt weak and powerless. This became worse when Kotsuko, not finding the support in Yasuo that she needed at the time, later took her own life. Yasuo fell deeper into his hole of depression and contemplated following Kotsuko, but he feared death, or more accurately, the truth of what comes after it.[lb2]

After a while Yasuo had an epiphany. His clan had a connection to spirits, that wasn't normal, and while it was a connection to the spirits of their ancestors to enhance their fighting capabilities, it should be possible to use those same teachings to contact, or even bond with the spirits of his partners. He didn't have much left from what his father left him, his mother wanted to burn it all but it was still valuable to him. Within it was some code that he needed to decipher to gain the information.[lb2]

Once he deciphered the meanings he discovered that the Nanjirou clan obtained their power by utilizing the techniques taught by tainted and corrupted practices, but ultimately changed the methods used to make it a harmonious agreement with the spirits. However, the secrets ended there but only gave Yasuo a glimpse of his next hint. The practitioner of such techniques was also known as a necromancer, and he worked in the medical field which gave him access to bodies that could not have been saved.[lb2]

Yasuo went to the village doctors, who weren't trained as medical shinobi but were well versed in general medical procedures.. He trained like any other aspiring doctor the basics of biology and human anatomy,=, but he hadn't discovered the secrets he was actually going for. While he was in the medical field he did have some chances to accurately study the human body, including understanding how the nerves in the body operated. While he was studying anatomy he discovered some more hints about the necromantic techniques he was searching for, but these clues showed that he would not find them within his village.[lb2]

He spent two years traveling in-between villages, not sure it would be wise to search for this information within villages, as well as actively avoiding the village his father came from.. During his travels he found tiny towns and villages that had many of their own superstitions of the dead and them coming back to life every so often. Most of these led nowhere, but some had a sliver of truth behind them. Unfortunately most of the people only regurgitated the scary stories told to them by their parents when they were misbehaving. There was, however, one lady who was much older than the rest of the village. She was respected at one point, but many now believed she had gone senile and her words shouldn't be trusted, but they were wrong. She spoke of ancient ruins, an old man who live way past his expiration date, who used necromancy to extend his lifespan. This ruin resided near the peak of a random mountain that made up Lightning Country. The high altitude meant it would be a cold adventure.[lb2]

Alas, Yasuo went out toward the ruins alone, he believed he could handle it himself and he didn't have the money hire underlings. His goal was seemingly in reach and he was clearly losing his own mind in an effort to find this place. One the way he encountered many bands of bandits and mercenaries that Yasuo would mercilessly kill whenever they tried to get money for him. His appreciation for human life was already small from his training as a shinobi, the amount of lives he had to take was nothing compared to this.[lb2]

It took him a half a year to find the ruins, he had ran out of food early and had to rely on the natural wildlife, and in times of extreme desperation, the bodies of the bandits he killed. Once he discovered the area he was adventuring to he realized it wasn't much of a ruin. It looked like a larger home that had began to fall apart. Immediately upon stepping on the desecrated grounds he noticed that there were skeletons thrown about the place. Upon closer inspections it seemed as though there were still some bodies that were recently deceased.[lb2]

Upon entering the home Yasuo could see from the candles that weren't completely frozen over, that someone was still living here. He heard footsteps from behind him, but upon turning he came face to face with several people, but their bodies were decaying and falling apart. Yasuo jumped out of the home, only to realize that many of the bodies and the skeletons around the home. Brittle bodies wasn't an issue to go through, but they just kept coming, but at some point they stopped. The sound of wood hitting frozen ground pierced the sound of brainless moaning and caught Yasuo's attention.[lb2]

An old man, far past his prime, came to personally greet Yasuo. He informed Yasuo that most people that had arrived at his home were weak and easily overtaken, and later added to, his little zombie army. Not many shinobi had ventured out to this area, and while the man was old and couldn't fight any longer he understood what a young shinobi was capable of. To assert his dominance Yasuo began to wipe out the rest of the surrounding zombies as he made his way face to face with the old man, drawing his ancestral sword to threaten the old man, only to be laughed at. The man had no fear of dying, Yasuo could see that and threatening him would get him nowhere, but he kept the sword at the man's throat and demanded he tell Yasuo how to perform necromancy. Though the man seemed confused for a moment his expression changed to amusement, so he agreed.[lb2]

The next year Yasuo participated in many horrific rituals, which included taking the lives of innocent people, experimenting on their bodies with his medical knowledge while they were both alive and dead. The old man taught Yasuo how to tap into energies that were not quite kosher, he grew to disassociate human life from that of other meat people eat while he and the man practiced cannibalism. Finally, the man taught Yasuo how to manipulate the souls of the departed in a manner that contradicted the methods taught by his clan. Once Yasuo was done with the man, he killed him and use what the man taught him to chain his soul. Naturally, the man knew this day would come after teaching Yasuo, and he didn't resist.[lb2]

However, now that Yasuo had the teachings of the necromancer, he had no other real purpose in life other than drawing the souls from his two loves back near to him. Him being a mercenary was already difficult, naturally a village wouldn't immediately trust a person trained as a shinobi that had no village affiliation. After some time he was able to get himself accepted into the village as a shinobi, but on a probational period, if he were to do something the village did not approve of he wouldn't be kicked out, he'd be executed. He was able to put his previous experience in the medical field to good use which garnered some semblance of trust in him as he joined the medical branch, both to help and to facilitate his fascination with the dead.​

Ancestral Weapon - Passive[lb]
The Nanjirou believe that the best ending to their life is to be as they lived; paired with a blade. Their remains are used in the forging and reforging of blades both new and old, quite literally infusing a part of them into their swords. It is for this reason that their are a myriad of unique weapons in the clan, each with their own history and displaying traits of those who came before. Many blades have a spirit within of one of their ancestors that serves as a guide to the Nanjirou as they live their life and grow in power.[lb][lb]

Rank 1: Upon gaining this bloodline the user must designate a single Slashing or Piercing weapon as their Ancestral Weapon. Attacks made with this weapon gain one of the following alignments and the associated effect;[lb]
Spiritual: Twice per round, the user may perform two Wrath Seal actions to the same attack with this weapon. Both require a focus point.[lb]
Holy: The weapon protects the user against the first 175/275/400/550/675 damage that hits the wielder each round, increasing with the user's out of character rank D/C/B/A/S.[lb]
Cursed: Each round the user's Ancestral Weapon siphons 1% of their maximum health into a special Bloodlust Pool. Whenever the user performs a Taijutsu with their Ancestral Weapon, for free, they may choose to spend Bloodlust as well which increases the base damage of their attack by an equal amount to a maximum of +500 Base Damage.[lb]
The Bloodlust Pool has no maximum cap and cannot be affected in any form other than spending or adding Bloodlust.[lb]
Rank 2: The Ancestral Weapon gains +1 Critical.[lb]
Rank 3: Critical bonus from Rank 2 no longer applies to caps.[lb][lb]

Bushido - Passive[lb]
Fitting for a clan of samurai, the Nanjirou are ingrained with a code of honor and pride before they even learn to speak. Due to carrying within them the blood and spirit of their lineage, the failure of oneself is seen as the failure of one's ancestry; to be the cause of such shame is not an option to them. The more a Nanjirou is pressured, the more of their Ancestry awakens. [lb][lb]

Rank 1: The user gains +0.5 to all Secondary stats each time they lose 30% of their Max Hp, capping at +1.5 Secondaries.[lb]
Rank 2: The user is treated as having the Hidden Power ability (This does not require an abilities slot). [lb]
Rank 3: The user gains +0.5 to all Secondary stats each time they lose 15% Hp of their Max Hp, capping at +2 to their secondaries. So they gain a bonus at 85%/70%/55%/40%. If the user elects to fill one of their ability slots with Hidden Power, the cap is increased to +3. So they gain a bonus at 85%/70%/55%/40%/25%/10%.[lb][lb]

- If the user has Hidden Power granted for free by a source which is not Bushido then the user is counted as having filled one of their ability slots with it even though the ability is not currently taking up an ability slot.[lb][lb]

Wrath Seal - Activated Passive[lb]
The core of what separates a swordsman and a Nanjirou is their ties to their clan; the Nanjirou have the unique ability to invoke visions, emotions, and perhaps most importantly, techniques, of their predecessors. A misnomer, the Wrath Seal is a trance they enter that allows even a young Nanjirou to display advanced swordsmanship by channeling the power of an ancient grandmaster. This is no free power though; the trance is exhausting, and difficult to maintain during battle for an extended time. [lb][lb]

Rank 1: Grants the user 1 Focus point upon activation and each round active. They may perform the Dancing Blade, Energy Slash and Vantage options.[lb]
Rank 2: Grants the user 2 Focus points upon activation and each round active. The user may now perform the Vorpal Edge option.[lb]
Rank 3: Grants the user 3 Focus points upon activation and each round active. The user may now perform the Lethality option.[lb][lb]

One Focus point may be spent to add one of the following effects to a Slashing or Piercing attack;[lb]
Dancing Blade - The user may add +1 target to an attack. The user deals -10% damage for the remainder of the round; this stacks indefinitely each time used in the round.[lb]
Energy Slash - The attack does not count as Melee Contact.[lb]
Vantage - The user may attack a stealthed target that they failed an awareness check on at -5 accuracy.[lb]
Vorpal Edge - When Battoujutsu is used, it does not suffer from the damage penalty gained through the Dancing Blade or Uncanny Dodge Nanjirou skills.[lb]
Lethality - Doubles both the Critical buff limit and any Critical bonuses the user has, but halves the user's critical damage modifier.[lb]
Cost: 1 Ap to activate. 4% Max Cp/Rnd active[lb][lb]

Iaijutsu Mastery - Bloodline Fighting Style[lb]
Through many years of training, the Nanjirou have developed a code: "Wherever we may be, we must be prepared." With this code in mind, they have developed a stance to adjust to every situation. Their sword is constantly sheathed, and they may quickly draw it and redraw it. There are a number of variations but any skilled Nanjirou will have their fearsome Battoujutsu at the ready.[lb][lb]

Rank 1: Jigen-ryu -- The user's Piercing and Slashing Taijutsu attacks with their weapon while in this stance do +5% more damage.[lb]
Rank 2: Mugai-ryu -- Taijutsu attacks done with this style are modded 0.25 AP faster (costs are still paid in full).[lb]
Rank 3: Kensei-ryu -- The user takes +15% Damage from all sources, however their class Evasion stat is considered High. [lb][lb]

Special Action - The user may choose to only select the "dodge attack to sheath weapon" effect of this style without any of the other effects. If so, this does not take up the user's physical style. [lb][lb]

Cost: 0.5 AP to enter stance.[lb][lb]

- At all ranks, upon dodging an attack the user may sheath their weapon for no cost. [lb]
- Can be used with -Any- Slashing or Piercing Weapon.[lb]

Battoujutsu - D Rank Buffing Taijutsu[lb]
The infamous quickdraw technique of the Nanjirou. In the hands of a Nanjirou a sheathed blade is more dangerous than a drawn one, and in the blink of an eye they can unsheathe and strike at their enemies. With few people outside of shinobi having the necessary reflexes to react, the Nanjirou became famed for their "one-hit kill" swordsmanship.[lb]

Rank 1: The user equips a Slashing or Piercing weapon and attacks with a Taijutsu; If the attack rolls a critical, the modifier is increased to x2.1 Critical damage. [lb]
Rank 2: The user equips a Slashing or Piercing weapon and attacks with a Taijutsu with +1 Critical range; If the attack rolls a critical, the modifier is increased to x2.2 Critical damage. [lb]
Rank 3: The user equips a Slashing or Piercing weapon and attacks with a Taijutsu with +2 Critical range; If the attack rolls a critical, the modifier is increased to x2.3 Critical damage. [lb][lb]

Cost: No Ap; increases the Cp/HP cost of the attack used with this by +30%. [lb][lb]

Temporized Slash - C Rank Bloodline Slashing/Piercing Taijutsu[lb]
When facing a Nanjirou, one should never let their guard down, even when they believe themselves to have the upperhand. A technique performed by sheathing their sword in invisible chakra and slashing, the Nanjirou seals the wound right away through the use of the chakra and causes it to go unnoticed by the victim until they choose to release the chakra and open the wound. Often seen involving the user passing by the enemy in an apparent miss...Until blood suddenly gushes from multiple wounds at once. [lb]

Rank 1: Deals 1170 damage at -1 Accuracy. Damage dealt by this technique may show up as either a miss or hidden action (user's choice).[lb]
Rank 2: Deals 1460 damage. Damage dealt by this technique may show up as either a miss or hidden action (user's choice). Additionally, the user may choose an additional attack used during the current round or the next to be modded similarly.[lb]
Rank 3: Deals 1825 damage at +1 Accuracy. Damage dealt by this technique may show up as either a miss or hidden action (user's choice). Additionally, the user may choose an additional 2 attacks used during the current round or the next to be modded similarly.[lb]

There are few people whose raw speed and reflex can rival that of a Nanjirou swordsmaster. Their swiftness can seem unnatural, as if aided by some jutsu effect or other influence, but it is simply the result of their willpower to endure their clan's intense physical conditioning.[lb][lb]

Rank 1: Once used, the user will auto-dodge the next level E-B Jutsu that hits them. The user may use a single Special Action. [lb]

Special Action - Razor's Reflex: Requires Wrath Seal to be active. The Nanjirou may spend a Focus point when using Uncanny Dodge to make a basic melee attack against the attacker, dealing damage equal to 20% of the attack's intended damage.[lb]

Special Action - Hidden Warrior: By paying 0.5 additional AP at the time (not at cast) the attack is auto-dodged, the Nanjirou may attempt to enter stealth at -1 stealth bonus.[lb]

Calling forth the spirits of their ancestors, the Nanjirou manifests their willpower and soul in a form of living blade that dances around them. To the eyes of a stranger, they would appear like gleaming steel that appeared out of thin air but for the Nanjirou, each and every single blade was once a part of their living bloodline, aiding them in their techniques - refining them with their wisdom.[lb][lb]

Effect: The user generates a certain amount of Living Blades each round and the user may choose to expend 1 Living Blade into their Basic Attack, offensive Bloodline Technique or Slashing/Piercing Taijutsu to grant it an additional effect. If the user is equipped with their Ancestral Weapon at the time of cast, the Living Blade user gains the effect under their weapon's Alignment instead.[lb]
Base - Attacks done with a Living Blade gains it +2 Accuracy.[lb]
Spiritual - Attacks done with a Living Blade uses the target's Genjutsu Save instead of their usual Dodge in the roll, and may perform a single Wrath Seal action without requiring a focus point.[lb]
