It had been a few days since the last foreigner known as Rise had been allowed into the village and offered a room to stay in the Byakko Estate thanks to the generosity of their descendant of the celestial being they worshiped. As far as this follower knew, his guest had been on her best behavior since she had arrived and only small winds of information on her had gotten back to him typically about her appearance being so unique and yet so similar to his own "estranged" wife's. It was true that they had strikingly similar physical traits, but both of them had grown up in vastly different worlds one would assume. His wife had been living in the Byakko Estate since her birth and had been trained under the watchful eyes of her immediate family and the entire Toraono Clan. As for his guest, he didn't know much about her aside from her being a mercenary and willing to strike a potential deal with him if he was willing to fork over a reasonable amount of cash for her services. Additionally, she was itching to get into a fight with him and his brother in the foreseeable future and for some odd reasoning, Kyuji was excited for this challenge! Maybe it was the excitement of a fight or maybe he was just a glutton for punishment and wanted to lose another arm in a fight and go about his days as the arm-less descendant of Lord Byakko!
In either case, he was going to try to get to know this woman better. After all, it would be best to actually interact with his guests and be a good host than have either party hiding in their rooms or not communicating at all. So that is exactly what he would do, he would roll out of his bed in the room that Yanshi and he still shared. After a few moments of rubbing his eyes to shake the tiredness out of them, he would slip on a plain white tee and a pair of cargo jeans before throwing on his shroud to conceal his body. He would then head out of his room, stopping in the kitchen to grab a quick snack of a bagel and proceed to eat the delicious creation on his stroll to her room.
Once he was outside of her room, he would knock three times and energetically announce that he was going out to breakfast somewhere in the village and if she wanted to come along. Regardless of her answer, he would then announce that he wished to speak to her about business later today. It was better to get to know someone before conducting business with them and what better way than to take them out for a meal so he could see how they reacted around multiple people and in different settings. Yes, Kyuji shouldn't have asked if he wanted to save his marriage, but it was quite honestly on the rocks for awhile and neither party was willing to save it. Then again, neither had tried to save it and were being somewhat childish about it since it all began with one of his apprentices, then his son, and now other parties in the village.
